Chapter Fourteen – The Rogue Bludger
Harry was happily walking down the hallway between the Weasley Twins, laughing as they occasionally swung him in the air by his arms. The last couple of weeks had been stressful, what with all the whispers and stares in his direction, and the few times he could truly relax was when he was able to hang out with either Draco or the Weasley Twins. "So, Kitten, our little Dragon is playing his very first Quidditch game tomorrow, and he's up against us and Haiden." Fred started.
"I know this is going to be a very difficult question." George started
"Who are you going to root for?" They finished together. Harry took a moment to think. He hadn't really thought about it, but Gryffindor and Slytherin were having the first match of the year (why those two always had the first Quidditch match of the year always confused Harry when Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff would be a better pairing to start with). On one hand, he really wanted to support Draco, knowing the young man was nervous; however, on the other hand, he knew he should support his brother and the Weasley twins. Harry knew that most students normally only rooted for one team, he already wasn't normal like the other students and already had a spotlight on him. He didn't want to stick out anymore, but he really wanted to root for his friends and brother. This left Harry with only one choice.
"I'm going to root for all four of you." Harry told them with an innocent smile causing the older twins to jokingly coo at him as they pinch his cheeks and call him adorable.
"Harry?" Hermione nervously called out from behind the group. The Weasley Twins stopped cooing and pinching his cheeks as the three of them turned to look at the young woman. They found her standing a few feet away from them nervously picking at her nails. It felt weird to have Hermione nervous around him, he had rarely seen her actively show her nervousness, normally she was better at hiding it. Had all the new rumors about him made her wiry around him? Harry was hurt by that, but shoved it away as he plastered on a calming smile, causing some of Hermione's nerves to leave her.
"Hi Hermione, did you need help?" Harry asked as George shifted closer to him. Harry glanced up at the older boy to see he was giving Hermione a guarded look. A few nights after the 'incident' the Weasley Twins had 'kidnapped' Harry (according to Draco) and was able to get Harry's side of what happened in the corridor and it was clear to Harry that the older twins had not been happy with how Ron, Haiden, and Hermione had thrown him under the bus. At seeing George's hard stare, Hermione took a half step back and looked as if she was debating with herself. It was then that Harry realized that it wasn't him that Hermione was nervous of but the Weasley Twins, and that realization made him wonder what the elder twins had done to Hermione, Ron and Haiden.
After taking a deep, calming breath, Hermione looked back at Harry with determination in her eyes. She opened her mouth, only to close it just seconds later and nervously tucked her dark, curly hair behind her ear only for it to pop back into place. After another deep breath she opened her mouth once more. "Harry, I – I need your help." Her voice was shaky and she cleared her throat. "There's a book I need, but it's in the restricted section." She finished, her voice back to normal. Harry stood there, eyes watching her closely. Something deep inside him took some small pleasure as he watch as her confident mask slipped and he was able to see her mentally beating herself up as her dark brown eyes fell from him to the floor as they began to tear up.
"Okay." Harry told her causing Hermione to snap her eyes back up at him in surprise.
"Wait, really?" Hermione asked. "You're really going to help me? Even after I–"
"Why wouldn't I?" Harry said, cutting her off. He didn't want to think about anything that happened on or around the night that Mrs Norris was found petrified. Because, even though Harry not only had the note but also the memories of the 'true' interaction with Dumbledore, no one else seemed to remember what actually happened. Everyone else seemed to believe that Harry had kindly told Dumbledore that he was going to be late to class before he left. And the fact that no one but Harry seemed to remember the 'true' interaction between him and Dumbledore scared Harry. If that cloaked man who claimed to be 'the Forgotten One' could change that , what else could that person change?
"After she what?" The Weasley twins asked. Harry smirked at them before he left their side to gently take Hermione by the hand.
"I'll see you guys later." Harry called to them over his shoulder.
"AFTER SHE WHAT?!" The Weasley Twins cried after them causing Harry to chuckle.
"You know, you really shouldn't tease them like that." Hermione muttered and Harry gave her a look that had her gulping as she looked away from him, making him wonder what his face had looked like. His eyes slid from her face to their clasped hands as the whispers from the other students in the corridor caught his attention. He looked forward as he lead the way to the library just knowing that some new, strange rumor about him and Hermione would find its way into Draco's ears and knew he was going to have a jealous Draco to deal with.
"So," Harry started, trying to distract himself from what he knew was to come later that night, "what book do you need from the restricted section?" Thanks to his knowledge of the secret corridors, Harry was able to quickly get them to the library and was now opening the door, allowing Hermione to enter first. Madam Pince, the librarian, nodded at Harry who nodded back as he gently pushed Hermione (who had paused just inside the door) towards the restricted section. "Hermione?" Harry asked snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, um, Moste Potente Potion ." Hermione muttered causing Harry to pause in the middle of one of the aisle to give the girl a suspicious look. Hermione, noticing that Harry had stopped, turned to look at him and, noticing his look, began to nervously fiddle with her skirt.
"Why do you need that book?" Harry asked and he watched as Hermione's mind raced to try and find something to tell him as she began to stutter out an excuse about needing it to understand Gilderoy Lockhart's Gadding with Ghouls . Harry stared at her with a blank look knowing that there was nothing in that book that she needed help understanding. The two of them stood there, receiving strange looks from the occasional student, as Harry waited for Hermione to tell him the truth while Hermione refused to look him in the eyes. After a long minute, Harry sighed while rolling his eyes.
"You know, Hermione, it would help both of us if you just told me the truth." Harry told her and he watched as she opened her mouth most likely to deny that she was lying. "I mean, I'm going to find out anyway since I'll have to be with you whenever you use the book."
"Wait, why?" Hermione asked.
"Oh, you didn't know?" Harry asked.
"Know what?" Hermione asked, slight fear in her voice.
"With the books from the restricted section, only the person who checked it out will be able to use the book. If you, or anyone that is not me, tries to even open the book, it will jinx you while also alerting the closest professor. And the only way to have the jinx removed is by a professor." Hermione's eyes widened, and it was clear that she didn't know this while coming up with this plan. "You didn't know that when making this plan, did you?" Harry watched as Hermione's eyes teared up as her mind began racing again as she tried to figure out a way to get that book without letting Harry know what she was doing. Harry sighed. "You're not going to tell me."
"I–I'm sorry, but I can't tell you." Hermione whispered as she began to silently cry.
"Can't or won't?" Harry asked and Hermione looked away. "Whatever you're doing with this book involves me, doesn't it?" His answer was silence. Harry sighed and looked away as he let his mind go over everything that was not said. Haiden needed a potion from that book for some reason or other and, instead of asking Harry himself, he had sent Hermione to get the potion. Harry was very tempted to just turn and walk away (he had even started to turn away).
"Let me guess, Haiden asked you to use me to get to a potion from that book, yes?" Harry asked looking over to Hermione who just nodded and Harry gave a wet laugh as his eyes teared up. He began to pace up and down the aisle as he tried to figure out what he should do. There were three routes he could think of doing: He could walk away and leave Hermione (and Haiden) to figure out another way to get the potion they needed; He could check the book out and hold it over their heads to force Hermione (and Haiden) to tell him what they were doing; or he could let Hermione copy whatever potion they needed and then wash his hands of them.
"Okay," Harry practically growled out, "I understand." He turned all of his attention to Hermione who looked scared that he would just walk away. "I'll help you," Harry told her shocking the girl, "however, next time you need into the restricted section I'll not help you, meaning, you're going to have to find another way into the restricted section." He walked over to Hermione and took her by the wrist. "And tell my brother that the next time that he wants my help with anything , then he better come to me himself and beg ." He hissed as he literally drug the shocked girl.
"I'm sorry–" Hermione started.
"Stop." Harry growled at her as he threw open the gate to the restricted section causing Hermione to flinch when it slammed against the wall. The air around them became tense as Harry drug Hermione to the aisle that held the bookshelf they needed. After locating the book, Harry let Hermione go so that he could pull the book out and slam it on the small shelf that appeared the second he pulled the book out. He angrily opened the book before conjuring up a scroll, a quill, and an ink well without using his wand or a spell, he was so angry that he didn't realize that he had done that in front of Hermione who was now staring at him. Harry turned back towards Hermione, who flinched and looked away from him.
"Well?" He motioned to the open book and parchment, it obviously took Hermione's frazzled mind a couple minutes to realize that Harry was expecting her to copy the potion she needed. After a moment of hesitation, Hermione shuffled around Harry who turned away from the young woman to give her some sense of privacy. The silence around them was only broken by her slowly turning the pages of the book until she found the potion she needed. "You know, I really thought that you and I could be friends," Harry told her causing Hermione to give a small gasp, "and not because you're friends with my brother, but because we have the same interest. However, I see now that I was wrong, I don't think I could ever be friends with someone who can easily use me."
"Harry–" Hermione started, pain in her voice. This angered him even more.
"Did you even stop to consider my feelings? Did you even stop the think that I might have actually helped you if you had only just ask what you wanted to know? Did it never occur to you that maybe I'm human and don't like to be used ." Harry hissed and heard her start crying again.
"We didn't want to offend you." Hermione whispered.
"Oh, well, you did a fantastic job at that, didn't you?" Harry asked her sarcastically. She sniffed and Harry began to feel bad about lashing out at her; however, something whispered to temporarily ignore how he was starting to feel, it whispered that she needed this lesson to learn and grow from.
Harry turned back around to face Hermione when he heard her shut the book. "Get what you needed?" The young woman nodded while trying to wipe her face of tears, but it was difficult since she was still crying. "I hope you didn't expect me to help you gather the ingredients." Hermione shook her head. "Good, because after what you and my brother just did to me, I wouldn't have helped you." Harry turned to leave only to pause and look over his shoulder at her. "Oh, and don't expect me to bail you out if you get caught doing... whatever you two are doing." Harry watched as Hermione nearly folded in on herself as she cried and, with a soft sigh, turned fully back around and pulled her into a hug, shocking her.
"Shh, it's okay." Harry whispered. "You made a mistake, now learn from this experience and grow stronger." After a small hesitation, Hermione wrapped her arms around him and clung to him as she cried. "I'm sorry that I said that this ruined your chance to be my friend, I was hurt and angry and I lashed out at you. You already are my friend, Hermione." The young woman started crying harder at that and Harry just allowed her to let everything out. "That's it, just let it out." He whispered, "Let it all out and then we can start fresh, we'll move away from this mistake stronger and wiser." Harry told her as he waved away Madam Pince who had come over to see what the commotion was.
"Feel better?" Harry asked once Hermione finally stopped crying and pulled away. He conjured up a handkerchief for her.
"That's the second time you've done that." Hermione whispered as she gingerly took the handkerchief from him.
"Did what?" Harry asked as he picked up the book and placed it back in the bookshelf.
"Conjured something both wordless and wandless." Hermione told him and he froze, finally realizing he had done that in front of her twice .
"Shite." He hissed out under his breath before turning to look at her. "Please don't let on to anyone that I can do that." Harry said.
"How long have you been able to use wordless and wandless magic." Hermione asked and Harry sighed and pinched his nose, of course Hermione would be curious, hell he would be curious if one of his friends was suddenly able to use wordless and wandless magic. He debated whether or not to inform her or just walk away.
"Ever since I lost control of my magic last year." Harry muttered out through his teeth. "Can we please stop talking about this?"
"Have you been hiding that you can do this? Why? It's amazing that you can not only do wordless magic, but also wandless magic!" Hermione said, not noticing that Harry was starting to become very uncomfortable. "Headmaster Dumbledore, who is said to be the most powerful wizard of this time, can only do wandless magic!" At the mention of Dumbledore something inside Harry snapped.
"I SAID TO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!" Harry all but roared shocking Hermione as his magic lashed out and began to shake the bookshelves surrounding them. His roar echoed all around them in the quiet library and all but summoned Madam Pince who was giving him a mixed look of fear, shock, and disappointment.
"You know there is no yelling in the library, Harry." Madam Pince said as Harry quickly regained control of his magic. "I'm going to have to ask both you and Miss Granger to leave."
"Of course. I apologize." Harry told her as Hermione quickly gathered the scroll with the potion she needed copied onto it and rushed after Harry as he quickly made his way out of the library with his head held high while purposely ignoring the looks of the students that were in the library.
"I'm sorry." Hermione whispered the second they were outside the library. Harry looked away from her, debating whether to respond or not.
"It's fine, just don't talk about... you know..." Harry trailed off as a few students heard him and began whispering to each other, he caught the word 'kiss' and sighed.
"I won't. And, thank you." Hermione told him with a smile.
"Yeah, fine, whatever." Harry muttered before quickly walking away from her, needing to leave the situation before anymore strange rumors about him and Hermione could form and find their way into Draco's ears.
– Keep Me In Your Memories –
Harry woke up on Saturday morning, the day of the first Quidditch match of the year, with a bad feeling. Something in the back of his mind was whispering that something awful was going to happen at the match and no matter how much he tried, Harry could not ignore that little voice. Harry sent a silent prayer to whatever was listening that nothing bad would happen to Draco as he laid in his bed while petting a very content Loki.
"Would it be selfish to ask Draco not to play?" He whispered as Loki began to purr. "I just don't want Draco to play today." He told his cat as he gently grabbed Loki and held him over him gaining an annoyed look from the feline. "I know Draco is excited to finally be able to play on the team... its just – Ow!" Harry hissed, dropping Loki, when the cat bit him. Loki mewed angrily at being dropped before jumping off the bed and over to the door wanting out.
"I'm not going to open that door for you, you bit me!" Harry hissed at the feline who just yawned and began to clean himself as Harry sat up and held is hand to his chest. The two stayed like that for a minute before Harry sighed and got up. "Spoiled cat." He muttered while opening the door for Loki to run through. "I'm not going rescue you if you get into trouble!" He cried after the feline. Harry began to shut the door only to freeze when he felt those invisible eyes on him again. After taking a few seconds to not only calm himself but to gather his courage, he whipped around and focused his magic into his eyes to find a slightly see through Dumbledore watching him.
Harry stood there for a couple of second trying to figure out what to do when a voice whispered to act as if he didn't see Dumbledore. With a heavy sigh, Harry tried to act natural as he gathered his things for the day before quickly leaving the room. Once he was out of the dorm room, and he could no longer feel Dumbledore's eyes on him, Harry began to run. As he ran down the Ravenclaw Tower, towards the Ravenclaw library, he ran into Cho Chang. "Whoa, what's the rush?" She asked after the both of them caught their balance.
"I, uh," Harry's mind began to race to find an excuse, "I got an idea for a prank." Harry told her as he quickly slipped passed her, earning a small sigh from her.
"Those Weasley twins of yours are a bad influence on you. You should come hang with me and Cedric, that should counteract their influence." She called to him.
The second Harry ran into the Ravenclaw Library, his eyes landed on Luna in their normal spot. She was reading the Quibbler upside down, her long blond hair was in a messy bun that was held up by her wand. He rushed over to her and hugged her from behind, not even shocking the girl as she turned the page and continued reading. "I'm scared of Dumbledore." Harry whispered.
"Why?" She asked.
"He's watching me, waiting for me to do something. I don't know why or what he's waiting for me to do and that scares me. The fact that he could and would watch a student without them knowing is also terrifying. It makes me wonder how many times he's done this to other students." Harry told Luna as she closed the Quibbler.
"Do not worry, Harry." Luna told Harry as she easily slipped out of his hug and stood up with a stretch. "Whatever the Headmaster has planned for you, your friends will protect your from it." She told him with a smile, calming him. "Now, I don't know about you, but I'm hungry. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll get to eat with Myari and Draco." Luna gently took Harry's hand and began to lead him out of the Ravenclaw Tower. As they made their way to the Great Hall, hand in hand, the silence around the was comforting and only broken by the occasionally passing conversations of other students or paintings. When they got to the Great Hall Harry was happy to see Draco and Myari sitting across from each other in a deep discussion. Harry laugh when Draco said something that caused Myari to snarl at him before tossing some of her eggs at him, his laugh turned into a giggle when Draco retaliated by throwing a sausage at her.
"They seem to be getting along, it would be a shame to disturb their bonding." Luna said with a smirk.
"I'm so happy that they're not fighting." Harry said as Draco and Myari continued to toss their breakfast at each other. Luna and Harry shared a laugh at that. "All jokes aside, we should stop them before something lands in Draco's hair, I might not be able to save Myari if that were to happen." Luna hummed in agreement as the two of them walked over to the Slytherin table, only splitting up so that Harry could sit beside Draco as Luna took a seat next to Myari.
"Harry will agree with me! Right, Harry?" Myari cried the second Harry and Luna had sat down.
"I've learned not to agree to anything before knowing what it is that I am agreeing to." Harry stated as Draco began to pile food onto Harry's empty plate.
"Apple jam is the best jam ever!" Myari cried as Draco made a face.
"Oh, yeah, I've never had apple jam before." Harry informed her as he began to eat, shoving the food he didn't like aside (barely noticing Draco watching what he did and didn't eat) and laughed as Myari dramatically groaned and clung onto Luna who was munching on a peach covered with yogurt and honey.
"Why am I friends with these barbarians!" Myari moaned while fake crying.
"I never said I was your friend!" Draco hissed at the young girl. "I'm only here to make sure that neither of you steal Harry from me." He stated, wrapping his arm around Harry's shoulder and kissed Harry's cheek causing him to blush and his heart to race.
"Harry, be a dear and lean across the table towards me real quick." Luna said.
"Um, okay." Harry said before carefully standing up so that he could lean across the table and Luna met him halfway and kissed him on the lips shocking Harry. The Great Hall quickly fell quiet as the news that Harry and Luna kissed quickly spread.
"You can sit back down now, Harry." Luna told him as she sat back and continued eating her breakfast. Shock at what just happened, Harry sat back down and touched his lips as his mind raced. What was Luna doing? Why had she stolen his first kiss? How was Draco going to react? Would he be able to calm the boy down before he did something that he might regret?
"You are dead." Draco growled out and would have launched himself across the table had Harry not been quick enough to all but throw himself into the boy's lap as Myari went silent as she hid her face behind her hair.
"If you didn't want someone else to steal Harry's first kiss then you should have acted quicker and stolen it first." Luna told Draco. "If you're not careful someone might appear from nowhere and steal him from you." Draco growled and wrapped his arms around Harry.
"That won't ever happen! I'd die before I'd let that happen!" Draco growled at her as Luna gave the boy a dark, knowing look.
"I know." Was all she told Draco before she took Myari by the hand and lead the girl away.
– Keep Me in Your Memories –
Around eleven o'clock the sky opened up and began to rain as Draco (who had refused to allow Harry out of his sight) gently drug Harry towards the Slytherin locker rooms and forced the boy to sit with him as the team changed and joked about. "If the Weasley Twins weren't playing today, I would ask you to stay with them and away from that girl ." Draco growled out as he plopped down on the bench next to Harry, fully dressed in his new quidditch uniform. Harry sighed, rested his head on Draco's shoulder (causing a few of Draco's teammates to point and smile at them).
"Luna's not trying to steal me away from you." Harry told the boy for probably the thousandth time that day.
"Then why did she kiss you?" Draco asked gaining the attention of a few of the younger teammates who also seemed curious about that. Harry, who had spent all day trying to understand why Luna had stolen his first kiss, just shook his head.
"I don't know. No matter how much I wish too, I don't know what goes on in her mind." Harry informed Draco who sighed in annoyance while wrapping an arm around Harry, "However, if there is one thing I do know about Luna it's that there is always a reason to her madness, even if no one but her knows what that reason is."
"Yeah, and that reason is that she wants you as her boyfriend! Everyone can see that she wants you!" Draco all but yelled. Harry glanced around the room to see that some of Draco's teammates were agreeing with him. Draco caught them listening and let out an almost animalistic growl that caused them to turn away and act as if they weren't listening.
"Draco, please calm down." Harry begged knowing that Draco didn't need this stress and worry before his first quidditch game. "I'm not going to be her boyfriend, in fact, I'm not going to be anyone's boyfriend."
"What!?" Draco cried out in shock. "Why don't you want to be anyone's boyfriend?"
"It's not that I don't want to be someone's boyfriend, it's that I can't be someone's boyfriend." Harry explained looking way while blushing.
"What? Why?" Draco asked. Harry peeked at him to see that Draco's mind was racing.
"Severus told me that I was too young to date." Harry told the boy who sighed in relief before blushing and looking away while trying to act nonchalant/
"So, once you're old enough to start dating you'll be someone's boyfriend?" Draco asked and Harry blushed as Draco's teammates gave up on acting like they weren't listening.
"Well, um, yeah … I guess... I mean... that is, if the right person asks." Harry stuttered out as he refused to look at Draco as he picked at his cloak, knowing that if he looked at his friend then he would tell Draco all about his crush on him. The Weasley Twins words about Draco hating him if he knew about Harry's crush on him floated through his mind.
"And who's the right person?" Draco asked and Harry gave a small squeak of an answer as he barely caught himself from tell Draco that he was the right person. Harry sat on that bench, refusing to look at Draco while feeling the boy stare at him for a few minutes before Flint, the Slytherin Quidditch Captain entered the room in his uniform.
"Alright, anyone who is not on this team, leave!" Flint called out and Harry saw his chance to escape.
"Good luck." Harry told Draco before kissing Draco's cheek and ran out of the locker room. On the way to the stairs to the stadium, he ran into Ron and Hermione who were coming from the Gryffindor locker room.
"Oh!" Hermione cried as her and Harry barely stopped from running into each other again. "Hello Harry, we seem to like running into each other." The girl joked before she took note of the state Harry was in. "Your face is red." She told him in concern as she rushed over to him and placed her hand on his forehead. "You're not running a fever." She muttered before she began to tilt his face up to check if he recently had a nose bleed.
"I'm fine, Hermione." Harry told her as he gently removed her hands from his face as his blush began to leave. "Thank you for worrying, though." Hermione blushed in embarrassment. "We should hurry and find a seat, the game should be starting soon." As if on que, the crowed roared as the teams were announced. Hermione and Harry shared a look before they laughed as Ron scoffed.
The trio made their way up the winding staircase and into the stadium in time to see the teams give their final lap around the stadium. Hermione grabbed Harry's hand and began leading Harry through the crowed informing him the Neville and Ginny were saving them a seat. Harry allowed the young girl to lead him as his eyes wandered over to the quidditch teams. His eyes easily located Draco before finding Fred, George, and then Haiden. Harry smiled as he watched Draco showing off the speed of his new broom as Haiden easily dodged a bludger. Harry froze, pulling his hand from Hermione's grasp, when he noticed that the bludger had a magical aura around it.
Normal, non tampered with, bludgers didn't have a magical aura around it, because the magic that made it move was inside the bludger. The only time that a bludger had a magical aura around it was when someone had tampered with it, which was dangerous. Bludgers had specific enchantments that made sure to protect the players and the spectators so that neither would die from being hit by it. The enchantments controlled the speed, direction, and weight of the bludger, if tampered with, the bludger could become a killing machine. If that bludger wasn't dealt with, someone would die today.
Harry forced his way through the crowd trying to get as close to the field as he could, he needed to warn someone. As George gave the tampered with bludger a powerful whack in the direction of Adrian Pucey, Harry had made it to the edge of the stadium and began to try and yell out that the bludger had been tampered with. However, the roar of the crowed was too loud for anyone on the field to hear him. Harry watched in fear as the bludger changed direction in midair and shot straight for Haiden who put on a burst of speed and zoomed towards the other end of the field where Fred was waiting. Haiden ducked as Fred swung at the bludger with all his might, the bludger was knocked off course.
Harry's mind raced as he looked around, trying to figure out away way to get the attention of someone on the field, time was of essence. Harry closed his eyes, blocking everything out, as he tried to think. An old spell that he had read about popped into his mind, Harry quickly gathered his magic into his throat and whispered into his hands, his whispers taking the form of a bubble.
"Slytherin leads, sixty points to zero –" Lee Jordan announced as Harry blew his warning towards Fred and George, who had taken to flying close to Haiden to keep the bludger away from him. The bubble hit Fred who looked around him for a second before yelling over to George who quickly signaled to Wood for a time out as Fred stopped the bludger from breaking Haiden's nose. Wood got the message and a second later Madam Hooch's whistle rang out. Harry let out a sigh of relief as he watched as Haiden, Fred and George dive towards the ground as Fred and George kept the tampered with bludger away from Haiden.
The stadium fell into a confused silence as the Gryffindor team huddled up and seemed to be in a deep discussion as Madam Hooch made her way over to them while the Slytherin team jeered and pointed at Haiden. Harry hoped that the Gryffindor team would be smart enough to ask for an inquiry or tell Madam Hooch about the bludger, if they did that then the game would be put on hold until the teachers could sort out the bludger. Harry groaned and slammed his head against the railing when the Gryffindor team continued to play without informing Madam Hooch about the bludger, he should have just sent the bubble message to Madam Hooch!
Harry went to form another bubble message when something caused him to stop and look towards where the professors were sitting. A voice was whispering that if he preformed that spell again then he would be earning more of Dumbledore's attention, and that was something he didn't want.
Harry held his breath as Haiden climbed higher in the air with the bludger right behind him. Haiden looped, swooped, spiraled, zigzagged, and rolled but the bludger still followed him. Haiden hung upside down from his broom to dodge another fierce dive from the bludger. Harry quickly became angry as the crowed around him began to laugh, not realizing the seriousness of the situation. What Haiden was doing, though it may look silly, was actually saving his life. The bludger was heavy and couldn't change direction as quickly as Haiden could. It was also very frustrating that none of the professors had noticed the way the bludger was acting.
Harry nearly screamed when Draco called out to Haiden, causing the boy to pause and get hit by the bludger. Haiden slid sideways on his rain-drenched broom, one knee still crooked over it while his right arm dangled useless at his side. The bludger came pelting back for a second attack, this time aiming at Haiden's face. Haiden swerved out of the way at the last second before diving towards Draco who looked terrified for a split second as Harry took off for the stairs.
Once at the stairs, Harry quickly flew down them and out onto the field just in time to see his brother, snitch in hand, roll on the ground to dodge the bludger. Harry ran as fast as he could towards his brother as he rolled away from the bludger once more. Harry finally got to Haiden as the bludger came down a third time in between Haiden's legs, dangerously close to his lap. With the only thought of saving his brother, Harry magically exploded the bludger with a wave of his hand before it could hit his brother.
"YOU IDIOT!" Harry roared as he began to hit his brother. "I GIVE YOU A WARNING ABOUT A TAMPERED WITH BLUDGER AND INSTEAD OF TELLING MADAM HOOCH AND ENDING THE GAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO? YOU GO AND PLAY THE GAME WITH A TAMPERED WITH BLUDGER AFTER YOU!" The rest of the school was now beginning to make its way to the field.
"If we had ended the game, we would have had to forfeit the win to the Slytherins." Haiden tried to explain while using his good arm to try and block Harry's hits.
"NOT IF YOU HAD INFORMED MADAM HOOCH ABOUT THE TAMPERED WITH BLUDGER! SHE WOULD HAVE PAUSED THE GAME UNTIL THEY GOT IT SORTED! AND WHO BLOODY CARES ABOUT WHO WON!" Harry cried as Hermione and Ron got to them before the rest of the school.
"Watch it, Harry, I think my arm is broken!" Haiden cried.
"YOU'RE LUCKY THAT A BROKEN ARM IS ALL YOU GOT FROM THAT BLUDGER YOU BLOODY IDIOT!" Harry roared as Severus and Lockhart got to them. Severus pulled Harry away from Haiden and into a calming hug where Harry realized that not only was he crying but his magic was starting to get out of control. Harry quickly slipped behind Severus to try and reign in his emotions enough to get his magic back in control as Luna and Myari made their way through the crowd to him.
"Oh, no, not you." Harry heard Haiden moan.
"Doesn't know what he's saying." Lockhart said loudly to the anxious crowd. "Not to worry, Haiden. I'm about to fix your arm."
"No!" Haiden cried.
"Dumbledore's watching you." Luna quietly informed Harry who looked around Severus to see that Dumbledore was indeed watching him. "I think it's time we got back to the castle."
