A Delicious Plan
(^^)

Gabriel walked into the ice cream shop, glad to finally be out of the seemingly never-ending rain and the windy chill that accompanied it. He had been told that it was the best place for ice cream and gelato in the entire country, which was a claim that he was eager to test. He looked around, taking in the bright colors of the décor. That alone was very unusual for the country. Britian was not exactly known for its vivid decorations, typically living up to its history by being opulent but bland.

Then again, this particular ice cream parlor belonged to a woman whose skin was a dark macchiato instead of the same pale as most of the British. She had ink-black curls that she had pulled back from her face in a thick braid that hung to her hips. The eyes behind her eggplant purple glasses were a vivid macha. A strange scar, just like the rune sowilō, was etched in the middle of her forehead. Gabriel could sense the echoing stink of soul-rot from the symbol. His fingers itched to trace it and learn more.

From a bright blue radio on a shelf behind the register. It filled the shop with rock music that had the woman dancing behind the counter with the broom she was using to sweep the floor. The counter had two covered sections only accessible from where the employee was. The section farthest from the register had several large gallon drums. Each drum was full of ice cream and gelato of every color of the rainbow. The next section was full of smaller bins containing toppings ranging from the standard chopped nuts and fruit pieces to crumbled pastries and many, many different kinds of candy. Gabriel's mouth watered just imagining the different combinations possible. He was especially interested in the chunks of candy bar.

There was only one other person in the shop currently. She was another beauty that was exotic to these parts. Her skin was the color of perfectly baked gingersnaps with straight hair the color of licorice that was cut in a sharp pixie style. She had on a blood red linen sundress with irregular streaks of white and orange. On the table next to her was a mint green ceramic mug with what looked to be tea. The woman was drawing in a journal with a colored pencil from the metal case next to her mug. Whenever her cinnamon brown eyes flicked towards the dancing employee, her lips turned up at the edges in a way that reminded Gabriel of how his brother Castiel looked at Dean Winchester.

Something about the shop immediately put him at ease. He could feel the tension that had been following him since the start of the apocalypse melting off of him. Any doubts he had about stopping here after making it seem like Lucifer had succeed in killing him were drowned in the contentment radiating throughout the space. It was just what the doctor ordered, even before he had any of the sweet treats on offer.

Gabriel's eyes went back to the worker lost in her chore. He took a few steps closer to the register. The new angle allowed him to make out the features of the employee better. He couldn't help but feel immediately captivated by her beauty, just as he had once been captivated by a certain Hindu goddess. He could definitely understand what the other woman was felt for her. He could almost feel himself falling as he stood there waiting to be acknowledged.

"Oh," she gasped as she spotted him. On the bib of her little sailor outfit was a little gold nametag that said Harini written in plain black letters. She set the broom aside as she smiled at him. "I didn't hear the door bells announcing you. What are we creating today?"

He plastered on his most charming grin as he eyed the board over her head. He tried not to think about how this incredibly beautiful woman was actually shorter than him, which was a bit of a feat. It wasn't that he was particularly short, just shorter than most men were in this day and age. That did have the advantage when he wasn't feeling that particular gender, but it did mean that he wasn't taller than most modern women. He wondered idly if the other woman was taller or shorter than Harini.

"So," Gabriel said, looking down the counter at the selection again, "how exactly does this work?"

"You start by choosing ice cream, gelato, or sorbet," Harini explained. She walked down to the section with Gabriel following on his side of the coolers. "I don't recommend trying to mix them, but some people do. On a standard order, you can pick up to three flavors, one for each scoop. Then you pick your toppings. This time you can pick up to five options. They then get blended together before being put into cone or bowl of your choice."

"That sounds awesome." Gabriel looked over the choices, almost overwhelmed with the possible combinations available. He wanted to try them all right then. "Do you have any recommended combinations?"

"I love the coffee and mocha gelato combined treacle, fudge brownie, blueberries, caramel pieces, and blackberry sauce," Harini answered without hesitation. She nodded her head towards the sketching woman. "My wife there prefers strawberry sorbet and vanilla ice cream combined with lychee, raspberries, pomegranate seeds, parma violets, and wine gums."

"Sounds like your wife has interesting tastes," Gabriel quipped. Harini's grin only grew.

"I can't complain too much," Harini returned. "I'm one of the things Pansy has a taste for, after all."

"Certainly a reason to forgive her for mixing sorbet and ice cream," Gabriel agreed. Harini let out a laugh while Pansy let out a delicate snort and took a very pointed sip of her tea as she eyed them over the rim of the mug. He held his hands up in the universal sign for surrender. "No judgement from me, even if I would imagine that the texture would leave a lot to be desired."

Harini laughed again and said, "Most people judge her on the violets and wine gums."

"I actually have a cousin who would probably love that combination. He drinks wine like a fish. Gummy candy flavored like it might get him to try gummies."

"You'll have to bring him in some time then," Harini commented resting her arms lightly on the top of the cooler. "Sounds like he and Pansy would have a squabble over fine wines, and she does so love a good row now and again."

"Arranging a playdate, love?" Pansy called from her table nearby. She was eying Gabriel in the same way that he tended to look at candy. He found that he wouldn't be opposed to either woman eating him in the same way. It made it very difficult to remember that he had come in because he had wanted something sweet.

"Trying to," Harini answered. There was a gleam in her eye that made parts of him twitch in hopes of some attention. Pansy rose gracefully from her seat. As she came closer, Gabriel realized that she had a few inches on him. He shivered at the idea of being at her mercy.

He would probably love every second of it.

"Do you have a name, lovey?" Pansy asked quietly. It was on the tip of his tongue to answer with a joke. For centuries now he had used the name of the Norse trickster whose face he shared. Either answer would make more sense than what actually escaped when he opened his mouth.

"Gabriel, ma'am," Gabriel said. Pansy smiled with the same satisfaction as a predator successful in the hunt. He felt another shiver work its way through him. Pansy reached out to stroke the lapel of his jacket.

"Oh, I do like that," she commented lightly. "That's very respectful, Gabriel, and very good. Don't you agree, Hari?" Harini nodded so hard that her glasses slid down her nose slightly. Gabriel whined, which just made Pansy's smile grow. "Do you like flowers, Gabriel?"

"Yes, ma'am," he answered, unconsciously leaning towards her. Both women were watching him intently. "I love flowers."

"Good," she said, still stroking his jacket. Each pass made the back of her knuckles brush over his shirt. "What's your favorite topping?"

"You," he answered without thinking. Pansy laughed at his enthusiasm.

"That sounds like a delicious plan," she said with a wink aimed at Harini whose cheeks had taken on a delicate undertone of pink. Gabriel couldn't help but feel a spark of electricity between the three of them, and he knew in that moment that his life had just changed forever.
