Well, this is quite a short one. Still, considering that my mid-test is next week and school keeps dumping group projects, I think I've done a decent job.

Anyway, thanks for the support thus far.

Also, I'm opening OCs to the mix. So if you want it, make one and PM me for further information.

Revision: My web is bugged so the chapter isn't yet loaded. Decided to just re-do the whole thing.

Alex "Nomad" Thorpe

For the British, this kind of situation shouldn't get on his nerves whatsoever. The reason is his former occupation with the SBS, meaning that he used to face Black Ops for breakfast. But with unknown factors such as the SCPs thrown into the mix? That's an entirely different league from his usual pie. As for the Insurgency, he thought of them as nothing more than another terrorist group.

Still, a very different piece of pie.

But back to the matter at hand, which way? The answer is Falken's way. Because of course, listened to the man with a DMR in CQC.

Therefore now he led the group through the spacious hallway that should lead to the cafeteria while he cradled his HK416. Behind him are the Doctors and the shipwoman, while further back is the bird. In a surprising turn of events, Dr. Limburgh knows how to handle himself in combat situations, as evidenced by how he secured the flanks alongside Arkhangelsk with his borrowed M4A1. In addition, both eggheads are now properly protected with a chest rig. Which is a miracle considering half were broken beyond repair thanks to Arkhangelsk.

"Clear right" Arkhangelsk

"Clear left" Dr. Limburgh

Alex nodded as he heard the group through the intersection before resuming their journey through the hallway.

"How much more is the cafeteria?" The shipwoman asked as she guarded the right side.

"At the end of this hallway go left and we should have arrived"

The shipwoman wordlessly nods before going back to her position. Just then, his radio crackled to life with a chilling message.

[This is Juno team to anyone in this channel. The Insurgency is breaching the command section. I repeat. The command section is compromised. Requ-] The message was cut short by an explosion and a torrent of bullets.

For a while, the world stopped for Alex as he knew the implications. Unknown to him, both Falken and Arkhangelsk received that message as well. Freezing them both thus making the group dead in their tracks.

"Why are we stopping?" Dr. Rose asked not knowing what happened.

"Well, that's a detour I supposed" Falken lamented after a heavy sigh.

"We can't. We're just simply too few to retake it" Arkhangelsk reasoned hard.

"I know, Arkhangelsk. But that's the only way" Countered Nomad.

"It's the control room, isn't it?" Dr. Limburgh cut the debate as he kept his position still.

With a heavy sigh, Nomad nods, causing the male doctor to curse and flail his AR around in frustration.

"Is there something I should know?" Dr. Rose's confused voice popped into the awful atmosphere.

"Anyone controls the command section, controls the Site." A short explanation from Arkhangelsk.

"Turrets, cameras, gates. All of them." Falken added.

"Therefore the control room is now our utmost priority, no matter what" Nomad finished before sighing. "We're lucky that the containment chamber's control is self-sufficient."

"But that doesn't make our situation any better, mate" Falken chimed in.

"Still, any better options?"

"…We don't…" Arkhangelsk sighed in defeat. "But no direct assault if the worst is to come. We're going to be a pest rather than a substantial threat to them"

"Then it's clear, the command section is now our utmost priority. Any objections?"

Arkhangelsk tilted her head at the two doctors present, which brought up a good point. They would just be baggage if a firefight happened, even with Dr. Limburgh's training.

"Dr. Limburgh, do you know where is the nearest rec room from here?"

"I… think so. Why?"

"Both you and Dr. Rose go there and barricade yourself in." Nomad then takes off his radio before throwing it at Dr. Limburgh. "Radio us if there's any problem, and maybe a SitRep once in a while. Sounds good?"

Limburgh nods and starts to walk away in the opposite direction. Dr. Rose glanced at Arkhangelsk with worry, to which the Russian shipwoman replied with a reassuring nod, before following the man and after a while disappearing beyond the hallway.

"So, same as before?" Falken asked while he double-checked his DMR.

"Arkhangelsk?" The Russian wordlessly nod

"Then that's the plan. Let's go"

With that, they resumed their walk through the current hallway but instead of going left, they proceeded to the right and made their way to the center of the Site.

Jdfchs "Phoenix" Ddxjipluz

One thing Phoenix learned from the Foundation's defensive doctrine was that they'll be anchoring hard with zeal, in other words, a thorough CQC situation where her enemies have the position advantage. Her opposition is currently holding down the last defensive line composed of catwalk, ledges, and automatic covers. Positioned between Phoenix's team and the enemy is a small bridge-like structure that offers zero protection to the attacking force, a choke point. The foundation's dogs were mostly armed with ARs, though she can also hear some fast muzzles, probably fixed emplacement.

Overall, a tough nut to crack, especially within this kind of environment. But Phoenix knows how to crack this nut, and they've brought the exact tool for it.

"Prophet, this is Phoenix. Requesting another blackout. Over." Phoenix called to the radio as her SOPMOD let loose some rounds and hit one of them on the catwalk.

[Understood. Last blackout in 10. Make it count] Their handler replied a minute later before breaking contact.

"Blackout in ten, ladies! Prep or get blind" Phoenix called out to the rest of her teammates before donning her thermal while the rest were doing the same.

Exactly as Prophet said, the room suddenly plunged into darkness ten seconds later. Already prepared, Phoenix throws a cooked grenade towards the catwalk, resulting in the MTF members that using it to be splashed with deadly shrapnels.

[Thirty seconds] Phoenix nods as she pulls the AR's bolt back before releasing it.

"Henja, Tolka. Suppressed those dogs. The rest, on me!" Her men obeyed her order as she dashed towards the bridge while Henja and Tolka laid down bullets range with their MGs.

The impromptu plan worked as the Foundation's hounds were pinned behind their cover, unable to shoot thanks to the combination of bullets and darkness. Phase one of the plan, crossing the bridge, is done. Now, phase two.

Kill them all.

With a slide, Phoenix managed to enter a cover just before the MTFs recuperated from the blindness and opened fire. The result isn't great, two of the seven men team that followed her across got caught in the crossfire, killing them instantly. The rest take up a position of cover or engage in hand-to-hand combat with the Foundations.

With a deep breath, Phoenix leans out of her cover and unloads her magazine. Three got caught, two center mass, and one headshot. Her teammates did the same, some with less success than her but a kill is a kill. Knowing that her men will cover her Phoenix pushed forward, shooting at anyone who peeks out of their covers. After around five steps Phoenix retracts into a ledge before reloading her rifle. The rest of her men made a steady push, using their numbers and firepower capacity to the field.

Her enemies know this, hence why they're steadily falling back into the command room before locking the steel vault closed. The dogs think they're safe behind their defense structure, but Phoenix intends to change that. They've gone this far, and a failure is not acceptable

Based on her briefing, the door dimension is 3 meters long, 3 meters high, and 1,5 meters thick. Built with cutting-edge locking mechanism and anomalous material making the door nigh impenetrable. Almost, safe for the material weakness for internal combustion.

"Barnes, Thumper. You got the hinges. Thera, X-Ray. Me and pollux will handle the drills. Rest of you, perimeter duty."

The five, including Phoenix, dropped their duffel bags and pulled out its content, while the rest of the ten men team spread themselves out. For Barnes and Thumper, sets of thermite charges and drills. For Thera, a high-intensity X-ray scanner and hollow charge. For Phoenix and Pollux, a heavy-duty drill with an obsidian piece each.

With trained movement, they began working on the drill. Barnes and Thumper hollowed the hinges before stuffing thermites inside. Thera guides Phoenix and Pollux on where to drill before planting the hollow charge. In just under a minute the whole operation was done and the team retreated to cover.

"Stand clear!" Phoenix announced while the thermite burned the hinges off from the door and the wall.

For some seconds the place was illuminated with brightness beyond what human eyes could handle before slowly dissipating.

"Blow it."

The hollow charge pushed its payload into the hole as it spread across the Vault door's internal structure in milliseconds before violently ripping the massive door backward with a loud crash.

The Insurgency quickly rushed into the room with guns at the ready, killing everyone inside whether they were armed or not. Ten seconds later, the command room is cleared with bodies of Foundation staff slumped everywhere.

"Prophet, this is Alpha. Command section is secured. I repeat. The command section is ours. Sitrep on others. Over." Phoenix asked while the rest of her team started to take over the command controls.

[Acknowledge. Bravo had successfully retrieved Beta. Delta is currently clearing the perimeter. No words from Charlie yet, presumably KIA]

"Is objective Aleph already in custody?" Phoenix motioned her men to cycle through the cameras.

[Negative. Objective Aleph is currently on the run]

"Ma'am!" One of her men, Pollux, called as he relayed camera footage into the screen. Showing objective Aleph is currently engaging the rest of Charlie alongside two MTF members.

"Prophet. Got eyes on Aleph, around a hundred meters from our position. Permission to intercept. Over" Phoenix reloaded her SOPMOD with a fresh magazine.

[Permission granted. I'm giving you a quarter of Bravo for support. Retrieve Aleph immediately, our window is getting low. Prophet out.]

"Alright, you heard the man. Pollux, Thera, you stay and be our eyes. Thumper, Barnes, Tolka, you three perimeter duty. The rest, on me."

Her orders met with a chorus of affirmation as she and part of her team exited the room and stalked the hallway.

The hunt has begun
