Paralogue Seven: Back in the Classroom

"Mr. Vaughn, now that you've found your footing here at Uva Academy, we'd like you to take your teaching load to four courses, rather than two." Director Clavell had called Markus into his office. "We'd like for you to teach the university choir class." Markus blinked twice in surprise.

"We have a choir?" He asked as he thought for a moment. "And you want me to do the lecture and the lab for that in addition to two sections of 351?" Dr. Clavell nodded. "Shit, alright. That sounds fun." Dr. Clavell passed a form to Markus. "Here's the curriculum for beginning show choir. We look forward to seeing what you can do." He said as Markus stood.

"I hope I don't disappoint." He said, hand on the doorknob. "And Markus," Dr. Clavell said, sternly. "I know you and Nurse Miriam are an item, and I trust you won't let that relationship interfere with your working relationship." Markus shook his head and assured the director that everything would remain above board between them on school grounds. Then he headed out and made his way to Miriam's office.

"Did you get the talk too? She asked as she saw Markus enter. She was currently swabbing the nose of a student, so she didn't look up. Markus said as Miriam peeled off her gloves and washed her hands. "Same." She muttered. "Anyway, what are we doing tonight?" She asked as Markus grabbed a chair.

"I was thinking we have a dinner somewhere nice, like the Treasure Eatery over across the crater. I'm told the food is delicious." He smiled at Miriam. "Sound good?" Miriam nodded. "Sounds like fun, when are we leaving?" Markus thought for a second.

"When you work 'til?" he asked. Miriam chuckled "I leave here at 7:30 tonight." Markus's grin could have been seen from space. He gave Miriam a hug, then headed out of the office to go plan his choir courses.
