Wrong Call
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail
I did say I would be back in September, and so I am back. My schedule, asides from a couple weeks of covering for a coworker, is pretty much locked in and I've finally got the last box unpacked.
I apologize for how short this chapter is, it's been chaotic, but I did manage to squeeze time in for this chapter amongst it all.
Enjoy!
2 years later, June 23rd
Igneel and crew decided to handle a job making sure to leave the next generation in charge of things until they got back.
"C'mon dad, we can handle this." Natsu growls out.
"Son, sometimes you need to know when and where you are needed. This job is easy, let me and the old crew handle this. Since I'm retiring in a couple of weeks anyway." Igneel chuckles. Natsu lets out a snort in indignation but smirks anyway.
"Fine you stubborn old bastard." Natsu chuckles. Like he could honestly tell his father no.
"Don't worry brat, I'll be back in time for your birthday." Igneel laughs as he and the others leave. Natsu watches as his father goes to leave, a weird foreboding feeling in his gut.
"Hey pops." Natsu calls out. Igneel tilts his head back to look at his son.
"Love ya." Igneel chuckles, catching Natsu's cheeks dusting pink before he smirks back and nods.
"One last ride you old fuckers!" Metalicanna laughs.
June 25th
It wasn't until they arrive at the location that they become aware that this was a set up and they had walked right into it.
They were surrounded by over one hundred people and watching from on high they could see Mard Geer, Jiemma, Jose and Ivan. Igneel had but a moment before all hell was about to break loose, and he took that moment to send a seven word text to Natsu.
There's a mole. I love you son.
Within an hour, of the hundred or so lackeys there, all but five of them, not counting the four leaders, were down. However, only Igneel and Metalicanna were left standing, just barely. Jiemma and Jose walked over to the two men, guns drawn.
"Any last words before we send you to hell and watch as your empire falls?" Jose laughs with Jiemma wearing a sick grin. A young woman with long black hair watched, a smile on her face until she saw the two men smile. And then they laughed.
"You fucked up. My son is stronger than me. He is already twice the man I was at that age. Prepare for his awakening you cocky bastard." Igneel laughs.
"Those young men will rip your paltry little army to shreds and laughs as you wallow in filth. Your consistent doubt in the young people will be your undoing." Metalicanna laughs.
Two gun shots go off and the king and general of the old generation fall.
Two weeks later, July 7th
Most new dons celebrate with a lavish party involving food, booze and women. Natsu decided that he wanted to celebrate in a different way. He and his crew had found where his father had sent his last text from, recovered their bodies and laid them to rest. They had discovered the mole and after prying every ounce of information from the rat and slowly disposed of him. Natsu decided that today, on his eighteenth birthday, he would give a gift instead of receiving one. His network was much better than Jiemma and Jose could ever hope for theirs to be. Calmly walking up the sidewalk of Jiemma's home, Sting at his side, his blue eyes electric as he carried a small bag with him. It was just barely two in the morning as Natsu put on his black leather gloves, unzipped the bag and pulled out half of the unfortunate informants head. Gajeel and Rogue had the other half and were presently delivering it to Jose. He placed it carefully on the porch of the moderately sized manor, noting the lack of security cameras, and the ones they did have, Natsu made sure Laxus had disabled them.
A smirk danced on Natsu's lips as he left a small note pinned to the forehead of the head before he and Sting left, but not before Sting spat on the face of the dead man.
"Why don't we just blow them up?" Sting asks as he and Natsu drive off.
"Oh, you know me. I like to play with my food." Natsu chuckles. Sting smirks at him.
"Yes, your body count says that." Sting chuckles, referring to the over fifty women Natsu had taken to bed.
"Besides, that's too easy. These old codgers think they're better than us, yet their resources are amateur at best. I want them paranoid and fucking terrified before I kill them." Natsu laughs as they drive back to their home. Sting knew that in a couple years he would be back in his families main estate, but right now, he still lived with Natsu and Zeref, even though Zeref was having his own home built for him and his wife Mavis.
At seven that morning, both Jiemma and Jose go to leave their homes and as they leave they see the grotesque gift on their porch with a note pinned onto the head. Leaning down to pick up said note, they quickly realize that their security system was breached entirely for this to have happened. Opening their notes their mistake sinks in their stomachs as they read the simple note.
Prepare for war.
In Jiemma's note was the symbol of the fire and white dragons, and in Jose's note was the symbol of the shadow and iron dragons.
"You fucked up."
Jiemma and Jose growl in anger as the last words of Igneel ring in their ears with the realization that he was, once again, even dead, rightfully laughing at their misfortune.
Hope you all enjoyed this short chapter. I shall return in October! Until then, please R&R!
