Chapter 6: Political Plots

Lurolona

It was seven in the morning, and the four Cardinal Heroines were awake and busy. Some tasks needed to be done before the meeting with the leaders of the great nations of the world. Namely, the way their companions looked. Peach had suggested that since she and the other heroines had to change their clothing for this world, so should their companions. They had reservations about this, especially Mario since the clothes he wore were the same ones he had when fighting god-like beings such as Dreamy Bowser and Super Dimentio. He was sure they were stronger than anything the local blacksmiths could make. But Peach said that they just needed clothes or gear to match the style in this world. With the power stars Mario had brought, they could just transform their current gear or clothing to look like the clothing they would buy.

Mario, Fox, Sonic, and Link relented and agreed with the plan. Amy and Sonic would stay in the woods for now, so Sonic could level up, while the others went clothes shopping. Sonic was sixteen, after all, so he would be affected by the level-up system in this world. While this was happening, the others were up on the space station, watching over Lurolona. Thanks to the teleport system, anyone could be there in an instant if needed. But, they still thought it would be best if someone was there in town to keep watch. They would take turns and today was Luigi, Daisy, and Rino's turn to watch the village. Meanwhile, Neia was training with Buliaria at the request of Zelda and Link since they wouldn't be able to today.

"Not bad little vai. It seems the hero Link has done well in training you."

"Thank you, Buliaria."

Neia said as she swung her sword, but Buliaria parried and knocked it out of Neia's hands.

"Remember, do not just swing your blade. Keep a firm grip, and wait for the opportune moment to strike. Attacking recklessly only creates openings."

"Right."

Neia picks up her sword and gets in a stance.

"You have grit, very good."

Buliaria continues to train Neia while the Knuckles speaks with Espio about Raphtalia and Rifana. The main topic was how to train them. Amy already explained how the level-up system works for demi-humans, so they need to raise their levels first, but what then? They can't just give them a sword and expect them to know how to use it. That's when Epio had an idea. For now, they'll give them short swords to fight with, but after they grow they'll have Raphtalia and Rifana try different weapons. To find out what their fighting style should be.

With the Star Fox team, Fox agreed to let Keel join them. Slippy even suggested that Keel should be a permanent member of Krystal's group. His reasoning, having a local of this world be a member of the heroine's party would make the people more trusting of them. Krystal and Fox thought that this was a good idea and agreed to it. So, while Fox and Krystal were at the meeting in Faubrey, it was left to Falco, Katt, and Peppy to train young Keel. The other members were with Slippy, going over the stealth functions of their ships. They would be unseen air support, watching the heroines and aiding when necessary. They would also do reconnaissance of the lands and scatter drones around the major nations. The drones Tails, Slippy, and Purah made ranged from stationary, to flying, to crawling drones that resembled Terrako. Each of these drones had a stealth function as well, so no one would be the wiser.

"Ok kid, just look down the sights and aim it at the targets."

Falco instructed Keel. They were teaching Keel how to fire a blaster before they headed down to Earth to help him level up. Keel aimed the blaster and fired. He hit all three targets.

"Not bad kid, but now let's try moving targets."

Falco nodded to Katt, who pushed a button on the target range. Now three new targets were up and they were moving side to side. Keel aimed once again and fired. He missed a few shots but was quickly gaining the hang of using the blaster. He managed to strike the three targets eventually.

"Okay, you need improvement, but not too bad for a first-timer."

"So, when do we head down to the forests? I'm ready to level up!"

"Keep your pants on kid. First, we need to get ready. Falco and Katt, get your gear ready. You two will be going with him to the planet."

Peppy said.

"Man, I'd much rather stay in an arwing."

"Oh, come on, Falco. A ground mission sounds fun. Don't you want to explore this new world?"

"I can do that with the arwing, Katt."

"Is it because you're afraid?"

"What? I ain't afraid of nothing!"

"Then get ready and let's go. Unless you're too scared."

Katt teased Falco while he just gritted his teeth.

"Why you, fine! Let's get going already!"

Falco went to get his reflector and some grenades if they needed them. Once they had everything ready, the group went to the teleportation area. They saw Knuckles and Espio there with Raphtalia and Rifana. Raphtalia noticed Keel and waved at him.

"Hey, Keel! Heading down to level up?"

"Yeah, so what weapons did you two get?"

"They gave us short swords for now, but once we grow up we're going to try different weapons to see which ones we like best."

Rifana answered. While the three were talking, Purah was inputting the coordinates for teleportation.

"Alright, coordinates set. You all will be sent into the woods around Lurolona. Make sure to train hard, the next wave is only two weeks away and we need all the manpower we can get."

The group nodded at Purah before they were surrounded by light. The group was then teleported down to the planet. Thankfully, this teleportation was more subtle. It was the same as when Link teleports using the sheikah slate. The bright flash of light was added to the last teleportation to get the knights' attention and direct the focus from Lurolona to the heroines.

Two hours later in Faubrey

The meeting between the leaders of the four great nations was going to commence soon. The guards were ordered to wait for the Cardinal Heroines' arrival and guide them to the meeting, but they did not show up.

"Where are they?"

"Do you think they refused to meet with the leaders?"

"I don't see why. The Spear is the one who wanted this meeting."

The two guards were getting anxious when,

"Ahem."

They quickly turned, startled by the sound. When they did, they saw the Cardinal Heroines there with four other companions.

"Sorry for the wait. We needed to get ready before meeting your leaders."

Peach explained.

"What, where, when, how did you get there?"

One guard asked, confused that neither he nor his partner saw the Heroines approach.

"We can get to anywhere we want without being seen. Now, please take us to your leaders."

While not understanding Peach's explanation, they accepted it and guided the heroines to the meeting room. In the meeting room, the leaders of Faubrey, Zeltoble, Siltvelt, and Shieldfreeden are there along with Queen Mirellia of Melromarc. After hearing the reports from their shadows and how much power the four heroines and their companions seemed to have, they were eager to meet them. Of course, this didn't stop the leaders from throwing jabs at the Mirellia for the current situation.

"To think, that the great "Staff Hero" would be so foolish as to make an enemy of our Shield Goddess. Oh, how the mighty have fallen."

Trinock, a tiger demi-human and prime minister of Siltvelt, said aloud. Queen Mirellia was annoyed by the comment, but couldn't help but agree. It was extremely foolish of her husband to do such a thing.

"I agree, it was foolish, but his actions do not reflect all of Melromarc. As the reports from our shadows stated, many citizens and nobles support the heroines' actions. Eclair Seaetto, daughter of the late Lord Seaetto, has even joined them in their fight."

Mirellia said in response, but Trinock scoffed at her words.

"Even so, if the current ruling nobles and your husband commit these atrocities when you leave, should Melromarc be entrusted with a heroine? Who's to say that, once all the heroines are sent to their proper kingdoms, your husband and the other bigoted nobles won't poison her mind? They might convince her to wage war against Siltvelt, Shieldfreeden, or any of the other kingdoms that do not have a hero. After all, you won't be there forever. You have other duties that cause you to leave the kingdom for months at a time. Leaving the Bow Heroine at the mercy of your racist husband who has already tried to harm the heroines because they didn't agree with him. I move that the Bow Heroine be sent to a more deserving kingdom."

While Trinock's words sound as though they are coming from concern for the heroines' safety, in truth he just wanted Melomarc as weak as possible. He already had plans to start a war with Melromarc once the Shield Heroine was in Siltvelt. If the the Bow Heroine was not in Melromarc it would make conquering the kingdom even easier. But Mirellia would not let that happen!

"Lord Trinock, are you suggesting that Melromarc be left defenseless against the waves? Is this your form of retribution for the previous war Siltvelt lost, the one your former king started? If so, then perhaps Siltvelt should not be entrusted with a heroine."

Trinock was angered by her words, but before he could say anything King Faubrey spoke up.

"Enough of that now. We haven't even met the heroines and we're already starting to fight each other. Do not forget, the shadows reports have also stated that the heroines do not trust any of the kingdoms, thanks to King Aultcray's actions. If they see us fighting like this, they may abandon the kingdoms altogether. They do have some base in the sky, after all, and they can summon allies from their world. If they decide it, they could conquer our world if they see fit."

While King Faubrey spoke true, Mirellia knew to be wary of him. He was the older brother of her husband after all, and he told her of all his faults. Though, she didn't need Aultcray to know of his insatiable lust for women. He had earned the title of "Pig King" by the other nations and it was well known how poorly he treated women. It was a common punishment for noble women to be sent off to be his next wife. Most didn't make it as they would take their own life upon learning of their fate.

King Faubrey's words caused Trinock to stop himself. It was true, the heroines' companions seemed to be just as strong, and if there was a small army of them no kingdom stood a chance. Trinock sat down and began to formulate a new plan for the Shield Heroine and her companions. Since the Shield Hero was a woman she couldn't breed a lineage of heirs with the noble ladies of Siltvelt. Plus, she couldn't fight the waves if she was pregnant. But her companions on the other hand. If the shadow's reports were true perhaps they should breed a lineage of heirs. He could see it now, soldiers with unmatched speed and unsurmountable strength.

Mirellia noticed the grin forming on Trinock's face and she didn't like it. But that didn't matter right now, what mattered was speaking to the heroines and making things right. These were the last people who should be enemies of Melromarc and she needed to make sure they knew that it was the church and her husband's foolish choice to try and slight them. Soon the doors opened and one of the guards came in.

"Presenting, the four Cardinal Heroines and their companions."

The guard moved to the side so the heroines could enter. Peach, Amy, Krystal, and Zelda came in along with Mario, Sonic, Fox, and Link. The four heroines were wearing the armor Erhard had made for them, but three of the four heroes were wearing something different than their usual clothing.

Mario was wearing a red fedora with the letter M engraved on a medal on it. He also wore a red overcoat with a white shirt underneath. He also wore white pants with black boots and a large black belt. Finally, he had a brown cross-body bag. In it were white marbles that Mario would crush before using any of his power-ups. The reason is to keep the power-ups a secret and trick others into thinking Mario's abilities came from these marbles.

Sonic was now slightly taller than Amy and wore blue pants and a blue jacket over his shoulders, keeping his chest exposed.

Fox was wearing his assault outfit. A white vest with red pauldrons and boots. His green jumpsuit covers his body, arms, and legs. He also wore white gloves and, at Krystal's suggestion, had a red military beret and sunglasses to complete the look of a soldier. He had his blaster holstered at his hip and thanks to Slippy's new weapon transfer system could summon any of his other weapons like Link does.

Link, thankfully, didn't have to change his look since his clothing already fit in with the world.

While they were walking in, the leaders of the great nations were watching them carefully. Gauging their strength and observing how they carried themselves. King Faubrey was watching the four heroines with eyes of lust.

"I don't normally like demi types, but the Sword and Shield are exceptionally lovely. Perhaps I should find ways to spend a night with each of them? Oh, the pleasures I could show them."

King Faubrey thought to himself. Krystal had heard his thoughts and was disgusted by him, but did not show it. She would tell the others about it later. Soon, King Faubrey and the others stood up to give a greeting to the four heroines.

"Greetings, Cardinal Heroines. We are honored that you decided to join us for this important meeting. Please, take a seat."

King Faubrey said as he gestured to four empty chairs.

"Hmm, why are there only four chairs?"

Peach asked.

"Well, Lady Spear, we expected only the Cardinal Heroines to show up. We weren't expecting your friends."

King Faubrey explained.

"Does that mean you see our companions as lesser than? Are you disrespecting our friends?"

"No, no, no, no! Of course not, Lady Spear. Hey! Bring more chairs!"

King Faubrey ordered one of the servants. Soon, four more chairs were brought and everyone sat down to start the meeting.

"Now for introductions, I am King Faubrey of the Faubrey kingdom. This is Prime Minister Trincock from Siltvelt. This is Chieko, a representative from Shieldfreeden. This is Zalib of Zeltoble. And finally, this is Queen Mirellia of Melromarc. Now then, what issue should we start with?"

King Faubrey asked. That is when Trinock stood up.

"I believe it's best to start the discussion with Melromarc's blatant breach of the international agreement and its unfair treatment towards the Shield Heroine."

Trinock said, earning a glare from Mirellia.

"As I explained before, my foolish husband and the church committed these acts."

"And? It is still a breach of the agreement between the great nations and doesn't excuse the crimes committed against the Shield Heroine. These actions are enough to call for war!"

"You would risk war while the threat of the waves looms over our heads, Trinock? Need I remind you of the numerous losses we have all sustained with the first appearance of the waves? Waging a war now is nothing short of foolishness."

Trinock growled at Mirellia's statement. That is when King Faubrey spoke.

"She is right. Our priority should be stopping the waves for now. We can discuss reparations from Melromarc at a later date."

"I agree."

The leader from Shieldfreeden said. This was Chieko, a female kitsune with white fur that turned red at the tips of her ears and tails as well as red markings around her eyes and cheeks.

"Hmph, I suppose."

Trinock said as he sat back down.

"Now, how about the heroines introduce themselves first? May we have your names?

"Very well. I am Peach, the Spear Heroine."

"My name is Krystal, the Sword Heroine."

"I am Zelda, the Bow Heroine."

"And I'm Amy Rose, the Shield Heroine."

The leaders nodded at the introductions.

"Ah, so Lady Peach, Lady Krystal, Lady Zelda, and Lady Amy, good. Now, how about your companions? Care to introduce them."

King Faubrey asked.

"Of course, you could consider them our right hands. This is Mario, my right hand and the greatest hero in my world."

Peach said as Mario tipped his hat to the leaders.

"Seems a bit small for a hero."

Trinock said in a dismissive tone.

"Don't let his size fool you. He's fought beings that could be considered gods and won."

The leaders in the room were hesitant to believe this but then remembered their shadows' reports.

"I see, I see. And the others?"

King Faubrey said to continue the introductions. Krystal decided to go next.

"This is Fox Mccloud, hero of Corneria. The land where we hail from."

While what Krystal said wasn't the complete truth, she wasn't about to try and explain the Lylat System to these people.

"This is Link, hero of Hyrule and my most trusted knight."

Zelda explained.

"And this is Sonic, the hero of my world."

Amy said. With the introductions finished, King Faubrey started the next topic of discussion.

"Good, then it's time to discuss the next order of business. The waves, and the plan to defeat them."

"I believe it is best if the heroines went to their designated kingdoms to help stop the waves, as was agreed upon in the international agreement."

Chieko said, with Trinock nodding in agreement. Mirellia sat there quietly, watching for how the heroines reacted.

"A fair suggestion, perhaps the international agreement can be salvaged. What say you, Cardinal Heroines?"

King Faubrey asked. Peach lifted her head and looked at the leaders, who were waiting for her answer.

"Before I give our answer, I want to ask a few questions. Will that be okay?"

"Of course, Lady Peach. We will answer to the best of our abilities."

King Faubrey answered.

"Okay, first, the waves are happening across the world, not just in Melromarc, correct?"

The leaders nodded.

"So, does that mean each nation has an hourglass then?"

"Yes it does, Lady Peach. There is one in Zeltoble, Siltvelt, Shieldfreeden, and Faubrey. Even smaller, less powerful nations have an hourglass."

Zalib, the Zeltoble representative, explained. His appearance matched that of an Arabian merchant to a t. He wore a colorful thawb, with a tiger skin over one of his shoulders, and he wore various pieces of expensive jewelry. He also had a thick imperial-style mustache.

"So we would have to synchronize with all the hourglasses as we did in Melromarc then?"

"Yes, you would, Lady Peach. Wait, did you just say you four synchronized with Melromarc's hourglass already?"

"Yes, I did. It was one of the first things we did when we arrived in this world."

"I see, then you will always be teleported to Melromarc when a wave appears there. That is a problem."

"Perhaps they should disconnect from Melromarc's hourglass so they may focus on their designated kingdoms?"

Chieko suggested.

"Is such a thing possible? We have never heard of a hero disconnecting from an hourglass before."

Mirellia said.

"We don't know, but it is worth a try. Otherwise, Melromarc will still have dominion over the Cardinal Heroes. And it certainly doesn't deserve it, especially after its crimes against the Shield Hero!"

Trinock added.

"Oh, we already have a solution for that."

Peach said, getting the attention of the representatives.

"We're going to synchronize with all the hourglasses."

"What!?"

The representatives said in shock.

"Yes, it makes the most sense. We want to end the waves as soon as possible, so it makes sense to synchronize with all the hourglasses so we can better fight them. It would be best if we worked together after all."

"Even so, Lady Peach, to synchronize with each hourglass. What if two waves happen at the same time? What then?"

"Well, King Faubrey, we will decide how we divide our forces. We know our strengths best and how to use them, or are you saying that we shouldn't have the freedom to make our own decisions? That we should just follow what you all say. Is that what you're suggesting?"

"No, no, no, of course not. It's just, to fight every wave around in all the nations, it seems a bit much."

"It's the quickest way to get home."

"Are you sure about that? Even when the waves are defeated, we don't have the magic or tools to send you home. In all of our old scriptures, the Cardinal Heroes stayed after defeating the waves. Perhaps you should consider this world your new home and take the time to know it better."

Trinock added, not wanting the Shield God to leave.

"You don't need to worry about that. We already have a way home."

Amy said.

"What!? How!?"

Trinock asked with the others curious as well.

"Just as we can summon allies from our world, they can bring us back. It's just these weapons that keep us here."

Amy answered while waving her shield.

"Once the waves are done and the weapons release us, we're going home."

"Are you sure about that, Lady Amy? Once the waves are defeated you will be treated like a god. Honored and worshipped by all of Siltvelt. I assure you, we can treat you better than your old home."

Trinock said to Amy, trying to convince her to stay.

"I have family and friends back in my old world. Are you saying I should abandon my old life and leave them?"

"Well, Lady Amy, just think of it as an ascension into godhood. I'm sure your friends and family would understand why you would stay here if they knew how well we treated you."

Trinock said with a grin, but Amy was unmoved by his proposal.

"No, after the waves, I'm going home. Period."

"But,"

"I said period! It means done! Decision made, I'm not changing my mind!"

Amy shouted.

"She speaks for all of us. We all want to go home. After all, the summoning ritual essentially kidnapped us to fight your battles. Something we neither asked for nor wanted."

Peach added.

"But, Lady Spear, surely becoming a legendary hero is better than the mundane life you were leading."

King Faubrey said, but Peach was angered by this.

"Mundane? Do you think my life was mundane? Let me clarify, before becoming the Spear Hero, I was Princess Peach and I ruled over my kingdom. My life was anything, but mundane."

Peach's words shocked the representatives.

"And that's not all. Zelda is also a princess with a kingdom to rule, Krystal flew amongst the stars, and Amy was an adventurer and hero in her world. We are not tempted by the title of "Legendary Hero" you offer. You took us from our worlds and our friends, who were able to traverse between worlds, came to aid us. But the same can be said in reverse, we can leave whenever we want, we just don't want to leave you helpless against the waves."

"What do you mean by that, Lady Peach."

Mirellia asked in concern.

"If we decide to leave without defeating the waves, the weapons come with us. They are stuck to us after all, and we discovered that it'll stay like that until we die. Of course, since we'll be safe back home, who knows when that'll be. Meanwhile, you will still have the waves breathing down your necks, but with no Cardinal Heroes to help fight them. Oh, and if you try to summon us again, we have ways to stop that."

Peach's words shocked the representatives and they began to talk amongst themselves. Now while Peach lied about what would happen if they left, she figured this would be better than telling them the truth. After all, she wasn't completely wrong. It was discovered that they could use the power of the Star Spirits and the Chaos Emeralds to leave but the weapons would stay stuck to them. At least until they got home, Rosalina theorized that the powers of the Cardinal Weapons would weaken if they left their home multiverse. Once the representatives were done talking, Mirellia spoke up.

"Lady Peach, since you have a way home, but decided not to take it, can we assume you and the other three heroines wish to help?"

"Yes, Queen Mirellia, we would like to save this world from the waves."

Peach's words seemed to put the representatives at ease.

"But don't misunderstand. We'll assist you in defeating the waves, but we'll fight the waves our way. We are not your pawns and will not be treated as such. Any kingdom that tries to treat any one of the Cardinal Heroines or their companions as such will face severe consequences."

"Such as you not aiding in fighting the waves."

Chieko said.

"That's if you're lucky. You want to find out how far we'll go, piss us off and find out."

The representatives grew tense at this warning. If what Peach said is true, then they could leave and take the weapons with them. But if they decided to retaliate, that would be disastrous. Their full strength is still unknown and just what they've shown so far is enough to be considered a major threat on par with the waves.

"Very well, we will leave fighting the waves to the Cardinal Heroines and will offer aid however we can."

King Faubrey said.

"Good, now do Faubrey and Zeltoble discriminate against demi-humans?"

"No, Lady Peach, we do not. I can assure you."

"The same could be said of Zeltoble."

King Faubrey and Zalib answered.

"Good, then we'll have no problems there. Now, I understand that Siltvelt and Shieldfreeden are similar to Melromarc, but it's humans that are discriminated against, correct?"

"Yes, that is correct."

Trinock answered. He decided it would be best to be honest and not anger the heroines.

"You'll have to fix that."

"What do you mean by that?"

Chieko asked.

"What she means is that we don't want to face any discrimination when we go to synchronize with your hourglasses. I don't want to hear anyone call my friends "Spear Devil, Sword Devil, or Bow Devil". We heard enough of that in Melromarc."

Amy explained. Mirellia couldn't help but frown at that. After all the work she did to try and end the discrimination of demi-humans and the Shield Hero, both her husband and the church go against it any chance they get. And now her kingdom is left in a precarious position, not only with the other kingdoms but with the Cardinal Heroines as well.

"We will take care of that. We assure you that there will be no actions taken against your fellow heroines, Lady Amy."

"Hmm, okay then."

Amy responded to Trinock.

"Good, let's continue with the discussion."

King Faubrey said with everyone else agreeing.

Meanwhile, at Melromarc

Aultcray was in the throne room surrounded by knights. When he entered this morning he found a gift in front of his throne. Cautious of this mysterious present, he called for his knights. Now, while he was surrounded by a group of knights, two others carefully approached the gift with two mages with them. When they were close enough, the mages cast an appraisal spell on the box.

"Hmm, it appears that there is no trap magic or curse magic around the box."

"I see. Open it then."

Aultcray ordered.

"Yes sir."

The knights carefully grabbed the ribbons on the box and began to slowly open it. Suddenly the gift burst in a cloud of dust. All the knights that surrounded Aultcray prepared for battle. But when the dust cleared, they saw a large group of knights. When Aultcray saw them, he recognized that they were the knights who were sent to attack Lurolona. Led by,

"Idol Rabier!"

Aultcray shouted as he saw Rabier on top of the pile.

"Ugh, where am I?"

"Rabier, what happened!? Why are you here!?"

"Aultcray! Well, you see, these knights were useless! They are unfit for battle."

"What!?"

"Yes, they couldn't take down a small group of fighters. It's pathetic really."

"I don't understand. I want reports from all the knights, and even you, Rabier. I want to know what exactly happened at Lurolona."

Rabier began to sweat at this as the court knights began to untie the others.

Back in Faubrey

The discussion was coming to an end between the representatives and the heroines.

"Alright, now the last order of business. Where the heroines will stay."

King Faubrey said.

"I believe the heroines should stay in the kingdoms they are assigned to."

Chieko said with Trinock nodding in agreement.

"I agree, it would be best if the heroines were close to the people they need to protect. It would bring the people of Siltvelt peace of mind to know that the Shield Heroine is nearby."

"So then, shall we begin preparations? How many of your allies will we be housing, Lady Zelda?"

Zalib asked, but Zelda just shook her head.

"That won't be necessary. We already have a place to stay."

"Oh, and where is that?"

"Our base in the sky."

Zelda's statement caused the representatives, besides Mirellia, to panic a bit.

"Are you sure? I promise that we will do our best to accommodate you and your allies, Lady Amy."

Trinock said, trying to get Amy to stay in Siltvelt.

"Yes, I am sure, Trinock. It's safer that way."

"What do you mean by "Safer", Lady Amy?"

Chieko asked.

"I mean exactly that, Chieko. It is safer to lay my head in my home in the skies than here on the ground. Makes it impossible for assassins to kill me in my sleep."

"I can assure you that it will be impossible for assassins to kill you while you stay in Siltvelt, Lady Amy."

"Is that so, Trinock? What about the last Shield Hero? He was killed while in your kingdom."

"That was, it was, it was Melromarc! They hired assassins to kill the previous Shield Hero."

Mirellia just shook her head in disappointment at Trinock's desperate attempt to shift blame and keep Amy in Siltvelt. Amy also shook her head at this.

"It doesn't matter who did it, the point is assassins managed to get in and kill him. That is impossible with our base in the sky."

Amy explained.

"Even so, how will you fight the waves if you are so far away? It would be more practical to stay in the kingdoms. And I can assure you, no assassins will be able to harm you in Shieldfreeden, Lady Amy. We see the Shield as a god, and will offer the best protection possible."

Chieko said, trying her best to get Amy to stay in Shieldfreeden.

"We have tools and magic that can teleport us to any location we want. There is almost no place in the world we cannot get to."

Peach explained. With no other arguments to make the representatives relented.

"Very well, so the heroines will stay at their base in the sky. I must ask, may we see it?"

King Faubrey asked with the other representatives eagerly listening for the answer.

"I'm afraid not, King Faubrey. It is our home while we are here and has many of our tools and equipment in it. We want to keep it between people we trust. You understand, right?"

Peach answered. While not liking Peach's answer, the representatives accepted it not wanting to anger the heroines. They'll just have to find another way to get information on their sky base. Perhaps spies that they can get into the heroines' parties.

"Very well then. With that, I believe we should conclude the meeting. Now, which hourglass shall you visit first?"

King Faubrey asked. Peach just gave each representative, except Mirellia, a button.

"What is this?"

"It's a device to call us when you are ready. Just press it once you are in front of your hourglass and we will appear. Use it once everything is ready."

Peach said while looking towards Trinock and Chieko.

"Yes, yes, we will, Lady Peach. Once we get everything sorted with the church we will call you."

Trinock said with Chieko nodding in agreement.

"Good, with that, we'll take our leave."

"Please, Lady Peach, allow my men to see you to the gate."

"No need, King Faubrey, just watch."

Peach said as she, and the others, pressed something that was in their ears. Soon, they glowed blue before becoming rays of light that flew off into the sky. This shocked the representatives.

"Was that their teleportation technology!?"

Chieko asked in astonishment.

"We should see if they are willing to share this technology with us. This could revolutionize trade and travel."

Zalibe added. While the others were nodding in agreement, Mirellia just sat silently in her chair.

"At least they don't see all of Melromarc as an enemy. But still, my husband could change that if he continues with his actions against the heroines. No doubt the church is pulling the strings and convincing him to take these actions. I may need to take drastic actions of my own."

Mirellia thought to herself. Later, she walked into her room, still pondering on this when,

"Hello, Queen Mirellia."

Mirellia was shocked by this and looked to see Peach sitting in the chair in her room.

"Lady Peach! When did you get here?"

"As I said in the meeting, there is almost no location we can't get to. I came here after getting someone from my base who wants to speak with you."

"Who is this person who wishes to speak with me?"

That is when Eclair stepped forward.

"Eclair Seaetto!"

Mirellia said in surprise. Eclair kneeled in front of Mirellia before speaking.

"Queen Mirellia, I apologize for showing up unannounced like this, but I must speak with you."

"No, no, there is no need to apologize, Eclair. If anything, I should apologize for my husband's treatment of you and the attack he ordered against your lands."

"You knew about that?"

"My shadows have recently told me everything my husband has done since Lord Seaetto's death. To think he would go this far because of his grudge against demi-humans."

Mirellia said as she sat down on her bed.

"I apologize for bringing terrible news about Melromarc, my queen."

"Again, no need to apologize, Eclair. You are just doing your duty as a knight of Melromarc. I must thank you for following your beliefs, even when faced with charges of treason and imprisonment."

"It is what my father raised me to believe, my queen."

"That's good, and as for my husband, rest assured that he will face punishment for his actions once I return to Melromarc. The church is a bigger problem though."

"How so?"

Peach asked.

"The church follows the beliefs of the three heroes faith. Where the Spear, Bow, and Sword Heroes are worshipped, and the Shield Hero is shunned. This faith also promotes the discrimination of demi-humans, stating that they are less than human. I have been trying to dismantle the church for a long time now by limiting its power and the lands it can purchase. But in my absence, my husband has undone all my work."

"I see, is there anything we can do to help? The church seems to be targeting us as well since we refused to ostracize Amy. And you know the old saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

"Indeed, Lady Peach. You said that there is no location you can't reach, correct?"

"Yes, but we need to know the location first. As long as we have knowledge of the location, its surrounding areas, and its layout, we can teleport to anywhere in it."

"So that means you must survey the area first before you can teleport to it, correct? Is that what you did for Faubrey?"

"Yes, Queen Mirellia, we had scouts survey the area so we know where to teleport to."

"How strange, I didn't see any scouts earlier."

"You were in the meeting, plus they are difficult to find. We made sure of that."

"I see, you are very cautious about this world."

"After what your husband and the church did isn't it natural that we are?"

"You are correct, Lady Peach. Now then, if I were to get you a map of the main cathedral for the church of the three heroes, would you be able to teleport in and get evidence of their plot to overthrow me?"

"Is that what you are looking for?"

"Yes, they have been ingrained into Melromarc since its beginning. As such, they have deep roots in the society of Melromarc. It is difficult for me to dismantle them while they have such power. But if I were to find proof of their plots against the crown, then I could dismantle the church of the three heroes without pushback from the people."

"I see, then yes, a map would be a great assistance. And if you need someone to infiltrate the church we have the right people for the job."

"So you'll help me?"

"Of course, out of all the leaders at the meeting today, you seemed the most sincere. The other's expressions showed they had plots to use us in whatever schemes they had. But you genuinely seemed to want to stop the waves. The only other person I felt that from was Chieko, the representative of Shieldfreeden. She also seemed to have other plans, but they didn't feel insidious."

"No doubt those plans have to do with the Aotatsu problem they're facing."

"Aotatsu?"

"They're a race of dragon demi-humans that have ties to the ancient dragons of the past. While hard to believe, the fact that the strongest among them can transform into large dragons brings truth to these claims."

"I see, and what exactly is the problem with them?"

"The Aotatsu are a proud race due to their ties with the ancient dragons. They view themselves as superior to all races. Normally they are just a nuisance, but after the Siltvelt war, and the power gap left by the death of the previous king, they swooped in and took most of that power. Now they have a powerful position in Siltvelt's governing and hold many seats in the council of Shieldfreeden. The main problem is that they do not follow any hero faiths and instead follow the faith of the dragon, where the Aotatsu reign supreme and the Cardinal Heroes are either seen as tools or outright shunned due to the battles the heroes of the past had with the ancient dragons."

"I see, and they are trying to take over Siltvelt and Shieldfreeden, correct?"

"Yes, Lady Peach. Siltvelt is safe for now due to the Genmu, Shusaku, and Hakuko races still holding power and keeping the Aotatsu in check. But the same can't be said for Shieldfreeden, unfortunately. During the Siltvelt war, Siltvelt forced many nobles from Shieldfreeden to fight with them against the other nations. Many of them were killed during the war, and that left a power vacuum in Shieldfreeden's governing council."

"And let me guess, the Aotatsu took the opportunity to fill that gap."

"Correct, Lady Peach. Many Aotatsu survived the war due to their strong affinities for wind and water magic, and their resilient bodies. Many of the surviving Aotatsu filled in those gaps in the council. They have been making many moves to make sure that any new representatives are of the Aotatsu race. There are even suspicions that they hired assassins to kill a representative, who was a Genmu, due to the fact they had a replacement ready after his death."

"How terrible, and what have you been doing about this?"

"Other than getting information, nothing, Lady Peach. I am too busy fighting the power struggle in Melromarc and dealing with the consequences of my husband's actions to offer aid. If you wish to know more, I suggest speaking with Chieko. She has been investigating the Aotatsu and their attempts at gaining power in Shieldfreeden's government."

"I see, we might just do that. Now it makes sense why she was so adamant about keeping Amy in Shieldfreeden."

"Yes, having the Shield Hero in Shieldfreeden and against the Aotatsu would help Chieko's goal to keep them from taking over."

"Well, thank you for your time, Queen Mirellia. If you can get a map of the cathedral, we can start the operation to find proof of the church's plot to overthrow the royal family."

"Thank you, Lady Peach. I'll have my shadows get the map as soon as possible."

Peach and Eclair bowed to Mirellia who bowed back and soon Peach and Eclair were engulfed in light and teleported away. Mirellia made a mental note to ask if the heroines would share this teleportation trick with her.

Melromarc

The knights and Idol Rabier have finished giving their reports to Aultcray and left. Aultcray was left sitting on his throne, angered by Rabier's defeat at Lurolona.

"Damn it!"

He yelled as he slammed his fist into the armrest of the throne. It wasn't supposed to be like this. The platoon of six hundred knights should have been enough to overwhelm twelve fighters, but they were not. Not only that, these fighters were holding back, using non-lethal attacks against the knights. Was it mercy? No, it was to send a message. That they could destroy Melromarc any time they pleased.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it all! How could this have happened? It should be impossible for others to come here without the summoning ritual. But yet, the three heroines and that damn she-devil brought their allies from another world, and they have proven to be powerful fighters. Now I dare not attack Lurolona or else I suffer their wrath. I need to bring the Spear Heroine to my side soon."

"Father, is something wrong?"

Malty asked as she entered the throne room.

"Malty, it's nothing to be concerned about. Just dealing with Rabier's failure at Lurolona."

"Rabier failed, how? He had six hundred knights, destroying one village should have been as easy as stealing from an infant."

"It's the heroines, Malty. Or more precisely, their allies, that defeated Rabier."

"What, how? They should have been on that base in the sky the shadow talked about."

"According to the knights' reports, they can teleport from the base in a beam of light. That's how they managed to catch Rabier and his men before they started to attack Lurolona."

Malty was shocked by this information. Not only do the heroines possess some base in the sky but they can teleport from it. While it infuriates her that they thwarted Rabier's attack, she is excited at the prospect of having this base and all its secrets to herself. She just needs to get one of the heroines under her control first. That's when she had an idea.

"Father, perhaps to help in our plan to bring the Spear Heroine to our side, we should try and make peace with the heroines first."

"Huh, make peace? How? They didn't trust us thanks to the trial and now after Rabier's assault they'll be even more wary of us."

"Then Rabier will have to pay the price for his failure."

"What do you mean, Malty?"

"We can use Rabier as a scapegoat, a sacrificial pawn. We'll place the blame for the attack on him, and tell the heroines that it was his idea to attack Lurolona. Explain that's the reason the knight numbers were so low. After all, we have over one thousand knights in our army. If the attack was sent by us, why would we send such a small number of knights to attack?"

"Hmm, I see your point, Malty. And the plan could work, but still, to sacrifice Rabier like that. He is my friend and a war hero from the Siltvelt war. Is it truly right to throw him to the wolves?"

"I think it's best to go with the princess's plan, King Aultcray."

Biscas Balmus, the pope of the Three Heroes Church, said as he walked into the throne room.

"Balmus, it's good to see you old friend."

"Likewise, Aultcray."

"Now why do you think it's best to do this? Why must we offer the olive branch to aid in our other plan? Why must we sacrifice Rabier?"

"Because, Aultcray, with his recent assault on Lurolona the heroines' distrust of us has only grown. Malty's plan to sway the spear to our side may not work with that distrust. But if we make an effort at reconciliation and explain that we did not have any affiliation with the assault on Lurolona, then we have a greater chance of swaying the spear to our side. Her power would be a great benefit to our goals, and if we can convince her to give us access to these spirits she has and that base in the sky, Melromarc will stand stronger than ever! Perhaps even stronger than Faubrey. Rabier is a necessary sacrifice for our future, Aultcray."

Aultcray pondered upon this. Yes, Rabier was his friend and ally during the war against Siltvelt, but if it meant ensuring the safety of his nation and family then no sacrifice was too great.

"Very well, let us proceed with that plan. Advisor! Gather all the knights who partook in the assault on Lurolona and bring them here. Get two shadows to deliver a message to Lurolona. Let them know we wish to speak to the Cardinal Heroines. Make sure they go there with the intention of peace! We do not want to further anger the heroines. And send a message to Rabier. Tell him to come here at once!"

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The advisor left to complete his duties. But unbeknownst to everyone present, they were being watched. In the corner of the room was a small guardian that Purah had made with the help of Slippy and Tails. It was equipped with a stealth unit and was transmitting everything it saw back to the Cardinal Alliance's space base. When the Cardinal Alliance teleported to save Lurolona, they teleported a few drones and small guardians as well. With no one noticing due to the battle, these mechanical scouts scattered across the lands. The guardians went into Melromarc to keep an eye on the king and the Three Heroes cult. The drones flew to the nearby nations to start gathering information. More scouts will be scattered soon, but they need to be made first.

The next day

Two shadows were on their way to Lurolona, to deliver the king's message of reconciliation. When they got there they were stunned by what they saw. Lurolona was now surrounded by giant walls. These walls even had statues of some kind of machine with an odd shape. While they were examining these sculptures, someone came out of the gates to address them.

"Halt! Who goes there?"

Eclair demanded as she unsheathed her sword.

"We came here at the request of his majesty, King Aultcray."

The shadow explained.

"So he hasn't learned that it's futile to destroy Lurolona. Very well, it appears I'll have to give another demonstration."

Eclair raised her hand to snap her fingers, but the shadows waved their hands to stop her.

"No, wait! We don't mean any harm! The king wishes to reconcile with the heroines and you, Eclair!"

Eclair was taken aback by this statement.

"What, reconcile?"

"Yes, the king admits that he was wrong to imprison you, and wishes to pardon you of all crimes as well as make amends with the heroines. Here, this declaration was written by King Aultcray himself."

The shadow handed Eclair a rolled-up parchment. Eclair took it and began to read its contents. Written in it was a full apology from Aultcray for wrongly convicting Eclair of treason and his wish to pardon her of all crimes. It was detailed how he wished to speak to the heroines about the recent attack on Lurolona by Idol Rabier. Eclair took a moment to ponder on this revelation.

"Wait here."

She said as she walked back through the gates. The shadows waited, hoping that Eclair and the heroines would respond to the king's request. Soon the gates opened and Eclair came out along with the four heroines and their companions.

"So, the king wishes to meet with us to explain the attack on Lurolona and make amends, correct?"

Peach asked.

"Yes, Lady Spear. The attack was made without the king's knowledge or his permission."

The shadow answered.

"Is that so?"

"Yes, think about it. If the king ordered an assault on the village, would he send a paltry six hundred soldiers when we have thousands under our command?"

"Hmm, I see. You do make a good point. Very well, we'll meet with the king."

"Excellent, we'll guide you to the castle."

"No need, we'll get there ourselves once we're ready. Just go and let the king know that we'll meet with him."

"Um, of course, Lady Spear. Please, do not keep the king waiting."

The shadow said with a bow as he left with his partner. Once they were gone, Peach and the others walked back into Lurolona. Once the gates were closed, Peach pressed a finger to her ear.

"Are we being watched?"

"Negative, Peach. The shadows left and there are no foreign life signs around."

Tails answered through her earpiece. The four heroines, and their allies, were given earpieces designed and created by Purah, Tails, and Slippy so they could stay in contact with the base at all times. After hearing the confirmation from Tails, she turns to speak with the others.

"So, are you all ready?"

Peach asked.

"I don't know. Are you sure about this Peach? We know this is all a ploy to try and get you on their side. Why should we even bother?"

Amy asked.

"Because, if we play along and make them believe that we're willing to cooperate, it'll be easier to gather evidence for Mirellia. Plus, if the church isn't as wary of us, Espio, Katt, and Miyu will have an easier time sneaking into the cathedral to find that evidence."

Peach explained.

"Still, we should be wary of any other plots made by the king and the church. We may be immune to curse seals, but the same can't be said for Fox, Mario, Sonic, Link, or any of the others. They may try to kidnap you and force you to tell them about our secrets."

Krystal said.

"Me and Sonic have already tested the slave seal thing. We can break them with star power and chaos power respectively."

Mario explained, as earlier he and Sonic tested the slave seals at Tails' request to see if they could break free of them. Once they were branded, which in Sonic's words "really friggin' stung", Mario and Sonic used star power and chaos power to break the seals.

"Okay, that's good, but what about Fox or Link? Have you two tried to break the seals?"

"No, Krystal. I don't think Link or I have something like that."

Fox explained. Link nodded in agreement, unsure if the Triforce of Courage would work against the slave seal.

"I see, then you'll have to be careful then."

"Don't worry about it, Krystal. We'll keep an eye on everyone from up here, and if we see anyone getting a slave seal branded on them we can teleport them back here. With the Power Stars and the Chaos Emeralds, we can remove any slave seal placed on any of our friends."

Tails explained.

"That's good to hear. How did Tails bring the Chaos Emeralds here again?"

Amy asked.

"Well, it's a theory Rosalina had. Even though there were no Chaos Emeralds in this world there was an incredible amount of Chaos Energy permeating it. So, she suggested I make seven fake emeralds and bring them here. She theorized that they would absorb the chaos energy and become new Chaos Emeralds."

"I guess her theory was right."

"Yep, and with the adjustments I made, they should work just fine in this universe."

"Alright, now that Tails is done explaining Chaos Emeralds, are we ready to meet the king?"

Peach asked, receiving nods from everyone.

"Good, let's-a go."

With that, the four heroines, their companions, and Eclair teleported to the castle. Four guards were at the castle gate, waiting for the heroines when a blue light began to form in front of them.

"What the hell!?"

One guard said as he and his fellow knights got ready for battle. But once the light dissipated, it revealed the four heroines and Eclair.

"The Cardinal Heroines! How did you do that?"

One knight asked. The heroines just giggled at their shocked faces.

"That's our secret. Now, I believe that the king is expecting us."

Peach said.

"Yes, right this way."

One knight answered as they led the group into the castle. When they arrived at the throne room they saw Idol Rabier there as well. He gave them a vengeful glare when he saw them.

"Welcome back, Cardinal Heroines. Thank you for answering my request for a meeting."

Aultcray said with a smile.

"Yes, your letter stated that this was to discuss what happened at Lurolona and reconciliation for that. Is that correct?"

"Of course it is, Lady Peach. It appears that I have made some rash decisions due to lies from someone I considered a friend. You see, I never wanted to attack Lurolona."

"Really? Because we know full well how you feel about demi-humans, King Aultcray."

Aultcray was angered by this but didn't show it to keep up the facade.

"Yes, I admit, I do not have high opinions on demi-humans. It would not be wrong to say that I hate them. But you must understand, I was the one who led Melromarc to victory when Siltvelt waged war against us. I've seen the evils those beasts are capable of. If you had seen the atrocities I have, you too would hate demi-humans."

Aultcray tried to reason with the heroines, but they weren't moved. While they sympathize with what he may have gone through, evil acts are committed by all sorts of people, regardless of race. Being born a certain race doesn't determine if you are good or evil, it's what you do that does. Seeing that the heroines weren't moved by his words, Aultcray continued.

"Nevertheless, I do not wish to go against my wife's wishes. It was by her order that Lurolona be built, to try and make peace with Siltvelt. I may not have liked it, but I know better than to go against the queen's word. But, Idol Rabier came to me after the first wave. To let me know of Lord Seaetto's death and that the demi-humans in his area were out of control."

"What?"

"What!?"

Eclair and Rabier said at the same time.

"Yes, let me show you."

Aultcray motioned for a mage to bring a crystal ball. It began to display a projection for everyone in the throne room to see.

"What are you saying, Rabier?"

"It's as I said, Aultcray. Now that Lord Seaetto is dead, the beasts under him have gone out of control. They are raiding his mansion for weapons to start attacking nearby settlements. We must act now before it is too late."

The projection showed a conversation between Aultcray and Rabier.

"Very well, take as many knights as you need and quell those criminals."

"As you command, my king."

The recording stopped and the projection vanished. Rabier was shocked to see this while everyone waited for Aultcray to speak.

"As you can see, I was led to believe that the demi-humans of Lurolona were getting out of control. And when I heard Eclair had defended them, I was livid. I let my anger cloud my judgment and branded her a traitor without hearing her out first. For that, I apologize."

"Okay, that explains the first attack, but what about the most recent attack on Lurolona?"

Amy asked.

"Again, I did not order that attack. I was shocked when I learned of it. If you need more proof, ask the knights who joined him."

Aultcray motioned for three knights to walk forward. These were the lieutenants of the platoon that attacked Lurolona.

"Tell me, why did you attack Lurolona?"

Aultcray asked.

"Lord Rabier came to us, saying that you had ordered the attack, my king."

"I see, and did he show you any proof of this? Any declarations with my signature?"

"No sir."

"And why didn't you bother to come and ask me if I did order this attack?"

"We wanted to, but Rabier told us not to. He threatened us with treason and execution if we did."

"I see, and why did you believe him?"

"Well, he is your close friend and war hero of Melromarc. We didn't think he would lie."

"I see, thank you. As you can see, Rabier took advantage of his status and position to order the second attack on Lurolona and fool me into sending the first attack."

Everyone was silent at this.

"I can't believe this."

Rabier said to himself. He may be a sadistic bastard, but he was no fool. He knew what was happening. He was a scapegoat, a sacrifice so Aultcray could get into the good graces of the Cardinal Heroines. He had to try and get himself out of this situation.

"Aultcray, my friend, if you'll just let me explain."

"Silence! You have taken advantage of your status and our friendship to wage your personal wars against demi-humans. While I may not be able to execute you due to being a war hero of Melromarc, that doesn't mean you'll go unpunished. From this day forth Idol Rabier will be known as a liar and manipulator who took advantage of his friendship with the king. He will be sentenced to stay within his territory. If he so much as sets one foot out of it, he will be immediately arrested. Furthermore, I strip him of any military authority. He will no longer be able to command any knights or shadows of Melromarc. Do you understand, Rabier?"

"Y-Yes, King Aultcray."

"Good, now begone!"

Rabier left the throne room with his head held down. But not before giving one more hateful glare to the heroines and Eclair.

"Now then, Eclair Seaetto, I hereby pardon you of all crimes. You are given lordship over your father's lands and will be given compensation for the levels that were wrongly taken from you."

"Thank you, King Aultcray."

Eclair said with a bow.

"Good, and in the case of the Shield Heroine, she too will be pardoned and have all charges against her dropped."

Aultcray's announcement got Amy's attention.

"Right, about that. Where is Malty? Why isn't she here to apologize?"

"Ah, you see, Lady Amy, that is because I sent her to atone for her crimes."

"How? And why did she commit the crime in the first place?"

"Well, Lady Amy, my daughter is a strong believer in the Three Heroes faith. She is deeply devoted and follows its teachings rigorously."

"And that's why she tried to frame me?"

"Yes, you see, the teachings of the Three Heroes faith depict the Shield as a devil due to the actions of past Shield heroes. When you were summoned, my daughter took it upon herself to prove those teachings. And I was blinded by parental love to see her wrongdoings. But now, the pope is teaching her the mercy of the faith. Since you have committed no actions to warrant being called a devil, I will drop all charges and pardon all crimes. I will also resume the support you four were supposed to receive and even throw in compensation for your troubles."

Four servants came and gave four large sacs of silver to Peach, Krystal, Zelda, and Amy.

"I hope we can put all of this behind us and focus on the true threat; The Waves of Catastrophe."

Peach looked to the other who nodded in agreement.

"Very well, King Aultcray. Let us work together to stop the waves."

"Very good, Lady Peach. I'm glad we were able to resolve this misunderstanding."

"Yes, now if you'll excuse us. We still have to make preparations for the next wave."

"Of course, we'll leave you to it then. May fortune favor you in battle, Cardinal Heroines."

With that, the Cardinal Heroines and their allies were covered in a blue light before teleporting away. Once they were gone, Aultcray had a sinister smile on his face. Everything was proceeding as planned. Now they needed to wait for the next wave to sway the spear to their side and get rid of the Shield Devil.

In the Space Station

The four heroines arrived and everyone waited to hear how the meeting went.

"Well? How did it go?"

Luigi asked.

Peach took in a deep breath before,

"That lying piece of crap! He is full of shit! Does he think we can't see through his blatant lies!? Does he think we're idiots!? I just, UGH!"

Peach yelled as she threw a small tantrum.

"So it didn't go well then?"

"No, it did, Luigi."

Amy answered while Mario was consoling Peach.

"But, the king was lying through his teeth and even placed the blame onto Rabier so he would be free of any crimes."

Amy continued.

"Yeah, the scout we have at the castle sent us the footage of when they edited the crystal ball they used for the meeting."

Tails explained.

"That's good. Now, can you, Purah, and Slippy check these bags of silver for any tracking devices, or magics."

Amy asked as she and the other heroines dropped the bags of silver onto the ground.

"You got it."

Slippy said as he and Purah took the bags of silver to be analyzed.

"By the way, Amy. The Shieldfreeden representative pushed her button early."

"Really?"

"Yeah, she said she needed to speak to the Cardinal Heroines urgently. Something about saving Shieldfreeden from a hostile takeover."

"Ah, I know what she's talking about. Can you get in contact with her again Tails?"

"Yeah, just give me a moment, Peach."

Tails pushed some buttons on the console and the screen showed Chieko sitting in what appears to be her private studies.

"Hello, Chieko?"

Chieko was startled by Tails' voice and grabbed the button.

"Yes, Tails. Will the heroines see me?"

"Yes, they will, should I teleport them to you now?"

"Wait! I need to find a place more private. Even now I feel that I'm being watched."

Hearing that, Peach had an idea.

"Tails, is it possible to bring her here?"

"Yes, the button also has a reverse function in it. We can teleport anyone holding the button here."

"I told you that would be useful!"

Purah yelled at Tails.

"Okay, do we have a room to teleport her to?"

"Hmm, what about the dining room? We can turn off the lights so only the table is illuminated. That way we don't risk exposing the rest of the base to her."

"Great idea, Tails. Alright girls, let's get ready for a meeting."

The four walked into the dining room while Tails pressed some more buttons.

"Okay, Miss Chieko, we're bringing you to a secure location. Just hold onto the button."

Chieko did that and soon she was teleported into the dimly lit dining room. Once there she began to look around cautiously.

"Miss Chieko,"

Peach said getting her attention.

"You wanted to speak with us?"

"Yes, I did, Lady Peach."

"Alright then, please take a seat."

The five women sat down and Chieko began.

"The reason I wanted to speak with you four is because I need your help."

"You mean with the waves?"

"Yes, Lady Amy, but also because Shieldfreeden, my home, is in danger of being conquered."

"By whom?"

"By the Aotatsu."

And that's the end of the chapter. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read my story and please feel free to leave a review.

As for the new looks for Mario, his outfit was inspired by Juste Belmont. So if you would like to know what his clothes would look like just google him. Sonic's clothing was inspired by characters like BanchoLeomon from Digimon and Jack from the LV 9999 gacha manga.

Once again, thank you, and have a nice day.
