With an exasperated sigh the second heir of the Uchiha clan flopped down on the still slightly damp grass of training ground seven. Inhaling, he spoke in an annoyed voice. "Come on~ why do we have to keep waiting for him like this?" The other male member of the trio bobbed his head in agreement and the youngest, the pinkette, vocalized her frustrations alongside her crush. As if sensing their irritation, the figure of their unfathomably late sensei appeared in the middle of the clearing drawing a sigh from the quieter of the trio and a sigh from the other two. "You're late!" They yelled, the onyx-eyed boy viciously pointing his index finger at the older man. The Jonin rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, grinning slightly with his signature eye-smile. Releasing a nervous sigh, he let his two little Genin rant on about his constant tardiness. "Uh. Yo?", the Jonin uncertainly greeted his team.
The last member of the team stood from his perch on the stump in the clearing and walked to the rest of the group. Taking a relaxed stance, he released a quiet sigh he cleared his throat, quieting the raging pair. "Sensei, aren't we supposed to be heading to the mission desk right about now?" "Well, someone seems enthusiastic, what brought this up today of all days?" "Nothing important." Nodding, the grown man led his team towards the all too familiar Hokage tower. Receiving a loud yell of confirmation from the stern voice of the leader of the village of Konohagakure no sado. Entering, they bowed before their Hokage and the leader of their team stated their reason for interfering in the aged man's busy schedule. "Team 7, reporting in for our next mission." "Oh yes, let me see, there's walking miss Nakumore's dogs, catching the Madam Shijima's cat, or-"
"Hokage-sama, I would like to make a request.", the veteran Shinobi asked of his leader. "What is it Kakashi?", the man asked, surprised at the man's words. "I feel that my team has completed enough mission and thus qualify for a C-rank mission. They work well as a unit and place their trust in one another, these elements prove their growth since becoming Genin." The Hokage seemed to ponder over the idea for a moment, still worried for the young children's lives he scrolled through the list of C-ranks he had at his disposal and handing the man a scroll with the mission details inside it. In a booming voice he called for his guards to bring in the client and in a moment the Shinobi outside the door came in with an extremely drunk man carrying a sake bottle in hand, his cheeks flushed a dark pink.
The drunken man stared at the rookies and scoffed. "I paid you good money for this and this is all the protection I get. Do you really expect me to put my live in the hands of brats like them? What kind of service is this?", the man angrily shouted, pointing at the three 12-year-olds and breathing out an exhausted sigh, the children cringing at the strong stench of alcohol, the quiet Tatsuya shutting his eyes and turning away from the unfamiliar man.
"Now-now, even though they're still rookies you can rest assured as I'm one of Konoha's best Mr.-", the silver haired Jonin's eyes gazed down at the open mission scroll in his hands and continued, "Tazuna ,and as this is only a C-rank mission the only threat will be bandits which my team can easily dispose of. Now team, meet us at the gate in an hour. Make sure to pack for at least a two-week trip.", with those words said the man vanished in a puff of smoke leaving a grumbling bridge builder, a beaming Uchiha, excited Haruno and a smiling brunette.
After they left to prepare for their mission the third Hokage sank back into his chair, glaring at the cursed paperwork, wishing with all his might that with the glare he'd honed throughout his life could set the monstrosity, namely paperwork, alight.
"Aniki! I'm heading out now! Tell Kaa-chan and Tou-san I'm going on a mission to wave, 'kay!", the cheery Uchiha called to the eldest Uchiha son, Uchiha Itachi, from where he stood in the living room. As he was about to open the door a hand landed on his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks. "Sasuke", a smile crept onto the stoic man's lips, "Goodluck out there." Grinning, the boy nodded to his older and set off to Konoha's gates.
"Kaa-chan! Tou-san! I'm off, wish me luck!", an excited pinkette yelled from the kitchen, and, as if on que, her parents came running from the hallway to see her off on her first mission outside of Konoha. To be honest, they were terrified, their precious daughter was leaving home and going into the dangerous unknown, well, to them at least. Hugging the live out of the poor girl, and leaving her pink from lipstick marks, they each said their goodbyes and the young, innocent girl set off into a world of bloodshed.
Creaking could be heard as a lone brunette made his way through a seemingly deserted apartment, searching left and right through the shattered glass, scattered bricks and empty fast-food containers for the equipment needed for his upcoming mission to Wave. Digging through an especially large pile he found what he was looking for. Pulling it out, he made it known to the world that it was a picture of a fair skinned brunette with violet-colored eyes, and a much taller man with unruly, short black hair and emerald-green eyes, both wearing goofy grins to match the expressions on their faces.
"Kaa-chan. Tou-san, I'm out. Please watch over me from above." The boy stared at the picture... reminiscent? As if remembering a time, he himself had not experienced. His smile softened and a voice in his head whispered, "I'm sorry, kit.", nodding his head he asked the creature, "Can you show them to me again?" Inside his head the gigantic form of the Kyuubi no kitsune arose, tails lazily swagging behind it, eyes glowing a crimson hue. "Sure kit."
Images flooded the seemingly frail Shinobi as the memories of the infamous Kyuubi no kitsune played through his mind. Before him, a burning Konoha appeared, Shinobi and civilians running as the feared Biju rampaged their home. Standing on the third Hokage's stone face, the fourth made his appearance. The intense battle between flesh and chakra beings raged on, then everything went silent as the beast and their Hokage disappeared, reappearing some distance away from the village. Chains wrapped around the aged demon, pinning him it to the ground. Seeing the fourth flashing through hand seals, it struggled, knowing that its freedom would be cut short once again. However, the man was abruptly stopped when a tall man with short black hair and emerald eyes, wearing a Jonin uniform, stopped him.
"Tatsumi, what are you-" the yellow flash cut himself off as he saw what his longtime friend was carrying. "Is that...", "His name's Tatsuya. Seal that bastard fox into him." the man was about to refuse his dear friend's request when he continued. "I know you can't seal the entire beast inside you, and Menma is..." the two men's expression saddened at that. "He was born... but d-died. What about Miyo, would she ever forgive you for offering YOUR child up to be a jintsuriki?!", "She didn't make it. Minato, there's no other option." offering the sleeping child to his soon-to-be-dead friend he smiled.
The sealing was completed, the village was rebuilt, but many still died on that fateful night, among the fallen was Hitoshi Tatsumi that died of a fatal woud caused by the Kyuubi, and his wife Hitoshi Miyo, that died at childbirth.
