A Taste of Chocolate

Chapter 1:
Violet Rae Dawn
I hugged my mother goodbye at the station and felt her slip something into my lunch box. Without even wondering, I knew it was the good luck charm we had made together, the one that would aid me in my chocolate making and my studies. I turned to my father, who was staring at the train in curiosity. I wrapped my thin 11 year old arms around him in a hug, barely coming up to his chest for he was so tall. I dug in my pocket and pulled out a small bar of chocolate.
"I made something for you two," I said with my barely there British accent. "I hope you will enjoy it. It's time for me to go now."
My mother took the chocolate and unwrapped it. Her and my father shared the small of white and dark chocolate together as the train rolled out of the station. It was infused with my magic, probably the last bout of accidental magic I would ever do. Hopefully, it would give them good thoughts of me while I was gone.
I walked along the train, trying to find a compartment that was empty. I was not sure if I wanted to be with people right now. I saw snobby people and jolly people, people who read and people who were having serious discussions. There was one compartment that was empty except for a small boy, and I thought I might as well join him, when a tall red haired boy pushed me out of the way and joined the small boy.
I sighed and straightened my clothes. I made sure my lunch box was still closed and leaned against the wall. I wondered what I would do for 6 hours. My mother told me that she had heard of Hogwarts when she was little. We had lived in Canada until I turned 9. My father had a business deal which put us in a better place and the chocolatery my mother opened was thriving. As I stood there, pondering my fate, a toad hopped along the ground. I picked him up just in case someone was looking for him.
I walked back along the compartments and found a worried boy scanning the floor. I offered him the toad and he hugged me, which surprised me, but I smiled and advised him to put his toad in a tank. He told me he would and ran off.
"Isn't she cute George?" asked a voice behind me, scaring me into whirling around and drawing my wand.
"Cute as a button Fred," said an almost identical voice.
I put my wand away, but didn't relax. These boys were red headed like the one who had pushed me half an hour ago. They were taller, though and more stocky. Their blue eyes glinted with mischief, but they didn't have their wands out. They relaxed against the walls of the train, looking at me consideringly.
"Well miss cute as a button," said one twin…
"Why are you out here all alone?" finished the other.
"Every compartment is full," I said shyly.
"You haven't met any of the other first years?" asked twin number 1.
"I was going to sit with one small boy but a boy who looks like you two pushed me out of the way," I said. "I'm not really from here… Well I am… But not really."
"Your accent is a mite strange I'll agree…"
"But that's no reason to feel bad…"
"Hogwarts gets students from all over Britain."
"I'm not from Britain," I said. "I'm Canadian."
"You mean the place where it snows all year?"
"I've always wanted to go there."
I sighed and began to walk away. I didn't need these stereotypes right now. I'd get enough of them at school. A gentle hand stopped me and I tensed up. I was intensely shy, and even a regular school was hard for me.
"Will you at least tell us your name?" asked one twin. "I'm Fred, and my brother is George."
"V-violet Rae Dawn Voth," I said. "Nice to meet you… I hope."
Just then a woman pushing a trolly neared us and asked if we would like anything. I touched my lunch box, then scampered to sit under a window at the end of the train. I opened my lunch box and pulled out my good luck charm, hiding it in my robes. It was a sun, moon, and star pressed together made of rock that looked like different colors of chocolate.
A/N So what do you think? Should I write more?
