The Only Logical Explanation for Season 10's Elizabeth
Chapter 1
"You'll never get away with this!"
The familiar face formed into an evil smile before a laugh sprang forth. "Oh, won't I? You forget, I've been 'getting away with this' for weeks now. None of your friends suspect a thing," she said as she spun the sparkling ring on her finger.
"There is no way Lucas doesn't know the truth."
"Lucas? I have him exactly where I want him. Right in the palm of my hand. He is so in love with me he can't see straight. All his talk of building a castle for his queen, and the surprises, ugh- how can you stand it? He is a good kisser though."
Elizabeth sat in the cage, staring out at her abductor. It had been a long couple of months since she had seen her loved ones and she was beyond worried about Little Jack. The shock of the identity of her kidnapper had worn off quickly and had been replaced with concern for her family and friends in Hope Valley.
"You have never told me why I am here. Why you took me."
"I haven't? Well, let me tell you now. It's because I want what you have. I want your life, your fiancé, and your friends. I want everything that was denied me when I was given up for adoption at birth. I want to be you."
Watching the wicked woman fixing her hair in the mirror, Elizabeth allowed a single tear to run down her cheek. She was certain she wouldn't get out of this alive and wasn't sure why her captor had allowed her to live thus far. But while she breathed, there was a chance. Hopefully, Lucas and her son had been treated well, and thinking of them was the only reason she had held on this long. Please, Lucas, figure this out before it's too late, she thought anxiously.
"I must go now; Lucas is waiting for me. Don't wait up!" The door opened and Elizabeth watched as her identical twin walked out and closed it behind her.

"I've been looking for you." Lucas walked up as the twin came out of the stables.
"Just went for a ride," she replied as he lifted her hand to kiss it. "It's a beautiful day."
"That it is, and you have been riding more often lately. I was thinking, we really need to discuss the wedding. Dinner tonight?"
"See you then." Before she turned to leave, she pulled Lucas to her and kissed him thoroughly. "Now that was worth waiting for," she responded with a flirty smile as she turned for the rowhouses.
Lucas stood there watching as she walked away, his expression curious. Then he lifted his hand up to his mouth and touched his bottom lip. Shaking his head, he walked toward the jail, finding Bill instead of Nathan inside. He was bent over a file cabinet browsing through some papers.
"Hey, Lucas. What can I do for you? I saw Elizabeth walk past a minute ago." the judge said with a smile before noticing the concerned look on Lucas's face and frowning. "Looks like you need to have a seat."
Pulling out a chair, Lucas sat down and sighed loudly, but remained silent.
"Am I going to have to drag it out of you? Is it Elizabeth? You two have a spat?"
"No. We did not have a spat, as you call it. But I did come to talk about my fiancée."
"Alright, you have my attention. What is going on, Lucas?"
Looking around the room before he made eye contact, goosebumps rose on Bill's arms as he heard what Lucas had to say.
"Now, please don't think I am crazy because I am pretty sure I'm not." Standing he walked to the window. "But I don't think the Elizabeth you saw just now is my Elizabeth, and I need you to help me find the woman I love."
This idea came from the complaints about the writing of Elizabeth's character this season and the way she acts towards Lucas.
Please don't take it seriously, it's all in good fun.
