Chapter 1

Congratulations! You died!

I stared at the screen in front of me with a surprised expression on my face, and wasn't too sure on how I got here either…

I remembered my life, of sorts… I remember my family, I remember going through school, college, and so on but… When I tried to remember names and faces from family and friends, even my own, it all just went… Blank…

Still, I had read enough light novels and fanfictions to know what this situation was. An Isekai. The only conclusion I could come to was that I'd died at some point, and now I was being given a second chance.

I didn't remember any details about that though, which was… Mildly irritating, I would at least like to know how I died, but past a certain point my memories were blank.

I sighed as I continued to stare at the screen in front of me… I didn't know how long I'd been in this space, but it must have been awhile. With no other choice really left, I reached out and tapped the screen, causing it to change.

As you are likely aware of by now, you died. So as to not cause excessive trauma or memory conflict, the names and faces associated with your past have been erased, leaving you only aware of the general details. We have also removed how you died from your mind in order to prevent flashbacks. This is unreversible and we will not apologise for it.

I sighed, that explained that at least… Not left much choice, I kept tapping.

Rejoice, however! For your life will not end here. The Administrators have seen fit to grant you a second life with the all-powerful Gamer System! Beware, however, that this system is not like others that you may have read about in your various light novels and stories.

Would you like to go through a system tutorial?
[Y/N]

Well, obviously I was going to pick yes. If this system wasn't like the others, then I would need information about it.

This System, unlike others, does not have a traditional Levelling System. Instead, you will have your skills and magical abilities- and even some perks and traits- each with a ranking system and proficiency. As you use the skills, they will gain proficiency and rank up. Once they are maxed out, depending on what it is, it may even evolve into a more powerful version of itself, or may undergo a different kind of evolution.

That being said, levels do exist. Instead, you will have two main ways of Levelling: the Job System, and the Class System. The Job System is your profession, such as a Blacksmith or Alchemist or Tailor, primarily non-combat classes fall under this role.

The Class System are combat classes, with classes for you to choose from, such as: Illusionist, Martial Artist, Berserker, Ranger, Assassin, etc.

Jobs may be changed at any time; however, classes can only be changed once they reach Level 40. When you change a class, class-based skills will become double cost compared to normal to compensate.

Jobs level up by performing actions befitting of your class. So, a Blacksmith will obtain levels by creating weapons or armour, Alchemists evolve through transmutation of objects, Tailors through creating clothing, etc.

Classes, meanwhile, level up through two methods: first through training and using your Class Skills in a controlled environment, and also through combat with an enemy. You will level up faster if fighting against someone.

You may now choose your Job.

[Merchant] [Blacksmith] [Alchemist] [Tailor] [Potter] [Enchanter]…

I sighed as I looked over the list… Well, at least I had options, and now I had to think about my starting profession… Hm…

"Is there an in-game store?"

Yes, there is an in-game store, more about that will be explained later.

Hm, interesting… In that case... My option was going to be Merchant for now. Being able to sell items from the in-game store at jacked up prices would help with buying things and, if light novels had taught me anything, pay to win was definitely a good way to go. I wasn't stupid, I wanted to live, and if that meant being pay to win, I'd do it gladly.

You have chosen the Job [Merchant]!

You have obtained the Job Skill – Bartering (E).
You have obtained the Job Skill – Haggling (E).
You have obtained the Job Skill – Calculation (E).
You have obtained the Job Skill – Analyse (E).
You have obtained the Job Skill – Money Conversion.

Job Skill – Bartering (E) (0.00%)
A Job Skill of the Merchant Job, allows for the user to pay for items with goods or favours instead of money (this might not be applicable to everything.)

Job Skill – Haggling (E) (0.00%)
A Job Skill of the Merchant Job, allows for the user to negotiate for lower prices when attempting to purchase items (being too unreasonable will cause the haggling to fail.)

Job Skill – Calculation (E) (0.00%)
A Job Skill of the Merchant Job, allows the user to rapidly perform basic mathematics.

Job Skill – Analyse (E) (0.00%)
A Job Skill of the Merchant Job, allows the user to see the basic status and value of people and items. Items will have brief descriptions explaining their use.

Job Skill – Money Conversion
A Skill of the Merchant Job, allows the user to change any money to any other currency at will.

Hm… Not bad, those were pretty much the basics for a merchant. Exchanging goods or favours instead of money, lowering prices, knowing how much something was, and being able to see the value of things. The last skill was basically an information skill too, so that was helpful.

Would you like to be a Travelling Merchant, or a Static Merchant?

Hm? What was the difference?

A Travelling Merchant may travel and more consistently will have a wider variety of goods, but in exchange will often not have a very 'faithful' customer base due to never truly sitting still. Meanwhile, a Static Merchant will set up a shop and will stay in one location. This comes with the demerit of not having a wider variety of Goods usually, but in exchange they will have a more consistent customer base.

Hm… Static Merchant. While travelling would be nice, I still didn't know what world I was potentially going to. And a more faithful and consistent customer base meant that I would obtain more consistent money so I could be pay to win, which was better than large bursts of money in one shot with potentially no money over long periods of time.

You have chosen Static Merchant.

A rare event is occurring.

Huh?

A sudden bout of luck has struck!

You have obtained the rare Sub-Job: Dimensional Merchant.

W- Wait, what?

A Dimensional Merchant is a Merchant with a single shop that resides between worlds. Connections can be made between various worlds, resulting in numerous characters from various realities being able to visit and purchase things from the shop. The Shop has doors all over the worlds and can be opened and entered by potentially anyone. You never know who will show up!

Due to obtaining a rare Sub-Job, Multiversal Store has been unlocked!

Unlike the normal Gamer Store which can only purchase things from the reality you reside in, with this store you may purchase items from any reality without limitations! The only limit to what you can purchase is your own money!

You have obtained the Job Skill – Dimensional Door.
You have obtained the Job Skill – Lord of the Shop.

Job Skill – Dimensional Door
A Skill of the Dimensional Merchant Job, allows for doors to be created throughout the multiverse that others may travel through to reach the user's shop. The user may manually place doors that will remain within worlds they travel to.

Job Skill – Lord of the Shop
A Skill of the Dimensional Merchant Job, allows for the user to instantly teleport back to their shop at any time, and allows them to receive notifications if people enter their shop while they are away. The user may kick out others and ban them from the shop, nobody may reside within the user's shop without their permission. Not even Gods.

… Holy shit. My jaw dropped… The benefits of this were fucking insane. This alone had secured my safety… Granted, if I went into a dangerous world like DxD or something and I was face-to-face with Kokabiel, he'd be able to kill me before I could teleport back. But this alone would secure me in being 100% safe within the bounds of my own shop. VERY useful.

If that weren't enough, this would give me both the benefits of static merchant through my ability to place doors where I pleased in worlds, but also the benefits of travelling merchant as doors could appear randomly in locations for people to head on through!

Sudden bout of luck indeed…

You may now choose a Class:

[Warrior] [Mage] [Rogue]

Hm… So, physical fighter, magic fighter, or a stealth fighter.

The answer, to me right now, was magic. Stealth was going to be useful for me, yes. And having a strong physical body was good, but magic would provide- in my mind- a greater advantage no matter the world I went to. It would just be useful no matter the world I went to. So, with that in mind…

You have chosen Mage. Please choose a Sub-Class:

[Elementalist] [Illusionist] [Druid] [Necromancer] [Summoner] [Healer]

Hm… The Sub-Classes were pretty good… Elementalist was clearly using the Elements like Fire, Water, etc. Illusionist, again self-explanatory. Druid was a bit more confusing to me, but I figured it was some mixture of healing magic, plant-based magic, and maybe runes?

Necromancer would be reviving the dead, of course. I had no way of knowing which variant of Necromancy this was though. Was it the type of Necromancy where you absorb souls to strengthen yourself? Was it the usual type where you revive skeletons and the like? Or was it the type from Solo Levelling?

I had no way of knowing, so I wouldn't be choosing Necromancer yet. I would definitely come back to it later, if only to experiment with it.

Summoner was an interesting one… As far as I was aware, the class was similar in nature to Necromancy. But rather than reviving the dead, instead it was more based around 'creation' and evolving your summons over time into powerful creatures. It also could have been making pacts and calling forth allies, sort of like a Familiar, but I wasn't entirely sure.

Healer was self-explanatory as well…

I decided to remove Illusionist, Druid, Healer, and Necromancer from my selections. Illusions were cool and all, but they weren't as practical if I didn't have some form of offence to go along with them. Druid was one I really had no idea on, so I'd probably come back to it later. And I'd already thought through my reasons to avoid Necromancer. And with Healer, it was a similar situation. It wasn't as helpful unless I could also deal damage.

Which meant I was torn between Elementalist and Summoner…

Elementalist was a good choice, there were many elements like Ice, Water, Earth, and even more that would definitely be useful for me to pick up…

But Summoner had a lot of potential. I could only work on one thing at a time, but with Summoner- depending on what it was- I could potentially call forth multiple beings with different specialisations, allowing for multiple things to be done at once.

On top of that, there was also the fact that with Summons, I'd be able to better manage my shop. I wouldn't even need to work at the till if I got a humanoid summon!

Elementalist was something I would come back to, but for now…

You have chosen the Class: [Summoner]!

You have obtained the Class Skill – Summon Servant (E)!
You have obtained the Class Skill – Store Summon(E)!
You have obtained the Class Skill – Call Summon (E)!
You have obtained the Class Skill – Evolve Summon (E)!
You have obtained the Class Skill – Name Summon (E)!

Class Skill – Summon Servant (E) (0.00%)
A Skill of the Summoner Class. Allows the user to summon forth servants to do their bidding. These Servants are a blank slate with unwavering loyalty towards their Summoner, willing to do anything they are ordered to do. Summon Amount = Class Level. Cooldown: 1 Day

Class Skill – Store Summon (E) (0.00%)
A Skill of the Summoner Class. Allows the user to store their summoned beings within a 'Home' area. While within this area, summons are held in stasis. Any summons that are killed will return to this area automatically. If the Area is already full, the Summon will die permanently. Storage Amount = Class Level x 2.

Class Skill – Call Summon (E) (0.00%)

A Skill of the Summoner Class. Allows the user to instantly call Summons to them in order to aid them. Amount Called = Class Level. Cooldown: 6 Hours.

Class Skill – Evolve Summon (E) (0.00%)
A Skill of the Summoner Class. Allows the user to evolve their summons and thus grant them access to more power and abilities. Races their summons evolve into will depend on the actions and personality of the summons up until that point. You will be notified when Summons are eligible for Evolution. Cooldown: 3 Days.

Class Skill – Name Summon (E) (0.00%)
A Skill of the Summoner Class. A powerful and magic intensive skill that enables the user to name their summon. Naming a summon can potentially cause the summon to evolve and will almost always result in an appearance change within the summon. The name given can influence both the personality and evolution path of the Summon. Cooldown: 1 Week.

I couldn't help but let out a low whistle as I saw those skills… True, I had nothing offensive for myself, but these skills were clearly very useful to me. It would allow me to build my own personal army and manage my shop.

I would have to grind this skill as best I could so that I could change classes to a more offensive one, but this would be a good start for me.

Now that the User has chosen their Class and Job, let us continue with the explanation.

The User has an in-game store that uses a currency called 'Gold.' Nice and simple. Usually, the store would only contain items within the user's universe; however, since you are a Dimensional Merchant with unique circumstances, you may purchase anything from across the multiverse (even multiple versions of items.)

Items you purchase will always work perfectly for you. So, if you were to choose Avalon, it would have the same absurd healing abilities and stopping aging as it would with Artoria Pendragon, as well as allowing you to use its true name.

There is also a Gacha System. There are two types of Gacha Tokens: Gacha Coins, and Super Coins. Gacha Coins will pull anywhere from the Gacha Pool with Items from Rarity [Common] to [God]. Super Coins are guaranteed to be [Rare] or higher.

If the user performs a 10x Roll with Gacha Coins, you are guaranteed 1 [Uncommon] or higher. If the user performs a 10x Roll with Super Coins, you are guaranteed one [Epic] or higher. The Rarities are as such:
[Common] [Uncommon] [Rare] [Epic] [Legendary] [God]

God is always a 1% chance, regardless of what kind of roll or what coin you are using.

I read all the information, giving a nod as I understood it. It was all pretty simple, and I was glad the items would work for me, though it was slightly bothersome it wouldn't work for others, it was also relieving. It meant that if someone were to steal something like Ea from me, they wouldn't be able to use it. And that was a huge relief.

The final Aspect of the game to keep in mind is the Achievement System! You may think of them as similar to quests, but when you achieve substantial feats, you will unlock an achievement that will give you extra benefits! Rewards can range from Gacha Coins to new skills, to even levelling up your job or class!

Hm… That was pretty good if I was honest. Depending on what I did, I wouldn't even need to fight to level up skills or jobs, and I could obtain skills and coins from Achievements too. Very useful.

The User will now be presented with a Special Opportunity.

I raised an eye and tapped the screen.

The user my obtain the one-time deal: Super Starter Set. This Set Contains:
3 Randomized Skills
3 Randomized Magics
2 Randomized Perks
2 Helpful Randomized Traits
1 Loyal Servant

If the user accepts this deal, however, they will receive a massive demerit. This demerit can be removed over time, but it will be a demerit that is not easy to be taken away.

Will the user accept this deal?
Y/N?

I bit my lip hard…

Now this was, without question, the hardest decision I'd been given… In exchange for one massive demerit, I would obtain three skills, three magics, 2 perks, 2 helpful traits, and a faithful servant who would be likely be immediately useful to me.

Right now, I needed to think about the pros and cons of accepting this deal.

Firstly pros: I would immediately gain access to potentially powerful skills and magics that I'd been worried about not having, along with two perks, and traits added to me. On top of that, was a potentially powerful servant who would be incredibly helpful in managing the store and helping me out with certain issues.

Now the cons: The skills could be potentially useless, same with the magics. The only things guaranteed to be 'helpful' were my randomized traits. On top of that, the Servant was only guaranteed to be 'faithful,' I could end up with a situation like in Overlord where Demiurge was faithful but was taking actions that I would disprove of.

Really, it was 50/50… It could be worth it, but it could also not be worth it…

I took a breath… And made my decision.

You have agreed to the deal of a Super Starter Set!

Beginning to distribute randomized rewards…

Yes, I chose to accept it. At the end of the day, useless or not, I was guaranteed two helpful randomized traits and a faithful servant. Getting that kind of help was just not easy and securing that kind of loyalty was equally as difficult. Even with a demerit, it was worth it.

You have obtained the Skill – Charisma (E)!
You have obtained the Skill – Shapeshift (E)!
You have obtained the Skill – Mana Burst (E)!

I stopped reading for a moment as I just took in my skills with a smile. In my opinion, those three skills alone had already made things worth it. Charisma was always a useful skill, especially for me since my Class right now was Summoner. Being able to inspire my comrades was going to be an important skill.

Shapeshift was also very useful to me, as it would allow me to change my appearance to make myself less recognisable. I'd be able to pass off as just another face in the crowd with some luck. No complaints whatsoever.

Mana Burst was definitely the biggest pick up among the three though. An offensive skill that increased speed and power by using magical energy. Very big and it would only become more useful to me as time went on.

You have obtained the Magic – Runecraft (E)!
You have obtained the Magic – Thread Make (Fairy Tail) (E)!
You have obtained the Magic – Telepathy (Fairy Tail) (E)!

I paused to look over what I got once again, and I had no complaints against. Runecraft definitely meant using Runes- obviously- which did probably mean some studying on my part if I wanted to level it up, but that would definitely help with things like enchanting weapons or creating barriers. Runes were versatile, and I'd look forward to figuring out how to use them.

Thread Make was kind of an 'eh' magic from what I recalled? It would definitely have its uses, and I'd be able to use it in a pinch to make clothing once I got higher rankings with it, maybe it would even evolve? I'd have to work on it, of course.

And Telepathy was just useful, being able to mentally communicate with my summons or any allies I made would be dead useful in combat. I'd be able to relay orders without people learning about my plans.

You have obtained the Perk – Dragon Heart (E)!
You have obtained the Perk – Iron Will (E)!

… What?

Perk – Dragon Heart (E) (0.00%)
A perk denoting the Dragon Heart beating within one's chest. It does not refer to a literal Dragon's Heart, but instead refers to the Mana Core within one's body. It is like a factory, producing powerful Magic. Double Magic Growth.

Perk – Iron Will (E) (0.00%)
A perk donating the user's Unshakable Will. Prevents user's emotions from being manipulated and allows the user to remain firm in their decisions.

Dragon Heart… As in a Dragon Core. That alone was insane, combined with Mana Burst… It seems my magical growth was going to be very good, so that was another thing to stop worrying about. Iron Will was a bit vague, but still no less useful in preventing my emotions from being manipulated.

You have obtained the Trait – Lunar Birth!
You have obtained the Trait – Prodigy!

The second one I could guess what it did, but I still checked both traits just to be safe.

Trait – Lunar Birth
A trait bestowed upon one who was born on the night of a Full Moon. Increases all stats by 25% during the night, 50% on the night of a full moon.

Trait – Prodigy
A trait bestowed upon a natural born genius. Doubles all skill gains by 50%.

I couldn't stop myself from grinning… Lunar Birth was a bit situational, but there were a lot of conflicts that happened in various worlds primarily at night, so the skill was incredibly useful to me. And Prodigy increasing my skill gains? That would make ranking up useless skills into useful ones so much easier.

Now, to see who my servant would be…

Randomizing Loyal Servant…

Ann Takamaki (Persona 5) has been selected.

That was… Huh. Ann was good, I liked her. Her character was pretty solid, she was very attractive, and she was definitely strong since her Persona- Carmen- evolved into Hecate upon reaching max bond with the player.

Please note, this is Ann Takamaki before she has obtained her a Persona.

Ah, shame. Still, I certainly wouldn't say no to her. Now then… The demerit.

Generating massive demerit…

You have obtained the Trait – Crippled.

My eyes widened before I felt a stabbing pain and let out a scream, falling to my knees. My left arm reached for my right… Only to find it was missing. I looked down through the pain, my eye widening in horror as I saw that- from the elbow down- my arm was gone. What the fuck-!?

Wait… Eye?

I reached up to my left eye… It was gone too. I couldn't see my hands despite the fact it was right in front of my eye!

I shakily got up and tapped the screen in front of me.

Trait – Crippled
A negative trait the player has obtained due to accepting the Super Starter Set. In recompense for this, the player's dominant arm and one of their eyes shall be taken. The arm and eye cannot be replaced with fully functioning replacements below Legendary Grade, and the user cannot regenerate their arm or eye with any items below God Grade.

… Shit.

Shit, that was way worse than I thought it would be. I thought it would be something to lessen my growth or something, not something that would literally cripple me…

Honestly, now I was even more grateful that I had chosen the Summoner Class. With me now missing a limb and an eye, I would need as much help as I could get.

You may now choose your Primary World Connection.

The Primary World Connection will be the first world that your shop is connected to. You will be able to enter that world as you please. Any other worlds connecting to your shop will be random, will happen randomly without you realising a new world has been connected until someone from that world enters your shop, and you cannot enter the world without first being invited by a resident. Once you have placed a manual door in that world, you may leave and enter through that door as you see fit.

Please select your Primary World Connection.

My first world connection… This one would be a tough one.

Firstly, I wanted it to be a modern world. While immediately connecting to a world I wanted to visit like DanMachi would be nice, a modern world with more readily available supplies that I might not be able to buy from the store would be more useful to me. Plus, I didn't know if things would be more expensive in the store but cheaper in the real world.

A modern world to start was definitely for the best.

That left me with many options, such as DxD, Code Geass, Harry Potter, MHA, Percy Jackson… I wasn't exactly starved for choice.

There were also non-dangerous world options like Compulsive Gambler, And you thought there was never a girl online, basically any slice of life anime or manga, and various book options…

I ended up standing there for a long time, contemplating my decision for a long time. This was a major choice that I really needed to think through, with the pros and cons of every world.

In the end, I chose DxD to be my primary world connection. DxD was a modern world with magical elements, meaning I had access to modern and magical items. It was dangerous; however, I should be okay as long as I mostly stuck to mundane means and items until I was stronger...

And staying the hell away from the devils and people in Kuoh.

You have chosen 'High School DxD' as your Primary World Connection.

We will now give you your backstory.

You lost your parents at a very young age, resulting in you being placed into an orphanage. When you were 8 years old, a dimensional fissure opened up and dragged you inside, resulting in you being hurled from world to world throughout the multiverse with no way to stop it, and lost both your arm and eye in the process of travelling from world to world.

Eventually, you figured out how to harness the energy and were able to create an Interdimensional Shop and were able to harness just enough energy to link it back to your home dimension: DxD.

As you were setting up your shop, Ann rushed in barely clothed and begged for you to hide her from Kamoshida. In her world variant, Ren didn't exist, and Kamoshida attempted to rape her during the time Shiho would have been raped (due to Ren not existing, Ann never talks to him while ignoring Kamoshida's messages, meaning she goes to see him, and Shiho is safe as a result.)

You quickly allowed Ann to hide in the back and, when Kamoshida came, you didn't hesitate to ban him from your shop, and he became unable to enter. Before Ann could leave, the unstable world connection broke off and she became unable to return to her world. As a result, you instead welcomed her to stay with you.

Grateful to you for saving her and, since she couldn't return home, Ann decided to stay and help you set up your shop. Over time, she has come to appreciate and care for you deeply, ultimately willing to do anything you desire. And she is proud of that fact.

That… Wow. It was… Fairly basic up until the Ann part, but no less impactful… I'd have to do my best to be a person worthy of Ann's loyalty.

You have completed the Tutorial. Say 'Status' for your page.

I blinked… I guessed that was everything, huh? "Status."

Name: Lynx Lucius Tiberius
Age: 17
Race: Human
Job: Dimensional Shopkeeper Level 1
Class: Summoner Level 1
Skills: [Tap to Expand]
Magic: [Tap to Expand]
Perks: [Tap to Expand]
Traits: [Tap to Expand]
Gold: 1,000

A status that was short and to the point… I didn't get to choose my new name, huh? Well, it wasn't a terrible name. Lynx was a pretty solid name; I'd roll with it.

Are you ready to begin your new life?

Well, I'd come this far… Yes, I was ready.

Then Good Luck and Have Fun!

.

.

.

I slowly opened my eyes, finding myself staring at a ceiling before I slowly moved to use my arms to push myself up, only to find a distinct lack of help from one of them…

Well, that was enough to snap me awake and have me sitting up, looking down at my right arm with a massive frown on my face.

It was strange to go from awake to suddenly waking up… Almost like waking from a lucid dream, but different.

I slowly climbed out of bed, and found a sudden appreciation that they took my arm and not my leg… I don't think I would have managed if they'd taken one of my legs and I had to hop around everywhere or use crutches or a wheelchair.

No, in hindsight, the arm was fine.

I made my way over to the full body mirror and looked into it, getting a good look at my new appearance.

My hair was short and red, my jawline being somewhat sharp, with a purple eye… My body wasn't ripped or anything. I wasn't fat, but I wasn't thin, I was average. I'd have to put in some work if I wanted my body to actually look good.

I was distracted by a knock on the door. "Lynx, are you awake?" Ann's voice rang out.

"Yeah, I'm up," I responded to her, feeling my heart racing a bit. "Just having some difficulty with my shirt again."

"Take your time," she told me. "I'll finish setting up the shop!"

"Thank you!"

"No problem!" I heard the light clicking of heels as she walked away to do as she said.

I sighed and went through the small struggle of putting on my pants and then my shirt…

You have developed the Skill – Off-Hand Proficiency(E)!

Off-Hand Proficiency (E) (1.00%)
A skill denoting one's skill in using their off-hand for various tasks, be it as mundane as dressing, writing, or something more extreme like fighting.

… Well, at least I got a skill for my efforts.

As I went to leave my room, another screen appeared.

Welcome to your Interdimensional Shop! Allow us to explain how things will work!

Your Shop has a Level from 1 to 100. This determines the maximum value of things that you are allowed to sell that you have purchased from the System (items obtained outside of the shop or that were obtained through your own efforts without the system store may be sold at your leisure.) You may purchase upgrades to your shop by using Gold.

Gold is also divided into the sub-items of Silver and Copper. To make it simple for you, 10 Copper = 1 Silver. 10 Silver = 1 Gold. 1 Gold = 1 Pound Sterling.

Remember, however, that just because you know something is a certain price, doesn't mean you have to sell it for that price…

You may search for upgrades to your shop whenever you like.

Your Shop
Main Shop Area
Hallway behind counter
Storage (50 Square Feet)
Kitchen
Bathroom
Bedroom x 2

Hm… Good to know.

I pushed open the door to my room and made my way down the hall and pushed open the door to my shop… Where I was greeted to the lovely sight of Ann bent over rummaging through a box, her lovely round rump staring straight in my face.

I blushed warmly as I couldn't help but stare… Because damn, that was one beautiful…

I shook my head rapidly and focused up, deciding to use Analyse on Ann.

Name: Ann Takamaki
Home Universe: Persona 5 (Dead End Variant)
Age: 17
Race: Human
Job: Actor Level 21
Class: -Not yet applicable-
Value: 100,000 Gold

Actor… That made sense. Ann needed to act for quite a long time with Kamoshida, acting as if people's words didn't affect her, acting as if she were accepting of his affections… Acting was all that Ann was able to do. No wonder it was at Level 21.

Her value being 100,000 Gold… The same as saying that, currently, her life was worth 100,000-pound sterling. That was a bit disturbing to see, and personally I thought she should be worth a lot more. But I also considered that Ann didn't have any skills beyond her acting and other miscellaneous abilities right now. Her value would increase with time as she got stronger.

I took another moment to take my time looking over Ann's outfit… She was wearing the uniform she'd worn at Shujin Academy today: a black plaid skirt, a white sports hoodie that went down as low as her skirt, and a black jacket with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows.

Had to admit, she rocked that look… And as much as I liked this view, I'd rather we got to work.

I cleared my throat, making Ann yelp as she got up and turned to look at me, her cheeks flushing pink.

"How long have you been standing there?"

"Long enough," I told her. "While I… Appreciate the free show, you might want to learn to crouch in the future instead of bend over."

Her cheeks went from pink to red. "Y- yeah, that sounds like a good idea…" She quickly shook her head. "A- Anyway, shop's all set up! Did you decide on a name yet?"

A name for the shop… I rubbed my chin as I thought about it… Before I decided.

"Traveller's Rest."

Her eyes lit up. "Oh, that's a really good name! And given the situation of this shop… It's perfect."

I smiled lightly. "Thank you, Ann," I told her. "Before we open up shop, I wanna show you something… And test something out."

"What's up?" She asked, leaning against the counter.

"Well, I've been trying to pick up some magic recently, and I think I've picked up summoning magic."

"Oh?" She tilted her head. "Colour me interested, go on, show me what you've got."

I nodded and moved out from behind the counter and into the main part of the shop. I took a breath before I reached out my hand, palm facing out. "Summon Servant!"

A magic circle formed on the ground, letting out red light, before a figure appeared in front of Ann and I.

The figure was humanoid, wearing a cloak that shrouded the rest of their body in darkness so I couldn't see anything. Their hood was up as well, leaving the only thing visible being their blank, white mask that stared back at me.

I used Analyse.

Name: -Blank-
Race: Servant
Job: -Not yet applicable-
Class: -Not yet applicable-
Value: 10 Gold

Hm… Interesting… No name, its race was Servant, and it had no job or class, resulting in its value being quite low… However, I knew that there was more to it than that. After all, I could evolve it eventually.

"Can you speak?"

The Servant shook their head.

"But you can understand what I'm saying?"

Nod.

"You will aid us in managing the shop," I told the Servant. "When I find appropriate weapons, begin to train yourself in a way you desire. Do so, and I will grant you a name when I have seen your progress."

The Servant's back straightened at my words, and they gave a nod. Being bestowed a name was clearly a big deal to them, which made sense. A name was an identity, proof of who you were. Being given a name meant truly 'existing.'

"For now, I will send you to storage until I require your aid."

Once again, they nodded and then bowed on one knee.

I lifted my hand. "Store Servant."

The magic circle appeared with a glow and the Servant was dragged in, vanishing from sight.

I turned to Ann, who was looking at where the servant once was with small sparkles in her eyes. "Wow…" She whispered. "Real magic! That's really cool!"

"Once I find a proper book on it, you're free to study it all you want," I promised her.

She gave me a wide, happy smile. "Thank you, Lynx… No, I should refer to you as boss while we're on the job, right?"

I chuckled. "Call me whatever you want."

My ears perked up as I heard the door open, and I turned around with a smile. "Hello! Welcome to the Traveller's Rest, your local Interdimensional Shop for all your Multidimensional needs…"

My smile faded a bit as I saw who was standing in the doorway.

"Interdimensional you say… Mind explaining what that means?" The Princess of the Fire Nation, Azula, asked me as she stood there with Mai and Ty Lee on either side of her.

… The first world connection outside of DxD was not one I was looking forward to.

Story I started writing awhile ago. Was going to hold off on posting this, but decided 'fuck it' why not? So, enjoy. The rest of the chapters I have will be coming soon.
