A/N: Hello!

I've decided to make a Family series for Kane and Salima, having them, their children, and pets. Their friends and other family members will also be featured. Hope you all will enjoy it.

Children OCs:

Satoru Yamashita: Elder son. Blue eyes, Blue hair.
Kurenai Yamashita: Younger daughter (Younger than Satoru by two years). Blue eyes, Red hair.

Pets will be introduced later.

STORY 1: Daughter and Daddy at home

Summary: After Kane's overnight Surgery shift, he wants to sleep throughout the day. But, his daughter is clingy to him. What would Kane do?

Daughter and Daddy at home ~

It was eight in the morning. The little girl opened her eyes after a deep sleep. Her messy red bangs tickled her eyes. She put them behind her ears. The confused girl got off her mushy bed and went to the living room. A woman in her early thirties was there, wearing her red lip balm. The girl's eyes stared at her for a few seconds. The woman turned to see her daughter standing on the staircase. She was amused to see her daughter's cuteness.

"Kure!" she smiled at the five-year-old. Kurenai rubbed her eyes and walked to her. Her mother kissed on her forehead and knelt.

"Baby, momma will go to work. Satoru went on a field trip with his classmates. Pappa is still sleeping after his night shift. He'll be up in a couple of minutes. Until then, brush your teeth, have breakfast, and bathe. Okay?"

"Sure, mumma!" Kurenai smiled.

Salima left in fifteen minutes. Kurenai locked the main door and bathed.

'Finally, Pappa is home. I wanna play with him.'

Kurenai went to her father's room. The door was open, and the man was sleeping soundly.

'Pappa is so cute!' Kurenai leered and pinched his cheeks. She mustered up all her courage and pulled the blanket. Kane whined in his deep sleep and tried pulling it up. Kurenai forcefully grabbed it and slapped his cheeks.

"Pappa! Wake up! It's late! Come and play with me!"

"Kure, Dad is so tired. Give me fifteen minutes, please?" Kane begged her.

Kurenai reluctantly nodded her head and got out of the room. She sat on the sofa and solved some puzzles.

It had been half an hour since she woke Kane. Kurenai pouted and went to the room. Kane was folding his bedsheets.

"Daddy! Get ready! Let's play!"

Kane rubbed her head and said, "I'll be back in an hour, okay? Till then, solve the puzzles and read a book. Do whatever you want. Pappa is so tired." His smile was weak.

"Okay! I'll wait for you! The breakfast is on the table."

"Sure, baby. Thank you."

Kane was back in an hour. He was fresh, like her. He went to the room, much to her disappointment. She pouted and followed him. She clung to his legs.

"Kurenai, I said I am tired today! I am going to sleep again."

"What?!" she yelled.

"Okay, I will stay here and guard you. I am your bodyguard today. I will defend you from the goddamn hospital. I won't let you go there. Enough of the surgeries, pappa."

Kane heaved out a sigh. He can't get enough of Kurenai's attention. She went to him, covered the blanket, and sat close to him. Kane was disturbed by her endless stares. He couldn't sleep at all. Kurenai rubbed his forehead and sang a cute lullaby for him. Her voice was sweet. He was fast asleep in a couple of minutes.

Kurenai sat close to him. She took his phone and played some games. She adored the way he was sleeping peacefully. She took a photo of him and sent it to her mom. She stealthily left the room. She was watching her favorite cartoon in the hall.

"Momma would not control her laughter once she sees the picture!"

Kane slept for two hours.

It was already afternoon. Kane opened the phone to see a bunch of laughing emojis sent by his wife. He was shocked to see the picture and guessed Kurenai was behind all of these. Kane's cheeks turned cerise. He felt embarrassed. He slapped his forehead. He is afraid to sleep in his daughter's presence.

Honey, did Kure do this? You are so adorable!

"Ah, this little girl. What the heck did she do now?" Kane fumbled.

Kane walked to the hall. Kurenai was watching Tom and Jerry. Kane didn't want to ruin her mood. Instead, he gently sat next to her.

"Why did you use Pappa's phone? And why did you take my photo when I was fast asleep? Your mom has sent me laughing emojis."

"Because I am helping you impress Mom!" she winked. Kane's face was beet red.

"I'm already married to her! And we have lovely kids like you and your big brother! We are in love!"

"I am spicing up your relationship, Dad!"

"Where are you learning all of these from?"

"I read snow white. The Prince kissed Snow White while she was on her deathbed. And I saw you trying to kiss Mom when she was sleeping. This time, I wanted to help her!"

Kane almost felt like crying. He had forgotten to lock the door while he attempted to kiss Salima.

"Kurenai, you make me feel embarrassed. Just let Dad rest for today. I'll play with you in the evening, okay?"

Kurenai was on the verge of crying.

"Dad! I know you have an appointment this evening! Don't lie to me! I want to play with you! You aren't making time for me!" she sobbed.

Kane felt a little guilt-ridden. Sleeping over and over again will make him light-headed and slouchy. He should've realized that. He has been trying to avoid her. That was mean of him. As a father, he isn't supposed to ignore her. He wiped her tears. She pushed his hands and went to her room. Kane followed her.

"Don't talk to me, Pappa. I hate you. You can go to the hospital now. I will not wait for you anymore. Feel free to ignore me."

"Kurenai, I am sorry, sweetheart. The mistake was mine. You are a young child, and you deserve all love and attention. It was my mistake to ignore you. And I won't go to the hospital, okay? I'll hand over the appointment to other doctors, okay? It's our day today," he smiled at her.

"Okay, you are pardoned," she grimaced.

"Are you still angry with Pappa? I care so much for all of you. And that's why I am working hard for all of you. I work for the well-being of our family. I love you all, but I am sorry I don't get enough time to express them. Pappa loves you, no matter what."

Kurenai turned to him and crawled on his lap. She knurled her hands on Kane's neck and kissed his cheek.

"I am sorry, Pappa."

"It's okay. It was not your fault, baby," he held her close to his chest. Kurenai clasped his fabric with her little fingers. Kane pecked her forehead and caressed her scarlet bob hair.

Kane can't forget the day she was born. He was in tears when he learned he would have a daughter. He affectionately cradled her when Salima was tired. Kurenai couldn't get rid of his index finger. He felt a special attachment toward his daughter. He loved how she had Kane's face and Salima's hair. They are more evident now. He named her after the beautiful red hair.

She looked adorable when she smiled at Kane for the first time. He also remembered the day she called him 'Pappa' for the first time.

He is truly blessed to have an angel like her. Despite her brave and fierce side, she is a sweet baby for him.

"What shall we do today, Kure?" he pinched her nose.

"Shall we do Origami?"

"That's a good idea! Can we do a heart ring for Mumma?" she asked.

"Wow! Let's surprise Mom today!"

Little did they know the time would pass by fast. They spent over two hours making several origami rings and other origami crafts. Kane was amused to see how his daughter searched many YouTube videos to make them. The way she learned every step by making mistakes made Kane chuckle every time. But, her learning speed was faster than her agemates. Kane appreciated her intelligence and creativity. They decorated Kurenai's room with craftwork and did the same for Satoru's. It's been time since Kane had this much fun. His happiness knew no limits when he was with his daughter.

It was time for lunch. Salima had already prepared them, and they had to heat them a bit.

Salima had come home by the time. She had also picked up their son.

"I'm home."

The door was open, and nobody was inside. Salima searched for them. But Kane sneaked in from behind and closed her eyes.

"Oh no, who is that?" she asked.

"Surprise, mummy!" Kurenai squealed. Kane took his palms off her. She saw beautiful heart-shaped rings on her fingers, made by her daughter. Her happiness knew no end.

"I love you, mumma!" she reached her. Salima knelt and hugged her daughter.

"We love you, wifey!" Kane winked. Salima impishly grinned and pecked his cheek. He had Satoru in his arms.

"Satoru, we have a surprise for you too."

"What surprise it is?"

"Let's go to your room."

Satoru was surprised to see the colorful Origami decorations in his room. Kane and Kurenai had done them beautifully. He hugged both of them.

"I love this, thank you, Papa. Thank you, Kure."

"You both have spent quality time with each other. And I'm blessed to have this family," Salima said.

A couple of minutes later, they proceeded to lunch. Satoru and Kurenai went downstairs first. While Salima was following them, Kane dragged her long braid. Salima's annoyed face amused Kane.

"What, now?" she asked.

"You have to thank me for helping you give birth to two lovely children, sweetie," Kane winked.

"Of course, without you, it's not possible. It's biology one-hundred-one," Salima nudged him. Kane smirked.

"Mummy! We are hungry!" Satoru exclaimed.

"I am coming, dearies!"

"Let's go, Honey."
