A dark night covered the area. Nothing was present, just a moon shining through the dark night.
People fear the things they can't see. They fear the mystery behind something unknown.
The high pole stood in the midst of Musutafu city.
A black-haired girl with an intense glare was looking as if she wanted to find something. Her clothes were black, resembling something between a kimono and robe, and she had a sword resting on her waist.
"It is near,the hollow."
With these words being said, she leaped forward as if flying.
Not all men are born equal.
Izuku Midoriya understood this truth from his childhood, since the time he was found quirkless.
Being born in a strange world filled with abnormal powers called quirks, he understood better than anyone what the meaning behind discrimination against the powerless was.
Being quirkless, especially for a person who dreamed of being a hero just like All Might, was heartbreaking.
"So, Deku, what the fuck are you standing here for?"
Izuku extended his hands sideways to protect the pole in his back.
"I won't let you disturb the spirit in here, Kachan!" the green-haired boy exclaimed while half-closing his eyes.
The blonde-haired boy snickered.
"You still think that you can see spirits? Damn, nerd, you are a quirkless nobody... So what makes you think that creating a delusion of having a quirk will make you a hero!!"With his last sentence being said, Bakugo sent an explosion towards the short boy, making him fly away towards the pole.
"Hahaha, dude, he still thinks he can see spirits, haha!"
"I didn't know that quirkless people have paranoia as well."
Bakugo's goons, or as he loved to call them,Extras, started to laugh at the green-haired boy who was laying on the ground powerless.
"B-But… I can see them and-"
"Dream on, Deku!"
With that said, the blonde guy kicked Izuku right towards his stomach, leaving the boy, who was wheezing in pain.
"Izuku! Please wake up! Hey!"
The voice of a young girl made him open his eyes almost immediately.
The spirit of a young girl stood beside him, patting him.
"S-Sorry… Are you alright?"
He said as he was half conscious.
"You were just beaten up badly, and now you are worrying for a person who is already dead? You are strange..."The girl said it with a smile.
Izuku Midoriya was indeed quirkless, but he had something strange within himself. He was able to see the spirits of dead people since his childhood.
"Kach-no, Bakugo and his goons were disturbing your grave, so..."
"I understand… thank you,Izuku-chan! I swear if I were still alive, I would have kissed you!"
Izuku's face became crimson from the sudden declaration of spirit girl.
"I-I-I..." he started to stutter as if he were a gun shooting bullets non-stop.
"See how flustered you are, haha!"
With that, Izuku stood up, groaning in pain, as he hurried towards his home. It will take some time to explain to his sisters and dad where he got these scars and burn marks.
"That's it; I am ending this Bakugo's life!" Midoriya Ishin, the father of the Midoriya family, declared while getting his gun.
"W-Wait,dad! It wasn't him, really!"
Ishin Side glanced towards his son as he sighed.
"You think that 'I tripped on stairs' thingy will work on me? I am a doctor, so you know, and I know better than anyone what kinds of things can cause burn marks and scars. Bakugo Katsuki, just wait and witness the rage of your victim's father!"
Izuku, while trying his best to calm his father down, looked towards his older sisters.
Midoriya Karin, the black-haired girl with dark eyes
And
Midoriya Yuzu, the brown-haired girl with a soft look
"P-Please, calm dad down!" Izuku pleaded his older sisters, who shook their heads.
"Geez, if all I will do is go along with dad, that always angry dog needs to be beaten up." Karin started to crack her knuckles, gaining a frown from Izuku, who looked towards his second oldest sister, Yuzu.
He regretted it as he saw an abnormally dark expression from Karin, who now seemed more scary than soft and kindhearted.
"So all those burn marks on the body of my precious younger brother are caused by Katsuki Bakugo, huh?"
She grabbed a knife from God knows where and started to go towards the exit, now scaring not only Izuku but Ishin along the way.
"W-Wait,Yuzu, I said to beat him, not kill him... Also, why now you have a gun? Hey,wait!"
Ishin tried to stop his daughter, but... It was rather pointless.
Izuku, seeing how cheery his family was, softly smiled as he looked towards the portrait of his deceased mother,Inko Midoriya, and couldn't help but smile.
'I may be quirkless and friendless, but at least I've got a good family.' With these words being said, he ran to stop his older sisters,Karin and Yuzu, along with his overprotective dad.
After a while of calming them down, Izuku was now sitting between his older sisters, who were treating his wounds.
"So you were protecting someone's grave from Bakugo's explosions?" Karin said this while putting a little plaster on Izuku's little scars.
Izuku nodded.
"Y-Yes…"
"While you did a great job protecting the grave, don't you think it wouldn't have mattered for that spirit girl anyway?"
"N-No… She would probably be sad because those guys would have started to annoy her. All Might always says that we should help people in need."
Yuzu sighed as she patted her favorite little brother's fluffy hair.
Izuku, meanwhile, looked towards his family in a pouting tone.
"I am...sorry, Dad, Yuzu-nee, Karin-nee." He said this, looking down with his cheeks red and his eyes nearly teary.
This made Midoriyas yelp from the cuteness of their lovely cinnamon roll.
His dad fell completely white from his child's cuteness while both sisters were holding themselves from hugging the living hell from Izuku. Seriously, their little brother is so cute that it should be illegal at this point!
Young Izuku, meanwhile, looked towards them, confused about what was going on.
Regardless, he managed to convince them not to kill Bakugo. They would have really killed him.
Izuku sighed, remembering the day when he and his older sisters, Karin and Yuzu, went to the doctor to check on his quirk.
Feeling a bit sleepy in the car, young Izuku fell asleep on Yuzu's lap, much to Karin's annoyance.
"Tch, Lucky…." Karin snorted while looking away while Karin smirked from her little victory.
In general, two sisters were friendly with each other, but when the deal came about their little brother, they became overprotective berserk-type girls of a sort.
While arriving at the doctor, the dad and sister trio had a rock, paper, scissors match to determine who would bring little Izuku to the doctor. In the end, the victor was Karin.
The things after that are well known and imprinted in Izuku's heart.
"I am sorry to say this... But your brother is quirkless."
The world froze for Izuku. His dream was to become a hero and help those in need, but now what? He was just a quirkless nobody with the power to see ghosts.
"That damn doctor... He could have said some gentler words!" Karin said in an annoyed tone.
The Midoriya family was now back home, with Izuku in his room.
Izuku's mood changed quite a bit upon hearing about himself being quirkless.
He was sitting in his room, his eyes all teary. He was watching All Might's debut video, where the blonde hero was saving hostages with a bright smile on his face.
Slowly, the door to Izuku's room was opened by Ishin. The black-haired father approached his son, who was sitting near the laptop.
"Dad…" The green-haired boy turned towards his father. His face was all swollen and his eyes emotionless. "Can I become a hero even if I don't have a quirk?"
Ishin was silent while listening to Izuku.
"Can I become like All Might? Save people with a smile on my face. Make people feel hopeful. Can I do that?"
Ishin had a serious expression on his face. He lowered himself to the level of his son.
"No."
He said it seriously.
Izuku looked down.
"Y-Yes. You are right. I am really delusional."
Before Izuku could speak, he felt a hand touching his fluffy hair.
"No, you can't be a hero like All Might because..." The father smiled brightly. "You will be an even greater hero than him! Why aim so low? Instead of copying him, try to surpass him! Who cares if you are quirkless? Just show them that even quirkless people can become greater than those with quirks!"
At this point, Izuku burst into an uncontrollable cry as he tightly hugged his dad.
"Y…Yes! I will be even greater than All Might and save people with a smile!"
Ishin had a toothy grin.
"You are goddamn right!"
Unknown to them, they were being watched by Karin and Yuzu, who were smiling, seeing that their lovely little brother was now as cheery as he used to be.
Later that night, they had Izuku's lovely meal. Katsudon.
The green-haired boy wiped away a tear of nostalgia, remembering the events of his past.
"Since that day... I tried my best to at least train. You will see that I will be the greatest hero to ever exist!"
His cheerful moment would have lasted a little bit longer if not for one little detail.
The window leading to his room was widely opened, and a black-haired girl was walking inside.
"I sensed the great amount of riatsu in here..." The girl said this with a hand on her chin.
Izuku yelped in surprise.
"H-Hey… Wh-Wh-Who are you!?" He said it with a sweat drop on his forehead.
However, the girl seemed to not notice him.
"It doesn't seem to belong to Hollow, but it is still strange."
"Hey…" Izuku called for her again.
"What could it be? strange, too strange..."
"U-Umm Miss…" At this point, the quirkless boy tried to at least grab her shoulder so she would notice him. Too bad he tripped on his All Might plush.
"W-Wha!?" He exclaimed, falling towards the girl.
CRASH
They both fell down, with Izuku on the black-haired girl's top.
"AH, M-My head..." He said as he tried to stand up only to feel something soft in his hand. The lights were turned off, so he was unable to see anything, so he thought that he was touching his All Might plushy.
"Ahh~"
A soft moan made Izuku flinch from surprise as, upon looking down, he saw her... black hair in a pixie bob style with dark eyes and a serious look.
Her face was all red, as Izuku, upon seeing where his hand was, became redder than a tomato.
"Hiii! I AM S-SORRY!!!"He jumped back, bowing down repeatedly.
The girl was surprised. and embarrassed, but more surprised.
Her eyes opened wide, and she looked towards him with a surprised tone.
"Y-You... can see me?" She said forgetting the events that occurred earlier.
Now Izuku became confused as he looked towards her with a raised eyebrow.
"H-Huh?"
.
.
.
A dark night was always scary.
Darkness means unknown, and unknown means scary.
The crashing sounds were covering the area, while the dreadful scream of a hero blended within the area.
The tall creature with a face similar to a bone mask was holding a hero who was patrolling this night, with its hands piercing his chest.
"S…Strong…Y…Yummy… A soul is nearby!" It said this with saliva drooling from its mouth as it looked towards Izuku's house. "Yummy soul!" it screeched, dashing forward, leaving the hero with a pierced heart.
"I am really sorry, Miss!" Izuku apologized again, bowing down.
The girl, Rukia Kuchiki, as she introduced herself earlier, was looking towards the green-haired boy with a wary look. Not only was he able to see her, but he was able to touch her as well. Suffice to say, she would prefer him to touch her somewhere other than her chest.
She sighed, covering her eyes.
"It's alright… You didn't do it on purpose, and you don't seem like a person who would have done it with purpose anyway."
Izuku scratched the back of his head.
"E-Earlier, you said that I can see you...D-Does that mean you are a spirit as well?"
Rukia raised an eyebrow.
Izuku noticed the confused face of Rukia as she began to explain what he just said.
"Well, you see... I have been able to see the spirits of dead people since my childhood, and now seeing you say that I can see you…can only mean that you are a spirit."
Rukia placed her left hand on her chin.
"Huh, so you are a medium?" Her eyes then fell towards Izuku. "To answer your question, I will say, no, I am not a spirit—at least not quite. I am different from souls, which are usually around you."
She pointed her finger towards Izuku's left as he saw a blue flame forming into a human.
"Ah! They always appear around me." Izuku said jumping out of surprise. It had been a while since one appeared before his eyes. Even though he was used to it, it still scared him a bit.
"Well, that's just convenient to me." Rukia drew her sword as she dashed towards Izuku.
"H-Huh!?"
The boy hadn't a chance to escape as he covered his face with his hands, awaiting a slash from Rukia, but he never got hurt.
Looking up, he saw Rukia, who hit the spirit with the hilt of her katana.
What happened next was that a white circle appeared on the spirit's back and sucked him in.
Izuku, who saw this, had wide eyes.
"What did you do to him?" He said confused.
Rukia, with a calm look, drew her katana back.
"I am Shinigami." She said it with a serious glare.
Izuku widened his eyes.
Shinigami? As a god of death!? Is she the goddess? No, he didn't imagine God to look like this. but he thought that they would have something like a scythe or...his mumbles were interrupted by Rukia slapping his head.
"Quit mumbling, will you?!" she growled. For Izuku, it seemed like seconds, while in reality he was mumbling for about 10 minutes.
He rubbed his head as he bowed apologetically.
"S-Sorry! It is a bad habit of mine."
Looking towards Izuku's apologetic face, she herself felt sorry. Maybe it was a bad idea to hit him?
"Yes, as I was saying earlier, I am Shinigami, not the god of death, but well, you can say that we, Shinigami's, are connected with afterlife."
"We gather souls that are in the human world and send them to soul society... In a way, you can say that we are angels of death, I guess, whatever religion you believe in."
Izuku was surprised, but he guessed that something like soul collectors existed already. After all, there were times when he saw some spirits appear one day and cling to him, and the next day they disappeared with no trace.
"So this soul society is heaven, right?"
Rukia nodded.
"In a way... Yes, I guess it can be described as heaven, but with some differences... It is more off an afterlife as I doubt that it is the brightest place."
"I s-see… That's some surprising i-information right there."
"You seem to take it more easily than I expected."
Izuku scratched his cheeks.
"I guess I am used to being surprised... I was able to see ghosts at the age of 4, or maybe earlier. And beside, we live in an era of quirks, so this is kind of normal now."
Rukia smiled.
"You are easygoing... I like that. Well, are there any more questions for me?"
Izuku nodded as he pulled his notebook from God knows where, making Rukia's sweat drop.
"Can I ask why you need a sword?" He said it enthusiastically, with his pen ready to scribble.
Rukia sighed, thinking that she wouldn't know how the notebook appeared on his hands.
"Well, till now, I guess you only saw good spirits."
This got a confused look from Izuku.
"G-Good? You mean there are bad ones as well?"
Rukia now had a serious look on her face.
"Indeed. Bad spirits are called hollows—the mindless beasts who lost their souls and now have a never-ending hunger for souls."
The whole atmosphere changed, and Izuku had a shocked expression.
"Are they dangerous?"
Rukia nodded.
"They are extremely dangerous. If you ever see one, you should run."
Izuku had many questions, but they all circulated around these hollows... How come he never saw one?
As these thoughts were flooding his mind, he felt something. He clenched his fists as a cold sweat ran down his forehead.
"D-Do you feel this!?" Izuku exclaimed in surprise.
Rukia had a confused look as she suddenly felt it too.
'This…it's a hollow! But... how come this guy sensed him quicker than me?'
As Rukia was in her thoughts, a sudden scream made both the green-haired and black-haired girl to snap out of their thoughtful states.
"kyaaaaaa!"
This voice… Izuku recognized it. It belonged to someone dear to him—it belonged to Yuzu-nee!
"Yuzu-nee!" Izuku screamed, trying to run towards the source of the sound, as suddenly he felt himself unable to move as if his body were held by something.
Looking straight Izuku saw Rukia, who extended her arms.
"This is one of the most widely used Kidos (demonic way) techniques; it is called Bakudo... It will prevent you from throwing away your life." Rukia spoke calmly.
"I can't sit down and do nothing while my family is in danger! Please let me go,Rukia-san!"
The shinigami didn't listen to him as he opened the door, only to feel an incredible amount of spiritual energy.
"How come I didn't sense it long ago?" Rukia said
She was surprised as someone crawled their way into Izuku's room.
Upon seeing a person who was covered in blood, Izuku froze.
It was Karin who was covered in blood.
"Karin-nee!? Wh-what happened!?"
The black-haired girl looked at him weakly.
"Izu…run… Run as far as you can, please!"
Izuku refused… His throat dried as he looked towards Karin, tears forming in her eyes.
"Something wounded Dad's back, and the next thing I knew, it hit me... Yuzu distracted it, so I ran here to warn you."
Mustering her last strength, she hugged Izuku and kissed his forehead. "Become a hero, do you hear me?"
With that said, she fell unconscious.
Izuku's world froze. In this world filled with discrimination, the only people who cared for him were his family members. The only people who cared for him were those who protected him. Their deaths would be more than painful or dreadful for him.
"AAAAAAAA!!!!!!" He screamed, trying to break the invisible shackles holding him.
"Stop it… These binds are impossible to break for a human."
Izuku didn't care; he wanted strength. He wanted to break free, and so he did.
"AAAAHHH!"
His hands were now free. He freed himself from Rukia's Bakudo spell.
Rukia opened her eyes wide as she saw the green-haired boy break free and run past her.
"I-Impossible! To break Bakudo... A-A human?"
With that, she dashed towards Izuku. She had a bad feeling about it.
Rukia's bad feeling proved itself to be more than right.
Yuzu was held by a giant fish-like hollow while Ishin was lying unconscious with his back bleeding.
"Y-Yuzu-nee!" Izuku screamed, wanting to dash towards the hollow, but was stopped by Rukia.
"Don't be stupid! How do you think you will defeat this monster?"
Izuku looked around; he saw his own dad struggling with his breath and being highly disoriented, while the hollow holding Yuzu looked towards Izuku.
"Izuku… Run away! I won't let you get hurt."
Izuku felt useless.
"The Hollow hasn't eaten their souls yet." Rukia said not giving the boy a chance to whine
"Didn't eat their souls?"
"It means that he was probably attracted by your scent... Your spiritual energy is way too high for a normal person." She held her fingers upward. "Hollows are beings who prefer souls with higher power over the weaker ones."
As she said, a plan occurred on Izuku's head.
He threw a pebble from the broken wall towards the hollow, getting its attention.
"You are after me, right!? Come and get me!"
Hollow dropped Yuzu as he dashed towards Izuku, who ran out of the house.
"Is this kid stupid!?" Rukia exclaimed, running after both of them.
Now outside, Izuku had no plan at all. He was dodging Hollow's hits with all the strength he could muster at the moment.
Yet again, he felt useless. His family always encouraged him, yet he did nothing in return. He wanted to save them, but in the end, he was always the one being saved.
"I am tired of this... I want to help people, but I never can!"
Finding an opening, he wanted to deliver a punch. Too bad it was too weak to even make Hollow to flinch.
The Hollow smirked as it opened its mouth, ready to eat Izuku, but…
Crunch.
It ended up biting Rukia, who pushed Izuku and Hollow away.
"ARE YOU DAMN STUPID!?"
Rukia screamed towards Izuku.
"You think your whining about your life will help you, huh?" She grabbed his collar. "If you want to die that badly, I won't stop you, however…"
"However what ? I know that I am powerless, but what can I do? I am fighting with everything I have! I want to be a hero. I want to save people with a smile on my face. I want to save everyone! Be it a bad person or a good person, I want…." Tears started to roll down his face. "To be the greatest hero of all time!"
Rukia smiled at this.
"HAH! That's the spirit!" She then held her sword upwards. "I will borrow you half of my powers, and in return, you will show me what you can do!"
Izuku wanted to question it, but he knew that he could believe the girl before him.
"I will… I will do it." He smiled with determination while wiping off his tears.
Meanwhile, the Hollow got back and started approaching them.
"Well, than...here we go!"
She pierced Izuku's chest with her sword.
A green light started to shine so brightly that it blinded Rukia.
Hollow, in the meantime, was in a hand reach beside both Izuku and Shinigami as he delivered a punch towards them. but…
SLASH
Hollow's arm was gone as Izuku stood there in a black robe with a huge sword twice his size resting on his hand.
Hollow screamed in pain, backing down.
Rukia was lying on the ground in a white robe. Her eyes were wide open, as she intended to give him half of her power but ended up giving him all of her powers and perhaps more. Her heart started to beat faster as she looked at the incredible amount of power Izuku was showing.
Everything now made sense to her. The reason she wasn't able to sense the hollow earlier was because of Izuku's spiritual energy, which was covering the whole room. It was something out of a fairy tale. Maybe God didn't grant him a quirk, but he granted him an almost never-ending amount of Reiryoku (spiritual power).
The hollow roared at his arm being slashed away as he dashed towards Izuku, who pointed his sword towards the hollow.
"Don't move." He spoke strongly as Hollow froze.
Rukia's jaw dropped.
"This…Don't tell me he was able to copy my Bakudo after seeing it for the first time!?"
Izuku slowly approached the hollow.
"You wounded dad, Karin-nee, and even Yuzu-nee... If hollows are the beasts who harm innocents to please themselves, then... " Izuku swished his giant sword down, cutting Hollow into two. "… I will become Shinigami and save everyone, even if it will cost me my life!"
The hollow in his back disappeared as Izuku turned towards Rukia, extending his hand.
"I never introduced myself properly... My name is Izuku Midoriya!"
Rukia smiled as she grabbed his hand.
"I know it already. Idiot."
This was the beginning of Izuku's adventures, being neither a hero nor vigilante. This was his journey to becoming the strongest Shinigami known to humanity. He will surely meet many obstacles in his way, but no matter what, he won't give up.
-End of the first chapter-
YO! Jumbo is here! Well, that was fun to write. I kind of remembered my childhood after seeing Bleach's second season and couldn't help but smile about the idea of MHA and Bleach worlds blending together.
Sorry for bad grammar as English ain't my first language.
As you already noticed, this is an AU kind of fic. I decided on making Inko dead, and I am sorry for this, as I also know how dope of a mom she is, but sacrifices should be made. Also in this fic, Ishin is Izuku's dad, and Karin and Yuzu are his older sisters. why? Cuz I love Nee-sans, okay?
This story is a massive harem, so be aware. As for Harem members... well, almost every Bleach waifu beside some are in harem.
In case you are scared that I will drop this fic, rest assured that I won't drop it. because I made a bet with my homies in discord that I would publish weekly, and in case I won't, I am obliged to send my nude (not like I mind it), so yep, I am fucked up. This fic will probably be 1000 chapters long, but I swear to make it worth wasting your time on it.
Updates are weekly, and in here I decided to give Izuku another Zanpakuto instead of Zangetsu. After all, I think Izuku swinging with a giant sword will be lazy writing on my part, so I decided to give him a new kind of Zanpakuto that is even more dope than Zangetsu.
Another aspect is that... I won't make Izuku op af, hell nah, instead he will be slowly becoming strong like the Shonen protagonist, and by the end he will have god-like power... but not now, but in the end, we will see Cinnamon Roll grow up and forge his personality. though I will warn you that he will be shy and innocent, cinnamon roll as fuck au Dekus who are badass and are insanely strong... I mean, I like when M.C. is strong, but it is lazy writing from my point of view.
Another chapter is next week, so I will be glad if you will wait. Love you all, and bye!
