I've been planning this, while I was writing Legends. I missed writing competition seasons and felt inspired to finally get this series out there.

So, as the description says, this'll be a What If season. The last season before this one would be Revenge. Pahkitew, All-Stars and Ridonculous Race have not happened. Chris is still in prison and Wawanakwa is still contaminated.

Also, for the potential questions I might get, all competitors in this season are 18. Kinda screws with the timeline, but my series, my rules.

Alright, with that out of the way, let's get things started. Thank you and I hope you enjoy!

A news reporter stared at her camera. Behind her was a caption that read, Total Drama: New Season? "Two years ago," she started. "Chris McLean was arrested for extreme negligence and for putting multiple teenagers on a radioactive infested island." The screen changed to a photo of the former host's mugshot and his smug grin. "He has been denied bail several times and still has a long way to go before finishing his sentence." The mugshot changed to a silhouette, with a blurred island behind it. "It seems the Total Drama producers are no longer waiting, and have green lit a new season. Originally, Mildred Stacey Andrews O'Halloran, better known by her stage name, Blaineley, was set to replace the host." An unflattering photo of the blonde gossiper, mid burp, was shown. "But due to an overwhelmingly negative fan reaction, her role was reduced and auditions have opened for a new host of the fifth season." She chuckled. "Though, one has to wonder who would be daft enough to be part of a show with the reputation like Total Drama." The screen went to static.

When it returned, it showed a young man, sitting on his bed. He was wearing an orange jacket, with a white undershirt. He had brown combed hair and a cleft chin. He stepped back so he was in frame and cleared his throat. "Hi. My name is Donald Riddick and I'm looking to be the new host of the next Total Drama season. When the show first aired, I knew I had what it takes." He grabbed a small pile of pictures . "I've already hosted a bunch of reality TV shows like The Laugh Inn, Bombastic Babes and Super-Zeroes." He showed each picture to the camera. "Those were decent, but I believe Total Drama will be my big breakthrough to stardom. If you don't believe me, allow me to give you a demonstration."

Don put the photos down, stepped back and prepared himself. "Total Drama is back ." He spoke as if he was on the show. "We're bringing back ten contestants from the previous season for another shot at the million. But ten isn't enough, so we're bringing another ten contestants who have never been on the show before, to compete against them. It'll be Rookies vs Newbies. For one side, it's a second chance at being a star. For the others, it's their first chance to shine. But, I can guarantee you, the million dollar cash prize will be on everyone's sights. We're on an all new island, but it'll be the same Total Drama feel you've come to recognize. With a new host to boot. Buckle up because…"

The camera went static again.

When it returned, Donald was now standing on a dock. He was now wearing a greenish-yellow jacket. Behind him was a large island. He spread his arms out. "...My name is Don, and this is Total…Drama…Omega!

Don walked along the dock. "Welcome to an all new season of Total Drama. If you're not familiar with how this show works, allow me to explain. Twenty competitors will be split into two teams of ten. They'll compete in challenges and vote off their fellow contestants. By the end of it all, one will remain and claim the one million dollar cash prize." He pointed at a pair of brown cabins. "That's where they'll sleep…" He then pointed towards an outhouse. "That's where they'll do their business, both literally and metaphorically." Then to a white building that was bigger than one of the cabins. "And that's where they'll eat." He finally turned his attention towards the dock and the boat that was next to it. "I'm currently standing on the Dock of Shame. And next to that is…" He chuckled, looking at the boat. "The Boat of Losers. This is how the competitors will leave the island, once they've been voted out. And it might look familiar, but we added something to it. My new head intern will demonstrate what it is." He put his hand up to his mouth, like he was calling for someone. "Oh, head intern…"

The head intern trudged towards him. Needless to say, she didn't look happy. Her long blonde hair was now scrunched up, in a messy bun and instead of her usual red dress, she had the same red shirt and green pants all the other interns wore.

"Glad you could grace us with your presence, Blaineley." He gasped dramatically. "Oh, wait, I forgot. That was your name when you were famous and relevant. Not now, of course. Now you're just…" He smirked. "...Mildred."

The formerly named Blainley gnashed her teeth. "What…do you want?"

Don pointed to his side. "Just stand over here. I'll have the other interns set you up."

Mildred begrudgingly followed the order. "I waited four seasons to host this show, only to get pushed aside for some hotshot Chris McLean wannabe."

"I seem to recall you were asked to host, but turned it down." Don responded. "And for the record, Chris McLean wishes he was me. I'm younger, I have better hair and, most importantly, I'm not in prison."

"Chris McLean is a psycho, I'll give you that." As Mildred rambled, she failed to notice the other inters strapping a vest, that was attached to a rope, onto her. "But it is still a crime that all my hard work for this show went completely unappreciated."

"You mean the time you tried to cheat and use Chris' pet to get ahead in the show?"

Mildred grumbled in response. "That isn't the point. Everyone loves calling me out for that. But I bring ratings to this show. Without me, you'd all be…all be…" It was at that moment, Mildred noticed the vest and the rope attached to her. She nervously looked at Don. "What is this?"

"I like to call it…a punchline." An intern handed him a walkie-talkie. Don put it up to his mouth. "Gun it!"

The boat revved its engine and sped forward. The rope was quickly being pulled behind it. Before Mildred had a chance to say anything else, it snagged and sent her straight up into the air. A large parachute opened up and she was suspended forty feet above the ground, being pulled along by the boat. Her screams got more muffled as she got further.

"And that is the paraglide of shame." Don laughed. "Our primary way of getting these competitors off the island." He turned to the intern. "Thanks, by the way." He held up his hand.

The chubby intern gave a deer in the headlights look and just stared.

Don raised an eyebrow. "Are you ok? You know what a high-five is?"

Something must've clicked inside the intern's head. Slowly he put his hand up and touched Don's palm. He then walked off, staring at his hand, in confusion.

The host watched him. "Geez, that kid needs a hug." He paused. "I think he's crying right now."

The first boat was approaching the dock. "Now that we've gotten through the basics, let's get to who's playing. For the first batch, we brought back ten competitors from the previous season, Total Drama Revenge of the Island." The boat came to a stop just at the edge of the dock. A ramp lowered to let the first competitor off. "Welcome returnee!" He exclaimed. But the competitor didn't share his enthusiasm. In fact, she looked very on edge. Don raised an eyebrow. "What's the matter? Aren't you excited to be competing again?"

A short haired blonde girl wearing gray sweatpants and a gray sweatshirt walked down. "No offense, new host guy." she said. "But the last time I was put on a boat on this show, it got blown up…with me on it."

"Ah, I see I've already been christened a new nickname, courtesy of Jo. I am honored."

The jockette smirked and looked around. "So where's all the toxic waste, anyway?"

"Oh, it's still on Wawanakwa. But we'll be using a new island for this season."

"New island? Sha-Dang!"

The next competitor ran down as a second boat was just leaving. He was ripped and wearing a blue and yellow jersey. "Lightning was hoping this season would be a challenge."

"And what makes you think it won't be?" Jo asked, annoyed.

"Isn't it Sha-obvious?" Lightning pointed. "First, you're here and Lightning's already beaten you. And second, we've got a third rate host who's probably gonna go all soft on us."

Before Don could reply, Jo interrupted. "He's already a stark improvement over Chris McLame. He actually recognizes talent."

Lightning blinked. "Oh, what did he say about me?"

Jo groaned, as Don watched in amusement.

The next two competitors got off their boat. One was a large guy, wearing a black trench coat over a red hoodie. The other was sitting on his shoulder, in lotus position. She was pale and had long blonde hair.

"B and Dawn." Don announced. "The silent genius and his aura reading friend."

The big guy gave a quick nod.

"And it is great to be on an island that isn't being used as a toxic waste dump for poor defenseless creatures." Dawn said.

Don looked up. "Speaking of toxic…"

A redhead had just gotten off his boat. He was wearing jeans and a white tank top. He sniffed and spit on the floor, emphasizing Don's point.

B and Dawn scowled as he made his way down.

"Scott…" The aura reader gritted her teeth.

The country boy just smirked. "Well, if it isn't my two favorite people ever." He said with fake enthusiasm. "Bev, how's the ice sculpting business going?"

B just rolled his eyes, then started moving his hands around vigorously.

Scott raised an eyebrow. "What's gotten into him?"

"He's signing." Dawn answered, watching the movements.

"Since when did Silent B Deadly learn sign language?" Jo asked, from the side.

"Oh, that's what that is?" Lightning added. "I thought it was some weird kung fu."

Dawn kept her focus on B. "B's always had trouble communicating with others. This way is much easier to get his point across." Once the silent genius stopped, Dawn turned to Scott. "As for you, B says he looks forward to getting his revenge for eliminating both of us. If you think you're gonna get away with it this time, you're in for a rude awakening. And…" Dawn's glare faltered. "...I don't think I can repeat the last part, but I can assure you it had malicious intentions."

Scott just scoffed. "Good luck with that." He took his bag and walked past the duo.

Another redhead walked onto the dock. Only this time, her hair was much brighter.

"Hey everyone." Zoey greeted, with a shy wave.

B shot a finger at her, while Scott just rolled his eyes. Dawn walked up to the Indie Chick. "Good to see you again, Zoey."

"You too, Dawn." she smiled, then looked up. "And you as well, B and Lightning."

The jock was surprised. "Sha-what?"

Static suddenly appeared on-screen. When it went away, Lightning was sitting inside the outhouse, looking forward to the camera.

Confessional (Lightning): He was still bewildered. "The redhead…isn't mad at Lightning? Lightning got her eliminated last season. This must be some trick. She's probably planning to get her revenge. Luckily, Lightning's got eyes in the back of his head. Check it!" The jock quickly stood up and turned around. On the back of his head was a poorly drawn smiley face. "Now Zoey won't be able to catch me off guard. I'm a sha-genius!"

Confessional (Zoey): "I'll admit, I was mad at Lightning, for a while. But, thanks to Dawn, I got over it. She said he had a really messed up childhood and he was put under a lot of pressure by his dad." She inhaled through her nose. "Scott…on the other hand…"

Static

"Where's your weirdo boyfriend?" The country boy snided.

Zoey glared, but took a deep breath. "For your information, he's dealing with the whole 'being in control of personalities' thing. Even if he can deal with it now, it's still new to him."

"And what about that whole commando thing you had going for you? When are we gonna see that?" Jo asked.

Zoey just looked at Dawn, and winked. The moon child smirked.

Confessional (Dawn): "After Revenge ended, I talked with Zoey about controlling her commando personality. She didn't want it to pop up again, especially after what happened with her and Cameron." She paused. "And she wasn't the only person I was helping…"

Static.

"Hey, you guys!"

Everyone turned around and gasped, except for Zoey and Dawn. The next two competitors arrived. The first had brown curly hair and glasses and was slightly overweight.

"Our resident gamer dude, Sam." Don said, slightly unnerved. "And…his recently de-mutified girlfriend…Dakota."

Dakota was indeed back, but looked significantly different than usual. She was a solid foot taller than before. Her hair was still blonde, but much shorter, only going as far as her neck. It also had some green streaks running through it. She was also wearing a plain pink shirt and blue jeans.

She smiled. "Hey, guys."

No one answered her, but Zoey and Dawn walked up to her. The moon child smiled warmly.

"You look great, Dakota." The indie chick said. "Is that a new top?"

Dakota's smile faltered. "Um…no, I've had this for a few months. It…It's still hard to find something in my size." She sighed.

Zoey quickly regretted her words, but Sam spoke first. "Don't worry, babe. Whatever you're wearing, you're still always my little battle star." The sadness on Dakota's face melted away and she blushed. Sam moved closer, but realized something. "Uh, babe, can you…move down a little? I can't reach you."

Dakota obliged and bent forward slightly, allowing her boyfriend to plant a kiss on her cheek. Most of the other contestants all gave an "awwww" but Jo and Scott were visibly disgusted.

The next competitor walked off the boat and onto the dock. He gave a salute. "Brick Macarthur, once again, reporting for duty."

"Hey, Brick." Zoey quickly ran up to her friend and wrapped him in a hug. "I never got to thank you for saving me, Mike and Cameron last season." She stepped back.

"No thanks necessary." The Cadet responded. "All part of my code."

"Yeah, the same code that got you eliminated." The jockette laughed.

Brick sighed. "Good to see you too, Jo."

"Don't listen to her." Dawn said, walking up to him. "I see a raging fire inside your aura. You're here to win this time."

The cadet immediately perked up. "Indeed I am. Things are gonna be different this time, I'm-"

"Y'all really saved the best for last?!"

The nine competitors all let out a collective groan. Don looked to see a boat coming up to the dock. The last Revenge competitor was standing at the edge of it. None of the others were happy to see her.

"And, rounding out the bunch," Don announced. "Anne-Maria!"

The big haired smack talker stepped onto the dock, with a confident smile. "Aw, yeah. This is my season to win!"

Most of her former alumni rolled their eyes.

Confessional (Zoey): "Well, at least Mike- Vito isn't here…"

Confessional (Brick): He coughed into his fist. "Being launched from a catapult wasn't fun already, but…being launched with someone made it more unpleasant. Especially considering who it was."

Confessional (Sam): "When Anne-Maria got eliminated, she kept telling everyone how robbed she was from winning." He chuckled. "You'd think there were two Staci's with how much she ran her mouth."

Confessional (Anne-Maria): "So, like, listen. If I hadn't eliminated myself last season, I totally would've won the whole thing. I did everyone a favor by leaving. They might as well just hand me the million dollars now, but I'm taking what's rightfully mine. That million bucks is gonna buy me a mansion, a yacht and a lifetime supply of hairspray."

Static.

"So where's the rest?" Jo asked Don. "Or is this it? Because I already smoked these guys once, I don't think the fans want to see the same thing twice."

Scott, Zoey and Lightning all raised eyebrows to this.

"Nah, Jo." Don answered. "This season will be-" At that moment, a hand reached out of the water and grabbed the dock. Everyone stared as Mildred pulled herself up. Her hair and clothes were completely drenched. Her scowl landed on Don, once she was standing. The host just chuckled. "You got here sooner than I expected."

Mildred held her glare and walked off.

Don turned back to the competitors. "Anyways, as I was saying, this season, you'll all be competing alongside each other against a team of new competitors."

This announcement was met with mixed feelings.

Confessional (Brick): He sighed. "Of course, I'm stuck on a team with Jo…again."

Confessional (Jo): "Of course I'm stuck on a team with leaks-a-lot, jockstrap, tanline…"

Confessional (Zoey): "It's cool I get to be on a team with Dawn and Brick, but on the other hand…"

Confessional (Scott): "Yup, pretty much no one on my team likes me. This is gonna be a challenge."

Confessional (Jo): "...pale-face, pork fried nice, tank top, blubber boy…"

Static

Don looked up. "And speaking of new competitors, here they come now."

Everyone turned. There was no boat and no sign of anyone approaching them. However, there was a loud buzzing sound. The ten competitors looked for the source of the sound. B was the first to spot it and pointed towards the sky. Through the clouds, a large cargo plane was approaching. It was at a slight downward angle.

"Geez, if they're coming on a plane like that, they must be tough." Dakota noted.

Brick, however, noticed something else. "They're…pretty low to the ground, aren't they? And with that angle, they're-"

"They'll crash into the ocean!" Dawn yelled. B tapped Dawn on the shoulder and started signing. "And with how close they are, they'll wipe out the dock." The moon child translated.

"Don't worry." Don said casually. "We'll be fine."

The competitors were unsure. "If that thing soaks my clothes, I'll sue." Anne-Maria declared.

The plane suddenly pointed down even further, not slowing down in the slightest.

The competitors wanted to get them off the dock, but Don reassured them they'd be safe. Sam and Dakota hugged each other tightly. Scott jumped behind B. Anne-Maria grabbed Zoey by the shoulders and shielded herself with her body.

The plane was still careening towards the water. Suddenly, at the last possible moment, it pulled up. The competitors screamed as it soared over their heads, missing them by inches. The back door opened and a bunch of things fell out of it and splashed into the water.

The Revenge alumni sighed in relief, but were still shaken up.

"You sure you're not related to Chris?" Jo asked.

"He wishes." Don smirked.

"What crazy person was flying that thing?" Lightning questioned. "Did you bring back Sha-Chef?"

"Nope. Those two are a package deal. No, the person flying that plane is…" His eyes fluttered. "...my beautiful and ever so talented wife. She'll be working behind the scenes for this season." He turned to Lightning. "So in case you're still wondering if this season is gonna be easy, I think you have your answer."

The jock gulped. The others were equally nervous.

It soon became apparent that the "things" that had fallen out of the plane were not actually things. Bubbles rose from underneath and popped when they reached the surface. A series of bubbles detached from the rest and moved towards the dock. "Time to introduce your opponents," said Don. "Up first, we have…"

A body suddenly sprang out from the water. She flipped in the air and landed on the dock, striking a graceful pose. However, as soon as she raised her arms, her foot slipped slightly, disturbing the rest of her landing. "Dang it!" She mumbled under her breath. "You're better than this, you're better than this, don't show weakness in front of them."

The competitor had short black hair, red feather earrings and was wearing black leggings. Don introduced her. "This…is Sky. An athlete and an aspiring olympian."

The Revenge alumni gaped at this.

"Olympian?" Sam cringed. "Geez, they're really not making it easy for us."

"Speak for yourself, Lame-boy." Jo scoffed. "She doesn't intimidate me."

"Yeah," Lightning added. "She's short."

"There seems to be an…unpleasant side to her though." Dawn pondered.

Once Sky noticed all the eyes on her, she regained her composure. "Hello everyone. I'm Sky. It's nice to meet you." She walked off to the side without another word.

Confessional (Anne-Maria): "Well she had a lot to say." she quipped sarcastically.

Static

Once Sky was out of the way, a hand reached up and grabbed the dock. The next competitor pulled herself up. Unlike Sky, this dark skinned newbie was insanely tall. "Up next, from the land down under, Jasmine."

The Australian smiled. "G'day, mates." She was decked out in safari gear, including a hat, vest and big black boots.

Jo didn't seem to care, until she noticed something. Next to her was Brick, who was completely wide eyed. His cheeks were red and his jaw was hanging open.

The jockette looked to see what he was staring at. She grinned. "So, that's your type, eh Drooly? Talk, dark and on safari?" She nudged him.

Brick snapped out of his trance and stammered. Jo laughed, and Brick's cheeks flushed red again. This time out of embarrassment.

On the dock, Jasmine turned around and reached into the water. She pulled something out from it.

"Unhand me, vile wench!" A purple haired guy demanded. "I will have your head for this."

The tall Australian rolled her eyes and unceremoniously dropped him on the dock. "You're welcome…" She said bluntly and walked off.

Don stepped in. "And following Jasmine, is the…" He gave an odd look. "...self-proclaimed evil boy genius, Max."

"Out of my way!"

Someone rushed by Max, inadvertently pushing him off the dock and back into the water.

A dark haired guy ran up to Don, out of breath.

"Are you alright, Dave?" Don asked.

"No. I'm not." Dave responded angrily. "I didn't want to be here, I didn't want to be thrown off a plane, I didn't want to get my clothes wet and I didn't want to spend two hours in a plane with-"

At that moment, a submarine sound rang out. The Revenge alumni, Jasmine, Sky and Don all looked around, but couldn't see anything. Dave let out a loud groan. "...him."

A few seconds later, another competitor emerged from the water. He was wearing a gray shirt with black overalls. He shook the water off of him and his hair poofed up into a massive afro. Theme music was playing, but it quickly became apparent that the newbie was making the sounds.

Don pointed at him. "Ah, the human sound effect machine, Beardo…" He then turned to the other. "And this is Dave, the…" He faltered. "The…"

"The guy who has a headache." Dave drolled and walked off to the other newbies.

"Wow, that's so cool." Sam ran up to Beardo. "So, can you, like, make other noises with your mouth?"

Beardo seemed startled. He stepped back, unsure of how to respond. But seeing the eager look in Sam's eyes, calmed him down. He gave a nervous nod.

The gamer guy was excited. "Can you do the theme music from Battle Busters?"

Beardo was still uncertain, but obliged. He began making 8-bit sounds to a musical beat. Sam's grin only widened. "Holy cow! Now do the power up sound effect." Again, Beardo hesitantly did what was told of him. "Now-"

"Babe." Dakota stepped in. "You're gonna give him a panic attack."

Sam settled down. "Right." He looked at Beardo. "Sorry, dude. But, seriously, that's the coolest thing I've ever seen someone do."

Beardo smiled, blushed and nervously scratched the back of his head.

From the side, Dave let out another groan. "One of them's bad enough…" He whispered to Sky. She didn't respond or even look at him. Dave just scoffed.

Max re-emerged from the water. "Insolent fools. Evil should not have to deal with such disrespect." He looked up in time to see the next competitor get back onto the dock. He was tall, wearing overalls and had orange hair. "You there!"

The big man pointed at himself. "Me?"

"You will serve me as my new brute. What is your name?"

"Rodney…"

"Oh, disgusting. Not nearly evil enough." The self-proclaimed evil genius tapped his chin. He then snapped his fingers. "Rodimus! It's perfect." He turned back to him. "Now, Rodimus. Fetch me the million dollars."

Rodney blinked. "I…don't know where it is."

Max groaned. "Well, go and look for it then."

"I…don't think I'm supposed to do that."

The little evil guy then assaulted his new brute with a barrage of multi-syllable insults.

The Revenge alumni watched on. Zoey turned to Dawn. "Hey, do you think you can read that guy's aura?"

"Oh, yes." Dawn said. "He lives with his father and his seven brothers on a farm. He's a kind, but very simple soul and he has no idea how to-"

"No, I meant Max. Unless you were already referring to him…"

"Oh," Dawn gave a weird look. "I already did and, honestly, I can't make heads or tails of it. It's like reading a book in another language and upside down."

Rodney was able to get away from Max and went towards his teammates. Jasmine was the first to greet him. "Hey, big man! What's going on?" She gave him a hard slap on the shoulder.

The farm boy didn't answer. In fact, he seemed lost in his own mind. From Rodney's perspective, Jasmine was surrounded by a pink frame full of streamers and little angels with arrows that had hearts on the tip.

Jasmine looked on in confusion as the farmer boy's expression changed to a goofy smile.

"You…Y-You…" He stuttered. "You have the…the eyes of…little cow droppings…"

The Australian raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

Rodney immediately snapped from his trance. "N-No, I mean that uh…your…eyes…are like manure and-" He stopped himself. "No, that's not what I meant either. I mean, like, manure is really helpful for us because…we can grow stuff and…your eyes make me think of…growing…stuff."

Jasmine cast a downward glance. "Good…to know." She turned around and pretended he wasn't there. Rodney let out a sad sigh.

Confessional (Rodney): "Yeah, I have a lot of trouble talking with girls. I do fine if it's my cousins or a stuffed mannequin, but with other girls, it's difficult." He smiled. "But, hopefully I'll get over it and then I can convince Jasmine to marry me someday."

Static.

Don introduced the next newbie. "From one red head to another. Here's Scarlett." The new competitor was wearing glasses, had her hair in a bun and was wearing a yellow sweater with a long green skirt. "So what's your deal?"

Scarlett adjusted her glasses. "My…deal." She said begrudgingly. "Involves pursuing an expansion in my scientific research. Sadly, due to limited resources, my studies are at an impasse. But, with the million dollars, I should acquire the means to continue and hopefully make breakthroughs in-"

"Got it." Don exhaled. "You're smart and you want people to know it."

"Well it's a little more than-"

"Wonderful." Don cut her off and pushed her to the side. "Up next, we have…" He trailed off.

The next newbie was about to make her entrance. But instead of swimming, like the others, she was riding on the top of a shark, humming a tone. The sharks, meanwhile, were absolutely enamored by the song. The pink dress wearing girl smiled gleefully, and when she saw the others, she waved. "Hello, everyone!"

Both the newbies and the Revenge alumni gawked in awe.

Zoey heard heavy breathing and looked at Dawn. She had a look of fear plastered on her face. "Dawn!? Are you okay?"

The moon child caught her breath and clutched her chest. "W-What?"

"You just kinda spaced out for a second. Are you alright?"

Dawn didn't answer immediately. She cast a quick glance at the shark riding girl. Zoey noticed. "Are you worried she's hurting the shark? I don't think she is, if it makes you feel any better. It seems like they kinda like it."

Again, Dawn didn't respond. She stared again at the arriving newbie, then back to Zoey. "Y-Yes. That's…what I was thinking about. Thank you for…reassuring me…Zoey." She looked away quickly. Zoey could tell her nerves were still shot, but didn't ask.

The new girl stepped off the shark and onto the dock. Don's jaw was hanging open. "Wow, Ella. When you said you had a way with animals, you weren't kidding."

Ella did a curtsy with her dress and went to be with the others. "Hello, all." She said excitedly. "It's a pleasure to meet you and I hope we all get to be good friends."

Her teammates were still perplexed. Except Max. He scowled. "Your magic and tricks do not intimidate me. Your goody good animal spells are no match for my evil mind."

"Actually," Scarlett interjected. "It wasn't magic. Judging by the tempo of her humming, she was performing a jazz piece, possibly from a classical piece. Sharks are quite fond of jazz music. They-"

"Silence!" Max bellowed. "Your smart words mean nothing to me. But, they do prove you're at least slightly above average intelligence, so you will be my new henchman…woman."

Scarlett glared at him but didn't respond.

The next new competitor made it to the dock. She was soaking wet like the others, but was very annoyed. She rushed towards Don.

"What is the meaning of droppin' a celebrity like me into the water?" She yelled, revealing her southern accent. "I can't be humiliated like this. I have sponsors. They can't see me with this messy hair and my wet shirt. My agent says I have to stick to PG."

Don leaned back, slightly amused, but also kinda terrified. "Well…Sugar. Like a true beauty pageant winner, you certainly know how to make an…entrance."

The large blonde haired girl immediately changed her tone. "Oh, why thank you. And like my Uncle Casey and a burger, you certainly know how to use your mouth."

"Ew…" Don mumbled, as Sugar walked past him.

"Oh, classic Chris…"

The final newbie made his way down the dock. He was wearing a blue collared shirt and green pants. His brown hair was slicked back. He seemed to be copying a look from a disgraced former host.

"You really know how to talk to the contestants." The newbie had his eyes closed as he walked along. "Honestly, I've taken so much inspiration from you and your show, I actually named my cat Chef. I don't care what anyone says, you're still the best. And now to be standing in your presence, it's truly a-" He opened his eyes, his smile immediately falling. "Who are you?"

"I'm Don."

The newbie looked around. "And do you work in catering or something?"

"No…I'm the host."

The newbie gasped. "Then where's Chris?!"

Don raised an eyebrow. "Still in prison."

"What?" The newbie froze.

Don quickly turned around. "And our final contestant: Topher!" He paused briefly. "That makes twenty. Our teams are set. Let's move to the cabins and we can get things started." He walked off the docks and towards the island. The other competitors followed. However, no one noticed that Topher was still on the dock, absolutely stunned.

"What?"

Confessional (Sky): She didn't look happy. "So far, my team isn't much to look at. Aside from me, Rodney, Jasmine and Scarlett, I don't know how useful they're going to be."

Confessional (Dave): "Yup, as predicted, my team sucks. We've got a girl who thinks she's in a fairy tale, a self-centered pageant queen and…" He shuddered. "...that bearded guy who won't shut up."

Confessional (Scarlett): "So far, my chances of winning the million are adequate. I'm smarter than pretty much everyone here. However, once they figure that out, it might be troublesome. It would be wise to keep quiet."

Confessional (Topher): He was still in shock. "What?"

Static

The twenty competitors followed the host.

"Uh, excuse me?" Sky spoke up. "Where's our bags?"

"At the cabins," Don said. "They're all waiting for you. Once we get there, you'll all get a chance to unpack." Sky let out a sigh of relief.

"What? Did you think they were just gonna throw your bags off the plane?" Dave asked rudely.

Sky glared. "It's my bag and I have important things in it. And with a show like Total Drama, you have to expect the unexpected."

Dave scoffed. "It baffles me why anyone would join this death trap."

The olympian raised an eyebrow. "Then why are you here?"

"My parents faked an audition tape and tricked me into signing a contract. I'm only here because I have to be. Hopefully by the end of the day, I'll get the boot."

"Well, we're not gonna lose." Sky countered, somewhat defensively. "And I don't need someone with your attitude on my team."

Dave just rolled his eyes.

Since both teams were walking side by side, everyone was able to talk with each other. Jasmine held out her hand. "Hey. Brick, right?"

The cadet stared. His cheeks flushed again. "Uh…yeah, that's…that's me." He hastily accepted the handshake. He then cleared his throat. "And you are…Jaslynn?"

The aussie chuckled. "No, it's Jasmine."

Brick immediately cringed at his screw-up, but tried not to show it. "Oh, apologies. I…I don't know what came over me to forget your name. I mean, you're hard to forget. I-I mean that…you're tall for a girl. N-Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just-" He stopped. Jasmine had gone ahead and was no longer paying attention. Brick sighed.

Confessional (Brick): "What is going on with me?"

Static.

Zoey had noticed Dawn's sudden change in behavior. She was quieter than usual and seemed to be walking, as if to avoid something.

Confessional (Zoey): "I've never seen Dawn so on edge before. Something must've thrown her off, and I have a feeling I know who can figure it out."

Static.

The indie chick looked at B. "Do you think you can do me a favor?"

The big dude gave a light shrug.

"Can you talk to Dawn at some point? I think something's up with her." B signed something to her. Zoey had a limited knowledge of sign language, but judging by his concerned expression, she was able to figure it out. "I don't know. It might have something to do with that pink dress wearing girl. That's when she suddenly changed." B gave a thumbs up. Zoey smiled. "Thanks, B. I knew I could-" She bumped into something. She quickly turned around. "Oh, sorry about that."

Just like Jasmine, Zoey was suddenly surrounded by a pink filter and hearts. Or at least that's what Rodney saw. He lovingly gazed at her. "No…" He sighed dreamily. "...it was my pleasure."

Zoey gave an odd look and turned the other way. Rodney kept staring, until he suddenly snapped out of his trance. "Oh, no."

Confessional (Rodney): "It happened again. Now what am I supposed to tell Jasmine? The wedding's off?"

Confessional (Topher): He had a piece of paper in hand. He held it up to the camera. "Nowhere on this contract does it say Chris McLean isn't hosting and he'll be replaced by some nobody. The plan was simple. Get in the good graces of Chris, eventually leading to me turning on him and embarrassing him on national TV and then cementing myself as the most popular contestant in Total Drama history. It was all laid out for me." He pondered. "I guess I'll just have to let my natural charm do all the work. Shouldn't be too hard."

Static

"Alright, now can you do…a chainsaw battle ax? Like the one from that zombie slayer movie."

Once again, Beardo obliged. At this point, he was getting tired of Sam's requests, but a small part of him was happy that someone was enjoying his sound effects.

Ella glanced around at all the other competitors.

Confessional (Ella): "Ever since the third season of Total Drama, I knew I had to be part of this show. It's been a dream to perform on TV, or in front of an audience. Now I get to show everyone."

Static

The fairy tale princess immediately began singing. "I…am here to sing to you all…Her singing was met with mixed reactions. Some were happy to let her have the moment, but others were clearly annoyed. At long last, my time has come…to be on the show…and show you how I show my-"

"Shut yer yap!"

Ella walked into the open palm of one of her teammates. She fell back onto the ground. Before she could say anything else, the hand pointed at her.

"What exactly makes you think you can come onto this show and upstage me?" Sugar bellowed.

The princess stuttered. "But, I wasn't-"

"Just do us all a favor and keep your pretty little songs to yerself." She spun around and walked off. Ella was stunned.

Soon, they arrived at the cabins. They were very similar to the originals. Two medium sized brown single floor buildings with two doors, a small stairway and two windows.

Don turned to face the competitors. "This is where you'll be living for the duration of the competition. The rooms are separated by gender. Since there's five boys and five girls for each team, you'll each get your own bed." The competitors seemed happy about this, but one wasn't as excited.

Confessional (Jasmine): "I've seen what the beds look like on the show. Due to my height, I'm used to sleeping with my feet hanging off the edge." She sighed. "Still, I kinda hope I get to sleep in an actual bed…at least once."

Static

Don pointed at the cabin to his right. "This cabin will house the former Revenge of the Island competitors. That means, Lightning, Brick, Jo, Zoey, Anne-Maria, Sam, Dawn, Dakota, B and Scott, you'll all be living under the same roof."

B and Dawn both cast glares at the country boy. He just rolled his eyes.

But Don wasn't done, however. "Also, your new team name is officially…The Rookies."

Sam was confused. "Rookies? How are we rookies? This is our second time competing."

"Because we didn't think you guys got a long enough season to really get the Total Drama feel. Plus, it'll make sense once I tell you the other team's name." Don then pointed at the other cabin. "As for the rest of you: Dave, Jasmine, Beardo, Sugar, Sky, Topher, Rodney, Ella, Scarlett and Max, you'll be known as…The Newbies!"

"Makes sense." Scarlett acknowledged. "Though it's a little juvenile."

Dave looked uncomfortable.

Confessional (Dave): "The idea of being on an island with a bunch of people I don't know is bad enough. Now they're telling me I have to share a cabin with them?" He shuddered. "I can't wait to get out of here."

Static.

A bunch of bags were in front of one of the cabins. Don explained. "Newbies, as I said, your luggage is here. I'll give you all this time to unpack and break the ice." He was about to walk off, but stopped. "Oh, one last thing. If you find the accommodations lacking, you'll want to hear this. There will be prizes for every challenge. The winning team will receive something new to add to their cabin. Could be an AC, heated blankets, a fridge or-"

"A TV!?" Sam said excitedly.

Don shook his head. "Afraid not. This is still a survival based reality show. Can't let you guys have too much fun."

Scott then realized something. "So, wait, is the invincibility statue still around? From last season?"

"Oh, you mean the statue that gives you immunity for one elimination ceremony and, instead, eliminates the person with the second amount of votes?" Scott nodded vigorously, waiting for Don's answer. "Nope. We have enough competitors where we don't need it. So the only thing that will save you from elimination is not losing."

Scott gulped, not noticing the other competitors giving dark grins.

Confessional (Scott): "Ok, now this is really gonna be a challenge."

Static

Once Don had left the Newbies went to go get their bags. Dave, still not happy about his living situation, went to get his. Nearby, he noticed Sky frantically looking through her's.

"Where is it? Where is it?" She whispered. "If any of them lost it, I'll-" She stopped, a sense of relief washing over her face. "There you are." She pulled out a necklace.

Dave was curious. "What's that?"

Sky turned, only just now noticing her teammate. "It's a gift from my big sister. She gave it to me right before I left." He opened her palm, revealing a silver crescent moon. "She has the other piece, which is a sun. She says that whenever I feel alone, I should look at it and I'll feel her presence."

Dave gave a blank look for a few seconds, then scoffed. "That's ridiculous. Does the necklace run on some freaky made up voodoo magic?"

The olympian took great offense. She stood up and marched up to Dave. "That was completely uncalled for! Anyone who insults my sister is gonna answer to me."

Dave gave a small grin. "I wasn't insulting your sister, I was pointing out how bizarre it is for two siblings to have this…freaky mind connection."

Sky gnashed her teeth and pointed a finger at Dave's chest. "Listen here. I don't know where you get off with this disrespect, but if you keep it up, you'll be out of this game before long." She turned around and stormed off into her side of the cabin.

"Oh no…" Dave feigned. "That's the last thing I want to happen." He chuckled lightly.

Confessional (Dave): "Do I honestly care about Sky's sister and her necklace? Nope. But it means she doesn't like me. And if she doesn't like me, that's another vote against me. Which means I'm one step closer to getting out of here."

Static.

Dave's gleefulness quickly disappeared, once he stepped into his cabin. They were decent enough, but smaller than the ones from the first and fourth seasons. Only five single beds occupied it, two on the left, two on the right and one on the opposite side. It also had a window, a carpet, a furnace, a single bench and a drawer.

However, Dave was more concerned about what his roommate situation was like. Beardo was sitting on a bed beatboxing as he unpacked his stuff, Rodney had taken off his shoes and was sitting on the floor and Max was looking over his unopened bag. He spotted Dave and pointed at him. "You there! Do as your evil master commands and open my luggage. Pure evil does not unpack and fold his own tighty-whities."

Dave groaned.

Confessional (Dave): "And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I forgot that my team sucks. Now I'm stuck with a bunch of weirdos. I doubt that farmer guy even knows what a bar of soap looks like."

Static

The newbie grumbled and threw his bag onto his bed. He got even more bummed when he realized he got the middle bed, stuck between Max and Beardo. He heard some footsteps and turned around. He perked up slightly when he saw Topher. "Finally, another normal guy."

"Normal?" Topher scoffed. "If there is anything Topher isn't, it's normal. Normal doesn't earn you stardom. Normal doesn't get you ratings. And most importantly, I'm not gonna anywhere on this show if my one defining trait is-"

"Normal?" Dave assumed glumly, realizing he spoke too soon. Topher nodded and went to his bed. Dave lay down on his bed and buried his face in his pillow.

On the girls' side, Jasmine's assumptions were correct. Her bed was way too small for someone her height. She went outside.

Sky, meanwhile, was still upset about what Dave had said. She kept staring at her necklace.

"That's a lovely piece of jewelry."

The olympian looked up to see Ella sitting by her side. She gave a small smile. "Thanks, but it's more than a piece of jewelry. It's…" Her smile faltered. "...not worth explaining."

Ella held her smile. "Well, if it means something to you, it clearly has value. We all have something that makes us special. You have your necklace." She pointed at her other teammates. "Scarlett has her big brain and Sugar has her amazing confidence."

The pageant queen shot a glare at the fairy tale princess. "And you think I need someone tellin' me how confident I'm supposed to be?"

Ella stammered. "N-no, that's not what I meant. I was referring to-"

"To what? My natural good looks? My amazin' hair? I don't need some fancy schmancy dolled up dweeb telling me what I already know. Just shut yer yap before it gets you in trouble."

Ella's lip quivered. She sat down on her bed and stayed quiet.

Confessional (Sugar): "I've seen her type. They're all like…" She mimicked a high pitched voice. "Oh, look at me, I'm so sweet and marketable and wouldn't hurt a fly. Then the next thing you know, they stab you in the back and nearly tank your pageant career. Ella ain't foolin' anybody, especially this gal."

Static.

Jasmine looked up and around. She was standing in front of her cabin. From the guys side, someone walked out. The Aussie looked at him and smiled. "Oh, hey." She went up to him.

Beardo, upon being noticed, froze up. He glanced around nervously.

"How you doing?" She asked. Beardo didn't answer. Jasmine raised an eyebrow. "Uh…sorry, I forgot your name. What was it?"

The bearded newbie, again, didn't answer. But Jasmine wasn't going to leave until she got an answer. He thought for a moment, then got an idea. He pointed at his chin.

Jasmine was confused. "Yeah, I see it. It's your beard…" Then it hit her. "Oh, right. Beardo. The guy who made those sound effects." He gave a thumbs-up. "So you don't talk much, is that it?" Beardo shook his head. "You can make sound effect noises if that makes you feel more comfortable."

Her teammate's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly obliged and made a 'ding-ding' sound, which made Jasmine chuckle which, in turn, made Beardo blush.

"If you don't mind me asking," Jasmine asked. "What do you plan on doing with the million dollars? I'm trying to get a feel for our teammates."

Beardo started beatboxing and making record scratching sound effects. Jasmine pondered for a minute, before realizing. "Oh, you wanna be a DJ?" Beardo made another 'ding-ding' sound. "That's cool. I'm hoping to use it to travel the world with my family." Beardo responded with an airplane sound effect, which again made Jasmine laugh. "Alright, I'm gonna head to the bathroom. I'll see you later." She started walking away, before turning around. "By the way, your way of communicating is cool, but I hope I can actually talk to you at some point." She turned around again and headed out.

Beardo was at a loss for words…more so than usual.

Confessional (Beardo): He struggled to think of something to say. He took a deep breath and mumbled softly. "Jasmine's…pretty cool."

Static.

From the other cabin, Brick watched Jasmine in admiration. He sighed longingly. His thoughts were interrupted when he felt a hand slap his shoulder.

"That's a pretty tall order, ain't it lover boy?" Jo laughed.

Brick flushed again, and quickly pushed his rival's hand off. "I-It's not like that. She just seems like a formidable opponent is all."

Jo wasn't buying it and punched him in the shoulder. "Well, whatever it is, you need to focus. I ain't letting some love sick joke of a jock bring this team down." She might've insulted him further, when she noticed a flash of blue run past.

Lightning was jogging in place. "C'mon, Jo. Lightning needs a warm-up before the first challenge. Race around the island, first one back wins."

The jockette grinned and cracked her knuckles. "Oh, I'll give you a warm-up." She walked down, but turned back. "You in, soggy?"

Brick frowned. "You just insulted me three times in a row. Why would I want to do anything with you?"

Jo just shrugged. "Suit yourself, brick for brains. But at least in season one, you had somewhat of a spine. With the way you're going, you'll last even shorter than you did in our first season." She turned around and headed off with Lightning.

"I give him four episodes." The mega-jock said.

Jo scoffed. "If he's lucky…" The two took off in a sprint. Brick watched them.

Confessional (Brick): "I only have two regrets from my season. One is abandoning my team in the woods challenge, the other is not getting the chance to one-up Jo. That's gonna change this season, and as much as I hate to admit it, she made a good point. Whatever this feeling is, I can't let it interfere in the game…at least until Jo's gone."

Static.

Scott sat on his bed. He was sulking to himself.

"You alright, man?" The country boy looked up and groaned. Sam asked again. "Still bummed about the invincibility statue?"

"What do you think, soft serve? The one thing I needed to guarantee my safety, and it isn't here."

Sam shrugged. "I don't know, man. Maybe try apologizing or something, that might help."

Scott scoffed. "Yeah, like that'll help. Why don't I take them on a picnic while I'm at it?"

The gamer boy chuckled. "Might not be a bad idea. Dakota and I went on a picnic when she got out of her mutation therapy."

At that moment, Brick entered the cabin. "Actually, been meaning to ask about that. What happened with her?"

Sam sat on his bed and sighed. "A lot of intense physical therapy and treatment. Thankfully, her dad's super rich and paid for everything. They couldn't get her fully back to normal, but she's a lot happier."

Brick smiled for his teammate. Scott just groaned and fell back onto his bed.

On the girls side of the cabin, things were a lot more chipper.

"Eeeeeeee!" Squealed Dakota, wrapping both Dawn and Zoey in a hug. "I got a cabin with my besties!" She jumped up and down.

Dawn was content with it, but Zoey was clearly uncomfortable, but smiled nonetheless.

Confessional (Zoey): "After we left the show, Dawn got in contact with me. She wanted to find a way to help me control Commando Zoey. It worked and I've never had an outburst since the first time. Then, after Dakota left her mutation therapy, Dawn brought her on too. The three of us bonded a lot and it really helped Dakota out. She's still a really strong hugger, but I know she means well."

Static.

"Alright, so after I left mutation therapy, Sam took me on a picnic and he made all the food and it was so good. He'd been taking cooking and baking lessons while I was gone, and it was the sweetest thing. You guys seriously need to try his shortbread cookies. They're soooo good…" She went on and on, while her two friends listened.

One onlooker, however, found the whole situation annoying.

"I don't get why you're all so peppy." Anne-Maria grunted. "This is a competition, not a tea party. You need to actually take this game seriously."

Zoey frowned. "The first challenge hasn't even started."

Dakota chuckled. "Do you think we're gonna listen to the person who left the game because she thought she had struck it rich, when really she had something that couldn't even buy her a new tanning spray?"

Anne-Maria glared at her, as the others laughed. "You should be lucky I left. Had I stayed, you all would've lost." She then grinned. "Well, you would've done worse than you already did."

Dakota and Zoey just rolled their eyes, but Dawn looked concerned. "Your need for popularity has really taken over your life. Coming back for another season was a mistake. If you don't leave soon, you'll-"

"I'll make bigger fools of you than I did last time!" The Jersey Shore Reject snapped and she stormed out of the cabin.

Zoey and Dakota both laughed, but the Indie Chick stopped. Dawn was staring at the wall that separated the Rookie boys from the Rookie girls. She gave a knowing look. "You worried about Scott?"

Dawn jumped slightly and turned to her friend. "What?"

"I asked if you were worried about Scott…"

The moon child didn't answer immediately. She seemed to be processing what to say. Zoey was about to ask if anything was wrong, but Dawn spoke first. "Y-Yes. I'm worried about him. With the statue gone…he might try even harder to…stay in the game." She smiled nervously.

Zoey was still concerned, but didn't say anything. She went back to talking with Dakota. Dawn turned back to the wall and stared, a hint of uncertainty in her eyes..

From the outside of the cabins, Don walked up to the camera. "Now that we've caught up with the former Revenge alumni and gotten to know the newbies they'll be competing against, things are about to get interesting. Their first challenge is coming up…" He looked off to the side. "It is coming, right?"

An exhausted Mildred suddenly fell onto the ground, on-screen. Her hair was greasy and her face was smudged. She glared at the host. "Yes, it's ready. Can I go take a shower?"

Don shrugged. "Sure, but you better make it quick. The challenge is gonna start soon."

"But this filth is gonna take at least an hour to wash off."

"Don't really know why you want to take one now. You're gonna be manning part of this challenge with the other interns."

Mildred groaned and face planted into the dirt.

Don just chuckled and turned back to the camera. "What fun. Now that the challenge is ready, we can get rolling. We'll see if the Rookies lost their step and if the Newbies actually know what they've gotten themselves into. But one of them will say good-bye to a fellow teammate. Find out who'll snuff it first, next time on…Total…Drama…Omega!"

Yeah, not a ton of action, but that's the point of the first episode. It's designed to introduce characters and set up storylines. Next chapter will primarily be dedicated to the challenge.

What does everyone think so far? Who you got going home first? I love hearing what people have to say, so please leave a review, if you feel like it.

I mainly wanted to write this series as a way to give the Pahkitew cast a better introduction. There was a lot of untapped potential with some of the characters and I hope to show it here. It's also a challenge because I'm dealing with a lot of characters I wouldn't consider writing for (Max, Scarlett, Ella, Sky).

And for the potential people that might ask, I am aware of how I am writing Dave. I know he's a divisive character and I never liked how he was introduced in Pahkitew. He jumped from being the straight man, to a germaphobe, to trying to impress Sky, and it all seemed like they had no idea how to handle his character. Rest assured, I know exactly what I'm doing. I have made a change to another character, which will become more apparent next chapter.

Anyways, let me quickly run through the cast. This wasn't what I originally had planned. Amy and Sammy were going to be part of the cast, but I already used them in Total Drama Legends and didn't want to risk copying what I did with them already. Max and Scarlett replaced them. Staci was also going to be part of the cast and only gonna last until chapter 4, but I worried what I had for her would just get repetitive and boring. Dakota took her spot. And why no Shawn? I didn't have anything for him. Like him as a character, but also feel kinda limited with the zombie stuff. And, since I didn't mention it a ton, the island is called Kihci.

Next chapter should (hopefully) be more fun. Hope to get it out soon.

Take care and have a good one!
