I don't own any profits or rights to the story; everything belongs to those who created the show in the first place, oh, and Disney, who brought them out.
This story is not Cannon and will have characters' names from other TV shows, cartoons, and comics, all with our hero and villain's names. I rated M for swearing, Violence, and bloodshed. Maybe a bit of fluff as well.
The Bounty Hunters
Chapter 1
It has been years since graduation and the alien invasion. Ron was walking towards old Middleton Lake, wondering where his life had taken him to now. Ron's prospects of a life with Kim were destroyed when he discovered that she was gay and had only thought of him as a loser sidekick. All he has now are memories and a few secrets that Kim will never know about or even wonder what his life is now.
Kim admitted only a few days after graduation that she never loved him; it was all for show, love for a hero who saved her life and the world through their many missions together. Then during the school years, that love turned into pride. Ron was then forgotten as his popularity began to fall after the invasion. His antics became an embarrassment and sometimes shame as Kim fell out of love with him. His heart broke as the relationship ended only two weeks after graduation when he walked in on her while she was with another lover.
Ron would have understood if it was another man, but it was another woman, and that hurt. This other woman was also a rival of Kim's who had fought with her throughout their school years that he couldn't understand. Ron then drank himself stupid for several months, trying to understand why he hadn't noticed Kim being gay before. After sobering up, he realized all the signs were there; he never could understand women.
Soon Ron had to get a job to keep him busy; he still had lots of money left from his monthly royalties, so he studied as a chief and then opened a restaurant. But something was missing that didn't scratch that itch that he felt all through his school years. The answer came from an old rival, a villain turned good after the invasion, who then returned to villainy when he couldn't make ends meet.
At first, they were simple jobs. The first target tried to rob his restaurant, but Ron arrested him. When he handed him over to the police, they gave him a bounty for the arrest. Ron was confused until the chief of police informed him that since global Justice had been dissolved by the government, which was another story in itself, they needed help to find and arrest the criminals who had escaped. Ron then realized that Bounty Hunting was that itch he needed.
So all Ron had to do was find out where they were hiding and go and get them. At first, they were easy jobs, stopping and arresting small-time criminals for bounties. The problem became difficult when the targets began to fight back hard, and he was injured a few times. So Ron spent a year in Japan restoring him to peak fighting fitness. One of his targets had destroyed his ride this night when he forced him off the road. As the criminal tried to escape, Ron stopped him with his bolas. He was walking home tonight with his car in the garage getting repaired.
After the invasion, h
is parents' place was deemed unlivable, so they left Middleton forever, never to return to Middleton. So Ron had to find a place to stay, and that was when he bought a mansion on an island in the middle of Middleton's freshwater reservoir. Well, it was closer to what was now called old Middleton. So Ron began walking towards the only road bridge to get to the island, built over a century ago by the island's first owner.
This meant he had to walk through the most dangerous part of the road, the part that went through old Middleton.
After the invasion, the cost of living skyrocketed, and many people became homeless and began living anywhere they could find. Middleton was deemed unlivable by the politicians and was abandoned, not to be repaired. Then the crime bosses rebuilt Middleton, and part of Ron's old high school became a prostitute and drug den. People started to live anywhere they could find. In caves, cars, caravans, tents, and makeshift huts made from materials from the very buildings that needed to be torn down and rebuilt.
Without his car, Ron had to use his skills as a ninja to quietly make his way toward the bridge and home. Then he came across three thugs attacking a single woman. Ron saw this type of thing happening all the time in old Middleton, and most times, he would give the thugs a good beating and save the woman in question, even take them home if he knew them.
The blonde woman was holding up great against the three men; she was using a skill that he had seen many times before in high school. He thinks they called it cheerleading martial arts, and the woman used it very well. That was until she forgot to keep an eye on one of the men that came behind her and hit her hard across the head with a bat, knocking her out. That was when Ron stepped in.
The attacker approached the woman's body, "Gee, I Hope you're not dead; I was going to have some fun with ya!" One of the smaller thugs then checked her over and said,
"She still alive, boss,"
"Good! Still means we can have some fun with her body before we can sell her to Brotherson," said the thug with the bat. That was it; suddenly, his bat as it flew up into the air and over his head. As he looked in the air for the bat, the bat returned and hit him across the back of his head with some force, splitting his skull in two.
"You three are very brave to attack a lone girl," said the now dark figure as he kicked up the unconscious thug to see he was alive. "Looks like he lost half of his brains," and pushed him into a ditch. "Okay, who is next?" said Ron. Looking at each other, the two remaining thugs decided it was time to run. Ron threw the bat away and walked up to the girl. He poured some water from his canteen on her face. She started to cough and splatter and held her head. Then Ron saw who it was; even after all these years, he still knew who it was.
"Ow, that hurt?" she said
"Are you okay, Tara?" asked Ron
"Ronnie! What are you doing here," said Tara
"Just passing through!" he said
"Shit! What hit me?" she asked.
"You were having so much fun with the two thugs, you failed to see the one with the bat!" said Ron
"I suppose you want me to be grateful that you showed up! Thought you ran away to Japan?" said Tara
"Only for a few months to train; been back for some time now. So what happened to you, and why are you here? Is there any way I can help?" asked Ron. Just as Ron helped Tara to stand, she almost fainted again. Ron helped her to sit on a rock and checked her head, "That's a bad cut. You may need to come to my place so Ann can fix that up," said Ron
"I will be okay? This is nothing new," said Tara as Ron unzipped a side pocket and pulled out a fist aid kit and a mirror. I opened it, found some antiseptic, and poured some on a clean bandage.
"This may hurt a bit," said Ron, placing it on her wound.
"It did," said Tara as she held the bandage, "What the hell are you doing here anyway? Not that I am grateful for the save,"
"I was heading home?" said Ron
"Home! Where's home?"
"Across the bridge?" said Ron
"In that haunted mansion on the island?"
"It's not haunted, just protected," said Ron
"How do you mean protected?" asked Tara
"I can't say here; how about I take you to see Ann, and I'll show you?" asked Ron.
"Ann, who?" asked Tara
"Possible, Kim's mum. Saved her and Kim's cousin one night after I returned from Japan, just as I did for you," said Ron
"Why didn't Kim save her?" asked Kim
"Don't know where she is; last time I saw her was when we broke up. Ann hasn't seen her either, not since her husband, Mr. Dr. P, was killed in a lab explosion. But I will let her tell you everything when we get there if you still want to come home," said Ron
"Okay then, but I need to return to where I am staying and grab my things. If I leave my stuff there any longer, it will be stolen," said Tara.
"Okay, let's go then," said Ron as he helped Tara slowly stand and began walking to the cave where she was staying.
"Ronnie, did you find out that you could have had a chance with me in high school?" said Tara
"I was told that you had a crush on me?" said Ron
"A crush? How did you know I had a crush on you?" said Tara
"Kim told me?" said Ron
"Did she! Just when did she tell you?" asked Tara
"About the time you started to go out with Josh," said Ron
"Not before?" Ron shook his head in the No, "Fuck that fucking gay bitch!" said Tara, very angry.
"What?"
"I asked her a year before you went to Japan after you saved us at Camp Wannaweep if she could ask you out for a date for me; she said you were too busy and didn't have the time for a girlfriend," said Tara
"She said that?" and Tara nodded, "With all the crap I took from that gay bitch, I could have been with you?" said Ron
"So she finally told you that she was gay?" asked Tara
"You knew?" said Ron.
"Of course! All the girls knew, so when did you find out?" asked Tara.
"I walked in on her one day with another woman. She admitted that I was only supposed to be the sidekick, and she couldn't go through a day without being with another woman. She used to go to Go-city to the gay bars so that no one in Middleton would know she was gay. She said that going out with me was a huge mistake and that she was sorry! Ha! You wouldn't guess who her girlfriend was?" said Ron
"Let me guess, Bonnie!" asked Tara.
"How did you know?" said Ron,
"We all knew that Bonnie was gay! She told me she was using all the boys as a front, but she never did anything with them," said Tara.
"So that's why we didn't do the dirty when I had my millions?" said Ron, and Tara nodded, "So they weren't the so-called rivals as they always said they were! Were they lovers all through high school?"
"Bonnie has had an affair with all of us cheer girls! Including me. But she was in love with Kim mostly, and then they met in Go-city just before graduation," said Tara
"Dam!" said Ron as they came to a small cave.
"We are here; look, I am staying with a friend you may know! Let me go in and see if she will talk to you first," Ron waited outside while Tara walked in. A few minutes later, two women ran out and said,
"Ronnie!" and when Ron turned around, he was tackled down to the ground by them.
