Chapter 1 – Lost my love
"Do you think they will notice if we don't leave this room?" he whispered to her as he nuzzled her neck, lightly kissing the exposed skin.
"Hhhmmm…. Well, I'm sure my captain would notice my absence as I am his third seat." She replied to him as he rolled to lay on top of her, trapping her beneath him.
"Maybe he'll be to busy with that sake that will be delivered to him shortly." He kissed her as she started to laugh at his comment before pulling back.
"Promise me something…."
"Anything."
"Never leave." She whispered. He stopped biting at her neck to look into her eyes, while raising an eyebrow.
"Such a silly thing to promise, I have no plans on leaving anytime soon, neither this room nor anywhere else. Why ask for such a favor?"
He watched as she sighed, running her hand down his face.
"Because you have become incredibly necessary to me." She whispered before he smiled and went back to kissing her, trying to take away any of those thoughts.
Kisuke woke with a start, it had been a long while since he had a dream like that. He slowly sat up, wiping his face with his hands. Moving to sit on the edge of his bed he turned his head to a picture frame that was on his nightstand. It held a picture of him and a woman with long red hair in a high ponytail smiling into the camera. The woman hung on his back while he held her legs wrapped around his waist. Her hazel eyes held a shine full of laughter in them that showed how happy she was at that moment and held contrast to her tanner complexion, which made the tattoo that flowed like waves down her neck, shoulders and arms.
He heard his bedroom door slide open and he saw Tessai kneeling there.
"Boss, you're a wake. You look pale, did you sleep okay? Are you feeling ill? I have the perfect cold remedy that will knock that right out!"
Kisuke's eyes widened, and he shook his head rapidly and waved his arms.
"No way! I don't want any of your cold remedies! The last one you gave me was expired! I'm fine!" he protested.
Kisuke watched as Tessai just shrugged and closed the door after he left. Kisuke sighed, letting out a sigh of relief.
'I don't think I'd survive another expired medication situation.'
Kisuke adjusted his hat on his head, his attention being drawn back to the photo in the frame again, he clenched his fists before turning his head and walking out of the room.
FLASHBACK
"How about this one?" He asked her while he put the hat on his head turning to face his laughing companion.
"You can't be serious?" She said while laughing. "You might as well get these clogs and just complete the whole look."
"That's a great idea Kimiko, we'll take the clogs also!" He stated happily to the woman at the counter.
"Kisuke, you can't be serious!" Kimiko exclaimed, the laughter subsiding as she followed behind him towards the counter.
"I think you're going to grow to love this look." He said as he glanced at her out of the corner of his eyes smirking at her.
END FLASHBACK
Kisuke sat at his table sipping his tea, letting his min drift to the past.
"Why are these memories coming back now?" he thought to himself. He continued to sip his tea, until he almost choked on it feeling something he hadn't felt in over one hundred years. "Impossible…. No…." he closed his eyes trying to pinpoint the spiritual pressure, it was faint, but it was unmistakable.
"Kimiko." Kisuke whispered to himself as he stood to walk towards the front of his store. He pulled his hat lower to cover his eyes as he looked around, when suddenly the entrance door slides open, causing the bell to ring. Kisuke heard Tessai make his way to the front but stopped when he saw the same person Kisuke did.
Her long bright red hair was pulled into a high ponytail, she has a smile on her face as she looked at all the candy. Tessai moved over to Kisuke a bit unsure.
"Boss…. Is that?" He started to ask but the words fell away.
Kisuke continued to stare at the woman inspecting her. She was the same 5 foot 3, same body shape, the only thing missing was the wave like tattoos that extended from her lower neck down her body and arms.
Kisuke continued to watch the woman who was singing a song to herself. He stepped closer to try and hear the words.
"When you said goodbye, but you just can't leave, when you hold so tight, that your hands they bleed, so take these lungs 'cause you were my air." She sang beautifully, and that struck at Kisukes heart, because he loved hearing Kimiko sing, especially since she did it often.
The woman turned and something caught the sunlight from the open door. Causing Kisuke to almost collapse, his eyes drawn to the necklace around her neck, he gasped loudly.
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I do hope you're open, I saw your shop, and something just drew me here, seeing all this candy just has my head reeling." The woman said while smiling at Kisuke and Tessai, she brought her eyes up to them and her Bright hazel eyes shown with such spirit, but no recognition Kisuke noticed.
'Impossible… She's dead.' He thought to himself, still not able to get himself to do anything besides stare at her.
Tessai noticed that it was starting to make the woman uneasy, so he decided to act.
"No problem miss. My name is Tessai, the store manager, this here is Kisuke Urahara, the owner." Tessai said with a large smile as he walked towards her, clearly easing her discomfort. "Of course, we are open, let me try and help you find exactly what you need."
The woman giggled at Tessai and smiled at him. "Oh, thank you! My name is Kimiko Hoshi." Kisuke saw Tessai almost trip as he took a step but quickly caught himself before she noticed.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kimiko Hoshi." Tessi whispered but cast Kisuke a look when she looked away.
"How…." Kisuke continued to think to himself. He leaned against the wall, letting it hold him up as Tessai continued to help the woman.
FLASHBACK
Kimiko was sitting in a tree in the forest of the north Rukon district, her right leg bent so her knee was pulled to her chest, and her left leg dangled from the branch. She was singing a song as she looked out into the trees
"I trust your heart, I trust in you, when times are hard, I reach for you, I'm out of breath, I'm frozen still
No light ahead." Kimiko paused her singing and closed her eyes.
"You're not very good at hiding from me Kisuke." She said as she smiled down to the man leaning against the trunk of the tree, she was in.
"who says I was hiding, I just wanted to enjoy your singing as always. I wouldn't dream of hiding from you." Kisuke looked up to her before flash stepping to stand on the branch just to the side of hers, so his face was even with her.
"I have something for you…..." He commented as he brought his face to nuzzle her neck.
"Oh? What would it be?" Kimiko asked tilting her head away to give him more access to her neck. She heard something jingle so she turned her head and saw something silver dangle in the air from Kisukes hand. It was a long silver chain with a crescent moon pendant hanging from it. She saw that from the top tip of the moon also hung a gem that looked like it was a mix between purple and dark blue swirling inside of it.
Kimiko gasped at it before gingerly reaching for it and gently holding it in her palm.
Kisukes smiled at her reaction to it, he had been working on that necklace for the past month trying to get it just right and filling it with spiritual energy. He watched as she ran her finger over every detail her smile getting bigger and brighter.
Kimiko turned to Kisuke, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. This made Kisuke confused.
"What's wrong? Do you not like it?" He asked slowly, watching her shake her head.
"No… I love it Kisuke. It is beautiful, no one has ever given me something so beautiful before…." She said raising her right hand to his face, while holding the necklace out to him with her left. "Will you?"
Kisuke smiled at her while taking the necklace from her hand and reaching around her to place the necklace around her neck, grazing his fingers against her skin as he did so.
"I'll never take it off, even in death." She said looking at him over her shoulder smiling brightly before turning to kiss him fully on his lips.
END FLASHBACK
Kisuke's right hand moved to cover his heart on his chest, and he grasped the clothing that he had on. Still watching Tessai interact with this Kimiko. They were walking up to the register, and he used all his strength to collect himself making his limbs move. He kneeled behind the register, keeping his hat low to cover his eyes.
"Find everything you needed miss?" Kisuke asked her as she laid her purchases down with the help of Tessai.
"Oh, I think so, it was just so hard to choose." She replied as she smiled at Kisuke making his breath catch in his throat, he looked down at the necklace again, deciding to take a risk.
"That's a lovely necklace. Mind if I ask where you got it?" Kisuke asked nonchalantly while ringing up her purchases.
"Oh this… to be honest with you I'm not sure. I just always remember having it. I never take it off." She replied as she held the pendant in her hand. At her statement Kisuke stopped ringing up her items.
'I'll never take it off, even in death.' Rang through his mind, causing his to full look up at her catching her eyes. Her hazel eyes met his grey ones and Kisuke watched as she crunched her brow and her breath quickened.
"Have we met?" She asked Kisuke softly.
"Not in this life" was his only reply as he went back to ringing up her candy. Concluding that this was her, this was his Kimiko
