LONG, LONG AGO, an ancient spirit by the name of PAN roamed an eternal forest, which was void of any humans. while small, PAN was powerful, and commanded the wilds around him. he was often depicted as a small feral cat with a chestnut coat, and a pair of thick antlers atop his head. the deer-cat, many legends call him, and the paintings reflect that.
there came a time when PAN had two daughters to help him command his wildlands.
one daughter was depicted as a dark brown cat with antlers and feathers, eyes as blue as that of a blue jay's wings. her name, in the old paintings, is translated to FAUNA — keeper of the wild animals. every animal that lives in the forest was created by fauna.
the second daughter was shown to be lighter brown in color, with a crown of thorns upon her head, and flowers growing from her fur. the cave paintings have dubbed her name as FLORA — protector of the plants and vegetation. each plant, tree, fruit, or vegetable was grown and created by her, flourishing the lush woodlands with color and greenery.
but there came a time when FAUNA and FLORA were fighting, though the reason for the fight is lost to time, and went their separate ways. divided by a river that begins as a towering waterfall raining down from the mountains.
FAUNA chose for herself a mortal body and gathered cats along her side of the river, leading them into what would become known as FAUNACLAN after her death. the cats of this clan love and worship her as their dominant celestial, and believe that after a cat dies, they become one of her subordinate celestials.
FLORA also became mortal for a time, gathering a group of cats that would choose the name of FLORACLAN upon her death. the cats of this clan have chosen FLORA as their dominant celestial, and cats who die loyal to FLORACLAN join her in the path of celestials to serve her there.
both clans look to the supreme celestial, PAN, but have each chosen one of his daughters to serve, while loathing the other.
the war their founders started has gone on for a very long time, with no signs of stopping. FLORACLAN and FAUNACLAN hate one another, and will do everything they can to each win an unwinnable war.

faunaclan, blessed by the
spirit of wild animals, is home to
the worshipers of FAUNA, the first
daughter of PAN.
FAUNA is depicted as a dark
brown feline with a short
bushy tail, a crown of antlers
atop her head, and eyes the
color of a blue jay's feathers.
faunaclan territory spans
the north side of the grand
forest, ending at the river
which separates them from
floraclan. their camp lies
in a shaded grotto deep within
the forest, sheltered by giant oak trees.
cats of this clan are always named
after animals, insects, or fish.
generally, faunaclan cats are
instinctive and strong, using
their training to overpower their
enemies in battle.
when a loyal faunaclan cat
dies, their grave is surrounded
by animal feed that lures
other creatures to the burial
spot. it is said that if other
animals appear to mingle
around the grave, that the
cat will be welcomed as
one of FAUNA'S subordinate
celestials, guided by these
animals to the path of celestials.
however, of a disloyal cat is
killed, they are to be buried
and surrounded by the bones, scales,
and feathers of animals, cast into
shadow. the scent of death
wards off any animals who may
come in, and that cat will not
manage to sneak their way
into the path of celestials.

circling her head, and eyes the
color as green as ivy leaves.
floraclan territory spans
the south side of the grand
forest, ending at the river

cats of this clan are always named

floraclan cats are accomplished
gardeners, just as faunaclan cats
harbor painting skills.
generally, floraclan cats are
intelligent and cold, harboring a cold
ruthlessness when in combat.
when a loyal floraclan cat
dies, their grave is surrounded
by white flowers. it is said that these
flowers protect a cat
on their journey to the path
of celestials, that the
cat will be welcomed as
one of FLORA'S subordinate
celestials, dappled with white petals.
however, of a disloyal cat is
killed, they are to be buried
and surrounded by the
flowers of shadow
and gloom, cast into
darkness. the sight of death petals
along the cat's pelt will keep them
away from the light, and that
cat will not manage to enter
into the path of celestials.
