[GAME LOADED. WELCOME BACK!]
Taeko got up to hear humming coming from the kitchen and smelling food being prepped. He reached for his phone to see a few texts, one from Sebastian notably mentioning he saw what Taeko did for Demetrius and citing he was able to hold it over Demetrius to at least broker a level of peace. Maru's text made her happy that Taeko and her dad got along better, unaware of the irony of the situation. Then there was one from Harvey reminding him to set up an appointment for a checkup in the near future.
Stretching, he made his way to the kitchen to see breakfast on the table, a full spread for him. [Bread] sliced with [Wild Honey], a [Complete Breakfast], and a [Autumn's Bounty]. He heartily ate in before realizing it was two sets of humming.
"Good morning." Candace said. "I wanted to say thank you for getting me home last night so I wanted to help Elly May make breakfast before she and I go out for the day."
"Well, thank you Candy." Taeko said.
"I am sure to gather everything…so I'll go shower." Elly May said before leaving.
Candace looked over, noticing something.
"Elly May forgot to take care of your morning wood." Candace said before giggling. "But let me help you."
Taeko shifted off his pajama pants as she got to pulling his shaft out of his straining briefs, throbbing. She gave it a light stroke.
"You've pent up. I almost want to put it inside…"
Candace was cut off by her phone buzzing to which she looked at it.
"Shoot, our spa appointment…we're almost going to be late." Candace said looking guilty with eyes up at Taeko. "I'll make it up to you, I promise."
"It's ok, Candy. Elly May could use the time off." Taeko said. "Besides, I can get someone to deal with this."
Candace left as Taeko shrugged up his pants taking up the list of what was harvested today. Taeko went out to the mailbox to get the mail. He found he had letters from Marnie and Lewis giving him new recipes.
[You've learned to cook: [Spaghetti], [Eggplant Parmesan], [Pale Broth], [Rhubarb Pie]]
There was also money from the Agricultural Fund for him, triple the usual amount. Taeko smirked at that even if it was still pocket change. Every gold coin counts. Then there was a letter from Robin.
[Letter from Robin]
Taeko, I want to personally thank you for what you've done. By the time you've read this, I'm on my way to look over the business. Your assistant called me to let me know that she got me some employees for the business. With this in mind, I realized the best way to repay your kindness is to give you the family discount. And don't worry about needing to get me wood for any future farm buildings you need me to build. Of course, I'll take any wood and stone you want to sell to me. And now that I have a bit of a construction team…getting new buildings up will be easier. If you did it to make sure I was okay with you being intimate with Maru (yes, I'm quite aware you two have done it at least once…a mother knows), you pretty much above and beyond. I may as well call you my future son-in-law.
Sincerely, Robin
[Your friendship with Robin is maxed out! 40% off purchases at her Carpenter's Shop! New heart scene available, visit her when she's home.]
She had also included a recipe for [Pumpkin Soup] and he found a letter from Demetris. It was fairly short thanks for saving his skin and apologizing for being a bit sour having to fork over the gold. Along with giving him a [Nautilus Shell], he gave Taeko a recipe for [Fried Mushroom].
[Your friendship with Demetrius is up by two hearts.]
"Demetrius is probably still sour that I one-upped him." Taeko mumbled. "Ah well, a new recipe and an item for the bundles make up for it. Wait…there's a P.S."
P.S. I know it won't make us even given the value of a logging company, but I upgraded your farm cave with better equipment to produce more mushrooms and getting the fruit bats riled up to where they'll drop more fruit.
[Mushrooms Produced from the Farm Cave Will Automatically be of Iridium Quality and rate of Fruit appearing in the cave will double.]
He remembered the list, and it mentioned the cave. He wasn't complaining.
"Morning, Taeko!" Penny said coming up. "I wanted to ask if you wanted to go beachcombing with me while everyone's still asleep. I…"
She squeaked, blushing at the sight of Taeko's bulge with a bit of his member poking out.
"Um, Taeko…your member is poking out there." Penny said as her cheeks reddened.
The smell was pleasant to her senses as she bit her lip.
"Sorry, I-"
She stopped him.
"It's ok…" Penny said before pulling his briefs up for him. "You just woke up, silly."
Taeko noticed she was taking her time to do it, groping him a bit as she did that. Not that he minded given her soft touch. Taeko sheepishly chuckled before telling her that she'd join her dealing with the rest of mail and meet her at the beach. She left as he went inside with the rest of the mail.
"I should be more careful…" Taeko remarked before looking at the rest of the mail.
There was a letter from Sandy who sent some leftover [Red Cabbage] and a reminder to send over his 'child support'. As he was reading the next one, there was a knock on the door to which he answered to see Leah.
"Oh my, happy to see me, Taeko?" Leah teased as he rolled his eyes. "I figured with your assistant, you wouldn't be having morning wood."
"Day off with her cousin." Taeko said as she came in. "What can I do for you?"
"Wanted to get some groceries from you." Leah said seeing Taeko's bulge. "Might want to get some pants on unless you want some help there."
"Don't worry about it. You're my best friend and I need a cold shower." Taeko said as she chuckled. "What do you need?"
"Some jars of [Honey], [Maple Syrup], [Mayo], and some [Jellies], any kind would do." Leah said as Taeko went to the fridge.
He got some out to put in a leftover box.
"You can have them in the house." Taeko said as Leah took up the box. "Actually, if you can get me some [Eel]...we could call it even."
"I know a guy." Leah said. "I'll send it over tonight."
Leah left as Taeko went to shower and get dressed, opting to wear a blue and white striped shirt under an open blue track jacket, blue track pants, and blue high tops with his fingerless gloves. He went back to sorting his mail. Linus sent him some fish…namely some [Walleye] and [Carp]. Another letter was from Pam…who sent over two six-packs of [Beer].
"Heh. Nice." Taeko said before taking up to drink before putting everything away. "May as well as go over to the center."
The last letter was from Kyu.
[Letter from Kyu]
Taeko, among the minor updates, was a bit of a fix to the matter of the special clothing items that boost your stats. I'm not going to lie, the RNG for it is a mess. So I've fixed this with some hotfixes. Consider this is a bit of changelog: Clothing from the FF Collection that boosts stats and has a special sub perk (like the Ice Armor set) but special clothing items that boost a stat and give a special sub-perk are going to quadruple in price. As for the GTA collection, I've introduced a special shop for you to obtain them. The location will be added to your map automatically. Have fun, Kyu. P.S. I did you a solid by adding a hidden warp tile in your basement that only you can access. It'll take you between there and your MB office, so you can handle the cells at your leisure.
The letter turned to dust as Taeko crafted 15 bits of [Wild Bait] before putting it into his [Inventory] deciding he'd fish that morning. He also took the [Duck Feathers] having an idea to put them in the selling bin later. However, he got a [Coffee] out of the [Coffee Maker], downed it and ran out for the Community Center first. Logan went after him as Tom decided to bask in the sun. Their water bowls were already filled and Tom did not feel like moving today.
Inside the center, Taeko delivered stuff for the bundles before looking upon his progress.

With progress made, Taeko left with Logan hurrying to get down to the beach passing by Linus who was doing some exercise.
"Morning, Linus." Taeko said, running past him.
He arrived at the beach taking a deep breath.
"Morning Taeko, off to fishing, I see." Elliot said, whipping his long hair aside.
"That I am. How've you been? Progress made on the books?" Taeko remarked.
"Plenty, my warrior friend. I find that even if people say fanfiction is a 'low brow' affair, you can find plenty of inspiration." Elliot said as Taeko snickered. "But I actually wanted to see you to ask if I could make an order."
"Name it, my guy." Taeko said.
"It's a bit traditional, but I do like to make poetry on paper before typing it. While I can't exactly make a quill, I do like to get [Duck Feathers] attached to my pens to stimulate the feeling." Elliot explained.
"I got ducks. And feathers…how much do you need?" Taeko asked. "I got four. High quality stuff. I was going to sell them, but you have them, no charge."
"Taeko, I could-"
"Don't worry about it, I'm trying to aid my community. Besides, I can make the value of that up by doing something else." Taeko said, giving him the feathers.
[You gave Elliot a loved gift! +80 Friendship Points]
"Taeko, I'm touched by your kindness." Elliot said.
Taeko was glad, but there was the reason that he realized that his friendship with Elliot was rather low. He decided to make an effort to get his friendship with everyone in town to at least a five heart minimum.
"Thank nothing for it." Taeko said only for Elliot to stop him.
"I can't just let you do this for me without returning the favor." Elliot said going inside his home and coming back with a box. "Here. I heard you were collecting artifacts for Gunther. I think you'd have the most use of these. I've been collecting things that wash up on the shore...some of them are elven."
"Thanks, man. I have to go meet up with Penny, could you drop it off at my place?" Taeko said as Elliot nodded before walking off.
He caught up to Penny to see was wearing a tank top, shorts, and sandals while carrying a pool net and an [Iridium Rod]. She set her fishing rod down to which the pair went beachcombing together, finding several [Sea Urchins], [Clams], and [Coral] while having idle chat.
"Look, out there. Boxes floating out in the water." Taeko said before using [Observe] on them. "Looks to be [Supply Crates]."
Taeko got a little note from the System saying that he could find them in some areas of water around the valley and elsewhere if he could find these spots.
"Let me swim out to get them." Penny said, kicking off her sandals.
She slipped off her shorts and tank top having a green two piece tankini before diving into the water. Swimming out to get the two crates, she pushed them to shore. Both were blue…and clearly from Joja. He opened the first crate to find 3 [Mega Bombs], an [Artifact Trove], four bags of [Wheat Flour], a frozen [Chub], four bottles of [Oil], and four bags of [Sugar]. Penny opened the other to find the same items except the trove instead finding five [Mixed Seeds].
"And they're good…but I'll take the bombs, that fish, and the seeds." Taeko said taking them. "You can have the free groceries."
"I can buy my own…but I wonder if these fall off a Joja exec's boat." Penny said as Taeko got his fishing rod.
"Maybe, I'm going to get my fishing on." Taeko remarked.
He sat on the docks, simply enjoying his time fishing. Using the [Wild Bait], he was able to haul in double the fish as he pulled in several [Sardines] and [Anchovies]. Penny had redressed and joined him.
"I could get used to fishing to make some money for myself during the Summer…it'll be the first Summer I can actually enjoy myself." Penny said chipperly. "Maybe I'll go sailing around a bit, just to get away for a bit."
"I'm glad you're finding some peace in life." Taeko remarked.
"I heard what you did for m—Pam…well more like for the town. It's funny, if you did that before I moved out, I might have cared. But I don't, now." Penny said as Taeko raised an eyebrow. "Pam had ample chances to clean up her life. She chose the bottle over me."
She reeled in another fish.
"And as far as I'm concerned, I've washed my hands of her. Besides, that house was going to be messy unless I was the one to clean it. You know, I've been looking into who my father is…I went to the wizard to help me." Penny said as Taeko wanted to know more. "But with what I've discovered…I'll have to go to the Belmonts. Can you go with me?"
Taeko nodded and went with her before calling Logan to follow. They went to Pierre's to which Abigail let them in as the family was having breakfast.
"Taeko, Penny, what's with the visit?" Pierre said.
The nervousness came back for Penny. Penny was not even sure how to say it, but she took a deep breath.
"We're related. I was doing some digging on who my father was and where I come from. Mr. Rasmodius told me…I had Belmont blood…and the blood of a vampire." Penny said as Pierre spat out his coffee…which got on Caroline.
"But that's impossible." Caroline said, wiping off the coffee. "Unless…could you be descended from the Renards?"
"No, most of that bloodline have platinum blonde hair as a dominant trait, plus they're mostly living in Japan." Pierre remarked.
"So Maria Renard and Alucard did hook up?" Taeko asked. "I guess the videos weren't all…talk."
"Those games are a bit embellished. Considering the whole Soma Cruz stuff was someone's idea for a futuristic Castlevania. We couldn't give all the details." Pierre joked. "But I think I know what Belmont Penny may have descended from. Trevor Belmont had an older sister…Sonia Belmont."
"I thought Old Man Trevor was an only child." Abigail said.
"About that. You see…Sonia's story was mostly forgotten out of the family history. Hell, she got a video game on the Game Boy not because the clan told her story, but by eerie coincidence, although I have a suspicion that a descendant of hers might have told the story only just by changing names." Pierre explained. "Most of that game's plot is made up…except for two details. She had used the Vampire Killer whip to fight a vampire. She did exist and the Dark Lord she fought is what would later become the Bartley clan. Despite her success, she left the family, leaving the whip behind in the family's hands and just vanished. She didn't even return home herself, only the Vampire Killer did. No one knows exactly what became of her…some say she took fatal wounds…others say she had not actually succeeded in killing the vampire…returning the whip out of shame to go into exile. But I think what really happened was Sonia had a son with a dhampir who likely came from the Bartley clan. Likely ran off together…given how things were back then. A Belmont having a child with a dhampir? Yeah that would have been a shitshow. Maria only got away with it because Alucard worked with the Belmonts for generations."
Taeko did research on his phone.
"There was a canceled Castlevania game. Castlevania Resurrection…it would have a descendant of Sonia's as a protagonist. Here's an interesting note…he was supposedly one of the few 'Belmont' to refuse his destiny by running away from home at an early age." Taeko remarked. "I guess there's nuggets of truth in fiction."
"Likely Sonia and her lover formed their own bloodline. But Penny, by all means…this makes you both a Belmont in blood and a descendant of Dracula."
"The Bartley clan…how exactly are they descended from Dracula? Only played a few games." Taeko said sheepishly. "Is it on his side or from his first or second wife?"
"Not too sure. Regardless, this links the families that have been fighting for generations. Hold on." Pierre said before getting the Vampire Killer whip. "Despite its appearance, its leather form is merely to hide its power. Abigail could never make it work for her…and I've realized swords are her forte. As for me, I prefer my fist and some blunt weapons. But I see now…the whip was alerting me to you. Take it up and see if you can use its power."
Penny was nervous, but she swallowed her fears and took it up. The whip glowed purple before transforming before their eyes to its morning star form. The band that held Penny's bun in place snapped letting her hair flow free as a blonde streak formed in her hair.
"No doubt about it. You are a Belmont." Pierre said.
Hearing that, hearing she belonged to a family…was something Penny wanted to hear for a long time.
"This is yours, I…"
"No, Penny. It's yours. My job is to pass it down to the next generation and train them. That's what I'll do." Pierre said as Penny had tears in her eyes. "I wanted to do that with my daughter, but I can accept my…very distant niece."
"Damn, that makes us cousins and we can slay monsters together." Abigail said excitedly.
"Slay monsters? I…" Penny said, looking at the whip. "Can give it a shot."
"What about Pam? Aren't you going to tell her?" Caroline asked.
"Pfft…no. She stopped being my issue when I left home. I would rather this stay between us." Penny affirmed. "Seeing this bombshell, I think I'll shed my last name…and take Belmont as my name today."
Caroline nodded in understanding.
"That sounds like family business…and my cue to leave." Taeko said.
"At this rate, you're going to be my son-in-law considering your relationships." Caroline said as Abigail and Penny blushed. "When am I even going to have grandkids?"
Caroline was joking at that part.
"Caroline, please. Let them grow as people before that." Pierre said as Taeko got up.
"Thank you for shedding light on this. I'll be sure to keep your secrets." Taeko said, shaking Pierre's hand.
"You're all right, Taeko." Pierre said as Taeko took his leave with Logan.
As Taeko left he got a few text boxes.
[Your actions earn you a Friendship Heart with all of the Belmont family (Penny included)]
Taeko returned home with Logan but not before dropping off two more items for bundles at the community center. He saw the box that Elliot left with a note.
'Taeko, here's some artifacts I have collected during my time near the sea. You'll put them to good use - Elliot.'
Taeko opened up the box to some artifacts: the [Dried Starfish], [Anchor], [Ornamental Fan], ,[Elven Jewelry], [Nautilus Fossil], and a [Trilobite]. However, there was an extra item...a small case that was locked shut. Elliot included a note that he tried everything to get it open with no luck. He looked at the lock and sensed energy from it.
"Conventional means won't work because the lock's made of energy, but if I pump my own ki to overload it." Taeko said putting his hand on it funneling energy into it.
The lock shattered given the energy shielding it was pretty faint. He opened the case to find another [Elven Jewelry], a worn scroll, and a few other items.
"Some of it is dwarfi-DAMN IT! The dwarf, I completely forgot about him." Taeko said before going inside to get some jewels.
He passed by the museum to donate the items that weren't in the case, netting him a [Skeleton Statue] to which he placed inside his home before running off to the mines. He checked his [Friends] list, surprised to see he had three hearts with him and there was a note from Kyu apologizing for making Dwarf's friendship stat, a hidden one before it faded.
He arrived at the Mines to find the Dwarf and Myth talking.
"Young grasshopper, you have returned." Dwarf said.
"I feel like a crap person for not asking for your true name. After all, we're all in this community together…and I want to make more efforts to help out." Taeko said.
"My true name? It's Dondirn." Dondrin said.
"Glad to hear it." Taeko said. "I wanted to make up for being distant. So I brought some jewels."
He put down a bag stuffed with several [Aquamarines], [Rubies], and [Emeralds]. Dondirn happily took them up admiring the gleam. Taeko actually earned a whole friendship heart with him.
"Mind if I chat with Dondrin alone? I have some business to handle." Taeko said as Myth nodded.
"Do you have any fish? Linus is making seafood and I need to bring to-"
Taeko handed over half the fish he caught.
"Thank you." Myth said before leaving. "I'll be sure to repay you."
"I need your help. I found this case…it had stuff. Some of it is Dwarfish…and I'd rather have a second hand helping." Taeko remarked.
Dondrin took a look at some of it.
"This silver ring and some of these are Dwarfish…some stolen from my people by the elves. The elves…I can tell you stories. For one, that image in movies and TV…about them being noble, brave, and such. Not at all fully true. What is true is some of them could be some of the haughtiest pieces of shit out there. The claim of low sex drive is also bullshit too. Especially over the years."
"So like how Baalbuddy depicts them?" Takeo asked before getting his phone out to show him some images.
"Oh..oh..yeah, pretty much that. Pure elves are in a slow decline as elven men are hooking up with humans, goblins, dwarves, and so on. And the elven women who rise above the bullshit end up doing the same. That's why there are plenty of half-elves around…the ones of human blood able to blend in with ease. And just to be clear, when I say pure elves, that also includes dark elves and any regional variants. If you don't have any other blood in them, pure elves. But let me give you this." Dondrin said, handing Taeko a scroll. "Open it."
He opened it because Taeko glowed before it faded alongside the matter. He found one of his perks had changed.
[Modified Perk: Fable Folk Dialogue - You can understand the writings and speech of fantasy races. (Races: Dwarfish, Elven)]
"Should help instantly teach you their language." Dondrin said as Taeko looked at the map.
"Looks like it's a map to a village not too far away from the Republic." Taeko said as Dondrin looked at the other objects.
"Well damn, I shouldn't be surprised." Dondrin said, closing a journal. "This belongs to a pirate, a notorious elf pirate. Vanalee the Wanderer of the Drifter Pirates. She was a privateer from the Elf Kingdom of Puritas…before the kingdom fell."
"Before you mention anything more about the journal? Mind explaining Puritas?" Taeko asked, interrupting. "I've heard it in the history books, but it's all vague."
"Of course, it's vague. The Elf Kingdom was an unstable matriarchy that slowly fell apart over centuries as the world advanced and they remained mostly stagnant. Over time, the kingdom would dwindle from its massive population because of people dating non-elves which wasn't tolerated, people breaking away from the elf religion, elves being fed up with the royal family, and so on. The kingdom would fall apart, slowly regain some numbers, something happened, and it'd fall apart again. Let me tell you something, that the royal family is the biggest pack of scumbags with few white sheep that left the kingdom. They used the Wanderer pirates to raid and bully other races. The humans don't know this, but that royal family has involvement in some of the worst things in human history all for profit and greed. Drove my people and the Shadow people to fight as they considered it 'pest control'...for a thousand years…they prospered from my people's suffering. Until they were exposed by some journalist…at the tail end of last year. You better believe everyone came for Puritas, and it would fall for the final time. The royal family mostly extinguished and from the looks of this journal…they were working with the pirates to make a comeback and force some elves to join them. Hence the merchant they had hostage…but it seemed a storm and a giant squid got to them all." Dondrin said before tossing Taeko a map from the journal. "Looks like they got a few locations marked. I'd check them. But I want to thank you. Seems that wretched old tyrant is gone as were her loyalists. That brings me peace."
[Giving Dondrin some closure nets you two more friendship hearts!]
Taeko took that up to see several spots around Ferngill marked with Xs before the System marked them and the elf village on his map.
"Looks like that merchant had a family." Taeko said, pocketing the gold wedding band. "Well, it looks like I have something to do. Keep the dwarven stuff."
Dondrin revealed a cell phone as they exchanged numbers.
"Thank you, Taeko." Dondrin said. "Come back soon. And be weary of those knife ears."
Taeko returned home now with a mission in mind…he needed a boat. He also needed a barge and so he called Marcie as he got in his [Buffalo S]. He had already unloaded the morning haul before calling her and made sure the [Charcoal Kiln] was set up outside on the porch.
"A place to store boats. Ok, let me ch-Ok, it looks like you have a dock at the marina. Recent update made it free and it's already yours. But you don't get the free boats that come with it until the next update."
"Ok, is there a place I can steal or jack one?" Taeko asked.
"There's a [Dinghy] spawn in Angel Pine, south part of the beach." Marcie said before hanging up.
While he was tempted to go out and deal with it, he realized he had other things to deal with. He put the case away in the garage before walking out before bumping into his [Lightning Rod].
"I completely forgot about this." Taeko said checking to see 20 [Battery Packs] tumbling out. "Shit. Well, I could give some of them to Willy."
He realized Willy still needed his boat fixed. Having recalled the changelog, Taeko was supposed to be able to transport him if he could fix the boat. He called Willy up.
"Hello…"
"Willy? You used to transport people to Ginger Island, right?" Taeko asked.
"I did, but the old boat is out of service." Willy said. "Why?"
"What do you need for it to be fixed? Or hell, I'll see if I can get you a new one?" Taeko affirmed.
"Knowing you, I'm good at the new one. Now fixing my boat, I need about 200 [Hardwood], five [Battery Packs], and five [Iridium Bars]." Willy remarked.
"Can you swing by my place? I have two of those things…I don't have enough wood…but I got everything else." Taeko remarked.
"I'm not too far. I was coming by…" Willy said before hanging up.
He found Willy by the pond.
"I was going to ask if I can give your pond a whirl to fish for an hour." Willy remarked before Taeko handed him the needed items. "And that's much appreciated."
"Sure. Just watch my pets. I'm heading out." Taeko said before leaving.
He went to Clint's begrudgingly as he needed him to crack the [Artifact Trove]. Had it not been for the [Treasure Chest] inside, he would have called it a waste. Taeko dumped that in the selling bin and sent out his pets to forage. Taeko looked at the time and decided it was time to go for lunch.
[GAME PAUSED? WOULD YOU LIKE TO QUICK SAVE?]
[Yes *] [No]
….
[GAME QUICKSAVED! Hurry back.]
(A/N: What a lengthy one, sadly, I had a massive idea and I wanted to see it through. I actually had full intention to make Penny a descendant of Maria Renard and Alucard, but I realized there was a Belmont who had a dhampir lover…that being Sonia Belmont. While her story is retconned, I took advantage of that and the lore of the games to weave an explanation. Given Trevor's age, she couldn't be Trevor's mother unless she already had a kid before the events of the game. So Penny's a Belmont! Moving on, the elves…yeah, they're coming soon. Next part is a bit shorter, with moments with Ingrid and Rosemary.)
