2: Mario fell through what seemed to be an eternal void. He kept yelling, "Mamma Mia!" so loud that it could be heard at a packed concert. Through the void, he saw visions, or perhaps events occurring elsewhere, or at another time. "What is this?!" he yelled, "Whoa!" At last, Mario finally fell from a warp pipe made from the sky. He yelled again, "Mamma Mia!" even louder than before.
He smashed through the leaves of a tree which dampened his fall as he landed behind the line of a great and colorful prairie. "Ugh," he grunted, "What the?" He looked around and found himself in a colorful environment that he had never seen. "What is this place?" he asked. He found a small mushroom on the ground and reached for it. Then out of nowhere, a creature came out and yelled, "Do not touch that mushroom or you'll die!" "AH!" Mario screamed. "Oops, sorry. That's a perfectly normal mushroom," the creature said as he picked it up and threw it in its bag. "Ah! It's a little alien thing," Mario said. "I'm Bandana Waddle-Dee," she said as she walked away. "Uh, Mario," Mario introduced himself.
He immediately got up and began following the Waddle-Dee. "So, what is this place?" Mario asked. "Well stranger, welcome to Dreamland!" she said. "Dreamland? So this isn't a dream?" Mario asked. Bandana Waddle-Dee immediately smacked Mario in the shoulder. "OW!" Mario yelped, "What was that for?!" "Did that hurt?" she asked. "YES!" Mario yelled. "Then definitely not a dream," she said. "Ugh, deja vu," Mario said as he continued to follow the
Waddle-Dee.
"So, do you know where the Mushroom Kingdom is?" Mario asked. "What's a Mushroom Kingdom?" Bandana Waddle-Dee asked. "Don't you know? Giant mushrooms. A big castle. Toads," Mario said. "Now that sounds like a dream," Bandana Waddle-Dee said. "Well it isn't. I was there with my friends fighting this giant guy when I fell out of the sky and ended up here," Mario said. Bandana Dee stopped and gasped very loudly. "Oh, my, gosh!" she exclaimed. "What? You know what happened?!" Mario asked. "Nope. Haven't got a clue," she said. "Ugh!" Mario exclaimed. "But, I do know who might know what happened," she said.
They climbed over the hill to see the horizon. Within it was a giant castle on the edge of a cliff. "Come on Mario! Our big adventure begins now!" Bandana Dee yelled as she ran ahead. "Don't worry guys. I'll be home soon," Mario said as he followed the Waddle-Dee.
Inside Castle Dedede, the plump King Dedede sat on his throne as the Waddle-Dee minions set up his next meal. "WADDLE-DEES! HURRY UP!" he yelled. "Yes your majesty!" the Waddle-Dees said. The Waddle-Dees scattered some tripping by the slugs made on the carpets. Once the Waddle-Dees prepared the King's food, he tasted his beak and was ready to devour the food. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Lunchtime!" King Dedede said. He grabbed a piece of steak on his fork and was about to eat it. He took a bite of nothing as the steak flew off from the fork. "What?!" he complained.
Across the table, the steak flew inside the mouth of a pink creature. Then the rest of the food followed, leaving none for his majesty. "KIRBY!" King Dedede screamed in fury. "Poyo!" Kirby said with joy. "I'LL GET YOU KIRBY!" King Dedede screamed. King Dedede pulled out his wooden mallet and started chasing Kirby. Kirby jumped from the spot where Dedede smacked the hammer and landed on top of the plump penguin. Dedede growled and swung the hammer. Kirby jumped and the hammer hit Dedede in the face. Dedede growled, "GET OVER HERE KIRBY!" he screamed. Kirby ran through the castle as the angry Dedede followed.
Mario and Bandana Dee arrived at the gates of the castle. "Well, at least there's less pipes here," Mario said. "Yup. Our plumbing is the worst," Bandana Dee said. "Bandana, T.M.I." Mario said. They entered the castle where all they saw was the smashed lunch table. "Darn. This again," Bandana Dee said. "Again?" Mario questioned. They heard King Dedede yell from the other side of the castle, "KIRBY!" The wall fell apart as Kirby ran and King Dedede continued following. The ground continually shook with every slam that the King made. "Your majesty!" Bandana Dee yelled. "NOT NOW!" King Dedede screamed. The two of them ran down the hall. "Welp, that's Tuesday for you," Bandana Dee said. "This happens all the time?" Mario asked. "Yup. Sometimes twice a day," she said.
Beneath the floors of Castle Dedede laid the underground lair of the loyal knight to the throne and ally in battle, Meta Knight. He was deep into his books while he looked to the stars above. "Stars do not fade overnight. Not like that. There must be an answer to this mystery somewhere," he told himself. He felt the ceiling rumble as dust fell. He groaned and said, "Tuesdays. Let us see what his majesty and Kirby have been up to," he said.
"I-I'll get you," King Dedede panted, "I'll… Oh. Ugh." King Dedede fainted from over-exhaustion. "Poyo," Kirby said with a smile. "Tuesdays. Am I right?" Bandana Dee said. "I have no clue what just happened," Mario said. Meta Knight ascended from the stairs and said, "Tuesdays. But of course, it happens every time I am researching." "Mario, meet the man who'll help you with your problems! Meta Knight," Bandana Dee said. "Hello. I'm Mario," Mario said. "Greetings. I am Meta Knight. You have some problems?" he asked. "A Problem. Not problems," Mario said as he looked at Bandana Dee. "Hey, you could lose some weight," she said. "Hey!" Mario complained. "What? Just telling the truth man," Bandana Dee said.
"So, what is this problem you need a solution to?" Meta Knight asked. "Well I need to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom," Mario said. "What is the Mushroom Kingdom? It is not a place I have been to in my journeys," Meta Knight said. "Well, it's a place that's filled with mushrooms. Warp pipes. Toads," Mario said. "Sir, that sounds like a dream," Meta Knight said. "That's what I told him," Bandana Dee said. "It ain't a dream!" Mario yelled. "Alright. Alright. Jeez," she said, and then she whistled which told everyone that Mario was coo coo crazy. "Hey!" Mario complained. "What? I said nothing," Bandana Dee said.
"Okay. Let us focus. You wish to return to this Mushroom Kingdom?" Meta Knight asked. "Yeah. My friends are in trouble. All of a sudden this guy came from nowhere and crumbled us. I was about to punch him when his hand began to glow and I ended up here," Mario said.
Meta Knight mumbled to himself, "Could this be related to the disappearing stars?" No one could understand him, but Kirby found to understand the occurring dilemma. King Dedede finally woke up and asked, "Hey! Who's this guy?"
Immediately, they all heard a noise outside. A loud whistle that could be heard perhaps far across Dreamland. "Does that usually happen?" Mario asked. "Not everyday," Bandana Dee said. An explosion was heard and a loud wind blasted the gates of Castle Dedede open. Everyone held to the ground except Dedede who screamed, "MY CASTLE!" as he was pushed by the wind towards his throne. After the high wind, Meta Knight released his sword from the ground. He stood up and flew to the top of the castle. He looked across the horizon to see the smoke coming from a hill.
The wind still blew his cape and it whistled loudly. From the crater of the explosion rose some dark matter unlike anything that Meta Knight has ever seen. Creatures rose from the dark matter and they were obviously alien. "Hm," he said. Meta Knight dove towards the main floor of the castle. "We have an army approaching us from a distance," Meta Knight said. "What?! Not in my castle! Guards!" King Dedede yelled. A stampede of Waddle-Dees came in and practically surrounded everyone. "Whoa!" Mario yelped. "Okay! This is the day we have been waiting for!" King Dedede yelled as he paced, "Some of you may die, but it is a sacrifice I'm willing to make." "Wow, very encouraging," Mario said sarcastically. "I know, right," Bandana Dee said, not noticing Mario's sarcasm.
The Waddle-Dees marched out to the battlefield. "Kirby, Mario, we will be the last line of defense," Meta Knight said. "Alright. I guess I'll help," Mario said.
At the front of the Waddle-Dee army, Bandana Dee led them. "Halt!" she ordered. They all halted immediately, with some of them tumbling and falling. The dark matter oozed towards them and stopped. "Halt thou foe!" Bandana Dee said. "What?" a Waddle-Dee asked. "Ugh! Wait for my signal, compatriots!" Bandana Dee ordered. "Can you stop using big words?" another Waddle-Dee asked. "Whatever!" Bandana Dee yelled. The dark matter began to form into a small soldier. It turned like rusty gear. "Attack!" Bandana Dee yelled. She immediately pierced the soldier straight through the chest. "Ah ha!" Bandana Dee yelled in triumph.
Bandana Dee cheered as she took care of the soldier, but that victory quickly turned from overconfidence to fear. The spear slid through the body of the soldier and the hole quickly filled in as if nothing happened. More soldiers grew from the dark matter and they quickly outnumbered the Waddle-Dees. "Soldiers! They may take our freedom! But they shalt not take our freedom!" Bandana Dee yelled. "Uh, what?" a Waddle-Dee asked. "Attack!" Bandana Dee ordered. The Waddle-Dees all yelled and charged ahead. The opposing soldiers' eyes began to glow.
"Take this!" a Waddle-Dee yelled. The Waddle-Dee tried to pierce the soldier but it grabbed the spear and using the wood part of it, it smacked the Waddle-Dee like a baseball. "AHH!" the Waddle-Dee screamed as it flew away. The dark matter soldiers immediately charged forward like a stampede of frightened gazelles. The Waddle-Dees tried to keep them back but they either just launched them away or pushed them back. "AH! There's too many of them!" some Waddle-Dees yelled. "Men! We don't give up!" Bandana Dee yelled. Some of the dark matter soldiers immediately returned to their dark matter forms and fused to make one, big soldier. With one kick, it launched most of the Waddle-Dees away. "Okay! Men! We… RETREAT!" Bandana Dee screamed.
The Waddle-Dees all screamed as they were running away with the soldiers closely following them. Many of the Waddle-Dees were launched away from the battlefield across the foreseeable horizon. "Quickly! To the castle!" Bandana Dee yelled. "Would this be considered giving up?" a Waddle-Dee asked. "No! It's strategically falling back!" Bandana Dee yelled. "Hey! Isn't that giving up but more sophisticated?" the Waddle-Dee asked. "NO!" Bandana Dee screamed.
The huge soldier was catching up to them as it launched all of the Waddle-Dees behind Bandana Dee away. "Oh Lord! Oh Lord! Oh Lord!" Bandana Dee yelled. The gates of the castle were being closed as Bandana Dee was the only Waddle-Dee left. "Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!" Bandana Dee yelled. The huge soldier was behind her. Bandana Dee managed to pounce straight into the gates as they came to a close. "AH HA! Try getting through that!" Bandana Dee taunted as she did a victory dance. But the victory was futile as the gates were destroyed with the soldiers running in. "Crickey!" Bandana Dee yelled as she ran straight towards the castle.
She tripped and was about to be overrun by the soldiers but in the second remaining, Meta Knight flew down, picked her up, and flew up, away from the dark matter army. "There are too many! They decimated my men!" Bandana Dee yelled. "Hm," Meta Knight mumbled. They returned to the others as the dark matter soldiers attempted to break the gates of the castle. "Bandana Dee! Where are all my men?!" King Dedede yelled. "They're gone, your majesty! We didn't stand a chance against those things!" Bandana Dee said. "WHAT?!" King Dedede screamed.
The soldiers immediately broke down the castle door and were heading towards them. "We should probably get outta here!" Mario yelled. "Agreed! Let's go!" Meta Knight yelled as he pulled Dedede from his arm. "MY CASTLE!" King Dedede screamed. They ran up the stairs as the soldiers quickly. They stormed into Dedede's bedroom. "Quickly! Barricade the doors!" Meta Knight ordered.
Everyone, except Dedede, grabbed something and used it to block the door. "Be prepared," Meta Knight said. "Here we go," Mario said. Something began to ram the door. It was something powerful. Then there was only silence. Meta Knight had his sword at the ready. Kirby and Mario were standing ready to fight. Even King Dedede had his hammer at the ready with Bandana Dee at his side with her spear. The silence soon became overwhelming until the sound of raging hail was heard. "Duck!" Mario yelled. They all hid in a corner of the room as bullets came through rapidly and ragefully. After they stopped, they took peak as their barricade was completely decimated and the door still stood but now with bullet holes that engraved the letter B.
"Tisk, tisk." They all stood their ground, ready to fight as a woman came in. She wore black as dark as space. She had guns of a golden hue in her hands and above her heels. "Now, now, is that how your mummies taught you how to treat a lady?" she asked. "Is that how your mom taught you to treat royalty!" King Dedede yelled. "Now, quiet your big dirty beak," she said, "Hm?" She spotted Mario and questioned, "You're not supposed to be here? How did you get here?" "What are you talking about?" Mario asked. "Hm, it seems they made a mistake. Silly on them. Well I'll be fixing that," she said. "FOR MY CASTLE!" King Dedede screamed. "Your majesty! Wait!" Meta Knight yelled. Too late. King Dedede charged ahead and tried to smack the woman but from nowhere an arm of dark magic came out and stopped Dedede's hammer. "Darling, you're going to have to try better than that," she said. The woman pushed Dedede back, on top of Bandana Dee. "AH!" Bandana Dee yelped.
"Tisk, tisk. You boys will never learn," she said. She spun her guns in her hand then immediately began shooting. Meta Knight came up to the front and hit every bullet with every swing from his sword. "Hm," he said. "Tisk. Boys will never learn I suppose," she said. "Now!" Mario yelled. "Huh!" the woman exclaimed. Mario and Kirby covered the woman in Dedede's king-size bedsheet and tied her up like a sack of potatoes. Meta Knight spread his wings and charged in. "Get this off!" the woman yelled as she tossed the sheet away and tossed Mario and Kirby to the ceiling. Meta Knight managed to tackle her back outside the outline of the door.
"Ugh!" she yelled, "I was hoping it wouldn't come to this!" The woman's hair began ascending through the air and it began to glow a purple hue. Meta Knight kept his ground. A hand made of hair came through and turned into a fist. Meta Knight clashed as he was pushed back forcibly by the fist. Mario regained his consciousness. "Oh mamma mia, what have I gotten myself into?" he asked. "AH!" screamed King Dedede as he charged at the woman. More hands came through and smacked Dedede. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" Bandana Dee yelled as she dodged all of the hands and legs coming after her. "Hey! Back off!" Mario yelled. Out of nowhere Mario threw fire from his hands. The woman managed to shield herself using one of her hair arms. "Whoa," Mario said. "Whoa! I didn't know you could do that," Bandana Dee said. "Neither did I," Mario said.
"Humph!" the woman yelled as she shot bullets towards Mario. "Hm!" Kirby said. Kirby jumped in front of Mario and opened his mouth as he sucked in the bullets. Kirby then spat them back out towards the enemy woman, who again shielded herself using her powers. "That's it! Mario! Shoot your fire at Kirby!" Meta Knight ordered. "What?! Why would I do that?" Mario questioned. "Just do it!" Meta Knight, Dedede and Bandana Dee yelled. "Oh alright. Here goes nothing Pinky," Mario said. Kirby had his serious face and nodded.
Mario threw fire at Kirby and Kirby sucked it up and ate it. He jumped into the air and was infused by flames. "There he goes. He transforms into Fire Kirb-" Meta Knight said. The fire immediately fused on top of Kirby's head into Mario's cap. "Whoa, how did he do that?" Mario asked. "I do not know," Meta Knight said, confused. "Mamma mia!" Kirby said with his high pitched voice. "I suppose he is now Mario Kirby," Meta Knight said. "Well Pinky. Let's-a go!" Mario yelled. "Let's-a go!" Kirby said.
Mario's and Kirby' hands flamed up and they ran ahead. They jumped through the demon arms and threw their fire. They created a hole through one and jumped through. "Urgh!" Meta Knight yelled as he pushed the demon hand back and sliced it up. "Take this!" Bandana Dee yelled as she sliced many demon hands as she defended King Dedede. "I've just had enough of this!" the woman yelled. She summoned more demonic limbs from portals she summoned which blocked her from everyone.
"LET'S-A GO!" Mario screamed as he fired up his fireball. "POYO!" Kirby screamed as he did the same. They both threw their fireballs straight through the wall of demon limbs. "AH!" screamed the woman as she was launched back. "ENOUGH! You ruined my pedicure! Now it is time that the Primids deal with you!" she yelled.
Dark matter surrounded the gang and formed into the Primid soldiers. "These things! Why?!" Bandana Dee complained. "Stand your guard," Meta Knight said. "Ta ta boys," the woman said as she disappeared through a dark matter portal. "Hiyah!" Mario yelled as he tossed fire at a Primid. The fire went inside the Primid. "I can't hurt these things!" Mario complained. "Huyah!" Meta Knight yelled as he sliced a Primid multiple times. It still did not do anything. "These Primids, they consume any form of energy," Meta Knight said. "What does that mean?" Mario asked. "It means we are unable to hurt them," Meta Knight said. "Oh yeah we can!" King Dedede yelled. King Dedede smacked it in the head and it did nothing. Then it went ahead and punched Dedede with the same force as he did to it. "AH!" King Dedede screamed as he was smacked into the wall.
Kirby kicked King Dedede out of the wall and landed him on the balcony. "Quickly! To the top!" Meta Knight yelled. Meta Knight flew Dedede up. Mario jumped up while carrying Bandana Dee and Kirby simply floated up. "We're sitting ducks here!" Bandana Dee yelled. The Primids were slowly climbing up the walls like spiders. "We can't hit em'! We can't run from them! How are we getting out of here?" asked Mario. "I have my ways," Meta Knight said. "What ways?" King Dedede asked, "I order you to tell me now!" "3… 2… 1," he said.
The wind began blowing so hard that Mario and Kirby's hats nearly flew from their heads. Rising from behind the castle seemed to be a giant face that belonged to Meta Knight, but Mario quickly realized it was a battleship. "Wow. Nice escape plan," Mario said. The Primids were reaching the top. "Alright! No time to be amazed!" Bandana Dee yelled. "Right! Quickly! Get on board!" Meta Knight ordered. "Me first!" King Dedede yelled.
Meta Knight's ship, The Halberd, turned around and opened its hangar doors. King Dedede quickly hopped on board. Followed by Meta Knight, Bandana Dee, and Mario and Kirby who still attempted to burn the Primids. Meta Knight ran to the steering center and switched it from auto-pilot. The Primids returned to their dark matter forms and fused into a Primid that was the size of Castle Dedede. "Oh mamma mia," Mario said in awe. "Evasive maneuvers!" Meta Knight yelled. Meta Knight turned The Halberd and narrowly dodged the incoming hand of the giant Primid. The Primid ran after them and jumped up. "Here goes nothing," Meta Knight said. Meta Knight dived towards a ravine and the Primid followed. The Primid had no IQ as it did not realize how small it would fit. The walls of the ravine began to fall apart and The Halberd maneuvered itself from the boulders falling. "OH MAMMA MIA! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" Mario screamed. "Hm," Meta Knight grumbled.
A boulder was heading towards them. "Meta Knight!" Bandana Dee yelled. Meta Knight pressed a button and a laser was fired at the boulder, destroying it and The Halberd flew out of the ravine. "Woo hoo hoo hoo! We didn't die!" Bandana Dee yelled. "Yeah! Let's-a go!" Mario yelled. "Po Po Poyo!" Kirby yelled.
Meta Knight began to ascend The Halberd and switched auto-pilot once more. "Hey! Where are we going now?!" King Dedede asked. "Unfortunately, the castle, and I'd assume Dreamland is not safe for us as of this moment your majesty," Meta Knight said. Mario looked out towards the endless space, for even if it was deadly and dangerous, the stars in the sky still made it beautiful and wonderful. "Whoa," he said. "Yup. The view always gets to me," Bandana Dee said. "It sure does," Mario said. "Meta Knight, where are we heading next?" Bandana Dee asked. "Oh?" Kirby questioned. "There are still many questions to be solved. I believe if we return to Mario's world, then we may find some answers," he said. "My world?" Mario questioned. "Yes. After that encounter with that woman, she said somethings, which has led me to believe you came from another world. Probably in another part of our universe," he said. "So that's why you guys didn't know where the Mushroom Kingdom is," Mario said. "Precisely. Do you know the way back perhaps?" Meta Knight said. "U don't, but I know a friend of mine who may be able to help us. We'll just have to find her," Mario said. "And how will we do that?" Bandana Dee asked. "We'll just have to search the stars," Mario said. Meta Knight nodded in agreement.
The Halberd flew through space, leaving the Planet Popstar behind it, and heading towards their fated destination. Meanwhile…
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S NOT HERE!? HE HAS TO BE!" Bowser screamed. "Lord Bowser. He isn't here. We only have the apes, princesses and his brother. As well as those mushroom creatures," Kamek said. "NO! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!" Bowser screamed. "Tisk, tisk. Boys will always be boys," the woman said. "Bayonetta. What brings you here?" Kamek asked with suspicion. "Now Kamek, we're all on the same team, but what brings you here?" Bowser asked. "I take it your enemy has not arrived yet, by all the screaming I heard," Bayonetta said. "So what?" Bowser asked. "Would this happen to him?" Bayonetta asked as she tossed a picture at Bowser.
The picture had Mario fighting the Primids with the Dreamland team. "WHAT?! HOW DID HE GET THERE?!" Bowser screamed. "Who can say? You and Ganondorf were meant to take care of your world," Bayonetta said. "Urgh," Bowser grumbled as smoke came out of his nose. "I do say, this provides a problem," Bayonetta said. "The umbra witch is unfortunately right Lord Bowser. If Mario has made contact with the heroes of this world, who's to say he won't make contact with the other heroes of the Prime Worlds," Kamek said. "Hm! Gather the Council! And hunt Mario and these other heroes down!" Bowser ordered. "Yes Lord Bowser!" Kamek yelled.
"Hm. At long last. It is time we have more fun," Bayonetta said. "Indeed. The Council will need to know about this! It's time we hasten our plans!" Bowser yelled as he and Bayo walked towards a large room and the doors closed behind them.
