Training
"Sup." I hopped over the railing to the pearly white sands of Dagoba beach, where the green haired guy and All Might were waiting. It was 5:56, 4 minutes before I was supposed to arrive.
"Welcome young Hyo!" All Might stuck a hand out to me, which I shook eagerly.
"Hello!" The shrimpy kid bowed with a book clutched to his chest. I laughed and slapped his shoulder a few times lightly.
"Don't worry about all that respect stuff, so did you come up with any ideas?" I questioned, with the boy replying by holding his book out to me, my name on the front. I curled an eyebrow and opened it, almost immediately overwhelmed by the amount of information. "Woah! Dude thanks so much!" I brought him into a one armed hug before All Might's watch alerted us that training time had started. "I'll go through this when we're done, be sure to guide me… Midori?"
"Midoriya Izuku!" The boy bowed deeply before running towards a microwave and putting it on his back, slowly stepping towards the stairs. I shrugged at the weird actions before plugging in my music, until All Might stopped me.
"Let's try this without quirks." He definitely did not suggest a thumbs up. I sighed and put my earbuds on a bench, next to the notebook before picking up two tires and hooking them around my shoulders, running towards the stairs and following Izuku's path.
3 hours later
"Well that was… definitely… a workout." I panted, sitting on the bench while Midoriya took a sip of water. I gave him a side eye and saw something weird, sure he was tired, even more so than I, but he still looked raring to go. "Midoriya, want to go through these notes you wrote?"
He snapped out of his stupor and smiled widely, "I'd love to!" He chirped, watching me open to the first page as he shuffled next to me on the bench.
"Based on the theory Hyo's quirk, Rhythm, works on a multiplicative system, his base strength and endurance should be a priority to further his potential damage and agility after getting a few stacks."
'He writes like a gaming nerd.' I laughed mentally, before continuing on to see another block of words.
"Equipment to play music externally, like a wide range speaker could work to set a rhythm for Hyo to adapt to, but he could also change tracks on the fly, or maybe even remixes, or djing his own versions to increase the tempo…"
'Yeah, I could definitely do that! Making alterations to my favorite songs and making big bucks at the same time… what a life.' I thought happily, remembering when Jiro and I used to… no, bad thoughts! Mind away from her!
"If he can focus enough, maybe through the use of adrenaline during battle, he may even be able to utilize his own heartbeat to fight! But with how fast that would be, he would definitely need to brush up his reaction time and speed."
Below was a diagram of a potential suit. It was a black jumper with stripes of a checkered pattern, like a dance floor, and a gray shirt. The collar of the jacket was made of dark fur or cotton for comfort, and the inside had tons of pockets with sections for vinyls or cds, along with of course a player next to my left and right hip, for vinyls and cds respectively. Below that, I had some black cargo pants with a belt full of little spherical devices. "Sorry if it was a bit pretentious, but I just loved the idea of your quirk so much and–"
"Nah, this is sick!" I shouted, bringing the boy into another one arm hug. This kid had 0 confidence, but he was bloody amazing! Back on track, the spherical devices connected wirelessly to a gauntlet on my left arm, which had a digital music player. It would send out a signal that would connect to the balls, and I could throw them out like little speaker grenades! I could surround the entire battlefield with my tunes, setting the mood of the battle with the push of a button! God how I loved this, it was so cool to imagine!
I smiled widely, looking at the intricate designs of the gauntlets Izuku had designed. The left one had the digital player, as I mentioned, but it was red with carbon plates around my knuckles and stuff for extra protection, almost looking like claws. The inside though, was a flexible mesh that could work with all of my devices, and let me grip things much easier. The right gauntlet, a black one where the back of my palm had a speaker on the back of it. "What's the speaker for?" I had enough noise making devices with the spheres and the cd players and such, did I really need another?
"Ah, it's just something I added for fun. I imagined it like it was super sensitive to the beat, or drums and other percussion, so it would thump on the back of your hand as like a reminder for you to match your thoughts to?"
"Woah, you put so much thought into this!" I shouted, laughing happily as it seemed my silly goal was becoming less unrealistic with every note. Though that also meant… I was nothing without this. I looked at Midoriya and smiled widely, "thanks man, this is awesome. Since All Might is gone, should we do some extra?"
"Yeah!" Izuku hopped to his feet, running over to the pile of trash while I packed away my music player and followed him.
'Nothing without the suit, bah! I don't even have it yet! This just gives me a goal, if I can be just as good without it, it'll be like a 2x multiplier on top of my already awesome skills… or something.' I grinned at the thought of myself yelling 'Kaioken!' Before rushing to fight a villain. Dumb thoughts like that kept me motivated to work with Izuku for another couple of hours, before I took him to my gym.
"It ain't much compared to all of those notes, but let me pay for ya." I whipped out my wallet but he put a hand over it.
"No way, I did that because you're my friend. Friends help each other without asking for anything back." He seemed vehement in his stance before I began laughing.
"Dude, you're so serious all the time… I have coupons, it'd be a waste not to use them on ya, my friend." I took said items out of my wallet. '2 months, then I have to get a job and stuff.' I handed them off to Izuku and tagged in after helping him sign up.
I got Izuku set up with some basic equipment, even though he picked up the mechanics quickly, I still spotted him just in case. After that, I began my own workout, finding it marginally easier, even with the exhaustion I'd piled up. 'Are results usually this fast, or is this because of adrenaline?' I got my answer after finishing my squat and collapsing right then and there. The last thing I heard was Izuku yelling about something.
Lots more training! (2 months passed.)
Now I was on the hunt, since my gym membership expired, I had to get a job to pay for it, and Izuku if he needed. This was on top of school starting up again, and training in the mornings and evenings. 'Maybe I'll drop some of the evening training to work…' I considered, getting off the bus only to realize I was 3 stops after my school. 'Oh for god's sake.' I turned around quick enough to barely dodge a bag swinging at my head. I leaned backwards, letting it pass over me before I did a back handspring and fixed my earbud, "who the hell?"
Kyouka stood there, baffled at what just occurred. I groaned and massaged the back of my head, fighting a blush. "Look, I didn't mean to get off here, I was thinking about stuff and missed my stop."
"Convenient that the exact stop you zoned back in was my school." She replied, putting her bag back on her shoulder. "It wasn't enough, breaking up with you in public, was it? What do I need to do, to communicate that it's over between us?"
"Look Jiro, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to get off here." I apologized, just my goddamn luck, of all places I zone back in, it's right here. I hailed down another bus across the street and rushed across. "I'll see you at U.A though, so don't get sick of me!" I laughed. Sure I was trying to be cordial, but I could mess around every once in a while. The joke was confirmed to have worked as soon as I heard my ex-girlfriend groan loudly.
Here ya go, another chapter! These things are easy to pump out with the length, but once again, if ya got a problem with it, review!
