HINATA
I walk down the street a little nervous. I finally decided to let Akaashi do my hair for graduation. I am not nervous about Akaashi doing my hair but more so me changing a style I have had most of my young life thus far. I want to do something new. Graduation is right around the corner, I'm in the league. It couldn't be more perfect. The salon is not far from my job. I opened the door heading inside. I see Akaashi immediately. He is in the back left corner with the row of stylist stations. It doesn't seem to be very busy. Akaashi is sipping a soda waving to me.
"Hi Hinata," he greets. "Right on time."
"I'm not far from here," I reply walking over to him. Akaashi smiles brightly at me.
"How is your day going?" asks Akaashi.
"Great," I reply. "I'm in the league, about to graduate college. I couldn't be happier."
"That is an accomplishment indeed," replies Akaashi. "Congrats! Kotaro is thrilled to have you on the team." I chuckle.
"I'm glad to be in the league among friends," I reply. "It's wild to believe soon this will be life."
"Believe it," says Akaashi. "Tobio is already practicing. I am surprised you two aren't on the same team. However you get to play with your boyfriend. That sounds like a dream." I try not to reflect how I feel about playing with Miya. He is amazing on the court. His disclipline is as good as Kageyama but it's not the same. Even when we practiced I didn't feel that connection. I can play with anyone but it's different with Kageyama. The chemistry is unmatched. "Go ahead and take a seat." I sit down getting comfortable. Akaashi begins to exam my hair. "Do you know what you want to do with your hair?"
"Not really," I reply. "I know I don't want to cut my hair. I did cut it for a little while but I like the length I have. I was hoping you would have some ideas."
"Hmm," hums Akaashi. "Your hair is fairly healthy. Have you ever considered dyeing your hair?"
"No," I reply. "I love my natural red curls."
"You would make a great blonde," says Akaashi. Kenma immediately pops into my mind. That is the blonde I am thinking. I shake my head no making him laugh. "Too much?"
"Yeah….." I reply. "Do you have anything that is simple." Akaashi is touching my hair looking everything over.
"I think highlights would look nice," he replies. "Nothing crazy. I am thinking a shade 4-5 shades lighter than you current shade. It will add dimension to your hair." Highlights? I look at myself in the mirror and can't picture it. "I know it sounds crazy. If you don't like it I can dye over them to match your hair color."
"Okay," I reply. Can't go wrong if he can fix my hair if I don't like it. "Let's do it!" Akaashi grabs a smock placing it on me. His smile lets me know he is in his element.
"Any big plans?" asks Akaashi.
"Huh?" I question. He chuckles.
"Any big plans now that you are working in your career?" he asks.
"Oh!" I exclaim. "Not at the moment I think."
"Really?" asks Akaashi. "No moving into a nice place with Miya? The salary Kotaro gets is pretty nice. I know not everyone gets paid the same but even newcomers are paid nicely." I hadn't even thought about that. We could afford to move out on our own for sure. It's strange but I am not sure if I want to. I would rather have a place of my own before moving into a nice one with Miya. Things have been rather uncomfortable. "Tobio can certainly afford to move out now." He smirks but I don't know rather to believe him. He lied to me a month ago. Akaashi purposely let me believe that Kageyama and him were an item.
"I can see him selecting somewhere nice to live," I reply.
"For sure," he replies. "It would be nice for us to have a bigger space. Hope Kotaro won't be butt hurt about me moving out." I opt to not say anything. "I am going to mix the dye for your highlights, apply, set you under dryer for 45 minutes, and then we can shampoo and condition."
"Sounds like a long process," I reply.
"Just a little bit," says Akaashi winking at me. "I will be right back." Akaashi walks to the back. I decide to pull out my phone and scroll for a moment. The other stylist in the shop seems to be wrapping up with their client. Glad they aren't loud. They were so quiet I began to feel like Akashi and I was alone. I decide to go on Instagram seeing I got some new followers with it being accounced I am with the MSB Black Jackals.
"Shoyo….." It can't be. I look up to the left seeing Kageyama. He has let his hair grow out. So cute….I mean what is he doing here.
"Hey…." I says slowly. Kageyama left after being at the cabin for 3 days. I was so disappointed to see him go. I felt like we were finally on speaking terms until that um incident in the hot tub. Kageyama can't control himself when we are alone and clearly neither can I. I shift my eyes hearing him walk over.
"Finally letting Keiji get his hands on your hair I see," he replies. I glance back at Kageyama.
"I am," I reply with a smile. "He has done a great job with your hair after all. You will have to wait and see how my hair turns out."
"I'm sure Keiji will tell me all about it," he says scratching the back of his head anxious. Something is on his mind.
"What brings you by?" I ask. "Akaashi is just getting started with me."
"I was going to take Keiji out but it can wait," he replies. "I didn't know he had a client."
"I'm his last client at least," I reply. Kageyama nods his head yes. We just stare each other for a moment. The other stylist leaves the shop with her client. I don't take my eyes off Kageyama. He clears his throat.
"Um my parents…" he says before smiling. "My parents told me they are proud of me." I hop out of the chair running over to him.
"Tobio that's great!" I exclaim. He nods his head grinning making his hair bounce. He always had a strained relationship with his parents. They dislike how dedicated he was to volleyball. To see him make a career out of it I guess they feel okay now.
"I can't believe it," he replies. "They want to spend more time with me. They apologized for pushing me away." Kageyama eyes water before dropping his head. "They didn't want to see me fail."
"They don't have to," I reply. "You were never going to fail. You are doing what you always dreamed." Kageyama lifts his head making eye contact with me. I gaze back at him. The gap between is gradually closed. Kageyama and I both hug each other. He wraps his arms around my waist buring his face into my shoulder. My hands slide up his back on instinct. It's the way I held onto to Kageyama the most in our thrones of passion. I miss Kageyama. I miss him…..
"We are living our dream," he says his voice above a whisper.
"Yeah…." I reply slowly. I want him in my life. Always. "Can we be friends again?" Kageyama turns his face into my neck making my groin tingle.
"We will always be friends" says Kageyama. My eyes flutter as I swear his lips graze my neck. Kageyama hands slide down to my lower back. I press my body against his feeling his erection. I grumble lowly because just touching me has him like this. I begin to pant as does Kageyama. This time it is no mistake. I feel his lips on the side of my neck. Fuck….. I turn my nose into Kageyama hair breathing in his scent. "Shoyo….."
"Sorry to keep you waiting…."says Akaashi before his voice trails off. Kagayama and I separate swiftly. I have the smock protecting me but he has to shove his hands in his pockets adjusting his shirt. Akaashi eyes fall. I didn't miss that. "Tobio, what are you doing here?"
"I was coming by to take you to dinner but didn't know you had client," he explains. I swiftly make my way back to the chair sitting down.
"That does sound nice," he says walking over to Kageyama. "I already know what I want to eat." Kageyama steps back out of Akaashi space. "I will need 2 hours though." Kageyama is slowly walking backwards.
"No worries," he replies. "I will be back in 2 hours." He waves with one hand while the other is still in his pocket. Kageyama makes eye contact with me before disappearing out of the glass door. Akaashi is watching Kageyama. I glance in the mirror to see him staring off before turning towards me.
"As I was saying," he replies. "Sorry about the wait. I created the color mixture and didn't like it. I think a dark honey blonde highlights would be better." He sets the bowl down to grab a roller tray. Looks pretty nefty. He grabs the bowl setting it down on the tray. "Was this your first time seeing Tobio?" I am puzzled by the question. Why is he asking me that.
"Yes," I reply. "I haven't seen him since we were at the cabin." Akaashi nods beginning to part my hair.
"I guess that explains the hug," he replies. I glance at Akaashi in the mirror. He doesn't make eye contact with me.
"We are both living out our dreams," I reply. I was going to say there was nothing to that hug but it would be a lie. Not only that it is none of his damn business.
"That is an acompilish indeed," says Akaashi. I decide to stay quiet for most of my hair service. Lucky for me Akaashi appears to be focused on his job. He is not allowing his emotions to affect him. I can tell he is feeling a way about Kageyama and I hugging. I almost wonder how much of the conversation did he hear. Akaashi gets my hair washed and the golden highlights look great. I am glad he decided to go with this color. It has brightened my face as well. I look like I am glowing. Akaashi smiles. "You like it?"
"I love it!" I exclaim.
"Let me blow dry it," he replies. "Then we will be done." I nod. I relax as Akaashi dries my hair. When he is done my light curls are shiny and bouncy. Thanks to the golden highlights my hair looks fuller. I stand up stretching.
"Thank you so much," I reply. Akaashi nods.
"Thanks for letting me do your hair," he says. "I am glad you trusted me. You are going to kill at your graudation." I chuckle pulling out my card to pay him.
"That is thanks to you," I reply. Akaashi swipes my card. I leave him a good tip because he did an excellent job. I put my card up as Akaashi begins to clean his station. "Enjoy your dinner with Kageyama." He gives a small smile.
"I certainly will," he replies. "Have a good evening." I head out of the salon feeling strange. Kageyama needs to decide if he wants to be with Akaashi. Them being friends is beginning to take a toll on Akaashi. I don't want to pry on Kageyama's personal affairs so I have no plans of telling him this. I do a little bit of shopping feeling inspired by my new hair. I arrive to the apartment seeing Osamu eating ramen.
"Hey," I greet sliding my shoes off. Osamu walks out of the kitchen towards me.
"Hinata, your hair looks great!" he exclaims. I blush.
"Thanks," I reply. "I wanted to do something different. Finishing school, playing in the league."
"Go Hinata," he replies doing a little dance making me chuckle. "You went shopping."
"I did," I reply walk to the dining table. "I grabbed Atsumu and I dinner as well. I only got a few jeans, shirts. Couldn't help myself and got some new sneakers to practice in and a few training clothes." Osamu smiles.
"Getting ready," he replies. "I expect nothing less. What did you get for dinner?"
"I grabbed some katsudon from our favorite spot," I reply. Osamu nods.
"Atsumu will like that," he says with a slight sigh. "He is in a bad mood."
"Why?" I ask as I set the food on the table.
"He wouldn't talk to me about it," says Osamu. "I wanted you to be aware because you know how he is." Miya has been touchy the past few weeks. Mid as well say since spring break. It's like he is trying to pick a fight with me. He gets mad over stuff that never bothered him before. I am in a good mood and hope he will cheer up when I see him.
"Thanks for the warning," I reply. Osamu nods before shoving more ramen into his mouth. I take my bags heading into the bedroom. Miya is sitting at his computer gaming. He turns his head hearing me enter the room. "Hi,"
"Hey," he replies turning back to the screen.
"I got dinner from our favorite spot," I reply setting the bags down. I am waiting for him to comment on my hair but he doesn't. He stands up from his desk walking over to me.
"You went to spend time with Kageyama today huh," he states. What the hell.
"Excuse me?" I question. "I didn't spend any time with Kageyama." Atsumu pulls out his phone.
"Then what is this?" he asks pulling out his phone. He shows me a picture of us hugging in the salon. I can tell it was taken from afar.
"What is this!" I exclaim. "You have someone spying on me!?"
"Not even," he sneers putting up his phone. "Imagine my surprise when I was leaving the smoothie place to see that bullshit." I close my eyes pinching the bridge of my nose sighing.
"Atsumu you have got to stop doing this," I reply. "Kageyama was telling me good news. So what I gave him a fucking hug."
"You know how I feel about him!" exclaims Miya. "It's like my feelings don't even matter to you."
"They do matter," I reply. "You are acting jealous and this has got to stop."
"I would if you stopped interacting with Kageyama the way you do," he retorts.
"I'm tired of this conversation," I reply walking away from him. "You have done nothing but shame me from mourning a friendship. You are constantly arguing with me. I care about you and you can only focus on the negative which is Kageyama. A whole ass person who I never see or talk to on the regular." Miya folds his arms looking away from me.
"I can't get over that night," he mutters.
"What night?" I ask. He has never mentioned this before. A night?
"You know which one," he says not meeting my stare. "Don't act like you don't know. At the cabin….." My breath gets caught in my throat. He is referring to when we had sex the night of the jacuzzi hangout. I can't let Miya know the truth. I was aroused by Kageyama that night. Went into our room with the lust taking over. I awoke Miya with some oral, my favorite. I wouldn't let him climax as I wasn't done. I needed him to last until I was satisfied. Once I started riding him I could hear Kageyama. It was surreal to feel my body calling out, longing for him. It wasn't long before I felt like I was having sex with Kageyama and not Miya. It was the most intimate thing I ever experience. I could hear him climax. Even now his voice continues to echo in my head. I fold my arms.
"Say it," I reply. "I can't assume what you are thinking."
"You wanted to have sex with me only because Kageyama was during the same time!" he explains.
"That's not true," I reply. "I was in the room and already having sex with you before he even started. I would have stopped if you didn't want to have sex. Why didn't you say anything?" Miya blushes.
"It felt good," he admits. "You haven't felt like that in a long time. I'm talking about before we become an item. Before I fucked up and pushed you away. It was nice."
"Does it not feel nice now?" I ask slowly.
"It feels good but it's not the same," he replies folding his arms. "The only difference was Kageyama that time." I am not going to lie to him but I am also not going to admit it either.
"I hear and respect how you feel," I reply. "I am with you Atsumu, not Kageyama. I need you to trust me." I grab his hands feeling a tingle of guilt. Had Noya not stopped us that night I do believe Kageyama and I would have gone all the way. Long as I am not alone with him everything is fine. Miya squeezes my hand.
"It's hard some days," he replies.
"I know and I'm sorry," I reply. Miya stares at me before he smiles.
"Thanks for hearing me out," he replies. "I do feel better." I nod with a grin of my own.
"Good, let's get some food in you," I reply.
"Sure," says Miya. "I want to eat in here, watch a movie with you and cuddle."
"Done," I reply.
