-Chapter 5: Four Years Later-

4 years later…

It was around 1986 when Yukari was given parole by the court.

She exits the prison gate and walks down the road.

Yukari: 4 years…

Yukari stops and looks at the sky, thinking how long she has been in there. Yukari's thoughts were suddenly interrupted when a Toyota Century pulled next to her. The rear passenger door opens and steps out of the car revealing it's her friend Eiko who's excited to see Yukari after four years.

Eiko (smiles): Yukari!

Yukari (smile): Eiko, long time no see!

Eiko: It's been a while hasn't it?

Yukari: Yeah.

Eiko: You know my father is glad that you stayed loyal by not saying a word about us.

Yukari: Don't worry. Tell your father I want to thank him for convincing the court for my parole.

Eiko: Don't mention it.

Yukari then realizes something. She looks around as Eiko is a bit confused why Yukari is looking around.

Yukari : Hey Eiko. Where's Nyamo?

Eiko: Nyamo is a bit busy today, but don't worry she's doing a great job. The business is still going stronger day by day thanks to the increasing economy.

Yukari (smiles): That's great.

Eiko: Oh yeah, Yukari, let's hop in the car. You're always welcome back to the Yakuza.

Yukari: I'm sorry Eiko…

Eiko: Eh?

Yukari: I already wanted to leave the yakuza. I don't want to get involved anymore after what happened to me. (pause) I'm sorry.

Eiko (smug): I know you would say that.

Eiko pulls out an envelope from her bag and offers it to Yukari.

Eiko: Father knew that you wanted to leave the yakuza, so here's an offering to you after all of the contributions you have made for the yakuza.

Yukari grabs the envelope.

Yukari: What is this?

Eiko (grins): Just open it! It would be helpful in your new life.

Yukari opens it and is surprised to see her teaching license.

Yukari: W-wait a minute Eiko. How did it get renewed? I have a criminal record already. I thought my teaching license was rejected.

Yukari is confuse how a former yakuza like her gets to have her teaching license renewed

Eiko (smiles): Oh don't worry, father has his ways. He knows that you want to start a new life. You deserve it anyways, since you stayed loyal even by not saying a word about us.

Yukari is speechless but happy at the same time she can start to redeem herself. Yukari then hugs Eiko as a thank you.

Yukari: Thank you Eiko, you're a good friend.

Eiko: You're welcome.

Yukari lets go and says one more thing before she walks away.

Yukari: By the way, tell Nyamo I wanted to say hi. Also, I wanna say thank you to your dad… for everything.

Eiko: I will. But be careful, Yukari. (serious) I heard not all former convicts get to have a good life after prison. I still remember this saying, "A bad guy for a day will never be a good guy again." (grins) But don't worry I wish the best of luck for your new journey. Goodbye.

Yukari: Goodbye. And just to remind you, I'll never come back.

Yukari and Eiko smiled, and waved each other goodbye. Eiko hops back into her car and drives off, leaving Yukari on the side of the road.

Yukari: I wonder how Tomo's been doing…

Meanwhile in Tokyo at around 3:20pm…

Tomo and Ohyama pulled up at a convenience store.

Ohyama (smiles): Don't worry it's my treat.

Tomo (excited): Alright!

They got out of the car and bought some drinks as refreshments. When they were falling in line, six sukeban girls stormed the place. Ohyama approaches them.

Ohyama: Hey! What the heck are you kids doing around here?

Miruchi: Who the fuck are you?

Ohyama was annoyed by the presence and he pulled out his ID.

Ohyama: Police! I want to have a word with you.

Ohyama continued to argue with the sukeban member while Tomo was holding the drinks. Tomo looks at the convex mirror as she sees another sukeban member in a different aisle sneaking a couple of snacks into her bag. Tomo walks toward the aisle and approaches the other sukeban member, and pulls out her ID.

Tomo: Police! Show me your bag.

Yuka (nervous): W-what are you talking about?

Tomo: I said show me your bag.

Yuka: Uhhhh….

Yuka ran off the store leading Tomo to chase her, while Ohyama was stuck with the other sukeban members.

Miruchi: You're not going anywhere, old man.

Miruchi snaps as she calls out the other members, and two of them pull out their baseball bat. Ohyama whispers at the cashier.

Ohyama: Do me a favor and call the cops.

Cashier: But aren't you-?

Ohyama: Just do it!

Meanwhile outside Yuka gets into her motorcycle and drives off.

Tomo: Shit!

Tomo enters the car, as she turns on the beacon light and siren.

Ohyama: Tomo!

Ohyama is standing next to the counter, as the sukeban members charge towards him. Ohyama jumps over the counter as he avoids getting hit from the swing of the bat. Ohyama was about to pull out his New Nambu M60 revolver until he realized that he left it in the car.

Ohyama: Crap!

One of the sukeban members jumps over the counter and attempts to hit Ohyama with her bat. Ohyama fights back. The sukeban member swings her bat from the right side with both of her hands. Ohyama pushes and grabs her hands from himself. He punches her in the face using his right arm and then grabs the bat from the unconscious sukeban. Another sukeban member jumps over the counter and attempts to swing her bat. Ohyama jumps and stands at the counter. He jumps on the counter a few times to avoid getting his legs hit. When the sukeban member was starting to get tired, Ohyama took it as a chance to use his right leg and kicked her in the face. The sukeban member flung towards the cigarette shelves behind the cashier. Along with it, Ohyama's glasses flew out from his face.

Ohyama jumps down at the counter as the other two sukeban members charge at him. He swings his bat in front of the two and they walk back a bit near the drinks aisle. Ohyama missed a few times since he could not see well. The two sukeban members charge at Ohyama. One of them punches him in the face while the other disarms the baseball bat from him. Another sukeban member grabs the bat and hits him in the back. Ohyama almost fell down but he managed to maintain his stance. The one sukeban member tries to kick Ohyama in the face, but Ohyama ducks. He lies down and cross kicks the the sukeban member's legs as she flung and spins toward the fridge and hits it. The glass door of the fridge collapses as well as the refreshments falls down from the fridge and rolls over the floor. Ohyama stands up, and the remaining sukeban member tries to punch him, but Ohyama avoids it. Ohyama jumps and kicks her mid air in the stomach, making her crash into the shelves.

Ohyama sighs in relief. He walks back to the counter and finds his glasses lying on the floor. He then realizes something felt missing.

Ohyama: Wait, where's the other member?

Ohyama hears a door open from the employees room. He turns around to see Miruchi helding the cashier at gunpoint.

Ohyama: Listen, you don't have to do this.

Miruchi wasn't looking properly and stepped on a soda can making her slip.

Miruchi: Wah!

Ohyama rushes and grabs her gun. He pulls out the handcuffs

Ohyama: You're under arrest!

Meanwhile, Tomo was chasing Yuka…

Tomo: This is Inspector Tomo! Requesting for backup!

Yuka was speeding through traffic with her motorcycle. Tomo speeds up from behind her. Yuka turns to the left, entering a tight road, Tomo follows as well. Many people walking by run to the sides to avoid getting hit by Tomo's car. Yuka drives through an alley. Tomo steps on the brakes since the car can't fit.

Tomo: Shit!

Tomo slams at the horn as she was about to reverse her car. She sees a small fence from an old house with Yuka at the other end. Tomo steps on the gas pedal and drives through the fence of a random person's backyard. Yuka sees Tomo chasing her from the side view mirror, and drives off, hoping to shake Tomo off her.

But, Tomo is one crazy driver.

Yuka sneaks at the side of the road full of cars. She laughs thinking Tomo won't be able to chase her in such traffic. Yuka was wrong. Tomo immediately enters through the sidewalk as the pedestrians run to the sides in panic.

Tomo (shouts): GET OUT OF THE WAY!

Yuka: She's crazy!

Yuka turns to the right, while beating the red light. The cars pass by stops and skids. Tomo exits the sidewalk as she turns to the right following Yuka down the road.

They both swerve at the road as Tomo gets closer and closer. Yuka squeezes through a small gap between two trucks. Tomo slows the car down. She can't overtake since it is a two lane road and the sidewalk has railings. The gap was close so she couldn't get through. The truck in front of Tomo was a car carrier trailer. Tomo accelerates a bit, making the car bump the lever. The rear door opens making it a perfect ramp, Tomo steps hard on the gas as it enters the ramp and flies off.

Yuka sees her side view mirror and her eyes grow bigger.

Yuka: She's flying?!

Tomo lands in front of Yuka and steps on the brakes. Yuka oversteers and falls down as the motorcycle slides.

Yuka (in pain): Argh! That hurts.

Tomo gets out of the car and runs towards Yuka. Tomo kneels down next to Yuka and handcuffs her.

Tomo: You're under arrest!

As Tomo was reciting the Miranda Rights, police can be seen arriving at the scene. Ohyama steps out of the police cruiser. The police assist Tomo in arresting Yuka.

Ohyama (smiles): Tomo!

Tomo hugs Ohyama and notices his bruises.

Tomo (smiles): Ohyama! You alright, dear?

Ohyama: Yeah, don't worry.

When they arrived at the police station. Tomo and Ohyama were pulling the sukeban gang by a rope.

Miruchi: You really think you can lock us up forever?!

Yuka: Yeah, our friend can bail us all out!

Tomo: So what?

Mirchu: Our friend is rich!

Yuka: And she's a prodigy!

Tomo: Prodigy, and rich? (curious) Sounds familiar…

After work…

Ohyama: Hey Tomo.

Tomo: What is it?

Ohyama: Well, it's Friday today, wanna drink?

Tomo gives Ohyama a thumbs up.

Tomo (grins): Sure!

Meanwhile in Tokyo Station…

Yukari steps out of the train station.

Yukari (smiles): Man, Tokyo has changed a lot since I was gone.
