The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 68
Derek was standing and talking to Mia and Tasha when there was another knock at the door, he said, "I'll get it" and made his way across the room, when he pulled the door opened he grinned when he saw James and Connor standing there. He hugged them both and said, "come in, come in", they were all smiles as they congratulated him on finding his Mrs. Right to which Derek said, "she's always been the only woman I've ever loved".
James said, "I'm so sorry that you and Penelope had to go through all of that". Derek said, "thanks, me too but it's all over now and me and baby girl are together and getting married", Connor said, "she must be an amazing woman". Derek said, "you have no idea man, nooooooo idea", the three men laughed as he led them into the other room to meet everybody.
He remembered Mia from court and he recognized the team, well except for Spencer and Shane who were at the BAU working when he was testifying in the courtroom on Derek's behalf as a character witness. Derek said, "this is Spencer pretty boy Reid and this is one of our newest members this is Shane and that one over there" as he pointed to Luke who was talking to Desi "is Luke".
James said, "shew, you live a hectic life don't ya my friend?", Derek laughed and said, "truer words have never been spoken James" as the three men sat down and started talking. Mia and Tasha looked up when Fran said, "ladies, please come up and see the bride", the men watched as Sarah, Desi, Mia and Tasha got up and followed Fran upstairs to see the bride.
Dave said, "they've only got about 10 minutes" and he no more than got the words out of his mouth did somebody else knock on the door, Dave said, "that must be Kenny" as he walked across the room to answer the door. When he opened the door he said, "Kenny, come in, come in and thank you for fitting this wedding in on such short notice", Kenny said, "no problem my friend, no problem at all" as they headed into the living room.
Upstairs the women were all laughing and talking, Penelope was nervous, ohhhh nervous was an understatement, it was like her heart was going to burst from her chest and fly across the room and out the window. Penelope smiled at Mia and Tasha as they walked into the room, she thanked them both for coming on such short notice, to which both women smiled and thanked her for being invited to the wedding.
Fran glanced down at her watch a few minutes later and said, "it's almost time, Dave should be here any time now", Penelope nodded her head and said, "yeah, it's about time for papa bear" and then he knocked on the door. Sarah opened the door and said, "come in Dave" as she stepped back into the room to rejoin the other women, Fran sighed and said, "well honey that'ls our cue, we'll see you outside", she nodded her head and said, "we'll be right there".
After hugging the bride everybody left the room except for the bride and father of the bride, Dave said "are you ready to do this kitten?", she nodded her head and said, "I was born ready Dave". He held out his arm and said, "alright then, let's do this, let's get you ad that man of yours married", she grinned and said, "yeahhhhh, let's get this show on the roadddd" as they walked out of the room arm in arm.
