Weevil could feel his heart racing as he knocked on Veronica's door. She quickly darted to the door and let him in, greeting him with a hug. He couldn't help but smile at her and her enthusiasm.

As he entered her apartment, he could see that Wallace and Mac was in a similar state. They both greeted him welcome as he came in. He hadn't seen them since the reunion, come to think of it. Weevil hadn't brought any beverage himself, but he was quickly handed a concoction from Mac. "It's a drink of my own making, don't ask what's in it. I just call it "Magic"." Mac made jazz hands and giggled. Weevil cocked an eyebrow as he smelled the solo cup.

As Veronica started dancing to the next song, he figured he might as well join them at their level. He quickly put the cup to his lips, swallowing in big gulps. Weevil hadn't expected it to be tasty, so his surprised look made Mac laugh.
"I make a mean drink," she commented. He nodded and before he knew it, she handed him another cup.

"Welcome to this celebration," Wallace shouted at him, just a few notches louder than the volume of the song required.
"What are we celebrating?" Weevil asked, momentarily joined by Veronica at his side.
"That this - our girl, finally quit surferboy!" Wallace smiled and high-fived Mac, while Veronica grimaced. "I can toast to that," Weevil replied, and shot a glance at Veronica before doing a toast with Wallace. He couldn't help his grin, and as he hadn't been drinking much lately, just the occasional beer, it didn't take long before he started to feel the "Magic".

"Fine, fine! Let's do another round of shots. Truth or dare, anyone?" Veronica tapped her fingers together like she had a masterplan. Mac groaned, but Wallace rooted her on. Weevil just nodded when Veronica looked at him, downing another drink of Magic before he sat down by the coffee table next to the others. They lowered the music just in time for the first round.

"Weevil, since you are our newest addition tonight – you're up." Mac looked at him expectantly.
"Fine. Truth, I guess." His heart was beating fast already, and he figured he should take it slower with the drinks. He hadn't actually planned on staying here tonight, but if this continued, he might have to.

"Are you single?" Mac fired the second he said truth. Weevil sighed, and shot a look at Veronica. She looked as innocent as ever, but didn't meet his eyes.
"Yeah." He finally replied, before he decided to do the shot even though he had answered the question. Fuck it. There was collective cheering when he did the shot, so he tried not to grimace at the tangy flavor. Then he gave the round to Mac.

"Dare," she boldly stated.
"Drink a beer upside down". He had said it because it was the first thing that popped into his head. However, the determination on Mac's face made him grin.

Mac went over to the fridge to grab a beer and then tried to get in a good position. Veronica helped open the beer and held it ready for her. Weevil had to admit, he was pretty impressed when she downed the beer almost without spilling a single drop. "Ta-dah, you just discovered my party trick," she happily made her way over to the couch with Veronica in tow. Veronica seemed amused, and he was glad to see her happy.

"Veronica." Mac's eyes were full of excitement.
"Truth," Veronica was fast to respond. Mac seemed disappointed, but only hesitated a second before she asked her a question.
"… Who was the last person you kissed?" Weevil tried not to let his expression show how he felt about that particular question, but Wallace clapped and laughed as Veronica chose to do the shot and not reply. Mac cheered and said "uuuuuh!", indicating she wanted the gossip.
Weevil tried to tell himself that their last kiss had been a decoy, it didn't really count, and there was no guarantee she hadn't kissed anybody else since then. He had no claim to her.

Veronica looked Weevil dead in the eye as she did the shot however, quickly reassuring him. He licked his lip and looked down to conceal his smile, trying hard not to give anything away.

It was now Veronica's turn, and her firm gaze on Weevil told him there was another one coming for him.
"Hey! What about your very best friend? Don't I get to join?" Wallace chimed in, seeing Veronica's eyes on Weevil.
"Of course! Wallace." Veronica smiled and clapped her hands.

"It's not fun asking who you last kissed, you're the only one happily coupled here," Mac shot back at him, slurring a bit as she spoke. Veronica started laughing, and Wallace tried to pout, but miserably failed.
"So? I can still be fun! I choose truth, I ain't showing my party trick after you." Mac finally smiled back, while Veronica thought about a question to ask him.
"Did you ever get creative with Alexis Link after the reunion?" Veronica looked at Wallace with a mischievous grin, visibly holding her breath as she stared at him. Wallace looked incredulously at her, running his tongue over his teeth before he answered.
"Yes, ma'am," he answered as he rubbed his hands, visibly proud.
Veronica and Mac cheered and Weevil joined in on the laughter that followed.

Mac yawned and peeked at the clock. "It has been a lovely time, people, but I have to get up early tomorrow. Thank you for having me, and good night." She stood up then and gave a salute, lightly swaying, causing Wallace to laugh.

"I guess I better make sure she makes it home. It was nice seeing you both!" Wallace got up from the couch himself, lightly holding Mac as she tried to put on her shoes. Veronica was looking at her friends, a huge smile on her face.
As they went out the door, they waved at them. Weevil looked at Veronica, just then realizing that they were alone.

"They live a block from here, just a few houses down from each other," Veronica explained.
Weevil looked at the ready-poured shots on the table, then his gaze met hers. The air around them were suddenly thick with anticipation. She gave him a coy look, lifting one of her eyebrows.

"What was it you wanted to ask me earlier?" His voice was low and husky now as the atmosphere changed.
Veronica smiled back at him coyly, shaking her head slightly.
"You have to pick truth or dare first."
He looked down as he pretended to think for a moment.

"Dare." Weevil looked her right in the eyes as he gave his answer, thinking to himself that there was nothing she could dare him to do, that he wouldn't want to do. The air between them was humming as Veronica smiled at him anew. The look in her eyes were driving him nuts.

He had been so unsure that she wanted him like he wanted her, and maybe she didn't all the way, but the look in her eyes told him that they at least wanted some of the same things.

"Kiss me like you mean it. Nothing at stake, nobody following us, just me and you. Kiss me the way you feel." Her cocky grin was replaced by a soft smile, her body language calmer, but the way she said the words made his heart pound in his chest.
She was asking for honesty.

Weevil had been sitting across from her and debated for a second whether to stand or walk over to the couch. He decided on the latter, putting himself close to her on the couch. She had the most earnest look on her face, making him nervous even though he wanted nothing more than to kiss her just to kiss her. No pretence.

He exhaled slowly, before he put his hand on the side of her face, caressing her neck as he looked into her eyes. His heart was beating so hard he was sure she could hear it. Weevil met her gaze once more before closing his eyes, leaning into her, carefully putting his lips on hers. As their lips met, an electric current travelled through his body.

Weevil could feel her hands on him, and there was an intense wave of pleasure hitting him as he realized she wanted to kiss him just as much as he wanted to kiss her.

The kiss started out careful, so slow it was painful, and yet it was the best kiss he'd ever had. They soon picked up the pace, Veronica moved closer to straddle him, and he wanted nothing else than to be enveloped by her. Their arousal was building, and her moaning in his ear was quickly making him hard. Hell, thinking about kissing her made him hard. His hands travelled down her lower back.

She broke the kiss, panting in his ear, holding around his neck with her hand.
This could so easily go further. He didn't feel ready to speak, his head swimming with thoughts and possibilities. She leaned down and placed a careful kiss on his neck tattoo, and then at the side of his jaw. They were both breathing heavily.

"Are you staying?" she asked in almost a whisper, tickling his neck. He nodded, not trusting his voice just yet. Veronica took hold of his left hand, intertwining it with her own. They collectively inhaled, but the air around them still crackled with sparks.
Weevil tried to think, tried to reason with his body's urgent needs. Then Veronica sent him a long look, saying everything without uttering a word.

"Don't look at me like that," he finally said, his voice rough with lust. She looked him straight in the eye, daring him onwards.
Veronica didn't respond in words, but she bit her lip before she removed her t-shirt. Her breasts were in the perfect height of Weevil's face, and he groaned as she let the garment fall to the floor. He quickly pressed her body into his, placing kisses along the rim of her bra, letting his tongue dip into one of the cups. She quietly gasped, then he opened her bra in one motion.

Then, there was a knock on the door.

"Veronica?" they could hear Wallace's voice from outside. They shared a look before Veronica quickly put her bra and t-shirt back on, and then she walked over to open the door.
Wallace looked at her for a second after she opened the door, gazing back at Weevil.

"Sorry, Mac left her phone here, she didn't realize until we were halfway home," he quickly explained, Veronica nodding before he finished the sentence.
"Oh, of course, no problem," Veronica tried to act nonchalant, but Weevil wasn't sure Wallace bought it. She walked over to the coffee table where the blue iPhone was, quickly returning it to Wallace who still stood in the doorway.
"Thanks! You two enjoy the rest of your evening. Good night!" Wallace turned around too fast for them to respond, and Veronica shut the door behind her before she locked it. The look she sent Weevil after closing the door made him think they had the mutual feeling of being caught.

"That was… some timing," she mused as she made her way back to the couch. Weevil nodded. Veronica sat down next to him again, and put her hand on his thigh. The interruption had given them a chance to calm down, and Weevil was starting to feel like that might be a good thing.

"Ready to go to sleep?" he asked, while reaching out to her hand. She nodded slowly, a faint smile on her lips.
"Do you want to sleep in my bed with me, or do you prefer the couch?" Veronica grinned, showing that she knew what the answer would be.
"Bed, what an unknown word, I wonder what that feels like," he said with amusement, aiming at his current situation.

Veronica held his hand as they went to the bathroom and brushed their teeth together, and then she let him have the bathroom.
As he entered her bedroom for the first time, he could see her silhouette in the dim light. The sight of her slim frame in the bed made his stomach flip, and he could feel the heat pooling in his stomach as he realized that she barely had any clothes on.
He removed his jeans, t-shirt and socks before he climbed in on the other half of the bed. Veronica turned around to face him as he laid down, crawling closer to him.

"If Wallace hadn't interrupted us, do you think we would have…?" Veronica's eyes didn't meet his as she asked. He nodded slowly.
"I guess that's where we were heading.. I'm kind of glad he interrupted, though." Weevil decided to keep up the honesty. The walls between them felt almost non-existent in that moment. When he glanced down at Veronica however, it looked like he had slapped her, and he felt the urge to reach out to her.

"No, no, not like that, don't take it the wrong way," he said as he tried to collect his thoughts, carefully putting his hand on her chin, rubbing his fingers along the line of her jaw.
"I want to, believe me. I've wanted to for longer than you probably realize. But I want it to be right." Weevil bit his lip, feeling his heart pick up the pace again. This was dangerously close to admitting his feeling for her, not just now, but for more years than he cared to count.

Veronica just gazed into his eyes for a moment and then nodded slowly.
"I don't know what this is to you, but…" His voice trailed off. She just nodded slowly again and put her hand on his head, letting her fingers trace his face and neck. Then she leaned in to kiss him, and the softness of it was almost enough to unravel him.

"Good night, V," he whispered as they broke the kiss.
They fell asleep quickly after that, intertwined in each other's arms under the duvet.
