Chapter 6: Meeting the Phenex
Sunlight floods into the room, waking Colton up.
As he tries to get up, he noticed a small weight on him.
He lifts his head to see Uria sleeping stomach up on Colton's chest. Uria was spread out.
Colton smiled at the sight. He then slowly got up, and moved Uria onto the bed, without waking him up.
Colton took out his communicator to continue the previous day's conversation.
"What do Mythic Demons even eat?"
There was no response, so Colton started to make breakfast.
Mid way through, he got a text.
"Literally anything. Any kind of food, living beings, energy. They eat about twice as much as us. Why are you texting me this early anyway? I need my sleep, don't bother me."
'It's 7 AM. Drama queen.'
Colton doubled up on food.
When Uria eventually woke up and flew over to the kitchen, Colton had made an entire table's worth of food.
"Alright buddy. I heard you eat a lot, so go ahead and dig in."
Colton took a plate of food, which was all he needed, while Uria was busy eating the rest.
Once he was done, he waited for Uria to finish the rest.
Once Uria was done, Colton got his attention.
"Hey Uria."
Uria turned to look at him.
"Are you able to tell the difference between a stray and a non-stray?"
Uria nodded.
"Good. Well, if you're ever feeling really hungry, and I'm not able to cook something at that moment, you can go ahead and hunt for strays. It'll make my job easier and you'll get a meal out of it. Of course you have permission to go back to your normal size when your hunting, just make sure that you stay as hidden as possible."
Uria seemed to really like that. He flew over, rubbing against Colton a few times before wrapping around him like usual.
'May the afterlife have mercy on those who become Uria's food.'
Later after school, everyone was hanging around the ORC building.
Colton was sitting on one of the couches with Koneko next to him.
Uria was stretched out, laying on both of their laps.
'How cute. This just proves to me more that they're a great match. I'll just have to keep teasing them until they finally get together.' Akeno thought, looking at them.
Colton then took notice of how unfocused Rias was.
"Prez?"
No response.
"President?"
Still no response.
"Rias!" Colton shouts.
That got Rias to focus. "Huh? Yeah, what is it?"
"Are you okay? You've been zoning out for a while now." Colton asked.
Before Rias could answer, a magic circle appeared.
Colton immediately dismissed Uria.
Out of the circle were two people. A woman with gray hair wearing a maid outfit, and a blond haired man whose whole being screamed self absorbed.
"Lady Rias." The woman said.
"Yes Grayfia?" Rias asked the now named Grayfia.
"Lord Riser wished to see you." Grayfia explained, motioning to the man next to her.
The man stepped up. "My darling Rias, Riser wanted to see you before the big day."
'He talks in the third person?' Colton thought to himself.
"I told you Riser. I'm not marrying you." Rias declared.
"Marriage!?" Issei exclaimed.
Riser then noticed Colton, Issei and Asia. "Oh, so you got yourself more servants? One of them's a cute one."
Asia was immediately uncomfortable.
"Why don't we sit down and have a nice chat?" Riser suggested.
Soon, Riser was sitting on one of the couches next to Rias, while everyone else was standing around.
"If I may ask. Who are you?" Colton asked.
"You must be new to the supernatural world. I am Riser Phenex head of the Phenex household, a very important pillar. You should feel honored to be in the presence of Riser."
Colton put his hands behind his back, this was to hide his clenched fist.
Soon Akeno walked in with tea.
"Riser sees that your queen is as beautiful as ever my dear."
Akeno didn't show it, but it was very clear that she wanted nothing more than to strangle Riser.
Riser then out a hand on Rias' thigh, Rias responds by shoving his hand off and moving away from him.
"I told you, I'm not marrying you!"
"My dear, you don't have a choice. In order to preserve our species, us pure blooded devils need to unite."
"It appears that lord Sirzechs was right. This isn't going anywhere. Thankfully he's willing to cancel the marriage if you win against Riser in a Rating Game." Grayfia explained.
Rise then began to laugh. "Her beat Riser? Don't make Riser laugh. Besides, Riser has a full set."
As if on que, Riser's peerage teleports in.
"No fair!" Issei shouts. "A guy like him gets a harem and I don't!?"
"Rias, why is your servant yelling?" Riser asks.
"He dreams on being-" Rias then pauses with a sigh. "The Harem King."
Riser then began to laugh. "Watch here boy." He said as he approached one of his members.
The woman looked uncomfortable as Riser began to do... indecent things to her in front of everyone.
Once he was done, he turned to Issei. "That is the difference between us. As a low class trash, you'll never get close to this."
"Do you do this to all members of your peerage?" Colton asked, with a slightly disgusted look.
Riser turned to him. "Maybe. What's it to you?"
"It's just that, the blond girl over to the side, her soul gives off very similar energy to yours. Is she your sister?"
"You bring up a point. Ravel!" Riser commands.
The girl in question walked over, looking incredibly uncomfortable.
Riser then proceeded to... touch her in indecent places, making her even more uncomfortable.
Colton gained a full look of disgust. 'What a pig.'
Riser then stopped as Ravel walked back to where she was standing before, shadows covering her face. Colton could tell that she was on the verge of crying.
At that moment, Colton silently cast a powerful spell. 'Stopza.'
Everything turned gray except Colton and Ravel.
Ravel then noticed and looked around, seeing nothing move.
"What the?" She said, confused.
Colton then started to approach her, which she noticed.
"Did you do this?" Ravel asked.
Colton nodded.
He then stopped right in front of her. "Are you okay?"
Ravel was caught off guard by that question.
"W-what do you mean?" She asked, trying to deny that she wasn't.
"You looked like you were about to cry. Do you need someone to comfort you?"
Ravel was taken aback. "But you just met me."
"So? That doesn't mean I can't help you."
Ravel, who was already a little emotionally unstable, began to tear up, and hugged Colton while crying.
Ravel was crying for a whole 4 minutes. Once she was done, she pulled away.
Colton then held out a handkerchief.
Ravel took it and began to wipe away her tears with it.
"If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? You look to be my age."
"That is because I am your age." Ravel explained.
Ravel then handed the handkerchief back.
"Ya know, I also know what it's like dealing with an older brother that's full of themself." Colton said.
"You do?" Ravel asked.
"Yeah. My brother thinks he's top of the food chain just because he's older, and next to inherit."
"Just like Riser." Ravel laughed.
The two then spend the next few minutes chatting, while time was still stopped.
"Here, take this." Colton said, handing Ravel a communicator like the one he uses to message his family.
"What's this?" Ravel asked.
"It's so we can stay in touch. Even though I cheered you up just now, I think it's better to have someone to talk to at anytime even if it's not face to face."
"Thank you." Ravel said with a small blush.
"This one already has my contact, so if you need someone to talk to, just shoot me a text." Colton explained.
"Now we should probably get back to where we were standing before, so I can resume time."
Ravel nodded and they walked back into place.
Colton then released the spell and time flowed again.
"Riser will give you 10 days to train. It's only fair, as your servants are too weak right now."
"Why you!" Issei said as he got ready to charge.
Colton put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't. Save your energy for training."
Issei then calmed down.
"Riser will be taking his leave."
With that, Riser and his peerage teleported away.
"Spend this time wisely." Grayfia said as she too teleported away.
Rias turned to everyone. "Pack your things. We're going to go to a vacation home of my family's."
A while later, everyone is seen walking up a slope.
Issei was carrying a large bag over his shoulder.
"How much longer?" Issei complained.
"Not that much longer Issei." Rias said, walking right by him.
"On your left." Kiba said, passing Issei.
Kiba was holding a bag twice the size of the one Issei was carrying.
"Are you carrying a bag of feathers?!" Issei exclaimed.
"Issei, stop complaining. We're not here to take a vacation. We're here to train." Colton said from above.
Issei turned his head and saw that Colton and Koneko were riding Uria at his full size, while holding several bags that were bigger than the one Issei had.
"Says the guy not even walking!" Issei retorts.
"Oh quiet, you perv." Koneko said.
Colton and Koneko arrive at the top before everyone else.
They hop down and look at the building.
"Woah. Nice place." Colton said.
"Thank you." Rias said as she caught up.
Everyone else made it up the hill, with Issei collapsing.
"Alright everyone, get ready. Your training starts now." Rias said.
