"Damn it lady, you're even more twisted than I thought...I understand now why your husband does all the cooking in your house."
I looked up from putting the finishing touches to my 'Kid in prison' customisation on a website and sighed. "Afternoon, Heyes...not poisoning the Kid wasn't one of your rules now was it?"
Heyes glared at me, hands on his hips as he said in exasperation. "I didn't think it needed to be, seeing as you're always insisting you don't never kill either of us!"
Stung I quickly saved my picture and glared up at him. "I didn't kill him!"
Heyes sighed. "Well all right maybe you didn't, but arsenic poisoning? That's harsh even for you!"
I blew out a heavy breath. "I'm running out of ideas, and I'm trying to follow at least some of your rules, you ever think fifty was a bit excessive?"
Heyes snorted at me, his eyes dark with anger. "Obviously not, seeing as you just poisoned my partner."
"Only partially, Heyes, he was complaining I was ignoring him, what was I supposed to do?"
"Doesn't it concern you that your answer to not ignoring your fantasy cowboy is to poison him?"
I shifted a little uncomfortably as Heyes' point hit home. "Well it's kinda hard to come up with ideas..." I trailed off as I realised saying "when you've hurt him as much as I have." was hardly going to help my cause.
Heyes was looking at me, his smirk leaving me in doubt he knew what I had been about to say, something confirmed when he added. "I was visiting with your husband on Friday when you were at work and heard that song. "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover. I suggested you could rewrite it with the lyrics. 'Ninety ways to torture a gunslinger."
I muttered to myself. "Now you're exaggerating Heyes, its only been sixty five..."
Heyes snorted and shook his head. " So far!"
Irritated I stood and stared at him and he easily met my gaze. "I'm hardly the only one! You harass everyone else who does this?"
Heyes smirked. "Sure I do! I got a schedule and everything! Though I gotta add to my K's as I'm missing one or two...but I'm giving Kim a break before I visit her, as I liked her last one...and it sure was funny watching Kid get all jealous about you drooling all over that Tad boy in her earlier one."
"Well what can I say? One fantasy boy isn't always enough for a girl."
"Maybe so, but don't you think having more than two is kinda greedy?"
I mentally counted just how many I had, and decided not to mention the other three...likely going up to four in the near future.
Heyes frowned and paced a couple of times." But that's enough distractions, can we get back to the main reason I'm here..."
I sighed and sat back down at my computer, as Heyes grumbled at me. "Look lady, you gotta find a new hobby, this inter-web thing, though why its called that when it don't look like any spider lives in it, looks plenty big enough to find one."
I turned to face him as a question struck me. "You talked to Kid about this? He sure doesn't like it when I don't write about him."
Heyes looked a little shifty. "Well we agree that he wishes you'd write a story that ain't so painful...so what I'm suggesting is you find something on top of writing 90 ways, just for a bit of variation for all of us."
I grinned at him as an idea struck me. "Maybe I oughta shift my attention to you...that'd be different."
He coughed and stepped back holding up his hands in defeat as he snapped. "Forget it...but I'll be back in December."
With that he vanished and with a laugh I turned back to my computer shaking my head...Ninety ways...
