She is looking for a misplaced shirt belonging to their son, sure it must have somehow become muddled in her husbands clothes, and does not mean to look into any private place that she should not go. Still, Elizabeth knows she has stumbled upon something surprisingly personal and precious when a box tumbles from the drawer and falls open, simple pressed flowers she recalls so well from the head-dress she wore on her wedding day. When dear Fitzwilliam catches her moments later, he seems more afraid of reproach for keeping such things than she might for prying into his private quarters, but when she smiles, her dear, sweet, sentimental husband smiles back, and all is well.
