Mex's Dimensional Adventures

Arc 1, Chapter 2: Supernatural

"So... ponies?" Sam said.

"Don't get too excited Sam," Dean said in a mocking tone.

Sam glares at Dean and then looks back at me.

"Yep, that's where I live now, and technically I am a pony," I say with a smile.

Sam and Dean take another swig of their beers, finishing them and crack open a different kind of bottle, one with a dark brown liquid in it and filled two small glasses.

"Ooh, what's that?" I say.

"Whiskey, we need it," Dean said, putting the lid back on the bottle.

I look over to Castiel who is just staring at me without blinking.

"And what's your deal? That blade you carry, what is it exactly?" I say.

Castiel draws it out of his sleeve.

"This is my angel blade, it was forged in Heaven from heavenly silver and touched by God," Castiel said.

"Heaven?" I say, calling back to my time in the library researching pre-golden age beliefs.

"Yes," Castiel said plainly.

"That city in the clouds type deal?" I say, looking at the brothers.

"Yeah, pretty much," Dean said.

"No, it's not in the-" Castiel said, getting interrupted by Dean.

"What was with the lightning?" Sam said with crossed arms.

Dean and Castiel leant in a little closer.

I smile a bit.

"Ah yes, the "Lightning," I reply.

I take a deep breath.

"Being a guardian, I can weave the Light into one of three elements, Solar, Void and Arc, that last one being-" I say being cut off.

"Lightning right," Dean said.

I nod my head and point my finger at Dean.

"Show me," Castiel said with a dead-pan face.

I look at Castiel with a raised eyebrow.

"Are you sure? It's quite the spectacle," I say.

Castiel nods his head and the brothers back up a little.

"Alright, here goes," I say.

I bring my hands together and slowly separate them, an arc lightning bolt flows between my hands with two void and solar orbs rotating around the bolt, lighting up the entire motel room. My eyes are glowing a pure white.

Sam and Dean look on in pure shock and awe, while Castiel's eyes go wide in disbelief.

"Wow, okay, that is some serious juice kid," Dean said.

Sam just breathes faster while staring at my hands.

The Arc bolt and other elements dissipate.

"Satisfied?" I say.

"There are only two beings I know of capable of doing anything like that," Castiel said.

"Who?" Sam said.

"God and the Archangels; Even the Archangels couldn't do that so flawlessly," Castiel said.

"Oh, that's not the most powerful force I command, maybe I'll show it to you one day," I say with a smile, admittedly showing off a little.

"T-that's not your-" Sam said being dean interrupted him.

"That piece of yours is unique too, isn't it?" Dean said.

"My hand cannon? Yes, its name is the Ace of Spades, it was left to me by a dear friend who fell for the last time," I say, my mind drifting back to Cayde.

"How is it made?" Castiel said.

I turn to look at him.

"Specifically? I'm not sure, I'm not a gunsmith, but the basic idea is simple; Each part of the weapon is infused with Light in a slightly different way, to give it special properties," I say.

"Ghost?" I say, giving him a nod.

Ghost summons the Ace of Spades into my hand in a flash of light and I hand it to Castiel who examines it closely.

"It's so strange, it's as if it was made in Heaven, but also by a human," Castiel said, handing it to Dean.

Dean examines it as a veteran gunman would, he ejects the magazine to have a look at the inner workings, and the ejected magazine vanishes in Light. Dean stops moving at looks at me.

"Yeah, the ammunition is Light based and if you don't have the Light and you attempt to reload it; It just dumps the mag," I explain.

Dean smiles wide and looks at Sam.

"Sammy? I want one," he said with a toothy smile.

Sam just grunted out a scoff and took the weapon from Dean for his turn to examine it.

"Do all of your weapons use Light as ammo?" Sam said.

"No, only special pieces like this one, most of them use ammunition that's not too far off from what you would use; Or Energy Cells," I say. Taking it back.

"Guardian? New data from the ship says we missed a Hive member that was scouting for a second base; It's already laid down roots and is replicating," Ghost said.

"And I'm gonna guess the dam things going low power to avoid a scan, right?" I say.

"Affirmative, we're gonna have to track it down manually," Ghost said.

"I'm sorry, did you just say "ship" because it sure sounded like it," Sam said.

"Ah yes, I forgot that part, how I actually ended up here," I say.

I explain what happened with the special drive (the DHM) that allows me to travel to different realities.

"A multi-dimensional engine? In the hands of a twelve-year-old..." Sam said.

"Hey!" I say.

"Your maturity aligns with that age," Castiel said bluntly.

"Right... but I have the experience of my older self," I say.

"Anyway, I've gotta get on the trail of this leftover Hive so it doesn't expand enough to cause harm to the locals; It was nice to meet you three," I say.

"Hold on, we can help you," Sam said.

"No thanks, I don't wanna put y'all in harm's way," I reply.

"So, do you know this area well enough to track these things down?" Dean said.

"No, but I know the Hive, and that's enough," I say.

"No one's gonna talk to an eight-year-old," Sam said.

I sigh, remembering my lessons with Twilight about accepting friends' help.

"Alright, fine, but if you're gonna roll with me, you're gonna roll properly strapped," I say.

"What do you mean?" Castiel said.

"Grab onto my shoulders," I say.

"Ghost? Call the ship, activate the camo plates," I say.

"Roger that, preparing mass transmat," Ghost replied.

The brothers grab each of my shoulders and Castiel links onto Sam.

"Firing mass transmat in 3, 2, 1, now," Ghost said.

In a flash of light, all four of us are transported out of the motel room.

The Winchester brothers, Castiel and I all arrive on my ship, the brothers are rapidly looking around and Castiel makes his way to the window.

"Welcome aboard The Dimension Hopper fellas," I say, gesturing around.

"Sam? Are we where I think we are?" Dean said.

"Y-yep," Sam said, behind Dean causing Dean to turn around and look out of the cockpit window.

"Holy crap Sam!" Dean said.

"Yep," Sam said, speechless.

"I mean holy crap!" Dean said.

"Ghost? Enter LEOP again please," I say.

The ship aims towards the sky and accelerates at full thrust with a deep, low rumble.

"Over here fellas," I say and wave the brothers over to the armoury.

The armoury doors open and inside are my collection of weapons I had when I died. I reach inside and take a shotgun and hand it to Sam.

"Here Sam, this is a standard issue Guardian shotgun, we name it "Toil and Trouble"; Standard 12-gauge shotgun shells will work with it, the weapon itself does all the work in the future, not the ammo," I say.

"You'll be covering our flank," I say.

I reach in again and grab a fusion rifle.

"Here Dean, this is a fusion rifle, fires eight bolts of super-heated plasma after a short charge, we name it "Critical Sass" because it doesn't take crap; It makes crap go away," I say with a chuckle.

"Do not throw away the magazines as they will recharge over a few minutes, you're close to mid-range so keep those bolts tight and anything in front of it will be kissing the sky," I say.

I reach in and grab a sword.

"And for you Castiel, this is a power sword, I know you can feel the power in this thing, and I don't even need to tell you how to work it, do I? This one's name is "Just in Case" as in "Just in Case" you need to cleave something in two," I say and take a step back and look at my three new friends.

"Well well well, you three almost look like actual Guardians. Those weapons are on loan until we wipe out the Hive, cool?" I say.

"Wow, I act very differently when I'm on a mission," I think to myself. Must be old habits coming back.

"Thank you, maybe now we can actually do something to them," Sam said.

Dean hasn't stopped examining the Fusion Rifle since I gave it to him.

Before anyone else can speak, the radio crackles alive.

"Hello Mex? Are you there?" Apple Bloom's voice comes over the speaker.

"Ohh, hang on, that's a call from home, talk amongst yourselves," I say, and head to the cockpit, Sam following me.

I pick up the receiver.

"Why hello Apple Bloom, how's my fellow crusader?" I say.

"Oh my gosh! Hi Mex! We couldn't wait to try this device out!" Apple Bloom said.

"We? Are the others there too?" I say.

"Uh-huh! Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are going crazy tryin' t' grab this off me to say hi," Apple Bloom said.

Sam is looking between the radio and myself while sitting in the co-pilot seat.

"Gimme that!" A new voice said.

"Hey! I was still talkin!" Apple Bloom said, earning a smile from me.

"Heya there Mex! I hope you're bein safe!" Applejack said.

I chuckle before responding.

"Hey Applejack, yeah I'm fine, haven't even been hit yet much less hurt!" I say with a chuckle.

"I've gotta keep it short y'all, still hunting down the problem in this world, I'll call when I'm done alright?" I say.

"Okay sugarcube, I'll let the others know yer A okay," Applejack said.

"Please do and save me some cider in case it takes me a while, Mex signing out," I say and hang up the receiver.

"Alright, I'm setting the ship to run a scan every few minutes in case they screw up and reveal themselves but it's not likely," I say, entering a command onto the console.

"It'll ping me if it finds anything," I say.

"Who was that on the radio?" Sam said.

"My new family, the Apples, the farm ponies I told you about?" I say with a smile.

"Ghost created a special radio that could communicate cross-dimension with me," I explained.

"Ohh right, right, I remember," Sam said.

"Ghost? Send us back down to where we were please, camo on," I say.

"Programming coordinates," Ghost replied.

"And while we're heading down, can you code those three in as guest users on those weapons?" I say.

"Already done," Ghost said.

"Oh! Whatever would I do without you Ghost?" I said in a genuine/joking tone.

"Here we go, beginning approach for transmat," Ghost said.

"Alright fellas, get ready to transport again," I say.

"Transmat firing in 3, 2, 1, now," Ghost said, as we all transmat to the ground outside of the motel room.

We land on the ground and hear the engines quickly recede into the sky, it's early morning. I look to the brothers.

"Alright, we combine my knowledge of the Hive with your local knowledge, and we check each possible spot. Sound good?" I say, making my way back inside.

"Yeah, sure, but first we need sleep cuz we're still human," Dean said with Sam agreeing.

"Ah, right, well, I'll go explore the area and see if I can't catch a whiff of Hive; Use this to contact me whenever you're ready to join me," I say and leave a comms device on the table.

"Push and hold to talk," I say.

"You don't sleep?" Sam said.

"No, I do, it's just where I came from, it's morning, so I woke up about two hours ago," I said.

"I will come with you, I don't need to sleep," Castiel said.

"Alright, let's go," I say.

Castiel and I are walking the streets of the town, waiting for Sam and Dean to wake.

"You seem distracted," Castiel said.

"Yeah, I've never seen what the Earth looked like, pre-golden age era," I say.

"What year did your golden age happen?" Castiel said.

"Uh, the golden age was sparked by the arrival of the Traveller, which was 2050, the golden age began a year later in 2051, why do you ask?" I say.

"Curious, in the many years I have existed, I have never heard of such a being in this universe," Castiel said.

"Yeah, the Traveller told me that it doesn't exist in every reality, in fact, there's only a small handful of versions of itself out there," I say.

"I see," Castiel said.

"What do the Hive seek out for their nests?" He asked.

"Something, cold, dark, damp and quiet," I reply.

Castiel's eyes narrow as he looks around, deep in thought. He abruptly walks up to a local.

"Excuse me, we're new to this area and we enjoy caving, are there any caves around this area?" Castiel said.

The stranger takes a moment to look us up and down and then shrugs.

"Not that I know of, but there could be some caves over in Lake Rockwell," The man said.

"Thank you," Castiel said.

"No problem," The man said and walked away.

"Okay well, if it's by a lake then damp would definitely be covered," I say.

"I think we have our first lead," I say.

"Let's ask another person," I say, and approach a woman who is pushing a small cart with four wheels along.

"Excuse me, ma'am? We're new to this area, do you know of any good caves to see?" I said.

"Hmm, well there's the Mary Campbell Caves down 58, just follow 58, it'll merge with Highway 8 and then take the Howe exit and follow the signs," The woman said, directing the answer mainly at Castiel.

"Thank you for your help," Castiel said.

"No problem," The woman said and left.

"Mex? Would the Hive travel 8.7 miles to build a nest?" Castiel said.

"If it meant avoiding detection yes, why?" I say.

"I believe we have our first and second lead," Castiel said.

"You know the distance off the top of your head like that?" I say.

"Yes," Castiel replies.

"Oh, I suppose if you've been around for that long," I say with a shrug.

"Say, while we wait for the brothers, do you know any good food places around here?" I say.

"I don't eat," Castiel said.

"Don't or can't?" I said.

"Don't" He replied.

"So, you can eat?" I say.

"Yes, technically, but I gain no benefit from it, aside from taste," Castiel said.

"Great! It's gonna be another hour or so before the brothers wake up so let's find something to "Taste" then," I said with a smirk.

An hour passes by and Castiel and I are at our table finishing off our drink when a man comes over and sits next to Castiel.

"What are you doing here Crowley?" Castiel said.

"Well, I happened to be in the area making a deal, when who do I see but my favourite cherub babysitting a kid; Of course, I had to come and see what was happening," Crowley said.

"Leave Crowley, we're already busy enough without you-" Castiel said before I interrupted him.

"Hello! I'm Mex, Crowley. Was it? How do you know Castiel?" I say.

"Stuff it short stuff, let the grownups talk," Crowley said, turning to face Castiel.

"Alright grandpa face mash, I'll let you talk with Castiel, I need another drink," I say and stand up.

"I- wha?" Crowley said, shocked at my quick response.

"That child you just insulted has enough power to vaporise us both, so I would invite you to shut up," Castiel said.

Crowley, shocked, pointed at me with a "Him? Really?" Sort of face.

"Yes," Castiel said.

"Huh; What is he?" Crowley said.

"Human," Castiel replied, just before I came back with another drink.

"So, kiddo, what are you exactly?" Crowley said.

"A soldier of a sort why do-" I say, being cut off with a blade coming from Crowley straight towards my stomach, I catch his wrist before he gets close.

I say nothing, just stare at him.

"Wow," Crowley said, my face turned to a scowl.

I squeeze harder and his face turns to pain.

"Ow, ow! Alright!" He said, dropping the knife.

"Bollocks he's human Cass," Crowley said.

"What do you want Crowley?" Castiel said.

"Nothing just wanted to annoy," Crowley replied.

Just then my radio perks up and it digitises onto my left ear.

"Mex here," I say.

Crowley jumps back a little in shock and stares at my earpiece.

"No problem, we're on our way now," I say. I tap the earpiece and it disappears.

"That was Dean, they're awake and ready to go," I say.

"You boys on a job?" Crowley said.

"Yes, now go away," Castiel said, standing to his feet after me.

"Want some help?" Crowley said.

"No thanks, you might try to stab us in the stomach," I say, leaving the restaurant with Castiel in tow.

After a few minutes of walking, we made it back to the motel and walked inside, the brothers were up and reading on a computer.

"Hey, where'd you two go?" Sam said.

"Scouting," Castiel said.

"What'd you find?" Dean said.

We tell the brothers about the two leads we have.

"You know these things more than any of us, where do you think they'd most likely go?" Sam said.

"I'd put my glimmer on the Mary Campbell Caves," I say.

"Glimmer? Never mind, alright that's where we'll go," Dean said.

"Oh here, take these," I say and hand them each a device.

"These are transponders for my ship, in an emergency, you can use these to transmat out in an instant; I'll have the ship hover on the edge of transmat range just in case," I say.

Just then, my radio activates again.

"Mex, my sensors have detected a cruiser class Hive vessel approaching Earth at a speed of 85,000 Light seconds per second, I expect they'll be here in no longer than 3 minutes," The computer said.

"Well, this changes things," I say.

"What is a cruiser class vessel?" Sam said.

"Planet landers, they use them to land thousands of Hive on a conquest world," I say.

"Luckily, my ship has enough armaments to wipe out a fleet of them and still have enough for an entire war," I say.

"Well, that's good, isn't it?" Sam said.

"Normally yeah, if I can catch them out in space, but because they're so close to Earth, all it takes is one of those seed pods to make it down and it's game over," I say.

"So, what then?" Castiel said.

"Ghost? Flag the ship to pick us up," I say as Ghost appears in front of us.

"I have a plan, my ship has multiple gunner seats that can be brought out in a pinch; You guys, are gonna help me destroy the seed pods after I destroy the cruiser," I say.

"This way, there's no enquiry into why there is a spaceship entering Earth's atmosphere," I say.

"Yeah, that'd probably be best," Sam said.

"Firing transmat in 3, 2, 1, now," Ghost said as we were all transported onto the ship which made its way back into orbit.

"Alright fellas, strap in fast, we've gotta get as far from Earth as we can to meet them," I say, hitting a few buttons to extend the seats.

The brothers quickly take their seats and examine the consoles.

"Computer, target lock on Hive contact and initiate supercruise," I say.

"Supercruise? W-what is that?" Dean said.

"Target lock, initiating supercruise in 3, 2, 1," The computer said, as the light began to warp a little outside of the window.

The brothers and Castiel look out at the window taking in all the sights.

"Now," The computer said as a roaring sound ripped through the ship for a moment and the ship jumped forward.

"Whoa," Dean said, shaking off the feeling of suddenly jumping beyond the speed of Light.

"What is Supercruise exactly?" Dean said.

"Supercruise is stage 1 FTL travel, useful for travelling between planets in a solar system, a warp drive takes you between star systems," I say.

"FTL? As in-" Sam said.

"Faster Than Light yes," I say.

"Of course, that's why the stars distorted," Sam said with a big smile.

"Did you say star systems?" Sam said, clearly nerding out a little but I don't say anything and just smile a little and nod.

"Okay, listen up," I say, turning my seat.

I explain the basics of firing the cannons on the consoles and walk the brothers through how to enable automatic targeting.

"We're dropping out of Supercruise in a moment, get ready," I say.

"Warning: Contact imminent in 3, 2, 1 now," The computer said.

Suddenly, the ship jerks forward and the sound of the engine cutting out rings throughout the ship.

"Weapons charged, target the Hive vessels engines in the first pass, we only have one shot to interdict them with a well-placed shot, now fire!" I say.

"Primary railgun firing..." The computer said.

A fast-moving bolt fires from the right side of the ship and strikes the rear of the Hive ship.

Dean has a big smile on his face, despite everything he's currently going through, he can't help but smile. Castiel looks confused.

Direct hit, interdiction successful," The computer said.

The Hive ship's engines disengage, and it drops from supercruise. It turns to face us.

"Target the bridge, fire all batteries," I say.

"Firing all batteries, primary target, bridge," The computer said.

As the barrage of armaments was on its way, the seeds began to dislodge.

"Seeders coming out, ready guys?" I say head coked to the back.

"Bring it!" Dean said.

The barrage hits seconds after being fired and strikes the main reactor, causing it to go critical.

"Wow these new weapons pack a punch," I think to myself.

"Time to go!" I say.

"Computer! Emergency Disengage! Get us to a safe distance!" I say.

The ship turns sharply and performs a small hop towards Earth, getting us to a safe distance just in time to see the cruiser explode in a bright green flash. We all wince from how bright the flash of the explosion was.

"All of the pods are taken care of; We blasted each one of those sons a bit-" Dean said before getting cut off by Sam giving him a head twist towards me.

"Uh, never mind, what about the ones on the ground?" Dean said.

"We're going there right now," I said, pointing the ship towards Earth.

After a short journey, we found ourselves approaching Mary Campbell Cave. I stand up after activating the auto-pilot and head towards the armoury.

"Ghost? Load up loadout 1 please, let's finish this," I say.

My armour activates and I shut my visor.

"Not ever gonna get used to seeing that," Dean said.

Receding ship engines lets us know the ship has disengaged to a safe distance, and we're ready to move forward.

"Smell that on the air?" I say.

"Yeah, we're gonna need some time here after all that," Sam said.

"You did this crap often?" Dean said, hands on his knees.

"Every day, now? Not so much, only when I'm needed," I reply.

Castiel steps forward.

"They're here, the same strange sense is back," he said, looking in the direction of the caves.

"Yeah, that slight musky smell on the air is classic Hive, we'll need to get closer for my visor radar to work," I say, looking at the group.

"Whenever you feel ready of course," I say with a smile.

"Yeah yeah, we're good now, let's go," Dean said, grabbing his fusion rifle.

"This way," I say, following the marker on my H.U.D.

After a short hike through the forest, we quickly found the entrance to the caves, I took a peak in.

"Yep, these conditions are perfect for the Hive, weapons hot," I say, looking at my extended fire team.

The brothers shoulder their weapons like pro shooters and Castiel draws the blade like a seasoned warrior. In a line, we all head down into the cave, hyper-alert to our surroundings.

We head deeper into the cave and find the classic signs of Hive activity, my radar pings as contacts have just gotten in range.

"Heads up, the Hive are up ahead," I say, pointing further down into the cave.

"How many?" Sam said.

"Lots," I say.

At the same moment, a loud screech is heard as Thrall and Acolytes spot us in the tunnel and charge.

"Weapons free!" I yell and open fire into the coming onslaught of Hive.

A thrall jumps at Sam but is obliterated by his shotgun, Dean charges a shot and unleashes it on four thralls at once. Castiel looks like a butcher, cutting everything down that isn't a friend.

After several minutes of nonstop combat, it's like I never left the Last City, but I'm here now to help save as many lives as I can and figure out how and why my enemies got here in the first place, that is my mission given to me by the Traveller himself.

"Keep firing!" I yell.

In no time, we had killed the current wave.

"Reload! There will be more to-" I say before getting interrupted.

"Mex! Cursed thrall beh-" Ghost said into my radio.

An explosion on my back. Before I knew it, I was back in the black empty that I had described to my friends all over again, I sighed.

Sam and Dean shield their eyes from the explosion, they can feel the heat of it right on their faces, Castiel squinted.

"What the hell was that?!" Dean said.

"Dean!" Sam said, kneeling over Mex's body.

Dean and Castiel came rushing over, Castiel put a hand on Mex's forehead and looked at the brothers with sadness.

"Dead," he said.

There was silence for a few moments when Ghost appeared from his chest area.

"Alright alright, stand back," he said as he began to spin faster and faster.

Ghost collapsed into itself for a moment and expanded in a flash of light, Mex sits up with a sharp breath and groans.

"I. Despise. Those. Dam. Things!" I say as I recover my gun.

My three new friends just stare at me, "shocked" doesn't give their faces justice.

"What, you just, you really do die a lot?!" Sam said.

"That should not be possible," Castiel said.

Dean just stared at me, unmoving.

"I told you, dying is part of the job, but it's more of an annoyance," I say, standing up.

"An annoyance?" Dean said, exasperated.

"Yeah, come on, we gotta keep moving to find big daddy badass," I say and continue through the nest.

Sam and Dean look at each other in shock and shake their heads as they reload their weapons.

"I'm getting several more radar pings further in," I say.

"And there it is; All by yourself huh?" I say to the Knight performing the ritual.

The Knight turns to face us, it draws a sword, burning in green flame and growls.

"Nothing gets out this time, crush all of them," I say to my new friends who ready their weapons.

I open the battle with a Nova Bomb, collapsing void energy into a single point and then unleashing it at the big boss, the bomb blows his armour off, and the void burns his skin. I finish up by drawing my sword, its void edge burning brightly as I ready to finish him off.

A cursed thrall approaches me but is stopped by Dean's quick shot with that fusion rifle, I felt the heat of the blast but only a little. I run into the knight's face and swing my sword, the Knight parries with his blade and we exchange blows for a moment when I cut its arm off.

I quickly follow up with a swift cleave to the neck and the Knight screeches out in defeat, disintegrating into the wind.

I look down at my chest and the knight has stabbed its sharp claws into my ribs. I sigh.

"Oh for-" I say, turning to face the group.

The group gasped and flinched in uneasiness.

"Ghost? Can you fix me up please?" I say.

Ghost appears in front of me and whirls on the spot, rapidly healing my wounds. Before everyone's eyes, my stab wound disappears in mere seconds.

Castiel, watches the light flow over my body, restoring it to prime shape.

"I can heal wounds but that..." Castiel said, scratching his head.

"We gotta start bringing you on hunts kid," Dean said, breathing heavily from the fight.

"About these weapons-" Sam said.

"No, you can't keep them," I said with a smile.

"Dam it," Sam whispered to Dean who nodded, also saddened.

"This thing is fantastic! It would dust most of the crap we deal with," Dean said, examining the fusion rifle again.

"Yeah, it's also far more advanced than any other weapon currently on this planet, really bad combo," I say.

"I agree the Winchesters shouldn't keep them, but I-" Castiel said.

"No, you can't keep it either," I said with a laugh. The brothers glared at Castiel with a sort of "Really?" face.

"Alright, let's destroy the nest and get out of here," I say, reaching for a demolition charge and placing it in the middle of the area. We all walk towards the entrance as I pull out the detonator, once we're at a safe distance, I hit the button, and a large explosion erupts behind us.

The job is done, we all climb out of the cave and smile at the darkening sky. I turn to face them.

"I'd like that drink now, if you don't mind," I say to Dean.

"Yeah, okay," Dean said.

"Ghost? Send the ship to pick us up please," I say.

"Copy that, transmat firing in 3, 2, 1, now," Ghost replied.

The ship having dropped us back at the motel quickly departs once again, the brothers and Castiel returning the loaned weapons back to my armoury with a lot of bargaining happening.

Dean takes three bottles out of the fridge and hands one to Sam and I. Sam looks at Dean with a quizzical look on his face.

"He's earned it," Dean said, getting an agreeing nod from Sam.

"What will you do now?" Castiel said.

"Go home, until I'm called out to the cosmos again," I say, taking a sip of beer. It was quite refreshing.

"How does that work exactly?" Dean said.

I shrug, not knowing the answer myself.

"Not sure, I just feel it, the call of a mission," I say.

Just then, there was a knock on the motel door and Castiel sighed.

"Don't answer that, it's Crowley," he said.

"Oh, come on! I just wanna talk!" We heard from the other side of the door."

Sam sighed and got up to open the door.

"What do you want Crowley?" Sam said. Getting out of the way for Crowley to enter.

"Hello Moose," Crowley said, entering the room and making eye contact with me.

"Oh, great, Mr. Stab Happy is here," I say with sass oozing from my voice.

"What?" Dean said.

"Never mind about that, listen, remember how I said I was in the area making deals?" Crowley said, facing Castiel.

"Yes, so what?" Castiel said.

"Well, it seems there may be a little beastie in this area and I, so gracious and kind, decided I could be of help," Crowley said.

"So, you're bringing us a hunt? You?" Sam said.

"Yes, and if I happen to get the chance to study your friend here then-" Crowley said, getting cut off by Dean.

"No," Dean said.

"Now hang on, this thing is killing people and isn't it one of your things to "Help people"? Crowley said.

Sam and Dean look at each other with heads shaking and eyes rolling.

"Where is it? This creature," I say, turning everyone's head.

"Mex, no," Castiel said.

"If this thing is hurting people, then I must help, where is it?" I say, looking at Crowley.

"And what if he is lying?" Sam said.

"Then I blow his head off," I said, unholstering my Ace of Spades.

Crowley laughs.

"You know most guns can't hurt me right?" he said.

"Hmm, pretty sure this one can," I say, and pull the hammer back.

"Yeah... that gun makes the Colt look like a pea shooter," Sam said.

Crowley's face changes to one of worry as he tries to examine it from where he is standing.

"Alright, I admit, I want to see what you're capable of and I'm not lying about the job," Crowley said, pointing at Sam.

The brothers chuckle and I holster my weapon.

"What are you that guns can't hurt you? You look like a regular human," I say.

"Crowley is a demon, a twisted soul from hell," Castiel said.

"I'm the King of the Crossroads! I'm more than just some twisted soul," Crowley said, offended.

"He's possessing some poor bastard from New York," Dean said.

"He" is right here you know," Crowley said, pointing to himself.

"Speak, what do you know of this monster?" Castiel said.

Crowley told us what he knew of the creature in the area and what he suspects it was. The brothers agreed and we began to get ready to hunt it down.

Author's Notes:

Whew! Chapter 2 is done! What a ride huh? Something I forgot to mention, is where in the Supernatural timeline this is happening. I decided to make it happen around mid-season 7. I don't wanna spoil anything for those who haven't seen the show but for those who have seen it, it's around that area.

The brothers take a break from... the main story... and decide to have a "normal" hunt. Alright, that's all, thanks everycreature! See ya at the conclusion of Arc 1!
