Synopsis: After being requested by Neptune for assistance to help her complete her final achievement at the Colosseum, Nepgear locks herself away in her lab to create the perfect disc. Uni, being curious as well, joins her friend on this quest for the perfect disc. What's the relationship between the discs and the Colosseum? To make the job easier for the lazy goddess.
After the defeat of the CPU of Tari and successfully saving both of Hyperdimension and Ultradimension, Nepgear thought that everyone would go back to a normal life, however...
Her sister Neptune didn't see things that way; for her, the adventure just had begun, and with a path opened between the two dimensions it had grown even bigger, her playground expanded, despite her supposed job as CPU.
She had explored every dungeon in depth, completed all the available quests in the Guild, gathered and completed all the plans, found all items in hidden blocks in the dungeons, and even maximized her Lily Rank with everyone.
Neptune wasn't ready yet to go back to her normal life because she hadn't accomplished everything in both worlds; by clearing the entire Colosseum, she had unlocked alongside Plutia in the other Planeptune.
One day she had the idea of the century, -the disk developer - the discs with all her idea chips she had obtained in her adventures, she never used them to burn a blank disk and eventually fell into oblivion.
Optimizing for the perfect disc, she visited her sister in who she always relied on to take care of her tasks when she needed it, if she managed to obtain such a creation from Nepgear, she was certain to finish the Colosseum effortlessly.
"Huh? Can you repeat, Sis?" Nepgear asked, her clothes covered in fuel and dust, as she worked in her lab with her weird machines that Neptune couldn't understand their purpose.
"You heard me, Nep. Jr. I want you to create for me the perfect disc," Neptune demanded with a determined look. "As it seems you've installed in your place a disc developer."
Nepgear stopped everything and pulled out her N-Gear, checking it over carefully before finding the page she wanted on her device. She then displayed it to her sister's eyes on the screen.
"So have you finally read all the advices that Histoire gave us?" Nepgear asked with a smile as Neptune was reading from the screen a page of 'Teach me Histy' about the disk developer.
"Of course this is not like I love reading countless pages of tutorials made by Histy, because I'm lazy not at all !" Neptune said with a smile, her voice filled with joyful irony. Her joyful expression and voice then quickly transformed into a stupid face and a tired voice, mimicking the thought of having to read through it.
"You should really take Histoire's advice, one day you'll find yourself in a situation where you'll be begging for her presence around you." Nepgear sighed in a voice filled with worry, and awkwardly smiled as a drop of sweat slid down her forehead.
"You are talking like I will be sucked into another dimension or presumed dead on another continent." Neptune responded in her unchanging stupid face, then she took back her normal face with a smile and added, "I'm a main character; I can't just disappear, so don't worry about me." She grabbed her sister's shoulders to reassure her.
"Really, you aren't going to leave me again?" Nepgear replied with a cracking voice, tears streaming down her face as she spoke, her gaze fixed on her sister's eyes, barely blinking. Neptune turned away she had again make her sister depressed.
"Man...she's still afraid of being left behind," Neptune said in an incomprehensible expression. "How lame." She spoke to herself before turning to her sister. "If you promise to get over it, I promise to spend a whole day with you, just between sisters." She offered in complete honesty, hoping to ease her sister's anxiety.
Nepgear listened intently to every word her sister spoke, each one sounding like a melodic tune to her ears. She thought she might have misheard her or been dreaming, as having a day alone with her sister sounded impossible, but after proceeding to be in reality, she jumped into Neptune's arms with happiness a bit too overwhelming for the girl.
The two sister fell down amidst the debris, clutchs and liquid on the floor, they were now sure to be soiled and change their clothes afterwards.
"Yes...Yes, I promise to not cry anymore, Neptune...Neptune," Nepgear said through tears of joy and hugged her sister tightly, causing her to struggle to breathe as Nepgear's grip was so strong.
"Nep.Jr, I am going to be out of breath at this rate." Neptune gasped for air as her sister dove into her arms and rubbed her head against her chest.
"Oh I am sorry, Sis," Nepgear replied as she released her grip on her sister, and got up to sit down beside her, "I just wanted to enjoy your company since it's rare for you to propose something like this." She continued in a blush of embarrassment, tapping her two fingers together with an awkward smile.
"Aww, it seems I am not going to retire with a clingy sister like you," Neptune responded with a smile, knowing she had several years as CPU to spend before being succeeded by her sister.
"Hihi, sorry, I just love you, Sis." Nepgear replied in giggles, a big smile visible on her face as she really loved being surrounded by her sister.
Later on, the two girls got up, and Neptune handed over all the blank discs she had obtained in exchange for medals and all the idea chips she had collected throughout the dungeon during their adventure.
As Nepgear disposed everything on the table, she classified all the materials by type, usefulness, and rarity; as she did, she was ready for a long session of burning these discs.
"So for when you need a perfect disc ?" Nepgear demanded, in a questioning look
"The sooner the better, and if you could get enough discs for a team of four, that would be perfect!" Neptune replied with a smile, genuinely excited about having such a hardworking sister to take over her duties.
"Are you going on another adventure?"the girl asked, grinning. "I thought you'd take a break after saving the world." The candidate, continued with a hint of desperation, as she held in her hand the first blank disk, ready to burn it with the combination of ideas she had come up with.
"No, I still haven't cleared the Colosseum with Plutie and the others from the other dimension," Neptune complained, her expression indicating she didn't want to train, preferring to pick the easy route to complete the Colosseum and earn all the rewards.
"The Colosseum? If I remember correctly from my experiences there, the shares can get upset if you clear all the fights too quickly." Nepgear warned her sister with a worried expression and sweat forming on her forehead as she thought about the possibility of a nation reaching the 0% share threshold.
"Aww, my dear sister, in the events of Rebirth 2, when you were the main character, you might have needed to respect a certain threshold of shares to get a happy ending," Neptune responded with an ironic face as if she had all knowledge in this world.
"But today it have no incidents since I got the right ending with only five items and by exploring random dungeons. The shares are only important during the plot-related events." Neptune said while embracing herself and fidgeting on the spot as she taught her sister something useful.
"Goodness! How irresponsible, childish, and unfair!" Nepgear exclaimed with a dumbfounded expression; she had gone through hell to defeat an evil deity, while her sister only needed five items and explored random dungeons to defeat an evil CPU. To her, it seemed like there was some favoritism at play in the world.
"Nepgear?" The childlike innocence stopped carrying away, as she saw her sister sitting on the floor and heard her begin a series of negative words.
"That so-called big sister is so lucky…how unfair," she blurted in a depressed tone as she lay on the ground, her knees clutched in one arm while she moved her fingers, drawing an invisible circle on the floor. The darkness seemed to surround her at this point; she could attract all the negativity in the world.
"Already down? And what about your promise? How pessimistic and susceptible are you?" Neptune said in disbelief while pulling face, the CPU was caught off-guard by her sister's mood swings.
"What promise, sister of mine?" Nepgear asked, her voice lifeless as she mustered even more darkness around her through her negativity, causing Neptune to wince in ridicule.
"Dang! I made my sister feel like she's less favored than me; she's broken." Neptune spoke to herself in shock as she saw her sister depressed over being treated this way.
"At least there's no longer a pop-up that gives her a useless ability," Neptune said with a smile, and thought of another way to cheer up her sister who was easily upset.
As she breathed in and out the girl began "Don't get too sappy, Nep.Jr.," Neptune said in a cheerful voice. "Without you, the world would have been destroyed a long time ago." She smiled as she spoke. Nepgear looked at her sister and stood up, listening carefully to her words.
"So don't worry; I am always counting on you, as I love you so much too." Neptune concluded positively, as she turned back to leave the lab to go to her room to nap until Nepgear finished her commission.
As Neptune left the room, Nepgear remained shocked by her sister's declaration, but soon her surprise was replaced by pure happiness; her sister had just told her that she relied on her and loved her.
"It's time to work," She said with a playful voice. "I mustn't disappoint her." Nepgear nodded her head, her eyes full of determination. A beautiful smile lit up her face, and her eyes burned with a fiery passion. Whatever was in the room, it could not help but notice the strength within her gaze.
Nepgear spent two days straight working on burning the ultimate disc; she aimed for one that would make her sister nearly invincible, but due to the restrictions placed on each disc, she couldn't include all the interesting idea chips she wanted on it.
She had to restart each time in order to achieve a satisfying result, even though she had obtained all the Sucky and Godly Games, she hadn't seen all the possibilities and effects they would provide once equipped.
The tinker girl really took Neptune's words to another entirely different level, and was so focused that she wouldn't notice if someone was calling her or sneaking up on her; she was like in her own dimension with the only goal to fulfill her sister's wish.
"Nepgear! Nepgear!!!" A voice pierced the silence where Nepgear was trapped, illuminating the darkness surrounding her. The pink-haired girl turned back to see her friend Uni calling her name in a strong voice.
"Huh? Uni? What are you doing here?" Nepgear asked in surprise, her mouth wide open as if she were about to speak. She hadn't expected her friend to show up so soon after a week of separation.
"Gah! Why do I always get greeted like this as if I wasn't supposed to be here?" Uni exclaimed in a wince, hurt in her pride and giving off an aura of depression.
"I'm sorry, Uni, but I always feel like you show up on my busiest days," Nepgear responded in a panicked expression as she fidgeted her hands in the air, trying to reassure her friend, but it had the opposite effect.
"Gah!" Uni blurted out another exclamation; she was expecting her friend to say, "Uni, I'm so happy to see you! How cute of you," but instead she got the coldest answer she had ever seen coming from the girl, and it hit her like a brick wall, causing her to lose her train of thought.
She came here because she was craving to see her friend and out of boredom too; the girl had so much fun with everyone during the treasure hunt, her concert idol with her sister, and all the other adventures afterward, including the threat of the CPU of Tari, aka Rei Ryghts.
Having spent so much time with Nepgear, the other Noire, and the others during that period, everyone returned to their routine lives. She quickly felt bored, as nobody was there to play with her anymore.
To alleviate her boredom, she found herself thinking about Nepgear for some reason. Each time she did, her heart rate increased and she felt butterflies in her stomach - a weird and warm sensation. The more she tried to distance herself from her, the more she suffered. She knew she absolutely had to be with her.
Her suffering was even worse during the time her friend stupidly got trapped in the other dimension; she believed being all alone, her only option was to wait for Nepgear's return. She didn't want to think about how she would react if Nepgear were trapped forever in another dimension.
The tsundere understood why she was acting that way towards her friend and even tried to tell her everything last week, but she was too shy and ended up giving hints to the dense girl who saw nothing.
"Uni? Are you okay?" The worried voice of Nepgear woke the girl up from her thoughts and she started to blush.
"O-of course, dummy! Don't be silly, I'm always okay!" Uni stammered in a panicked yet strong tone, without noticing how strong her voice sounded, which might have come off as a rebuke; as she looked away in embarrassment.
"Goodness...she must hate me to yell at me like that..." Nepgear whispered in a weak voice carrying guilt and sadness, closing her eyes before looking down and sighed as she was disappointed of herself.
Uni quickly looked back at her friend and gave an answer "N-no, no I would never hate you, I-I was just hoping for a better greeting from you." Her tone was filled with panic as the tsundere couldn't stop to agitate herself to explain.
She thought about what she had said and blushed as Nepgear looked up at her with a grin. "I-I mean, sorry if I offended you, but you kinda asked for it!" She tried to correct herself in a high-pitched voice and a cocky yet awkward smile.
Nepgear chuckled upon seeing and hearing her friend so agitated. "I am sorry too; I simply didn't expect to see you so soon after a week. I am happy to see you, though. It's cute of you." The girl responded as her smile grew brighter and bigger.
Her words hit straight through the tsundere's heart like an arrow; she somehow loved it when Nepgear called her cute, it made her feel special every time she did.
"I am happy to see you too," Uni said embarrassingly as her face turned red; she soon calmed herself and returned to a normal state, hoping for a normal conversation with her friend.
"So I guess you are busy today as you said earlier, but what are you doing?" Uni asked inquisitively, crossing her arms as Nepgear got excited by her question.
"Neptune submitted me a request, so I am working on burning the perfect disc for her as she demanded." Nepgear bluntly explained, with enthusiasm in her voice, the activity she was doing was really entertaining to her eyes.
"Of course, it would be because of your mecha thing or for your sister, you've been stuck here for two days," Uni muttered through gritted teeth with a hint of annoyance and jealousy, letting each word incomprehensible to the head of the pink-haired girl.
"Pardon me, but what did you say?" Nepgear asked as her smile grew smaller and her face turned into a panicked one as she heard Uni rumble out some words in a garbled mess.
"I-I mean, you're burning discs to create games for Neptune?" Uni corrected herself as she darted a glance at the collection of discs that seemed to be available for use behind her friend on the table.
"Goodness! You too? It seems that feature is useless for the plot ! "Nepgear exclaimed in surprise as she thought that Uni would remember those equipment that they used during their last adventure as the main protagonists.
"S-Sorry if I have a memory of a dogoo!", Uni apologized in a frustrated look with a blush and sweat on her face; she was embarrassed and felt ashamed since Nepgear still remembered something she didn't.
"Don't worry," Nepgear reassured as she tried to calm her tsundere friend. "I imagine it's simply something forgettable; Sis probably brought it up because it was lying around her belongings." She conceded honestly, knowing that her sister always remembered things only when they benefited her own interests.
"Basically, those discs, after being burned with some idea chips, can provide various useful effects to the user who equips them during a fight," Nepgear explained with a bright smile, her enthusiasm radiating as an excited aura emanated from her.
Nepgear then began her explanation, explaining about the Sucky Games' negative effects compared to the Godly Game's positive effects; the pink-haired girl was really passionate and inspiring, causing Uni to be impressed, sparking stars of admiration in her eyes.
She was so convincing with her words that she triggered the craving of doing the same things as her in Uni's mind; the black-haired girl was totally dragged into Nepgear's enthusiasm.
Seeing how Uni was concentrating on her, the passionate girl wanted to ask something a bit embarrassing she had been thinking about for some time; perhaps she would reject it since they were only two in the room.
"So, um...I was wondering if you'd like to join me?" Nepgear shyly asked as she softly grinned with an uncertain look, her cheeks flushing and her leg fidgeting due to her nervousness.
"W-why are you asking me?!" Uni exclaimed in a stutter, totally blushing from her demand as she looked at her and her gesture she turned away and was totally lost on thoughts.
Her thoughts were on how could she be so cute when she demanded something so shyly? Her mind was clouded by the way Nepgear acted; was it love or just embarrassment? Did she had the same feeling for her ?
No, it was probably impossible. Nepgear acted as she usually did; because she loved that girl in front of her, she couldn't tell the difference between an embarrassing situation and true love through people's gestures.
"I'm sure you will have fun," Nepgear responded in a certain voice, "and besides, you can give one of the discs you burn to Noire." As she said, Uni returned to the real world finally leaving her mind behind and drawing her attention back onto the girl.
"I can't help it..." Uni muttered as she watched the innocent expression on her friend's face. "I guess, I can let myself to accept." She smiled as she looked behind her friend; all the materials were ready for them to work. She knew she couldn't refuse Nepgear and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get closer to her.
Upon hearing her positive response, a feeling of pure joy coursed through Nepgear's body, causing her to joyfully exclaim, "Yeah! You're the best, Uni!" She quickly grabbed Uni for a hug, which left the tsundere character flustered by her unexpected action.
"W-what in the...?" Uni sighed in embarrassment. "Do you really need to jump on everyone who accepts to be with you?" she asked, her cheeks flushing and her heart racing; abandoning her second nature, she hugged back the girl, wanting to feel and enjoy her warmth.
As they were now on the project of the ultimate disc in all time, Nepgear and Uni fixed an exact hour for their reunion in the lab; as they reunited themselves, they burned a lot of discs, no matter if they were normal ones or Goldy or Sucky Games.
Despite their enjoyment, Nepgear was not satisfied, as none of them were worthy enough for her sister. She planned to make her life more comfortable by burning the disc she wanted, but soon she realized they were running out of idea chips to continue.
"Goodness! We are running out of idea chips! How did that happen?!" Nepgear exclaimed in a dumbfounded manner, as she had no clue as to what or who was responsible for it.
"Gah! Are you dumb? You're the one responsible for their lack of stock!" Uni responded as she overlapped with the expression on her friend's face.
"Really? How is that possible with the limited amount of discs we have?" The goddess asked as she looked at the discs on the table and then down to the missing stock of idea chips, still not understanding how it was possible.
"Ha! How many times did you have to burn those discs before blanking out them again to burn them over and over because you weren't satisfied?" Uni said with the same face as before in a cocky tone, pointing out Nepgear's stupidity. She tried to show off a superior mind to her friend, despite her face not matching at all to her situation.
"You've burned countless discs; your idea chips were bound to burn too." Uni continued and tried to sneak in a joke with the double meaning of the words.
"I can't let you win..." Nepgear said with a sneer, a point of spark in her eyes. "You're just as responsible as me for draining the stock of the idea chips, especially the Near Future, Tsundere, Shooter, Love and Yuriyuri ones, are planning to confess to someone ?." She stated with a vengeful smile and a more serious expression, causing Uni to suddenly lose her composure and redden immediately afterwards.
"Gah! There's no meaning in my choices; I could say the same for you with the Robot, Adventure, and Drill options. Are you perhaps dreaming of becoming a robot?" she countered, hoping to catch her friend off guard, but the excited one's eyes shone brighter than ever at the thought of that dream.
"Great, I've lost her; how are we supposed to finish now?" The tsundere complained in sigh as she tried to wake up her friend by clinking her fingers in front of her eyes, which had slowly brought her back into reality.
"Sorry Uni, your supposition made me dream of what my life could have been if I were born as a robot," the lover-mecha said with a smug smile, as if she had reached enlightenment's pinnacle; a soft, almost ethereal glow surrounded her head.
"Gah! What on earth?! You are already a goddess, so don't join the angels in heaven!" Uni exclaimed in panic, with a distorted face, as she was certain of seeing the girl floating in the air due to her stupid state of ecstasy and could see little angels turning around her head.
"What are you talking about?!" Nepgear responded with an ignoring look. "I think your imagination is greater than mine." She grinned in giggle by seeing the face that the panicked one was wearing.
"Even so, your imagination is worst than mine..." the black-haired girl replied with a sigh. "Anyway, what are we going to do? I guess you won't abandon your sister's request." Uni continued in a more composed tone, her eyes searching for answers as she saw Nepgear holding two discs on the table.
"Catch it, Uni !" The girl tossed a disc on the tsundere, which successfully grabbed thanks to the slowness of the throw she had a questioning look.
"Why are you giving me this?" she questioned, with a stupid yet adorable expression as she glanced at the item she received.
"Idiot~" Nepgear hummed in a adorable voice as she stared at the girl with lovely eyes. "We're going to fill the stock and take the opportunity to test our two discs in real combat against monsters." She continued in a gentle tone, pointing out the lack of idea chips to pursue their project.
"Gah!" Uni let out once again, "Y-You are going to drag me into dungeons?" she stuttered in blush, as she was called "idiot" by the cutest way, as Nepgear nodded her head with a cute smile on her face, at the expense of the tsundere's poor heart which struggled to handle such a kindness.
"Just the two of us," the girl mumbled as she turned away, trying to keep her nervousness to herself. A smile slowly appeared on her face.
"Uni?" The fellow goddess called, as she regarded her friend's strange behavior and observed her friend looking back at her with a smile.
"Fine, I am coming," Uni replied with a smile still on her face, her cheeks slightly burning. "I wanted some fresh air, regardless." she concluded, ready to go out with Nepgear, at which point, due to her shyness, she viewed every outing with the girl as a date.
Nepgear accompanied by Uni went on dungeons with the purpose of regaining some Idea Chips and testing the discs that the pink-haired girl had burned.
As they headed toward the first dungeon designated by Nepgear, Uni immediately recognized the environment as being located near Planeptune. Both entered the dungeon with a sense of nostalgia for the goddess of Planeptune.
The two girls stopped walking as Nepgear pulled out her N-Gear to analyze the area using the map and all the data she had collected from her numerous visits here.
As Uni felt the presence of the monsters here, which were much weaker than herself, she started wondering why her friend had chosen this dungeon, which was meant for beginners.
"Nepgear, why have you chosen the Virtual Forest? There's nothing interesting here," Uni demanded in a questioning look, as if she couldn't understand.
"Because a lot of treasure has apparently appeared again," Nepgear responded as she marked the locations of each item found on her device, spotting them all on the map.
"Treasures ? In this dungeon ?" The tsundere asked in surprise.
"Yeah...I don't know why they reappear, but we can't complain." Nepgear replied curiously, though she didn't want to dwell on the subject as it wasn't helpful to their objective.
"Besides, we should see that as a tutorial to revisit the basics," she said as she put away in her pocket her N-Gear, and glanced at her friend with a grin.
"Ahh...You always have a reason for everything, huh?" Uni lightly sighed and smiled at her friend's behavior as she equipped the disc that had been given to her.
"Let's go!" Nepgear exclaimed enthusiastically as she also equipped her disc, having also received a boost as soon as she equipped it; the two of them then set off on their exploration.
As stated by Nepgear, the entire area had new treasures that had popped up mysteriously. Both of them delved deeper into the dungeon, following all the marked points on the map. After a while, they managed to collect all the items available in the location as in weapons, healing items, and more importantly, a few idea chips.
Despite having collected a great deal of items, Nepgear remained unsatisfied and drove the tsundere with her to the other dungeons she planned to visit next, in each dungeon cleared and items gained; their adventures slowly leading them into the Ultradimension.
As Uni started to feel tired, she tried to demand her inexhaustible friend to rest or at least to slow down as they were heading to the Extra-Dimensional Space dungeon from the Ultradimension.
During their journey, the tsundere experienced the effects of her disc, becoming immune to ailments inflicted by foes, more resistant to physical attacks and having a greater chance than her friend to receive items dropped by enemies.
It wasn't a Godly Game like she thought Nepgear would give her; but at least, it worked and helped her in her own benefit. However, she was a bit jealous, wondering if her friend had been keeping all the Godly Games for Neptune.
"Can we take a break?" Uni asked as she stood at the entrance of the dungeon to ward off enemies. "I am really feeling tired," she continued. "It feels like we've been out here for hours." Tiredly, she could not conceal her exhaustion as she yawned and beads of sweat were visible on her face.
She had never considered how long they had been working inside the dungeon since the beginning of their adventure. She was in any case happy that her trip was that long with the girl, despite her weariness; the goddess next to her seemed strangely inexhaustible.
"But it's only been three hours and this is our fifth dungeon of the day," Nepgear innocently responded, not having any sign of fatigue on her face.
"Gah! How come you don't have a single drop of sweat on your face? Exploring dungeons must be easy for you, right?" The tsundere exclaimed spontaneously in an idiotic manner, not even having an idea about the endurance of Nepgear.
Before adding anything else, Nepgear placed a cold drink on the tsundere's neck, cooling her hot temper.
"How cold ! What is this?" Uni exclaimed as she grabbed the drink firmly in her hand, realizing it was a beverage.
"It's a Nep Bull, and don't worry, Uni. This is the last dungeon we are going to do for today; I wouldn't want to see you faint." The girl smiled softly, assuring Uni that she wouldn't let her fall into such a state by her own fault.
"Thank you." The black-haired girl whispered in blush as she drank the beverage, allowing her to recover a bit from her fatigue; she was somehow happy that Nepgear wanted to stop adventuring just for her.
"I don't want to force you if you're tired; stay here until I finish here," Nepgear said in a worried voice as she saw Uni down her beverage in one shot.
"N-no, I will come; I simply can't let you go ahead of me," Uni stammered as her voice grew stronger and more confident.
"You are sure ? You really can rest if you need so..." Nepgear proposed as she got closer of Uni with a face of pure attention on her insisting on her safety first.
"O-Of course, you will need help as the monsters seem tough here. Furthermore, I want to see the effects of the disc you've equipped." Uni immediately exclaimed as she blushed upon seeing her friend's face too close to hers.
"In that case, let's go!" the girl cheerfully said as she started running around and jumping everywhere while exclaiming, "Jump!"
"Gah! Why does that girl always shout 'Jump!' while leaping everywhere like that?" The tsundere exclaimed while running after her, nosebleed and out of breath from trying to catch up to her. She had seen what was under her skirt during her high jumps.
Nepgear's aim by leaping everywhere was to reveal the presence of hidden blocks in the dungeons in hopes of finding rare items like idea chips or weapons for the pleasure of the tsundere, who seemed really focused on her friend's labor.
However, having her mind filled by the pink-haired girl, Uni lost sight of her friend as she took a warp zone to teleport to another part of the dungeon. Now, Uni was alone as she regained her normal state.
"What the...How did I manage to lose her? I was right behind her all along!" Uni yelled as her voice echoed through the futuristic-looking dungeon. She had pushed her luck too far by taking pleasure in being a pervert to Nepgear; she now had a frustrated expression on her face.
The loner now had the duty to find her friend, knowing she was surely wandering around the dungeon, either collecting all items or maybe fighting a strong monster for its loot or testing her skills and equipment against it.
As she was running around the dungeon taking care to avoid all monster to prevent losing precious time, she heard noise, a noise fight, it was a sword sound fighting against something.
"Divine Art: Celestial Severance!" A voice yelled, and Uni immediately ran towards the source of the sound, following the direction of the voice which came from the Purple Sister. The tsundere was worried as it seemed the monster she was fighting was forcing her to use her strongest move.
As Uni was on her way, she could hear all the hits landed by the Purple Sister, the monster had surely no chance of survival, as she arrived at the scene she saw her friend, exhausted from using her skills against the Cerberus, which had managed to survive with numerous wounds on its body.
"That dummy won't make it at this rate; I'll have to...," Uni began as she prepared to help Nepgear in the fight. However, before she could finish, Uni saw the girl turn her HDD off on purpose.
"Processor unit set!" A tired Nepgear shouted, transforming into Purple Sister while Uni on the other hand didn't understand her reasoning behind it.
"What on earth? So this is her disc effect? How useful..." Uni let out in admiration as Nepgear transformed back into her full form; nothing had happened to her, her energy was replenished.
"Mirage Dance!" Purple Sister shouted as she finished off the tough wolf in a graceful dance, landing her attack perfectly and effectively.
As the fight was over, the girl turned into her human form as always in shape, she quickly noticed Uni who had been observing her in great detail.
"Where were you? I lost you during our harvest," Nepgear asked in an innocently yet slightly worried voice as she smiled at the girl, relieved to see her again.
"I should be the one to ask this! Besides, I think I understand the use of your disc; do you mind explaining it to me?" Uni required in a overbearing tone as her face was serious without a drop of embarrassment or anxiety.
"You remember when you said I always use the drill idea chips? I don't know if you have read the effects, but when a CPU turns the HDD on while equipping it, it gives them back all of their energy and it seems it can be spammed indefinitely during fights." Nepgear explained in a passionate tone; she hadn't equipped any Godly Game items either, but the effect from one idea chip was the most useful for tough fights.
"If it is that strong why didn't you gave us them during the time of the Deity of Sin ? We could have avoided a lot of trouble and easily handle that problem back then." The tsundere stated in her surprise, she had a look of frustration but excited as they never had the idea to use it.
"Besides, why didn't you give me the same disc? We could have been an invincible duo, even greater than our sister." Uni continued as she approached her friend even closer, making her feel like she was being crushed by an anvil as the tsundere's behavior became too invasive.
"We could train together, and you can even go all out on me with your fists without the fear of hurting me," Uni said, blushing and smiling with a big grin, accompanied by a look in her eyes that suggested she was high off the sensation of being hit by her strong friend in front of her.
"Goodness! You're being macho again!" Nepgear exclaimed with a dumbfounded look on her face, letting a drop of sweat roll down her forehead; her friend had just exposed her own masochistic tendencies by simply imagining it.
"Uni... you're so perverted," Nepgear whispered audibly, making a face of embarrassment as strange thoughts started to pop into her mind.
"I-I said nothing at all, forget about it, and explain the reason for your actions!" The masochistic girl ordered as she tried to not make her embarrassed friend dwell on her desires.
"I've never really thought of it, and it seems unfair to the opponent," the tinker Girl replied in a calm voice, bringing the conversation back to the original topic. She was indeed curious about all the interesting effects the discs could give her, but...
"What do you mean ?" the girl demanded, inquisitively as crossed her arms in waiting of awnser from her friend.
"Imagine if all CPUs had such a disc with the immunity ailments effect, they would be totally unbeatable as not only we would heal with the Drill effect without passing our turn in fighting and being able to spamming our strongest moves because of it, it's pretty unfair." Nepgear sadly concluded for her part at that point it was most likely cheating than actual skill.
"Moreover I think our sisters wouldn't like to see us getting stronger with such a method" The girl added in a totally honest manner.
"You're right, I have to surpass both you and my sister on my own." Uni stated in determination, but quickly a terrible smell wafted towards the pink-haired girl's nose from the tsundere.
"Uni... You stink," Nepgear said as she had a terrible smell in her nose since she was really close to her.
"W-wait what!? You too must stink after jumping around in this dungeon!" The girl exclaimed, her face reddening as she stepped back from her friend. She was ashamed, and she could tell by the look on her friend's face that she was feeling the same way. They had both worked hard and sweat through their adventure; it was an unavoidable outcome.
"Hehe sure I do stink too, but I have an idea." Nepgear quickly regained her usual face as she looked at Uni closely and a smile started to form on her face.
"Which is ?" She demanded as she had a bad feeling about how the conversation went by seeing how her friend was smilling.
"We should take a bath together!" Nepgear bluntly responded with a smile on her face, completely shameless of her statement.
"What!?" Uni screamed in a strong voice as she was nearly deafened by the noise before her eyes.
"Does it bother you? We totally deserved a rest and you already had taken a bath with us before the fight against the Deity of Sin, so no need to be ashamed..." The naive girl responded with a completely lost expression; she didn't know why Uni acted so impulsively.
"M-Maybe but it was with everyone else in the hot springs! Here we are just two in the bath!" Uni stuttered, imagining the naked body of the girl she loved in the bath with her.
"How shy of you, this is not like you were going to take a bath with a boy; we are just between girls here," she said before taking Uni's hand and pulling her out of the dungeon, towards the bathroom in their home.
"W-what are you doing?! Let go of my hand!" Uni begged in a flustered voice. Nepgear tightened her grip on Uni's hand, almost dragging her along the ground; Uni couldn't believe it—she didn't have a clue about her feelings for her. Nepgear was too dense.
"Don't be shy, I can even help you grow your boobies if you still feel embarrassed about their size," Nepgear giggled innocently. "I will take care of you." As she hurried them onward to home, singing and humming happily while Uni struggled to defend her position that her chest wasn't shrinking or anything else.
At least despite her embarrassment Uni spent a great time in bath with Nepgear, she was feeling like the luckiest girl in world to be so private with that dense girl who hadn't notice anything strange in her behavior.
After finishing their collect of items, both girls took a well-deserved rest, and the following days, Uni and Nepgear returned to their workshop; however, the pink-haired one noticed that four of the disks they had created had mysteriously vanished while they were away.
But she didn't mind their absence on the table, and this time she decided to not waste all their data by burning multiple discs; only the requested ones were required. So, Nepgear went to the Godly Games for a team of four.
One day, while Nepgear and Uni were working, they received an unexpected visit from two guests in the midst of their labor.
"Neppy.Jr and Uni, it's been so long since we last saw each other," a groggy voice called out to them, drawing their attention as it revealed Plutia with Neptune, the two girls seeming to be carrying a lot of souvenirs.
"Miss Plutia and Sis it's been a long time we didn't meet" Nepgear joyfully greeted the two girls with a smile.
"Yeah, even though you could have come in a day earlier," Uni grumbled in cold voice as she hid a disc she was secretly burning for the pink-haired girl.
"Brr...Mini Noire is getting as cold as our Noires, Plutie." Neptune responded as she feigned to catch cold by embracing herself with the object she was holding.
"Dooes that mean she is a future loner ?" Plutia replied in a slow voice as she looked at her with an inquisitive look.
"Yeah, it's the feeling I got if she becomes the next CPU of Lastation. I am worried about the future of my sister." The childish goddess continued in teasing the poor tsundere in smug face.
"Hey! I'm not a loner; I have more friends than my sister," Uni defended while meanwhile in the Basilicom of Lastation, "Argh !" Noire suddenly felt her pride wounded.
"Sharp as Noire too ?" Neptune said in a sumg face, it was so funny for her to tease such cute tsunderes.
"Really...Uni will give up on me in the future," Nepgear mumbled in a depressed voice, halfway on the table as she recited inaudible series of negative words. Neptune's words struck her sister like a critical hit on her mental health.
"Gah! When did Nepgear become a master of negativity?" The tsundere growled at Neptune as she looked at her depressed friend and felt guilty.
"Let me think...," the sleepy goddess said as she looked up to think about it. "Oooh, I remember now. She mastered it after Neppy let her down just after her first coming into my world." She responded in a sleepy tone as she looked back at the girl.
"You did what?!" Uni shouted as she pointed at Neptune with her finger. "It's really irresponsible of you to have done it." Her anger was evident in her voice; how could Nepgear could still love someone who abandoned her? Neptune should be feeling lucky to have such a gentle girl by his side - it was her thought.
"Aww, don't look at me with those eyes; I already apologized for that." The childish girl said in a silly face. It was from the past, so why bring it up again?
"Nevermind," Uni said as she turned to Nepgear who was still in the same position and state, "Nepgear." She called out to the girl who looked at her.
"What do you need, my friend? Are you planning on abandoning me?" The girl asked as her depressive aura grew stronger.
"Gah! This is worse than I thought." The black-haired girl exclaimed as Nepgear seemed to have developed a fear of abandonment due to her sister's absence.
"Don't listen to that girl," Uni said. "I would never do that. If you stop being so depressed, I promise to invite you out next week." Uni immediately made a promise sweeter than she had ever made before. She didn't want the girl to think she would let her down.
"Really? You promise?" Nepgear asked as she stood up next to Uni with a small face.
"I-I promise," the girl said in stutter as she turned away in embarrassment.
"Thank you, it's really cute." The girl joyfully responded in a small blush, her grin becoming even brighter.
"Man, they looks like they are going to engage in relationship" Neptune mumbled for herself, let out a little smile of happiness for her sister.
"So, it's cute and everything, but we didn't come here for this topic." Plutia yawned, drawing everyone's attention to her; the item she was holding began to feel a little heavy and was starting to numb her arms.
"Sorry for this spectacle, I imagine you've come to claim your discs ?" Nepgear supposed as she realized she had taken to much time in burning discs, she was having fun with Uni by her side.
"Nah ! We are here to share with you some rewards from the Colosseum and give back the discs we've taken during your absence since we have cleared it with Noire, Blanc, Vert and also Peashy from the other dimension." Neptune enthusiastically responded as she handed out the items she earned in addition to returning the discs she had stolen from the lab.
"Really ? It means you were the responsible for the disparition of the four disc, you could have demanded me..." The CPU candidate said in a sigh as she put all the items on the table.
"D-Do you mind telling what kind of game discs you had to complete the Colosseum so quickly?" Uni asked as she took the items from Plutia and put them on the table.
"As I recall, Neppy said we couldn't ever get tired by constantly transforming into our HDD form, which worked out well since we were able to defeat every monster by using our strongest moves continuously." Putia spoke in a drowsy tone, causing her explanation to drag on, while everyone stared at Neptune.
"Gah! What did you say before that your sister wouldn't use such an easy method to win?" Uni ironically asked as she pulled an idiotic face, pointing out Neptune's laziness in choosing such a cheating disc.
"Ah, to say we've created an RPG, FPS, and Mecha Game Disc, which are called 'Godly Games,'" Nepgear said. "But she preferred those 'cheating' games." She sighed in disappointment as her sister had only chosen the discs she had burned with the Drill Idea Chip.
Aww, Nep.Jr., don't mind it; it's thanks to you we've managed to complete everything," the goddess reassured her sister with a soft, proud smile. When she said "perfect disc," she meant a easy way to win.
"Thank you, I guess," her sister replied with an awkward smile, while Uni looked at her seemly in her thoughts.
"This isn't much, but I am getting tired," Plutia said as she yawned from her exhausting battles in the Colosseum.
"Yeah me too," Neptune yawned. "So let's go take a nap!" the girl proposed hurried to leave to her room.
"What a great idea! Let's go", they both exclaimed as soon as they finished their conversation. The two tired girls left the lab, leaving the two young girls behind them.
"Goodness...they are going back to their occupations now." Nepgear sighed, knowing that nobody would surely need her anymore since her work was now finished.
"I will also leave as your request is finished, besides I also have a disc for Noire, see you next week in my nation." The tsundere grinned as she took two discs with, one complete and the other one still blank, it seemed like she had some other idea of gift for someone else as she looked at Nepgear in a blush before turning back on her way to leave.
She said with a smile "I really had fun with you." The tsundere corrected herself "I mean, I'll see you soon." Embarrassed, she ran off.
"I see you soon too Uni !" Nepgear joyfully replied with a smile, as saw her friend getting out of her sight.
Nepgear had spent so much time with Uni despite their adventures to burn disc just for Neptune to cheat, but she was thinking about whether or not she could improve the system of disc developer on yet another level.
If she could enhance it, and created some new type of game disc it would be either risky or benefic, with a new idea in mind she was fired up and Uni would certainly the first to see that.
With different goals in mind, Uni and Nepgear were eager to see each other so they could show off what they had been working on.
