1 September
The last two weeks before school went by faster that you can say 'quidditch'. Hermione had talked to her parents and came to live with Harry for those weeks. They remained in touch with Luna. Today was the day they would be going back to Hogwarts.
Harry Potter was woken up at half past seven by a bucket of ice dropped on him. He cursed and got his wand out before looking around and saw Sirius and Hermione snickering. He sent them a glare before getting up, brushing, taking a shower, wearing muggle clothes and trying to make his raven hair lay flat (unsuccessfully so).
Pocketing his trunk, he went to the dining room and began buttering his toast when he saw the pair who had disturbed his beauty sleep walking down the stairs. He smirked before summoning a snake and told her to only scare the two, being specific not to harm them.
Sirius and Hermione were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn't notice anything until the snake wound herself around Sirius's torso, making him let out a girly shriek. The snake, who was now called Scales, playfully snapped at the grim animagus before proceeding towards the Ravenclaw founder.
She took a step back before yelling, "HARRY JAMES POTTER! CALL THE SNAKE BACK BEFORE I HEX YOU INTO THE NEXT CENTURY!"
Harry collapsed from his seat laughing so hard at the fruitless threat and the expressions and reaction of the two that it left him in stitches. When he finally got a hold of himself, he called Scales back, who obediently came back and wrapped around Harry's arm.
"Harry, I didn't know that you were a parselmouth..." Sirius said once he realised it.
"Yeah well, I am. I found out last year. Professor Dumbledore said that the night Voldemort attacked me and my parents in Godric's Hollow, he transferred some of his powers into me," Harry said with a shrug. Sirius nodded and they left in a muggle car after breakfast.
They arrived at King's cross with an hour and a half to spare. Carrying their pets in their cages, they walked towards the barrier between platforms nine and ten. Being as inconspicuous as possible, they entered the magical platform with a scarlet steam engine. Smoke from the engine drifted over the heads of the small chattering crowd, while cats of every color wound here and there between their legs. Owls hooted to one another in a disgruntled sort of way over the babble and the scraping of heavy trunks. The first few carriages were already filled with a handful of students, some hanging out of the window to talk to their families, some fighting over seats. Harry pushed his cart off down the platform in search of an empty seat along with Hermione.
While walking down the platform, he passed the very person he needed to find. Neville Longbottom. Harry nudged Hermione and she nodded at him, following his gaze. Since they had their luggage in their pockets, Hedwig already sent to Hogwarts, they were able to freely walk around.
"Hey Neville!" Harry called out cheerfully.
"Harry! Hermione!" He walked over to his friend as his grandmother watched him with a small smile on her face. He finally had friends.
"Hello Neville, I hope you had an enjoyable summer." Hermione greeted.
"Yes, I did. Guys meet my Gran. Gran, these are my friends, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger."
"It is a pleasure to meet you Lady Longbottom," Harry and Hermione said in unison.
"It good to meet you too. Neville speaks a lot about you," Augusta Longbottom replied with a polite smile.
"Hello Lady Longbottom. Long time, no see," Sirius said with a grin.
"Sirius! Good to see you again. And call me Augusta. How many times have I told you."
While the adults began talking, the three teens found their way into the train and into an empty compartment.
"Neville, I have a tiny present for you," Harry said, taking out the Gryffindor wand.
"A present? What?"
"Here."
And they were right to assume the identity of their fourth friend. Godric Gryffindor was Neville Longbottom.
"Ugh. That reunion with my wand was a bit painful for my head. Good to see you again after a millennium, Sal and...?"
"Rowena Ravenclaw at your service," Hermione did a mock bow.
"Good. What's up with Puff?"
"We found her. Luna Lovegood, Ravenclaw, second year," Harry declared.
"That's great."
"We will keep an eye out for when she enters." And the boys stepped out of the train again and began talking. Hermione being Hermione, took a book and began reading.
About forty five minutes later Luna came through the barrier. They spotted her at once and called out to her.
"Hey Luna! Right here."
"Hey Harry, hey Neville."
"Luna I was right. Meet one Godric Gryffindor," Harry said in a whisper once she reached them.
"Cool. Hey Ric."
"Hey Puff."
They were talking about how things were in the past and how much difference and progress has been made when they heard someone call Harry and Neville.
With the Weasleys
After the trip to Diagon alley, they found out about Pettigrew being Scabbers and Sirius being innocent. They were shocked. They understood that Harry would want to spend time with his godfather so they didn't have him in the burrow, though Ron wrote to him thrice a week in the least.
Today was the day five of the Weasley kids had to return to Hogwarts to begin a new year of education. They left their house through the floo network which was directly opening at platform nine and three quarters. Mr. Weasley came through first, followed by Percy, Ron, Ginny, Fred, George and Mrs. Weasley. When they stepped through the floo, Ron spotted Harry and Neville talking with a blonde girl animatedly about something.
"Hey mate! Harry! Neville!" Ron called out.
"Hey Ron!" Harry called back.
Ron and Ginny walked towards them. Ginny was a close friend of Luna, so they decided that Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna and Ginny will sit together.
When they boarded the train, Ron told them something that made Neville a bunch of nerves (how ironic).
"Did you guys hear that there was another breakout from Azkaban. Think her name is Bellatrix Lestrange. She also killed her husband and his brother before leaving, therefore being the only living Lestrange. They did not reveal it to the magical community because already someone broke out of Azkaban this year and it would put the Ministry to shame. I overheard dad and mum discussing the other day. They reckon she is very dangerous and insane.
"B-Bellatrix Lestrange did you say?" Neville spoke
"Yeah. What's wrong mate? You're all pale."
"Gotta go to gran. Just two minutes." He ran back to the platform.
"I'll go after him guys. Don't worry," And Harry rushed out too.
"Gran. Ron told me s-s-something," Neville was saying, all sweaty, when Harry reached him.
"What's the matter Neville. Are you alright?" Augusta asked, concerned.
"He said that B-Bellatrix Lestrange e-escaped Azkaban. It is not public knowledge and only the Ministry workers know."
"What! Bellatrix Lestrange? Oh no. This is bad..." Sirius was muttering under his breath.
"Neville, what's wrong? Why are you being all panicky?" Harry asked, as there were only very few things Godric was afraid of. They could be counted on one hand.
As they got on board, Neville explained everything to Harry. About his parents, about the cruciatus, and about them having lost their sanity. Harry thought for a few moments before a grin made its way on to his face.
"Ric listen. I can help. There is this potion that was from our time, but today's people know nothing about it and it will help your parents gain back their sanity. The recovery can take up to a month, depending on the amount of Crucio's, but the result is promising."
"Really?" Neville asked, a bit hopeful, the Neville side of him overtaking.
"Yeah. No one has the precise instructions of that potion except me. It was kept in my Gringotts vault and is in Parseltongue. I have it with me in my trunk. I also think that I might have a stock of that potion. I'll check after the feast." The two slid back into the compartment.
