After settling his belongings, Isshin was assigned the guest room, which was spacious and equipped with numerous amenities.
Although the house was relatively large, it appeared smaller compared to his own, yet he didn't mind, as long as he wasn't interrupted in his training.
"Isshin, come down for lunch!" Park ah's voice rang out loudly, prompting him to place multiple books back on the shelf. He made his way downstairs, still clutching his Shinigami combat manual.
"Mom, what did you make?" Yuhee asked as she settled next to Isshin.
"You'll find out, Yuhee," her mother replied with a hint of excitement in her tone.
sniff "Oh, it's my favorite," Yuuhee exclaimed, her nose catching a whiff of something spicy.
"It's Korean fried chicken, and the chicken is coated with a sweet and spicy sauce. We added green pepper to the batter for an extra kick before double frying it in vegetable oil," Isshin explained, even providing culinary details that only an expert chef might appreciate.
"Wow..." Park ah muttered in astonishment, her face reflecting pure surprise. Meanwhile, her daughters appeared puzzled, unable to fully grasp the culinary intricacies Isshin had described.
—Evening, 6:00 PM—
Continuing through the day after the meal, Park ah's daughters persuaded Isshin to accompany them to a nearby park. He thought a stroll might be pleasant, so he agreed.
"Isshin, push me!"
"Me too, Isshin!"
Both twins urgently demanded, as they swung on the playground. Isshin obliged, exerting just enough force to avoid launching them several kilometers away with an accidental shove.
He played with them for a while, seeing no harm in it, considering that he rarely interacted with people outside of his family.
According to his stepmother, he was lonely but deeply engrossed in other activities, or, in his words, his priorities were different.
"Girls, I'll be over there resting when you think it's getting dark. Notify me then," Isshin informed them, pointing with his stick to clarify his intentions.
With his book in hand, he left the girls to enjoy the park while he delved into Volume One of the Shinigami combat manual. "Hmm, interesting... Shinigami combat is the opposite of Quincy."
Isshin mused to himself as he compared the fighting methods and styles of both Quincy and Shinigami. Quincy prioritized distance, while Shinigami favored close-quarters combat due to their nature, ideology, and preferences.
"Zanjutsu: Sword fighting techniques for the Zanpakutō. The most basic fighting technique.
Hakuda: An unarmed fighting technique that utilizes one's own body.
Hohō: The term for all high-speed fighting movements based on the art of Shunpo.
Kidō: Advanced spells that require strong spiritual power: Hadō and Bakudō."
Isshin continued to study for half an hour, fully immersed in his reading and, as usual, oblivious to the world around him. The basic principles and theories he was learning were relatively easy for him to grasp, thanks to his intelligence and innate talent, which set him apart.
"Issssshhhhhinnn, heeellppp!!!" The girls' terrified screams pierced the tranquil atmosphere, shaking Isshin from his concentration. He closed his book and tried to locate them using their souls.
"They're at a safe spot," Isshin concluded, realizing that the twins had climbed a tree and distanced themselves from a wild pit bull barking aggressively at the base of the tree.
"It appears quite angry and dangerous... but I am more dangerous than it. *whistle," Isshin muttered as he observed the dog's size and structure, finding it surprisingly large. He whistled to divert the dog's attention toward himself, intending to handle the situation swiftly.
The wild dog shifted its gaze towards the source of the sound and charged at Isshin, who remained calm and focused. As the dog leaped towards him, Isshin lunged at the dog, countering its attack with a swift, decisive karate chop to its head.
He neutralized the dog's threat without causing harm. Unbeknownst to him, his actions were captured by a nearby CCTV camera in the park.
Turning to the girls, he inquired if they were okay, but in response, they enveloped him in a worried and relieved embrace, their sobs muffled by the hug.
