[Yagura Karatachi]
"Godamnit," Yagura slammed his hands onto the desk. Why didn't his anbu have the heads of those brats? Yagura didn't expect Kokushibo to be killed in such a brutal fashion but that was still less infuriating than his anbu not doing his damn job, "I'll give you three seconds to explain why you didn't carry out your mission or your dead."
The man gulped, "Kushimaru Kuriarare was there sir," Yagura gestured for the man to continue, "He took the scum with him and left. I couldn't have gone after him he is way out of my league," Yagura took a deep breath. He supposed he couldn't fault his Anbu for that. Kushimaru Kuriarare was a fearsome opponent Especially with the Nuibari at his disposal.
Yagura looked at the man. He wouldn't get off easy though. He still didn't complete the mission, "I will let you off without death Atsuhiro," The man visibly relaxed at that, "But you are to not be let off without punishment. Go to the Anbu boot camp. You need more training," Wordlessly the man left. Likely to cry whilst he carried out his orders.
Yagura sighed. His plans have been falling apart recently. Kokushibo's dead, his academy and teachers were blown up and replacing them was proving to be a pain, The Kabutowari has been lost, and he still hadn't found Utakata yet. 'I might have to bring in someone soon. Any bounty hunter would be insufficient normally... I might have to contact him' Yagura shook his head. He wouldn't do that unless absolutely necessary.
The man he was considering was almost as bad as bloodline scum. But he was really good at his job. Better than any of his Anbu and hunter-nin. But he would have to be the absolute last resort. He wouldn't call the man if he had anything to say about it. There were also other options. 'Kakuzu the Immortal...' He could easily hire the man to make this thing easy for him. But he didn't want to break his village. Yagura cared deeply for his people. Using all their money to win their war wouldn't help them in the long run. Especially since Kakuzu was known for being greedy.
"It seems I need to do something to change the tides back into my favor," He could take the fight directly to them himself. He could just use the Sanbi's power and find them like that. But the Rebellion likely are prepared with a few Fuinjutsu users waiting for him to extract the Sanbi... That wasn't something Yagura wanted to risk.
Yagura had another option. He could win a war of attrition sure. But he didn't have the time for that. 'They destroyed my Academy... I can destroy their supply lines...' Yagura knew some Rebllion supply lines he had been waiting to ambush for awhile. This was the time.
He just needed to find some people who'd do it. He'd use a duo as to not attract to much attention. But who would be a good to send for this? 'Jinpachi, Zabuza... They've located most of them. They might as well be the ones I send. Jipachi's sword would be great for this and Zabuza is the strongest Jonin in Kirigakure that isn't in Anbu.' Zabuza wasn't anywhere near his most competent Anbu's levels but he'd be satisfactory.
Yes they'd be good picks.
Yagura looked at where he knew Lumiere was, "Go get Zabuza and Jinpachi. They are needed for a very important mission right this second." Lumiere was gone the second the word second left his mouth. Lumiere was the most obedient anbu he had next to Rei.
Soon enough Jinpachi and Zabuza were in his office. Standing still. Perfectly still. Yagura's favorite kind. Yagura looked at the two with a stone cold expression. Normally he liked to greet his men much more cheerier but this was serious, "I have a very important mission for you," Yagura let out a bit of bloodlust for emphasis. Normally he would never let this much out infront of anyone. Especially one of his three personal Anbu. But this was a serious event.
Yagura watched as the two men somehow became even stiffer, "Who do we need to kill, Yagura-sama?" The crude Jinpachi's formal tone was a bit offputting to the short man. But he ultimately smiled. Yagura pulled out a map.
Yagura pointed to a few places on it, "These were the places you spotted the rebellion supply lines correct?" A few towns from Kamina town to Marineford were circled. '
Zabuza nodded, "Why do you ask Yagura-sama?" He narrowed his eyes at his leader.
Yagura smiled at Zabuza specifically. It held no warmth though. Just cold indifference, "I need you two to destroy these towns. Every last man woman and child needs to die," A dark look on Zabuza's face appeared whilst a grin on Jinpachi's appeared. It was clear which one of the two Shinobi were closer to human. That was fine. Zabuza would follow orders anyways.
Jinpachi grinned, "Okay Yagura-sama! Anything else we need to know?" He gripped the hilt of his blade with excitement clear in his eyes. That was what Yagura liked to see. Jinpachi was his favorite swordsman now... Although he was only one of the two.
Yagura shook his head, "You may go now,"
With that the two men left like they were never there. Yagura then smiled. "Now back to work on other projects I suppose."
[Kukui Tanku]
'I guess the outfit change was needed.' I looked at myself in the mirror... One of the many times I did. My forehead had a horizontal scar covering it. So I decided to wear a headband to cover it. It was black and it fit nicely. I also changed my outfit to a slightly warmer one in time for the colder seasons. I now wear a long sleeve brown shirt with black pants and the same Shoes I stole oh so long ago. I also had a pouch on my right hip with all of my supplies. My swords were also strapped to a belt around my waist It was simple but I didn't stand out. That was good. My hair also grew out to be hanging down. It made me look cool.
"You done admiring yourself brat?" I turned around and saw a man with brown hair and a slashed headband. The man I recognized as Urahara. Aka the crimson swordsman of the mist, "Its time,"
I grinned, "Really? I'm finally allowed to do something!?" These past few weeks have been boring to say the least. We were kept here to make sure we didn't kill anyone and that we were loyal. I thought we'd never get a mission but I was wrong, "What is it?" For the last few weeks we couldn't train much. I managed to train my sensing at least. Also Lightning releases second stage.
[Lightning manipulation; Lvl 18:
Increases control of lightning according to level
Lightning jutsu are 18% more effective.
Lightning jutsu cost 18% less

Urahara chuckled, "Eager now aren't we?" He then pulled out a map, "So we're heading to a town on a supply run in Marineford. Normally Genin wouldn't be sent to do a mission as important as this but we're a bit short on Chuunin and Jonin at the moment so your tagging along with me," Wait... Just him?
"And me!" I heard a voice I recognized well. Ito Kaguya, "You are not just the only one going on a mission today!" That was two people, "Your stuck with me!" Ito dramatically jumped out of a box, "I finally got a mission!"
I raised an eyebrow, "What about Himiko, Sanemi, and Choujuro?" I expected them to be here with us. Were they still not deemed trustworthy? They were admittedly a lot more social and happy than I was during the last few weeks... They should be on a mission first. Not me.
Urahara shrugged, "Mei-sama had them go on different missions. The Chinoike is out with a chuunin going to meet up with a contact. Wind boy is with another Chuunin going on an assassination," He let that one sink in for a moment, "Don't know why. Don't ask me. And the simp is with a large squad of Chuunin and Genin who are poisoning water supplies,"
I chuckled at the nicknames, "You gave them nicknames?" The man shrugged and did not respond, "So... what's this mission about exactly, and why am I part of it?" The man began walking and gestured to Ito who grinned.
She raised three fingers, "Well three things are key to note here. One: We need supplies obviously. Marineford is our biggest supply town so we're going there. Two: There are rumors of people going around and destroying towns. Mainly our supply towns. We are going there to look for funny business and since you are a sensor thats available we're dragging you along! And three: There is no three I just wanted to make a third thing up!" Ito grinned, "Now lets go!" Ito began running.
I sweatdropped and looked at Urahara, "You said I was eager..." Ito had the energy of a child that had three Monster energy drinks. It was hard to keep up with her even normally... She wasn't using chakra to boost herself thankfully.
Urahara sighed, "Kushimaru's been keeping her cooped up here for a while. Now that the scarecrow's gone on a solo mission Mei-sama decided to give her a mission. Now come on we don't want her to get lost," Urahara grabbed my shoulder and suddenly we were in another hallway in front of Ito.
Urahara let go and I dropped to the ground, "Warn me next time asshole," Shunshining without a learning was as I learned; terrible, "Your lucky I didn't puke this time,"
Urahara smirked, "We both know that'll never happen again. Besides there's never a warning in battle! Why not learn that now?" That logic was terrible but I decided to not fight this battle. The brown haired man looked at Ito, "Now lets go. Had to make sure slowpoke here didn't get left in the dust," I glared at the man. I was not slow!
Ito laughed, "I could have just dragged him with us with my wire if he was that far behind!"
I sighed, "I'm here you know," Jerks. One day I'd be stronger and faster than them. That day I'd be the one laughing. And I'd be laughing for a long time then. 'Don't fail me future me. Stats.' My stats weren't that high now but one day they'd be high. Higher than theirs combined, "One day I'll be faster than you and that day will be glorious!"

'One day.' I still had dogshit amounts of chakra. But I made up for that in low costs for jutsu.
Urahara laughed and pat my head, "Sure you will kid. I give it about a million years. Now lets go," I grumbled intelligently and we left the rebellions base. It was time to get a job done I suppose.
[Ameyuri Ringo]
"So Umata has fallen now huh... That leaves only the big one and Seimei mountain," The supply towns of the Rebellion have been mysteriously wiped out. All but two. That wasn't good and Ameyuri knew that. She had a feeling she knew why she was here. Ameyuri looked at Mei who looked at her with cold and emotionless eyes. This was a serious matter.
Mei nodded and looked down, "Seimei is hidden even better than here. So that leaves Marineford. I have a hunch that whomever was attacking our supply lines was waiting to take this one out last so we might not notice. But unfortunately for them we did. Now I'm guessing you know why I'm sending you to Marineford," If Ameyuri recalled correctly, Urahara was also going there with his brats on a supply run. Why send them if someone might attack the place? Why not Kushimaru her and Mangetsu? Yami too for good measure.
Ameyuri nodded at her boss's words, "Didn't you send Urahara and Ito along with another genin on a supply run there? Why not more experienced and powerful Jonin?" Marineford was the supplier of 83 percent of the Rebellion supplies. If it fell the Rebellion would be in a famine and they would have to scatter.
Mei sighed and looked at Ameyuri with tired eyes, "I wish I could send other people. I know your thinking about you and the other swordsman but I have other important missions for them. Kushimaru is out gathering funds for us by taking some missions from the Daimyo, Mangetsu is out getting supplies Marineford cannot give us, and Yami is treating our wounded," Mei then took a sip from a cup of Coffee, "I've been up for 34 hours trying to plan a counter-assault on some of Yagura's supply lines. You are our only Shinobi available for this that can be trusted."
Yeah this situation sounded incredibly fucked up to Ameyuri... Welp she and Urahara could work together again at least. The dude was a great drinking partner, "So I have to protect the town and kill whoever tries to kill our suppliers?" As long as it wasn't someone like another swordsman or one of Yagura's personal anbu Ameyuri considered herself safe. She even whilst sick was one of the rebellion's better shinobi.
Mei nodded, "That is pretty much what you have to do. Urahara and Ito along with the other genin will be there to help you," It wasn't the best but Ameyuri had been dealt far worse hands in team members. Ito and Urahara are strong and the other Genin shouldn't be too bad as well. I heard he has lightning release so he'd be useful against a Hozuki at the very least," Huh was it that brat that Killed Michikatsu? Neat.
Ameyrui whistled before sighing, "I've had worse teammates. I assume Urahara has been debriefed on what's going on or did you in your tired ass state forget to tell the idiot?" Mei really needed to take care of herself a bit more.
That got a weak chuckle out of Mei, "I fortunately did manage to tell Urahara about the other part of the mission. I don't know if he told the Genin but he likely didn't knowing him," Mei then leaned back in her chair and turned around, and looked at a bigger map on the back of the wall, "Remember Ameyuri," Her voice shifted back into a serious tone, "You cannot fail this mission. No matter what we need to protect Marineford. Kill whomever you need to kill. Even if you have to kill your own teammates," Her tone was a dark one then.
Ameyuri nodded, "I will not fail Mei-sama," She would kill anyone in her way of completing the mission. She wouldn't like it but it was for the greater good. Even if she died. As long as Marineford was protected, "What do you plan to do in the meantime?"
Mei looked around at the map for a few seconds before turning back to Ameyuri, "Forming new supplylines is a top priority. If I cannot do that then we'd have to move and that would be the perfect time for an ambush which is the worst case scenario. So I need you to protect Marineford until you either kill the attackers or I call you back," That could take months, "Urahara will come back with the supplies we need and you will be left there to Guard the place since you are stronger. Especially in a thunderstorm," Mei then took a massive swig of her coffee, "Ao could you please get me another coffee?"
Wordlessly the man left.
Ameyrui chuckled, "He sure is whipped isn't he?" Ameyuri then shrugged, "I guess I'll see you in what might be a few months boss-lady," Ameyuri lazily waved before she shunshined away.
She had an idiot to catch up too.
[Urahara]
Urahara didn't know what to think of the brat. He had talked to the brat multiple times in the last few weeks. Mainly because he was bored and had short missions. The brat was a smart one who was very protective of those he loved. He also developed a shinobi's paranoia. It made sense. Being hunted by someone who was even in consideration to join the Hunter-Nin not just once but twice was bound to be traumatic.
There was also the fact that the boy was eager to learn and improve. He already had some stuff he had on him from before he joined but he wanted to study more. Like the brat liked studying more than a kid should. But since he was still under probation his desire to find more Knowledge was declined.
Luckily he wasn't a twat about it. So he was Alright to Urahara.
"We there yet?" Ito suddenly asked... again... and Urahara sighed. It had been a few days and his respect for Kushimaru went up. Ito was a bit energetic and eager. So she was starting to get on his nerves.
Luckily they were there so she'd shut up, "Yes, yes we are," He heard an audible sigh of relief from Kukui and he almost sighed as well, "Now lets go get a hotel. We can begin our mission tomorrow,"
"Alright!"
[Chapter end]
I think you all can tell where this is going. Honestly this is probably going to be my favorite arc due to some character moments I have planned. Now I have a few things I want to address in this AN before I get hate mail or something from one guy who takes the time to be mad about this stuff(Hey if your out there man, I'd appreciate some hate reviews. Gives me a good laugh... Although some actual criticism would be nice)
A) Tayuya. I know I quite literally introduced her four chapters ago and gave pretty much no time for a relationship to form between her and the main four of the arc. Originally I intnded tohav it so there was a small interlude arc between last one and this one. It'd involve Kukui getting to know everyone more. Just everyone getting to know each other more... Maybe I should start a side story for this one for that Mini-arc?
B) Well this ties into the last point now lol. Mini story. I could make some chapters and upload them to this one but the chapter order would make no sense. So how about I make a side story for this one to include moments from in beween certain arcs? Like I could eventually edit the fic to include those chapters so the story would flow better but for now I want to have the main story be done as soon as I can get it to be done... If you would like a side story for this one please review/comment.
C) System. I've noticed that the system hasn't really been very relevant the past few chapters or so and I apologize for that. I'd really like to say I realized that and planned a huge brain move to make it more relevant but I only just realized that once I saw the last I showed Lightning releases level was at chapter six. So here's a list of every skill and at what level its at now along with perks and titles and Kukui's level. In no particular order. Keep in min this may not be all of it.
