Finally, I'm reaching the end! That does mean this story will soon be over and it was fun to write. Of course, I think there were times I could've done better. For starters are too short, so once this thing is done, I'm going back and merging the chapters together; make this a more entertaining read. Of course, this isn't the last chapter, no, no, but things do reach a head here. I'm not going to spoil this though, just read it and find out what happens! Enjoy!
As we were flying throughout the air, I shot an arrow towards the big battle with the giant sand Pitch. When it landed it would play what I wanted them to hear…the battle was over. Pitch was making a run for it, back to his layer to recuperate and plan another attack. Also I'd be his plaything as long as he wished, that was the arrangement. However, there was one thing he didn't account for:
I'm a huge liar.
In the middle of our flight, my pants caught on fire, and I chose for it to hurt Pitch in the process. He let me go and we collided into the forest; well he did, I made a cushy landing for myself. The landing put my pants out in the process.
"What is this?" he growled.
"It's my tell when I hold it back long enough," I explained. "Yeah, I was lying to you. I'm not coming quietly."
"I guess the deal is off then," he said, trying to shift away. I quickly fired an arrow at him so he wouldn't escape.
"I lied to get you away from Kayla, now I have you right where I want you."
"Really, in your state?" I leaned on my bow.
"You know when I was 'saying goodbye' to Kayla? I used that moment to drain the brush of its power. It is powerless now, but that's because I took it back. Now I can fight you one on one."
"You really think you can defeat me?"
"Maybe, maybe not, I know I can hold you off until the guardians get here. It's as I said, you're done. It's over for you, you lost…again." I conjured a laugh track for emphasis.
"You'll regret making an enemy of me, Ema Fay; I'll destroy you!"
"You'll try," I said, pulling out a sword.
Our battle began: I charged at Pitch with my sword and he blocked with a shield. He then summoned a sand knife, and morphed my sword into a shield to block that. I then summoned a lance to jab pitch with, but he just morphed into the shadow and ended up behind me. I quickly split into four to cover my four corners and morphed the lance and shield into twin swords to block his scythe attack. I then merged into one again and did a back flip to gain some distance on the boogeyman. I then pulled out my bow and arrow and fired, he knocked it aside and fired his own sand arrow, but I just fired again, a bigger arrow this time, this caused the two of them to explode on impact.
"Well that should tell the guardians where we are," I commented.
At that moment, Pitch got a sneak attack on me, but I quickly made a hole in my torso so he'd miss. He tried to swing upward but I split myself in two, and then reformed quickly. I punched him in the chest for good measure, which moved into me kneeing him, and then elbowing him. I then clapped my hands together and made a sonic clap. He then moved for his shadow attack. I flew up into the air a bit.
"Try getting me when I'm in the air, and have eyes on all sides of my head." A crown of eyes then blinked open, giving me 360 degree vision. What I didn't account for was that he'd be right under me. He shot a javelin right for my nether regions, talk about a pain in the butt. All eyes in my crown shot out of my head when I realized I missed a spot.
Luckily it was intercepted by a ray of frost. Pitch turned and growled, while I smiled brightly.
"Are you almost done over here Ema, or do you need some help," said Jack.
"Hey Jack," I said. "How's the big battle?"
"Nearly done," said Jack. "Sandy and kids are just wrapping up."
"Then where are…?" I said coming to land near him. Some egg bombs exploded near Pitch Black.
"Are you still here you blighter?" said Bunny, popping out of tunnel. "When you gave the victory sound, I thought ya were finished with him."
"That's the point, Bunny," I pointed out.
"What is point," said North popping out a snow globe portal.
"If we just believe Pitch to be defeated that's when we win."
"I didn't think it was that simple," said Tooth flying up, ready to fight.
"Yeah, we had to fight him a bit first, but we all believe we're going to win. I can tell even Sandy's believed we've won, and the kids, however there's still one person…"
"Yes," said Pitch. "Unfortunately for you, it's not going to be that easy. As long as one child is afraid, I'm not going anywhere." We all scowled at Pitch.
"Last I checked, it's Halloween; kids are allowed to be afraid today and they still feel safe, that's the point of this holiday. It's complete safety with only an illusion of fear; it's where the imagination goes wild, chaos reigns supreme, and everyone can let loose and have fun. I looked at Jack and smiled, he smiled back. "Imagination and fun are meant to go hand in hand, yes imagination can be scary and dangerous, but without it, everything would boring and stale."
"Imagination makes things more wonderful," said North.
"Imagination makes happy memories," said Tooth.
"Imagination allows people to be hopeful," said Bunny.
"Imagination makes dreams come to life," said Jack.
"Imagination makes fears come to life," said Pitch. "You are forgetting, I have free reign this Holiday. You may drive me to the edge, but I'll just come back. Fears are fears, and nothing more."
"Fears are thrills," said a voice.
"Fears are exciting," said another.
"Fears all around make you a little less scared," said a third. Pitch looked shocked, and I grinned, we knew who those voices belonged to.
"Boo!" jumped out the Demons from the shadows, with fangs barred and eyes red. We all jumped a little.
"Good evening, everyone," said Vampire.
"What are doing back so soon?" said Pitch Black.
"Eda made us a bit concerned," said Ghost.
"Pointing out our chosen vacation spots were not worthwhile," said Mummy.
"That is why we chose to look into those places," said Witch.
"The torture devices were more aligned with tickle instruments," said Werewolf.
"The black abyss was more navy blue," said Zombie.
"The hall of screams though," said Devil, "That was on point."
"Of course, it got rather annoying after a while," said Vampire.
"So, we came back early," said Ghost. "Now we're ready to run Halloween again!"
"So Pitch, you're relieved of duty," said Witch.
"Let's go guys, there's chaos to wrought!" The demons then ran off.
"No! NO! NO!" said Pitch. "Everything was perfect, I would have won this time, if not for…EMA FAY!" I stood across from him cross armed.
"That's what you get for messing with me." I said growing in size. "Just know that if you ever mess if me or anything I care about again, you'll have to deal me AGAIN! NOW LEAVE!"
Pitch then ran off, scampering into the dark forest, but casting me a dark glare before he left.
Some nightmares had shown up, probably to support their master. We all turned to look at them.
"Looks like we still have a mess to clean up," said Bunny.
"Looks like the Leprechauns missed some," I said.
"Leprechauns?" asked Tooth.
"Yeah, they showed up too," I said. I walked up to them. "You guys have three options: 1, follow your master into his dark hole for who knows until when."
"2. We destroy you with our guardian might," said Jack.
"All so happy to do," said North.
"Or three," said Tooth. "You get turned into good dreams, we could call up Sandman."
"No need!" three voices shouted out.
"He's right here," said the doctor, they were riding on a flying dinghy; Sandman, Doctor, Warrior, and…
"You're alright!" cried Kayla. She ran up to me and hugged me. "When I saw the explosion I knew you had bluffed him. It was still scary though."
The hug felt nice, since I never had been hugged by a child in so long. I hugged her back.
"At least the fear can be fun again for the rest of the night." Sandman was corralling the nightmares in the background, inviting the kids to help him turn them into good dreams. The horses still looked a little scary, but now they were fun scary.
"Does this mean its over," said the warrior, a little disappointed.
"Did we win?" said Kayla.
"What do you think?" I said, rubbing her head.
After so long of a final battle, so many ups and downs, it's FINALLY OVER! Of course I wasn't going to doom her, this is based on Rise of the Guardians. Overall, I think that final battle didn't take that long story wise, it was only an hour and half at most. Now comes the resolution, that actually might be a longer chapter. Until the final chapter, or at least one of them...stay tuned!
