Sylvanas Windrunner was used to lying all the time. It was a more manageable approach towards leading a faction as vast and powerful as Horde was. The banshee's vision was projected into sets of information that the masses could be fed with. After all, what was truth if not a projection of one's goals and beliefs? Not to mention that when things would inevitably go sideway, there was already a plan in place to do the damage control.

Even though being a Warchief was undoubtedly a high honour in many eyes, Sylvanas did not share the same vision. She would have been most comfortable working alone or handling a small detachment. Yet, she had hardly anything to say regarding the whole chaos that her promotion was. But she had to do with what fate had thrown her way.

Revisiting the flying city – Dalaran – was an interesting experience, to say the least. One could have said that the more things change, the more things stay the same. And … it would technically and surprisingly apply to the mages' home. Yet, there was anticipation felt throughout it; everyone awaited a sign of some sort to disembark onto the lands lurking below to bring the battle closer to the Legion. Dozens, if not hundreds, of heroes of Horde or Alliance origin could have been met, strolling through Dalaran, buying necessities for the upcoming battles, or trying to catch a breath before all hell would let loose.

For less than a heartbeat, Sylvanas regarded whether to visit her sister. After all, the youngest of Windrunners used to live in this majestic place, utterly content with being degraded into the role of a human's wife. If she were not dead already, she would have inevitably died due to sheer embarrassment it was. Yet, thinking it through, she concluded that Vereesa decided to follow the lead of their oldest sister, who – in her eternal wisdom – ended up with a human paladin whose name Sylvanas had erased from her memory long ago. Given the circumstances, she discarded the idea nearly instantly, opting to preserve the remnants of her sanity.
