Disclaimer: That's right everyone. Season four is gonna have a heavy focus on the Mer-Pups! After hearing about Coral and Moby in season nine and getting the gist of what they're all about, I knew I had to make a season for them to play a role. And Arrby's here because Dachshunds are adorable, and I wanted to write Arrby. Win win!

Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.

Paw Patrol X

Land and Sea arc Episode two: Clashing Waves Part Two

The Paw Patrol were almost ready to head out to sea with Sid and Arrby, and Ryder was helping Sid use the coordinates to find the ancient Mer-Pup city. He spoke to Ocean, Captain Turbot's Mer-Pup, who's water chamber was properly chained up to the ship on the outside wall so it couldn't ruin the monitor. "Thanks for offering us your DNA Ocean. Finding that Mer-Pup city should be no problem now."

Ocean smiled and did an underwater flip for Ryder as a you're welcome. Sid started conversation with Ryder about his life. "So. Ryder. It must be something to lead the Paw Patrol."

"You have no idea." Ryder answered, laughing a bit as he thought about all the times he's had with his pups since he found Chase.

Rocky was painting something with the supplies Zuma spotted earlier, with Snow observing his job of course, and he looked quite in the zone while doing it. Zuma was laying down on the couch in a sexy position so Rocky could get the best angles possible. Snow nodded with approval when Rocky was done, showing that it was well made. Zuma saw that Rocky finished painting and got excited to see. "Is it weady yet?"

"It sure is!" Rocky informed Zuma while signaling him to come over. Zuma did so, and when he saw the painting, he loved it. It looked exactly how Zuma pictured himself in water color.

Snow was proud of Rocky's work, taking a moment to speak proudly of her own skill. "That's what happens when you let the artist in your group judge your work."

Zuma had some choice words for that as he let Rocky take care of packaging the painting. "It's still Wocky's image Snow. Painting is kind of like music, but without words."

"And yet they both tend to have a lot to say" Snow added, taking quite a liking to Zuma's comparison with both of their passions.

Out on the deck, F.M. was getting to know Arrby; specifically, his taste in foods. She started by offering some of the food that some of the others were loving, which Arrby noticed were chicken quesadillas. "Help yourself Arrby! We'll all need full stomachs by the time we meet the Mer-Pups!"

Arrby didn't want to sound ungrateful, but he knew he couldn't hide his dietary preferences from F.M.. "Thanks F.M., but I'm actually a pescatarian, so..."

"Sid already told me. I made one with shrimp in it just for you." F.M. assured Arrby, who happily accepted it and took his first bite. He ended up drooling a bit upon his first bite of F.M.'s cooking. This made the Dalmatian laugh as Arrby then scarfed down the rest of the food. "Glad my limited experience with seafood didn't hurt the taste."

"It was amazing to me. Thanks F.M..!" Arrby responded, and then got curious about how the rest of the pups wanted to spend their time on the boat. Just then, the boat started moving, showing that Ryder and Sid had set sail for the Mer-Pup city. Arrby got excited upon seeing this, and despite the boat already moving, he couldn't help himself with his next call. "Marshall! Everest! Hoist the sails!"

"Aye aye captain!" Marshall called down before sharing a loving smile with Everest. When they pulled the sails out however, Marshall accidentally stepped on a wet spot on the roof.

This led to him slipping off and onto the deck, leading to Everest calling out for him in the hopes he'd be okay like usual. "Marshall!"

Marshall gave his usual his usual "Whoa!", but Chase and Skye were so distracted by Skye singing a lullaby of some kind that they didn't notice him sliding towards them. "Magic Mer-moon, shining so bright. Make my wish, come true tonight." This added to the surprise both of them felt when Marshall slammed right into Chase's butt, which led to...

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT

...a loud and bassy ten second green clouded chicken scented fart erupting from Chase's vibrating butt, sending all the way into, and through the wall to the inside of the boat. Ryder caught him, and handed Sid a nose plug, allowing him to cover his nose. Marshall looked rather woozy as F.M., Snow Rocky, and Zuma went to check on him. Chase also ran over as fast as he could to check on his best friend. "I'm okay."

Everest jumped down to check on Marshall, and joined F.M. as the others came around with Arrby commenting on Chase's fart. "Shiver me timbers! And I thought MY farts stank."

"Don't worry Arrby. You get used to it." Skye assured Arrby, wafting the fart scent away before joining the others to check on Marshall. Arrby went to check on him as well, knowing that must have been a brutal crash for any canine to endure.

F.M. and the others were now playing out on the deck, and F.M. was trapped in a chokehold by Charm, as she and Chase were tag teaming him and Zuma in play wrestling. Charm ended up choking F.M. a little too tight after Chase pinned Zuma to the ground, leading to F.M. tapping Charm's shoulder with her breath limited. "Tap out; tap out!"

Charm noticed F.M.'s weaker voice and let go, leaving Chase to suggest out something they had to work on. "Okay. I think we should add roughness limits to the list."

Charm helped F.M. up, and then the boat stopped, leading to a conclusion from Chase about what happened. "The water's still pretty clear. We must be near the Mer-Pup city!"

F.M. and the others went over to the rail of the boat, and when they looked over, they failed to see anything under the water. Everyone else came over, wanting to see the Mer-Pup city, but were confused as to why they couldn't. Skye seemed especially concerned, hoping this didn't mean she couldn't meet the Mer-Pup in the picture. "Is the city... invisible?"

Sid used his telescope and looked around, unable to see any mysterious city with Mer-Pups. He did see Adventure Bay however, and since he'd never been, he mistook that for the city at first. "Aye! I see a suburban seaside town about a mile that way! Maybe they reside somewhere around there!"

"Let me see." Richie requested, and Sid obliged by giving Richie the telescope, allowing him to see Adventure Bay for himself. "Nah. That's Adventure Bay. Ocean's the only Mer-Pup we've ever seen there." Richie then got confused about why the radar beeped so close to where they lived. "Wait. Could it be under Adventure Bay? If so, how did we never notice?" Just then, the group heard a splash in the water and saw Ocean rise up before giving the brightest smile.

Ocean signaled the pups to jump down, leaving Claw to point out what she meant. "I think she wants us to jump in."

"That's pretty obvious Claw; you don't have to say it out loud." Charm replied, finding pointing out the obvious to be far more annoying from Claw.

Zuma managed to break up the tension by expressing how excited he was for this. "This is gonna be totally wicked dudes! I've always wanted to go scuba diving!"

"Wow Zuma; that's a big shocker coming from the pup who loves getting wet in more ways than one." Snow deadpanned before pointing out a flaw in Zuma's statement there in a much more casual tone. "Also, you have scuba gear. You can just use that."

Zuma shrugged before stepping up to the rail, grabbing Rocky's paw and helping him up as well. It surprised Charm a couple weeks ago, when he learned Rocky was okay with swimming now. Rocky and Zuma looked down with Zuma making sure Rocky was ready for this. "We're so having an underwater Mew-Pup date in PupLantis. You weady for this Wolfy?"

"No need to ask me Guapo." Rocky answered, and then he looked to Charm to let him know what that meant. "That's Spanish for handsome."

Charm took note of that, and Rocky and Zuma started counting down from three, "One... two... three!" and they jumped in on three! The two cannonballed into the water, and after doing so, they rose up with Ocean swimming over to them. She tapped Zuma's nose with her own, and then she did the same with Rocky after swimming over to him. One by one, the two glowed for a bit before feeling their lower bodies change into mermaid tails.

The two pups lifted up their new mermaid tails to look at them, leading to them becoming ecstatic. They showed immense joy before taking each others paws and showing their excitement. "We're Mer-Pups!"

"My turn!" F.M. exclaimed, jumping into the water without hesitation and cannonballing herself as well. "Mer-Pup time!" F.M. splashed into the water and made Rocky and Zuma laugh after she splashed them with it. Ocean turned her into a Mer-Pup with the same move, leading to F.M. cheering as she experienced her new body. "This is so awesome! I'm actually a Mer-Pup! This whole time, I could've turned into a completely different species all together! Well, half different! It's still awesome!"

"I hope you're not too excited to catch me!" Snow called down, jumping in next to join F.M.. She attempted a belly flop, and to no one's surprise, F.M. caught her and gently placed her into the water. "And the award for the most beautiful Mer-Pup in the world goes to..."

F.M. and Snow attempted to nuzzle each other, only for F.M. to end up turning Snow into a Mer-Pup as well. This shocked the two of them, but that was quickly replaced with joy. F.M. placed Snow into the water before finishing her statement for her. "You."

Sweetie groaned in annoyance before stroking her beautifully groomed head fur. "This had better be worth ruining my latest grooming job."

"I think the Mer-Pup form will help make that less annoying." Arrby said in an attempt to make Sweetie feel better, despite her clear diva attitude showing in the moment.

In an attempt to help Sweetie, Marshall had a little something in mind for the occasion. "I guess we'll sea in a bit, won't we."

Marshall snickered a bitch the pun as everyone else, sans Charm, Sid, and Arrby called out his name again "Marshall!". The others then started laughing himself before Marshall slipped off the rail and belly flopped into the water. F.M. helped him up and checked on him before Ocean turned him into a Mer-Pup, leading to the siblings hi pawing.

F.M. and Snow hugged with the rest of the pups jumping in one by one. Claw stopped Charm before jumping in however, showing is mistrust for him all clear. "Slow down Charm. Who said you were coming with us?"

"I did. By telling Sid why I wanted that potion." Charm informed Claw smugly before grabbing him and throwing him into the water. After he splashed in, he spat the water out of his mouth and glared at Charm, who grinned smugly and flipped him off after jumping off the boat.

After Charm splashed in, Ryder warned Charm and Claw to settle down. "Take it easy you two! I don't want any fighting during this trip!"

After everyone turned into Mer-Pups, Ryder and Richie turned on their scuba-gear with Sid telling them what he'd do. "I'll watch over the ship until you get back. Try not to get skewered down there mateys."

"Wasn't planning on it." Ryder and Richie replied in sync, and then they jumped into the water, they were all ready for take off. Ocean signaled everyone to follow her, which they did on her command, diving underwater with her in the hopes of finding the Mer-Pup city.

About three minutes later, F.M. and the others were still following Ocean, and Skye started to get anxious about their chances at finding the Mer-Pup city. She hoped Ocean wouldn't mind her questioning if her memory was on point. "Um... Ocean? Are you sure we're going the right way?"

Ocean gave a cheerful smile, and Snow gave her best friend some encouraging words. "I think there's a strong chance Skye. The radar did stop the ship around here after all."

Just then, a proud and cheerful female voice starting an announcement. "I understand if you're skeptical." Everyone stopped at the sound of the voice, which continued as an underwater light turned on. "But I assure you." And then another. "You've come the right way." And as a third light came on, the voice revealed herself as the Cockapoo from the picture Skye saw. "My name is Coral. And I welcome you to the city of..." Coral raised her paws as the lights then revealed a big sign with the word 'PupLantis' on it. "Puplantis!"

As the fanfare began, Rocky ended up getting set off and covered his ears, leaving Zuma to start comforting him as soon as he saw. "It's okay Wocky. I'm here. I'm here." Thankfully, the fanfare wasn't too long, and allowed Rocky to recover quickly.

After the fanfare ended, two reactions from F.M. and the others stood out. The first was Skye, who was overjoyed upon seeing the Mer-Pup from the picture. The smile on her face was clear proof that this was someone who meant a lot to her. "Coral!?"

Coral recognized Skye almost instantly and was just as overjoyed to see her in person as well. "Skye!?"

Skye swam over to Coral, hugging her tight enough to get a good feel with Coral doing the same. F.M. caught onto this as she then addressed it to the others. "Guys, I think it's pretty clear why Skye wanted to come here."

"You guessed it F.M." Chase confirmed, already knowing this to be the case as he spoke up about who Coral was. "Coral is someone really close to Skye who was gone for a long time. And when I saw her picture, I knew Skye saw a chance to see her again." After hearing that, F.M. hugged Marshall's arm, making Marshall smile as the Dalmatians showed a similar energy in their own bond. Snow and Everest embraced as well, having heard what Chase said about Coral.

"You're alive! You really are alive!" Skye pulled Coral away as she expressed how glad to see that the picture she found spoke the truth. "I heard about what happened to your town; I thought you died!"

"I almost did! I missed you so much!" Coral exclaimed, laughing with Coral as the two lovingly embraced.

The other reaction that stood out was from Claw, who seemed infatuated with Coral upon sight. Sweetie advised him to wait, knowing that they needed this moment. "Give them time Casanova. Only they know how long they've been apart for."

Claw composed himself the best he could with Skye bringing Coral over to the others, knowing she would love to meet them. "Guys, this is Coral; my long lost cousin. And Coral, these are my friends, and Charm, and my boyfriend." Coral was caught off by Charm being with Skye, but contained herself long enough to get to know her friends. Naturally, Skye started with Chase. "Chase, I think I've told you about her."

"Yeah, you did. And we saw the news report about your home town." Chase chimed in, swimming over to Coral to give his thoughts on the situation formally. "I never thought I'd get to say this in person. It's a pleasure to meet you Coral. And, I'm sorry about what happened to your old home."

"It's great to meet you too Chase. And thanks." Coral responded, and then she focused her sights on Charm for a bit, which everyone took notice to. "I hope you're helping Skye keep him in check." Charm ignores Coral's gaze due to not knowing her, or why she was glaring at him.

Ryder decided to step in and swam over to Coral with an offer. "Let's not allow bad memories to ruin this reunion Coral. How about the rest of us get to know you, and if you want to, we can talk about your history with Charm later."

"It would be interesting to take a trip down memory lane." Charm admitted, feeling that his desire to better himself could be stronger upon remembering what he did to Coral. However, Coral didn't take it very kindly, since she didn't know that about him yet.

F.M. dashed over to Coral and took her paws and expressed her excitement to see the Mer-Pups. "It's super awesome to meet you Coral! My name's F.M., and I can't wait to learn more about Mer-Pup kind!"

"Then'a good to hear, because I'm always excited to show outsiders what we're all about!" Coral replied, already taking a liking to F.M.. However, she did have to warn them about how Charm would be taken there after she started leading them to PupLantis. "Just be warned that they most likely won't like Charm being there."

Charm groaned in annoyance before complaining about what Coral just stated. "I don't know what's worse. The fact that they'll judge me for my past, or that I can't blame them." Claw wanted to say something, but after what happened at Wave's house, he bit his tongue and started focusing on Coral as she spoke to F.M.. He couldn't ignore her beauty, and hoped that Skye wouldn't mind him trying to act on this later down the line.

F.M. and the others were still following Coral around PupLantis, where all of the Mer-Pups were playing, socializing, or just having fun. It was quite a lively and audible city, which Zuma took notice of, and held Rocky's paw for comfort in case things got too loud. However, Charm noticed some of the Mer-Pups stopping what they were doing upon sight of him. Some were scared and others scowled at him, or whispered to another about him on sight. One of the male Mer-Pups called over to Charm with some harsh words. "You should be dead you murderer!"

Charm flipped the Mer-Pup off for that comment before Rocky put a paw on his shoulder to calm him down. He knew letting the Mer-Pups provoke him would be bad for both parties, and that now wasn't the time to confront them specifically. At this same time, Claw was currently speaking to Coral, who he struggled to hide his attraction to. Coral did find him charming, in a ditzy kind of way, so she didn't mind. "So. Do you have any hobbies, or-" Claw ended up backing up into a pole, which thankfully didn't fall over due to how sturdy it was. "Ow!"

Coral giggled a bit, making Claw chuckle nervously while blushing. Claw also noticed Charm laughing at him, leaving him to growl at Charm before Coral answered his question. "Actually, I don't have a lot of free time for anything frequent. I spend most of my time serving our leader."

"You mean you hardly have time to just, live life?" Claw asked, being concerned for Coral after hearing that. Coral nodded her head no, and like the others, Claw showed concern in regards to that. He could actually relate to Coral to a certain extent in that regard. "I used to have a pretty duty filled life myself. I hope you at least have others who care about you."

When Coral's face dropped, F.M.'s instinct to spread joy kicked in as she swam up to Coral with an offer. "Maybe we can bring you to Adventure Bay sometime. Or get you some free time down here. Either way, you'll have time to find stuff you like outside of your duties."

Coral did like the sound of that, especially after she looked at Skye, who showed excitement to catch up with her. She didn't know if she could accept, but she wanted to let the others know she appreciated the offer. "That would be nice." Just then, more fanfare began with some of the Mer-Pups shown playing trumpets for their leader. Rocky got set off again, this time with Coral noticing before Zuma comforted him. "Sorry Rocky. PupLantis is well known for being... loud."

During this, Charm's attention was caught by a Portuguese Water Mer-Pup covering his ears with headphones in annoyance. The fanfare ended, giving Zuma time to speak up for Rocky, who took a bit to recover. "In that case, I think it's best I stay with him at all times." Coral nodded in agreement to that, having noticed how calm Rocky gets when Zuma comforts him.

The leader of the Mer-Pups was revealed to be someone with the breed of an English Springer Spaniel, and looked to be the Queen of the Mer-Pups. Snow thought she looked familiar, leaning over to F.M. to see if they were on the same page. "Does she look familiar to you too?"

F.M. nodded her head yes, only for Coral to then advise the others on what to do. "I'll handle this guys. You just now for our Queen." F.M. and the others did as instructed, but not without Claw whispering something to Sweetie about their old life that made her laugh silently. Coral swam over to the Queen, who had quite the proud and regal posture with a trident in her right paw. "Queen Eveline! I assume you heard about our new guests! Here they are."

Eveline observed F.M. and the others before swimming over to them while giving a cold and apathetic thank you to Coral. "Thank you Coral." Coral didn't get much from the thank you, but tried to feign a smile for Eveline. In particular, she looked at Charm, who managed to spot Coral feigning joy over that cold thank you. "The Mer-Pups know quite a bit about you." She lifted his head up with her trident to look directly at him. "What brings a tyrant like you to our city?"

Charm moved the trident out of the way, shocking the other Mer-Pups as he contained his anger well enough to give a calm answer. "For your information, I'm trying to become a better canine than I was before."

"Ha! It's adorable that you think that can happen." Eveline responded condescendingly, getting on Charm's nerves while expressing a clear disbelief in his desires. She then looked to F.M. and greeted her with a fake smile. "We also know about the Paw Patrol themselves. Your tales have been well documented here in PupLantis. Ryder had better have been a good leader to you Flare Munroe."

"He has been." F.M. answered before making it clear that she was uncomfortable about being called her deadname. "Although, I go by F.M. now." Eveline didn't like the sound of that, and after noticing, Marshall and Snow stood next to F.M. to protect her. The others were also worried about her, knowing that Eveline's words must be hurting her.

Eveline made something very clear to F.M. as she saw some of the Mer-Pups staring at her with confusion. Others looked at her with disgust as well when Eveline spoke. "PupLantis doesn't take very kindly to change; whether it's from bad canines pretending to be good, or transvestites like you."

F.M. was a lot more hurt by that than she thought she would be. She hid that the best she could to boldly tell Eveline what she was. "It's Transgender! Transgender girl."

"Fascinating." Eveline turned around and swam away, leaving F.M. and the others baffled by how the other Mer-Pups showed no feelings towards her treatment of F.M.. "Stay if you want. If you can handle how vocal we Mer-Pups can get." Eveline then looked to Coral and nodded, telling her that she wanted to meet with her later.

Eveline swam away, and after she did, Coral went back over to the group. She tried to help F.M. feel better with genuine concern for her. "I'm sorry F.M.. I've never seen that from Queen Eveline before, but I should've told you before that she was... old fashioned."

"That's one term for it." F.M. replied, in spite of the looks some of the other Mer-Pups gave her. She was clearly hurt by Eveline's treatment of her. However, she also noticed some of the Mer-Pups looking at her with confusion, as if they didn't know what to do. The looks on these Mer-Pups made F.M. feel a little better, even though she was still hurt from Eveline's words. "I'll be okay though. You should take some time to catch up with Skye, and the rest of us will find stuff to do around here."

"Well... okay. If you're sure." Coral was still worried for F.M., who Skye put a paw on for support. It was clear that Coral didn't like Eveline's treatment of F.M.. If only she felt like she could do something about it.

A few minutes later, F.M. was confiding with Marshall and Snow about the way Eveline treated her, which clearly hurt her a lot. "And I obviously knew behavior like that existed thanks to the book Tod gave me. But to actually experience it face first?" Snow took F.M.'s paw for comfort as the latter contained herself. "I don't know how I never saw it coming."

Marshall and Snow knew this was a big shock to F.M.. The closest she got to not being accepted was Margareth, who even then, still loved her more than enough to make an effort. Marshall put a paw on his sister's shoulder as he gave her the best comfort he could. "Don't let her get to you F.M.. People like that aren't worth your time."

"I think it's more complicated than that Marshall." F.M. admitted, bringing up what she thought about the other residents in PupLantis. "The others seemed unfazed by the way Eveline spoke to me as if it was normal for them. Some looked at me in a kinda similar way to how she did too." F.M. then brought up an optimistic belief that she hoped was true. "Still. I'm sure there are some who don't agree with her. Coral was still nice enough to comfort me after Eveline left."

The three of them could only hope for that, and Snow had some words to say on the matter. "I hope that's true. And if not, just remember that Ryder said we can leave anytime you want." F.M. smiled when Snow said what she said next. "And if you still wanna stay until the mission is over, then I'll stop anyone who mistreats you from getting away with it."

"That goes double for me." Marshall assured F.M., not wanting anyone to treat his sister like dirt. "And if you're right about some of the Mer-Pups not agreeing with Eveline, then hopefully, we can save them too."

"I'm sure we can." F.M. responded with optimism, always seeing the bright side of situations like this. "For now though, let's try to enjoy our time in PupLantis."

Before the three canines did that, Snow reminded F.M. of one thing to keep in mind. "Remember to let us know if it becomes too much for you. We'll be there." F.M. gave a thumbs up to Snow and kissed her cheek before swimming off with her and Marshall. F.M. was nervous, but she couldn't let one bad Mer-Pup ruin her time out here.

After fist bumping Rocky and Zuma before they wen ton their PupLantis date, Arrby reminded Charm about his potion when he began swimming next to him. "I'll try to find that potion and maybe find something to pay back that Eveline meanie with. Will you be okay out here by yourself?"

"I should be. And I can't rely on F.M. and Rocky to help me with everything." Charm assured Arrby, knowing that F.M. and Rocky had their own lives. He did have one request about where Rocky was though. "If you see Rocky on the way there, could you let me know how his underwater date with Zuma's going?"

"I'll do what I can!" Arrby exclaimed, heading off to see about getting that potion for Charm, among other things. Charm only hoped he would be able to find the potion to help him.

Charm then looked at his Pup-Phone upon getting a text from Rocky that said 'Sorry for leaving you all alone here. Will you be okay?'. Charm appreciated Rocky checking up on him and texted back with 'I think so; don't worry. You deserve some alone time with Zuma.'. Rocky then texted back a picture of him and Charm hugging, making Charm really feel at home. Now all he had to do was find someone in town who, by some miracle, trusted him.

Charm spotted some Mer-Pup children struggling to get their ball out from some debris. When one of them was struggling, she noticed Charm lifting the debris, allowing her to get the ball back. "All yours kid."

The Mer-Pup was grateful for Charm's help, but was still scared of him. Still, she thanked him before swimming off with her friends. "Um, thank you!" After the Mer-Pups swam off, Charm noticed on of the adults signaling that he was watching him. After getting more mistrustful eyes upon setting the debris back down, he swam off.

Chase, Skye, and Coral were all together at a PupLantis restaurant as Skye was telling Coral a funny story about her life in Adventure Bay. "And then Marshall crashed into us, and we all went flying like bowling pins!"

Coral couldn't help laughing at how a scenario like that could play out. The thought in her head just sounded ridiculous, even if her memory of bowling pins was foggy. "That sounds like it must've been a big surprise!" Chase and Skye laughed as well with Coral admitting to something after looking to see if no one was watching. Chase and Skye seemed concerned from that as Coral spoke up. "It would be nice to get to play like that. Just to remember what it's like."

Chase saw an opportunity to help Skye bond with Coral some more, taking her paws as she made her an offer. "Maybe you can visit us in Adventure Bay at some point! You'd love it there. Everyone there is so friendly and full of life."

Coral liked the sound of that, and Skye backed it up with immense excitement. "That's a great idea! And the two of us will even have more time to catch up!"

"I'd love that!" Coral stated happily, but she then started to think about Eveline and how she would react. With how coldly she treated F.M., she wasn't so sure she'd say yes to something like this. "But, you two saw how Eveline treated your friend. I doubt she'd want me to come back with you."

Skye saw Coral's point, but wasn't going to give up that easily. "Do you have a Pup-Phone?" Coral showed Skye a shell shaped phone, impressing her with how cute it is. "Aww, that's so cute!" She then took her phone number out and handed it to Coral. "Also, get this. Apparently, we can turn into Mer-Pups in the daytime too. The sun is still out up above!"

Coral was surprised by that as a female waiter at the restaurant chimed in with a question. "So this Mer-Pup change won't last forever?"

"Nope. This is just so we could find PupLantis." Chase answered, and the waiter sighed with relief upon hearing that. This confused Chase and Skye while also making Coral worried. She wanted the pups to be comfortable here, but that proved to be a little easier said than done.

Charm sighed to himself after swimming over to a lonesome part of PupLantis that seemed to have a lot of scrap around the area. 'Making friends on my own is tough. Especially in a city where everyone either fears or hates me.' As Charm continued to think about the Mer-Pups justified, yet hard to manage thoughts, he started to wonder if going it alone was a good call. 'I did NOT think this through.' Just then, some scrap fell out of a cave nearby, catching Charm's attention. "Huh?"

Charm noticed a Portuguese Water Mer-Pup grab the scrap before spotting him and heading back inside the cave. He was intrigued to find a Mer-Pup who seemed to be an outcast in a similar way to him. He swam on over, knocking on the front of the cave to get the Mer-Pup's attention. "Hello!?" The Mer-Pup was shown to be close by, since the cave was small, and he looked back at Charm with a cold stare. He went back to his tinkering with Charm swimming over, wanting to know why he was by himself. "So. Are you an outcast in your home too?"

"Something like that." The Mer-Pup answered, continuing to work on his invention without making eye contact. "Don't worry. I'm not gonna run away screaming like everyone else."

"Or swim away screaming in your case." Charm corrected, chuckling a bit with the Mer-Pup continuing to work on his device. Charm started to wonder why the Mer-Pup was cast out of the Mer-Pup town. "I saw you block out the fanfare in town. And how annoyed you looked when it started. You're not into this place, are you."

The Mer-Pup was at first annoyed that Charm was still there, which he made clear with what he said next. "If I tell you, will you leave me alone?" Charm tapped his ear to show he was listening, which Moby took as a yes as he got back to his work. "I hate PupLantis. I don't know if you noticed, but this place is obsessed with loud noises, avoiding change, sucking up to Eveline, and partying."

"Yes to all except for that last one." Charm confirmed, being curious about that second one. "Is that why Eveline was so rude to F.M. about being Trans?"

"Yep." The Mer-Pup answered, showing his frustrations with the Mer-Pups after saying that. "Eveline can handle temporary changes, like what I think you being a Mer-Pup is supposed to be. But if it's permanent, she'll go from being dismissive, to being outright aggressive! It's why I only go into town when I need food." Charm had an idea on what that meant and was glad Eveline didn't go to aggressive lengths with F.M.. "Between you and me, I think she secretly ignores the standards she warped most of my fellow Mer-Pups with."

Charm could understand the Mer-Pup's anger all too well. It made him wonder about something else he could learn about him. "It sounds like you'd take the first chance to leave you got."

"In a heartbeat!" The Mer-Pup responded, getting finished with what looked like an underwater invisibility ray. At least that's what the vanishing dog on the front gave the idea of. "I've been dreaming about being a land-pup ever since I was a little kid. I doubt it's any quieter up there, but at least people will respect it if I want to be left alone." Charm got that, knowing that it could be hard to get what you wanted. "This place practically forces me to endure what I hate, all the time. So that's why I'm always in here, by myself."

Charm laughed a bit, as he thought of a joke regarding the Mer-Pup's behavior. "Guess it's never too early to be a hermit." The Mer-Pup rolled his eyes with Charm showing concern for him when he got back to inspecting his device. He managed to emphasize with his struggle, as while his story wasn't exactly the same, it did have some similarities. "In all seriousness... I know what it's like to be forced into a specific lifestyle."

That surprised the Mer-Pup, since he didn't know who Charm was, causing him to look at Charm as he responded. "You do?" Charm nodded his head yes as a figure was revealed to be watching them. "That's... moderately refreshing." The figure left after hearing that, possibly being alerted by the idea of Charm getting along with a Mer-Pup.

To be continued.

Rock music played as Charm started speaking in regards to what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "I can't believe it! I'm actually getting along with someone in this transphobic dumpster fire of a city! Okay, it's actually beautiful design wise, but I still have to get Moby out of here. He's got a bit in common with Rocky too I've noticed. Good thing that's the pup I plan to bring him to."

F.M. finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Flare on the right, and Marshall on the left. "Next time, Clashing Waves Part Three! (Arrby was shown looking around Miranda's treasure room for the potion.) "If I ever come back here, it'll be to to try and help the Mer-Pups understand that change isn't always bad!"
