Chapter 27

***Saturday Morning***

(Elizabeth was relieved that the boys were at Jason's. Because, in all honesty? She wouldn't be able to handle all of the questions that they would be asking her right now. She needed time to think. She needed to talk to someone and she knew who that person was)

(Before Elizabeth could leave the house, Franco comes in. She is standing next to the couch while he is by the coat hanger. At first, it's quiet between them until Franco breaks the silence)

Franco: "Hi."

Liz: (small nod) "Hi."

Franco: "I think it's safe to say that we need to talk some more."

Liz: "I agree. We need to get everything out in the open."

(They both go to sit down on the couch. It was clear there was a lot of tension in the room and they wanted to be fair to each other. They take a deep breath and face each other)

Franco: "While I'm sorry for how I raised my voice last night, everything that was said needed to be said."

Liz: (acknowledges) "Jason and I have gotten closer as friends. We haven't talked to each other lately out of respect for you." (sighs) "Franco, I know how you feel about him. You don't like him and that's an understatement. But, I made it clear that I wouldn't have any communication with him because of the situation I have with you. Jason did say he didn't understand that." (sighs) "I feel like I'm being put in the middle regarding this."

(Franco observes his wife as she spoke to him. He could tell what was happening, even if she couldn't admit it to herself. Finally, he spoke up, matter of factly, when she was at a loss for words)

Franco: "I know that you're falling for Jason again. Even if you won't admit it because you two share history and 3 sons together."

(Elizabeth looks at Franco weirdly before speaking)

Liz: "While biology doesn't matter to me and Jason, you DO know that only Jake is naturally Jason's, right? I mean, years ago, Jason and I thought about getting a DNA test done on Cameron and Aiden to see if he was the father. But, we decided against it as we didn't think there was a point. Aiden is Lucky's son and Cameron is Zander's son."

(Franco quickly nods his head as he realizes he almost let the cat out of the bag regarding a few secrets! Shit! Phew! That was close)

Franco: (smiles tenderly) "For what it's worth, I will always love you."

Liz: (nods & smiles) "I will always love you, too."

(She looks away from her husband and her smile quickly fades. She looks down and sighs sadly. Briefly closing her eyes, she was trying hard not to cry. She hated having others see her cry. In her opinion, it was like a sign of defeat. She sniffles and clears her throat before speaking, facing Franco)

Liz: "I admit that after everything that's happened…the distance between us, the distance between you and the boys, your hatred toward Jason, the way you feel regarding my friendship towards Jason, and then you taking it out on me because we're cash-strapped…" (sighs deeply) "…Franco, it's really taken a toll on me. I honestly don't think I can take anymore."

(Franco nods a bit before facing forward. He puts his elbows on his thighs and rests his forehead in the palm of his hands. He curses in a whisper before facing his estranged wife)

Franco: "Is this it for us? Is this the end?"

(Elizabeth stares at her estranged husband for several moments before painfully nodding. She shrugs before speaking)

Liz: "We tried, Franco. We tried to make it work. Unfortunately, we just couldn't make it last."

Franco: "I admit I'd rather end our marriage on a friendly note than someone that you can't even look at or speak to anymore."

Liz: (smiles a bit) "We started off as friends in the beginning. We'll leave it as friends."

(Franco nods before going upstairs to their bedroom to pack his stuff. About forty-five minutes later, he comes down the stairs with a suitcase in hand)

Liz: "Where are you going to stay?"

Franco: "With my dad."

Liz: (nods) "Okay."

(They share a goodbye hug and say their last goodbyes before he leaves the house. Elizabeth sits on the armrest of the couch and cries that her marriage is over)

(Jason texts Elizabeth and asks if she's home. She replies she's at the hospital getting a few last-minute things done before having the weekend off. She lets him know that Cameron has a key to the house so the boys can let themselves in if they wanted to go inside. He says okay)

(A moment later, Jason receives a call from Monica. He answers it)

Jason: "Hi, Monica."

Monica: "Hi, Jason. Have you spoken to Sam in the last day or so?"

Jason: "No. I have nothing to say to her. Why?"

(Monica realizes that Sam never told Jason the truth)

Jason: "Why? What's going on, Monica?"

Monica: "I have something to tell you, Jason. But I don't want to tell you over the phone. When you drop off Danny at my place later, I'll tell you."

(Jason can tell from the tone of Monica's voice that it's serious)

Jason: "Mom, is everything okay?"

Monica; "It's not an emergency, sweetie. Don't worry. I'll see you later."

Jason: (nods) "Okay."

(They both end the call. Monica, who was in the living room at the mansion, angrily speaks)

Monica: "You're going down, Sam. Your 48 hours are up. I thought that you were smart enough to tell the truth on your own. It's clear that you're not. You only have yourself to blame. As soon as I talk to Jason tonight, he will finally learn the truth."

(Meanwhile, in the park, Sam meets with someone privately as she realizes she's losing the war against Lizzie. Sam vows she will NOT lose Jason to the bitch. Her plan will go into effect soon)

(Monica calls Elizabeth, who just finished with work at the hospital. She is getting ready to get into her SUV)

Liz: "Hey, Monica. What's up?"

Monica: "Hi, honey. I was wondering if you wanted to stay the night at my place while Cameron, Jake, and Aiden are here? Danny will be here, too. We can catch up on everything and you can have a little break from reality."

(Elizabeth thinks about it for a bit before answering)

Liz: "Thank you. I appreciate it. I'd like that. It'd be nice to have a shoulder to lean on. The boys and I will see you soon."

Monica: "I look forward to it."

(They end the call)

(Jason calls Sam to tell her he will be picking up Danny soon. Sam knows not to object as she has no choice on the matter. Once the call is ended, Sam narrows her eyes and speaks)

Sam: "Your time will come, Jason. Both you and your whore."
