Unexpected Situations

Chapter 13 Sisters

As much as I didn't want this day to come, it showed its ugly face anyway. I'm meeting Zelena at her house so we can talk. Yes, we had a bonding moment in the Underworld with Mom, but there are so many things she's done to me that hurt, and I don't know if I'm ready to forgive. As I am driving to her house, my cell phone rings.

"Hello?"

"Hey, babe, I wanted to wish you luck and keep an open mind."

"Emma, do you know how hard it is for me to even think about forgiving her for everything she's done to me?"

"I know. I was there, too, remember. I felt your heart break when she revealed her deception and that she was pregnant with Robin's baby. You and Robin's relationship changed, and it wasn't a good change. I don't think you completely trusted him after he left you and went off with Zelena disguised as Marion."

"You're right. Robin had to regain my trust, but I accepted him with open arms because I loved him. A large part of me still didn't trust him until the day he died, all because of his actions when he chose who we all thought was Marion over me. Huh, why am I doing this?"

"So Robin and Katherine can have their aunts in their lives. So you and Zelena can mend what was broken and start fresh."

"What did I do to deserve you?"

"Being your smart ass, Evil Queen turned Savior self who is carrying our baby."

I smiled and said, "I love you, Emma. Always had and always will."

"Love you, too, babe. Always until all the stars in the universe turn cold."

"Well, I've arrived at my destination. Wish me luck."

"Good luck, you got this."

I hung up the phone, parked the car, and killed the motor. I took several deep breaths and got out of the car. I closed the door behind me, locked the car, and walked up to the front door.

I reached the front door and rang the doorbell. The door opened, and Zelena was standing in front of me.

"Hi," she said with a smile, and I weakly returned the smile and said, "Hi."

"Come in."

She moved to the side and let me walk into the house. She brought me into the living room, and I looked around.

"Where's Robin?" I asked, and she said, "She's sleeping right now. It won't be long until her next feeding."

I sat down on the couch, and she sat next to me. "How are you feeling? You look beautiful, by the way."

"Cut the crap, Zelena. I look like a beached whale!"

She laughed and replied, "No, you don't. I meant what I said. Pregnancy looks good on you."

That was the nicest thing she'd ever said to me; ever! I smiled, rubbed my twenty-eight-week pregnant belly, and said, "Thank you, Zelena. It's just…huh, I don't know why I feel you want something or you're up to something. I want to be able to trust you, but I'm not there yet."

"I understand. I don't blame you for feeling that way. I wouldn't trust me either because of all those terrible things I've done. Regina, since I became a mother, everything in my life changed. I want to be a good mother for Robin and be a better person. I hurt you tremendously when I impersonated Marion, took Robin away from you, and got pregnant by him. I did that out of spite and jealousy because you had everything you always wanted, while I was the outcast, the unwanted child. When we were in the Underworld, we learned that Mom betrayed us both. She erased memories that we had when we had that sisterly bond. That moment when we told Mom we forgave her, it felt wonderful to have that bond again. Please, Regina. I know I am asking a lot from you."

I raised my hand. "You had your turn to speak. It's my turn." She nodded, and I lowered my hand. After taking a couple of deep breaths, I said, "Zelena, when you showed up at my castle in the Enchanted Forest and threatened to make my life a living hell because of what Mom did to you, you did just that. You struck at my heart when I opened it to love someone. When Robin and I became a couple, you couldn't stand seeing me happy! You impersonated Marion and convinced Robin to be with you. I watched the love of my life walk away with who I thought was his wife and Roland. My heart was crushed into a million pieces that day. Emma tried everything to cheer me up, but I found you, Roland, and Robin in New York. You revealed yourself, and Robin confirmed your pregnancy. My heart shattered! Not only did my sister betray me, but Robin did, too. I was at a point of no return. When the darkness tried to make me the new Dark One, I thought about reversing my Infertility Potion so I could have a baby. Emma stuck the dagger in at that moment, and I conceived then. I watched you have the baby, and my heart continued to ache, knowing that I could never have Robin's baby."

"Regina," she started, and I raised my voice, "I'm not finished yet!"

She got quiet, and I continued, "You are asking me to forgive you. I was able to forgive my mother, who has done her fair share of horrible things to me that I thought I would never forgive her for doing. What you've done to me was far worse than that! How am I supposed to forgive someone who stole my chance of happiness with a man I loved? I want to forgive you, Zelena, but I'm not there yet. Yes, I want to be in Robin's life, and I want you to be in Katherine's life."

Zelena's eyes widened with excitement. "It's a girl!" I smiled, nodded, and continued, "I'm not yet at that place to forgive what you've done."

I started to feel weak. A pounding headache started, and I was beginning to have spotted vision.

"Regina? Sis? Are you alright?"

"I need to lay down. Text Emma for me. Tell her that I need her now. Only her magic can help me."

She took my phone from me and texted Emma. After finishing the text, she sat beside me and took my hand. I felt her magic, and I felt Katherine move. She moved to where she could feel the magic. It was helping a little, but not like Emma. I ended up passing out on the sofa.

-Dreamland-

I arrived in the meadow, where I met Katherine whenever she wanted to see and talk to me. I wondered how she would appear to me as an adult or child.

"Mommy!"

I turned to see my beautiful little girl running up to me and embracing me.

"Oh, sweetheart! Are you alright?"

"Auntie Z is using her magic to help us. She's changed, Mommy. Her magic is not dark anymore."

I looked into those beautiful green eyes and asked, "How do you know she had dark magic?"

"I can feel it right now. She's holding your hand. She means everything she says. She wants to be your big sissy. Please, Mommy, forgive her. I know she hurt you really bad, but she's your big sissy, and she loves you."

"Oh, my love," I kissed her forehead and continued, "You're so little to understand everything Auntie Z has done to me. I want to forgive her, but I need time."

Katherine hung her head, and tears formed in her eyes.

"What's the matter?"

"I want you and Auntie Z to be okay with each other. What more do you want her to do to show you that she's changed?"

Damn it, she's right. I have only one sister, and our relationship used to be indestructible.

"Ma! She's helping us! Go back, Mommy! I love you, and remember everything I said."

"I will, my love. I love you, too."

She turned into a golden orb and quickly floated to my stomach. It glowed, and I placed my hand there, and then the darkness took over.

"Regina!"

"Regina, babe, talk to me!"

I opened my eyes to see that I was lying on Emma's lap, and Zelena was still holding my hand. I looked at Zelena and squeezed her hand.

"I want to try and rekindle what we had. I forgive you for tormenting me, impersonating Marion, rapping Robin in order for you to get pregnant, and rubbing it in that you could get pregnant and I couldn't. However, I won't forget it."

Zelena had tears in her eyes, bent down, and hugged me. I embraced her, and she said, "You don't know how happy I am to hear that you forgive me!"

I smiled and said, "I know. Katherine does want Auntie Z and Cousin Robin in her life."

We both laughed, and Emma said, "I'm glad you two talked things through."

"Well," I started, smiled, and continued, "Katherine also did some persuasion on her part to help me change my mind."

Zelena's eyes widened, and questioned, "You can talk to the baby?" Emma nodded, and I clarified, "Not only do we get to talk to her, we get to see her. She summons us to a dream-like place where we talk to her as a child or as an adult. We also get to hold her when we're with her."

"That's one powerful baby! I've never heard of anything like it!"

I rubbed my belly and said, "Neither did I. Gold magic is new to everyone. No one has ever seen it in action or knew how it came about. We had to research. Gold is terrified of it."

"Wow! We finally know what scares the shit out of him."

We all shared a laugh, and I was the first one to say something.

"This is so nice that we are getting along and not at each other's throats."

Emma agreed, "Yeah, this is nice. I'm glad you two are reconnecting."

Zelena and I smiled at each other, and Zelena said, "I'm happy I have a sister again."

I took her hand and placed it on my belly. The baby moved to where Zelena's hand was. We smiled at each other. Finally, I have a sister again; all thanks to Emma and Katherine for talking some sense into me.
