Disclaimers: I do not own Power Rangers, especially Lost Galaxy, or anything affiliated with it though Johnny Marshak, the White Galaxy Ranger powers and Galactabeast/Galactazord, Alpha Squadron as it exists here (think I read a fanfic with a vaguely similar idea back in the day though I don't remember when, where it was, or even the name and it's probably long since lost to the ages anyway), and other new ideas are my own.
And finally, like the last few parts in the series, while this isn't a songfic, the title does reference a song. I can't say which one except it's sung by Michael Bolton and will be mentioned at some point.
Note: Are you ready? As the summary says, a huge revelation is coming that threatens to change things going forth. Something that has been building pretty much from First week on the job comes to a head. And kudos for anyone that's figured it out. If not, it's cool and I feel a little flattered as it means I kept was more covert than I usually do.
And thanks to James Birdsong and You don't know me150 for the Reviews and sorry I didn't mention you before now, James, and to any Readers out there. Anyway, sorry I'm a week late as I had a busy weekend out of town last weekend and I hope you enjoy reading it and finding out the revelation as I did writing the story and coming up with said revelation.
Tell me one more thing
By Har-El
Johnny was frustrated as Hell as he plopped down at his table. The night they'd gone clubbing, him and Maya decided to take their relationship to the next level, but fate seemed to be conspiring against them as every time they tried after that, something always came up in way of a Ranger emergency or a personal one.
Johnny even thought of his old make out spot in the Megaship's auxiliary hangar but while even the thought of getting caught was making it an exciting prospect, they'd nixed the idea as they found his quarters were much more comfortable than anything they'd have to cobble together.
Johnny had also started seeing his old therapist again and finally felt like he was truly putting all of his problems behind him, though he knew he still had a long way to go. Him, Mark, and Yoli had also became as inseparable as they'd been in school, now a quintet with Maya and Michelle added in.
However, things finally looked to be slowing down all around, from little personal emergencies to attacks, so Johnny had texted Maya to come over so they could take advantage of the lull to finally make love.
Johnny headed for his door as it opened and grinned at Maya as she walked in. She changed the door lock to Emergency only before she jumped into his arms, even wrapping her legs around his waist as their lips met in a fiery kiss. He didn't complain as it gave him the perfect reason to cup her ass with both hands.
Johnny's lips never broke away from Maya's as he carefully carried her over to the couch and plopped down with her still in his lap, then began kissing her neck, paying particular attention to the sensitive spot he'd found the first time they'd almost did this.
Maya leaned back slightly in Johnny's lap and untied the knot on her top, taking it off completely and tossing it to the spot next to them on the couch, and he froze. 'Damn, how did I get so lucky?' he mused. He looked up and smiled when he saw she had the tip of her thumb in her mouth.
"You're so beautiful," Johnny murmured and Maya removed her thumb and gave him a hungry smile before their lips came crashing together again. He was quick to take his shirt off as well and she ran her hands over his muscular torso in much the same was his were doing the same on her now bare back.
It started playing out like the night Maya almost died, but this time, Johnny didn't bother waiting to dip his other hand down the waistline of her skirt. She gasped as he started working his magic.
Maya's excited squeaking was going full force thanks to Jonny's ministrations and he hoped they couldn't be heard outside his quarters or this might become very embarrassing. 'Good thing Rocky's out with Pam or he'd be hearing it and I wouldn't hear the end of it,' he mused as she finished.
Johnny fingers then hooked over the waist of Maya's skirt, her sitting side saddle instead of straddling him so he could slide it off with the intention of it joining their tops and hers were fiddling with the zipper on his pants. He'd gotten the skirt just past her knees when the door chime went off.
They tried ignoring it, but it kept buzzing insistently. "Damn it," Johnny said quietly as he reluctantly pulled back from Maya and giving her an apologetic look, "That might be important so I might as well answer it, or they could run down Dad to get my emergency fob and we could really have a problem."
Maya nodded and lifted herself off Johnny's lap, teasingly giving him a fantastic view front and back, including a cute little heart-shaped birthmark on the inside of her upper right thigh before she pulled her skirt back up.
Maya started smoothing it down before grabbing for her top as Johnny got up and headed for the door, trying to make his excitement south of the border away as that could be embarrassing as he also slid back into his shirt.
Though he was frustrated at another interruption, Johnny tried to not let it show on his face as he opened the door after checking to see if Maya was decent and found Kim outside with Aaron. "Oh hey, Mom, Aaron," he said, hoping he didn't sound too strange. "What's going on?"
"I'm sorry to spring this on you last second, sweetie, but I need you to watch Aaron for a while, maybe even the rest of the day," Kim said, "Something came up at the gym and I need to head over there, but he didn't want to come with me and the others were busy." As she was a Reservist pilot, Alpha Squadron was a secondary job for her as she also ran a gymnastics facility downtown.
"Hi, uncle Johnny, hi, Aunt Maya," Aaron said, bringing Kim's attention to the latter coming up behind Johnny, who nodded and moved out of the way of his little brother, who went barreling into the room.
'Oh God, we're interrupting something,' Kim thought with an inward groan as she took in the telltale signs the couple were giving off like Johnny's shirt being inside out, the knot on Maya's top being retied haphazardly, and they were both flush and disheveled. "Was Maya making that squeaking sound?' she couldn't help but muse.
"I'm so sorry," Kim whispered. She had hated when little things would keep interrupting her private time with Tommy back when they'd been dating, so she was quite sympathetic to Johnny and Maya's little dilemma… and she was pretty sure this wasn't even the first time she'd interrupted them.
"It's all right, Mom," Johnny assured Kim quietly then raised his voice as he continued, "So I'll probably have the little monster for most of the day huh?" An indignant "Hey" from behind him made them all laugh. "I hope it's not anything bad like someone getting hurt."
"No, nothing like that," Kim said, "Brianna had just messed up with the schedule and booked 3 different classes on what was supposed to be a slow day.
"I'm not sure how long it'll be but I'll call when I'm done and headed this way," Kim said then leaned in and whispered, "By the way, your shirt's inside out." She laughed as Johnny blushed before she headed on her way.

Johnny was quite frustrated at the interruption but couldn't blame his Mom, as he was glad to watch Aaron as much as possible even at the last second and he was also as embarrassed that they'd almost caught him and Maya in a compromising position. 'Thank god I had the emergency only lock on or her and Aaron might've really gotten quite the show,' he thought.
It was the weekend, so Johnny called up Commander Stanton and asked if Jodie wanted to join them. She did and after picking her up, the 4 of them, Maya sticking around to help keep watch, had a blast at Chuck E Cheese, where he taught them all of the little skee ball tricks he'd learned as a kid.
Always the cool Mom, Kim hadn't said anything when she picked Aaron up a little later nor had Tommy, so it didn't seem like she said anything to him, which Johnny was very grateful for. He knew she felt bad about earlier, especially since it was the third time.
Another thing Johnny was glad of was that Rocky hadn't come to gloat at them almost getting caught so anybody that might've heard the squeaking must not have said anything to him or he'd have come running first chance he got.

Johnny was setting up a romantic dinner for him and Maya, who was supposed to be there soon with their Comet Cafe orders. He grinned when the door chime went off as he headed over to it though it briefly faltered when he found his older sister outside glaring at him, but he recovered quickly.
"Oh, hey sis, what's up?" Johnny asked then frowned when Kendrix ignored him and edged past him. "Uh, is everything all right? Nothing's happened to the Commander or sis or maybe Leo and the others has there?"
"No, nothing bad's happened," Kendrix said, adding "Yet" under her breath.
"O-kay, can we talk about whatever your problem is with me right now?" Johnny asked, "I get the feeling you're pissed at me though I haven't done anything wrong to get you this mad at me lately as far as I know."
"How can you stand there and claim you haven't done anything wrong?" Kendrix demanded, "Maya was telling me you two have been wanting to move things along and how close to it you two came earlier but I can't believe you'd push for it knowing…" Her voice kept rising in volume with every other word.
"Look, I know we found out we're siblings pretty recently, have been close friends even before that, and I know Maya's your best friend, but please don't yell at me," Johnny interjected, "For starters, the walls are very thin and I don't want to worry Rocky. If I know him, he's got his ear glued to the wall as it is.
"Secondly, as much as I love you to bits, to be honest, sister or not, is it any of your business what Maya and I do in our private lives?" Johnny asked, "I mean, I don't pry into yours and Leo's relationship and you two have also practically been dating since the day you met."
"That's different… and I'm sorry, I didn't realize my voice was raising so much," Kendrix said, lowering the volume of her voice back to normal. Something finally clicked in her mind. "Shit, you still don't even know, do you? She still hasn't told you yet?"
At Johnny's confused look, Kendrix began her usual almost frantic pacing back and forth across her brother's quarters, quietly repeating "Shit, shit, shit" over and over.
The two rapid-fire questions as well as Kendrix's ensuing frantic behavior took Johnny aback. "Can you please just clue me in on just what the hell you're talking about?" he asked in return.
"I don't know if I should be the one to tell you," Kendrix said.
"Come on, we're starting to really be family now and if there's one thing Mom and Dad drilled into my head, it's that we shouldn't keep secrets from family, especially if it's as bad as you're making it sound," Johnny reasoned, "Now, spill because to be honest, you're freaking me out a little here."
Kendrix sighed. It wasn't really her place to drop this on Johnny, but she'd painted herself into a corner. "It's nothing horribly bad like she's dying or cheating you as that would never happen as she absolutely adores you and wouldn't even look at another man that way, but…" she started but hesitated, trying to figure out just how to say everything she needed to.
"Maya told me about a magical trial on Mirinoi," Kendrix said, "Anybody can take it at any time but not many have for years because they're generally very nasty and almost half the people that try are left so badly broken, they'd be lucky to be paraplegic if they don't end up in a vegetative state or are simply killed.
"The prize for finishing the trials is that they can wish for almost anything except killing people, bringing them back from the dead, or making someone fall in love with you," Kendrix explained. Johnny nodded. He'd loved the Aladdin movies and knew magic like this usually had drawbacks.
"Not quite a year ago our time… which is a few months to them as they have longer lunar and solar cycles, Maya snuck her way into the proving grounds and won her way through the trials despite the warnings of her Grampa Jera and the others in the village," Kendrix finished.
"And what did she wish for, for us to pretty much literally fall into her lap and try to help drive off Furio and Scorpi-ass?" Johnny asked jokingly, ever the smart-ass, but Kendrix but shot him a serious "knock it off" look as she shook her head.
"You see, the thing about her village is that there wasn't exactly anyone Maya's age," Kendrix continued, "The oldest ones after her were only about 6 while those older were almost 10 years older and she didn't have any siblings as her parents died when she was too young to remember so either they were too young to keep up with her or too old and mature to hang with her. She had a friend named Shondra when she was little, but she had to relocate to another village."
"She must've been so lonely," Johnny said, his heart going out to Maya even more as he knew what that must've been like growing from up in the foster system. At least he had the Olivers in the end while she mostly only had Jera, who could only do so much as he'd already started getting frail.
That was a big part of the reason why they'd become so close even before dating as they'd both lost their mothers and in her case father when they were little and finally her Grampa Jera and the rest of her people and planet due to Furio's attack and why they were also close to Kendrix and Leo.
"Yes, but not for long," Kendrix said, "But before I continue, I've got to ask. How old do you think Maya is?"
"Well, it's never come up as while I'm still kind of clueless sometimes, even I know that's not something I should ever ask a woman, but I've been guessing about 21, same as me?" Johnny asked hopefully though with such an odd question, he was getting the sinking feeling he was way off.
"Physically and outwardly, yes, she looks like she's roughly your age," Kendrix answered, "She actually told me she thinks destiny itself caused the magic to do that because she'd be meeting you. Anyway, I'm so sorry to tell you this, Johnny, but she turned 12 not long before we met her and was only 11 when she did the trial.
"Her wish was to become older," Kendrix continued, "But being so young, she didn't know to word it well, so it only physically made her look like she does now while mentally she was still 11. I'm guessing you've seen Big so think of that as it's not that different."
"Whoa, hold on a second," Johnny said, "That can't be right. How could a then 11-year-old have possibly gone through trials that killed, maimed, or put people a good twice that age into a vegetative state?"
"From what she told me, the trials are different for each individual person and are based on their fears and physical conditioning," Kendrix explained, "It draws the information it needs from the psyche of the person running the trials.
"Now, as you know, an 11-year-old's psyche would be completely different than someone that's say 18 and I think that's ultimately why so many never made it while she did pretty easily," Kendrix pointed out.
Johnny nodded. "Yeah, I imagine someone going into something like that in their late teens or older would be overthinking potential dangers and if the magic involved has no buffer about what it draws from them, that would have to be very dangerous," he said.
"While a young preteen girl in this case would have silly thoughts running through her head for it to draw upon, which was why she passed with flying colors, exactly," Kendrix agreed with a nod of her own.
"She told me that the worst part about the experience was the prize itself in a way, when the magic involved began forcing the physical aging process," Kendrix continued, "She barely withstood her bones breaking, lengthening, and reforming and just barely crawled out of the proving grounds before passing out.
"She woke up almost a week later in the village healer's house to find out the villagers had thought she was just a stranger visiting from a neighboring village that had gotten lost and were tearing the radius around the proving grounds apart looking for the 'real' Maya," Kendrix said.
"She'd been quite surprised when she saw her reflection, as you can imagine," Kendrix said, "Gone was the cute little girl and the beautiful young woman we know was in her place. Jera and the other villagers were mad at what she'd done but there was no known way of reversing the magic, so they came to accept it."
Kendrix wasn't too surprised when Johnny walked over to the table and plopped down heavily into a chair. She hated being the bearer of bad news so much. "I'm so sorry to be the one to tell you all of this, but I thought you needed to know," she said as she joined him.
"Maya should've been the one to tell you and I've told her that I don't know how many times since she told me, but she's blown off the suggestion every time, but after finding out that you two almost… well, I had to say something," Kendrix finished.
Johnny nodded, still a little out of it. He didn't want to believe Kendrix but when he considered all of the little factors, whether it be Maya's immaturity, impetuousness, her youthful enthusiasm, and boundless energy, he couldn't believe how well it fit.
To make things worse when it came to his blind spot with her, Johnny had always filed away Maya sticking her thumb tip into her mouth as just chewing on the fingernail, a common enough nervous habit. 'But she's always been sucking on it,' he realized.
"Johnny…" Kendrix began.
"I need to think about this," Johnny said, his eyes closing and his head rolling around before he looked at his sister sadly. "I love Maya, Kendrix. It's taken me a long time to admit it even to myself, but I do. I love her so much I don't know if I can let her go… but I also don't know how we can get past this."
"I know you love her which is why I hate being the one to tell you and I also know that while she might be too young to really understand romantic love, like I said, I do know she absolutely adores you," Kendrix assured Johnny.
"I also know you will find a way to get past it, though maybe not on a romantic level and that it has to be breaking your heart and I certainly know it will break hers, but I know you two can mend this enough you can still be friends." Johnny nodded. "I'll let you be then and again, I'm so sorry."
"It's all right, sis," Johnny replied, "You had no idea I didn't know so I understand your initial anger. You're looking out for both of us, me as your brother and Maya as your best friend. I don't even blame Maya because I can understand how she must've felt at the time she made the wish. It's just…"
"A very weird situation," Kendrix finished for Johnny as she stood up, "I'll see if I can catch her and I'll tell her something came up and yours and hers plans for tonight are cancelled if you want so you don't have to worry about it and you can think about how to handle this."
Johnny nodded and Kendrix leaned over and kissed his forehead before she made her exit. He stared at the unlit candles on the table, his mind feeling numb as he tried to process this revelation.
PRLG
The next couple of days were very tough as Maya kept trying to show affection but Johnny found himself unable to reciprocate. He could tell she was getting more and more frustrated, but he needed space to think about how to proceed in reluctantly breaking it off with her.
'I can't believe in the space of a few days I went from wanting to make love to her so badly to barely being able to look at her,' Johnny thought one day as he stepped into his quarters… and stopped at the sight before him.
Maya was sitting at the table when Johnny first came in and stood up… wearing nothing but a wide smile. His heart ached at the sight that just two days prior he'd given almost anything to behold. 'Good thing I didn't have anybody with me,' he thought grimly as his girlfriend rushed to him, threw her arms around his neck, and gave him a searing kiss.
"Maya, Maya, stop," Johnny murmured against Maya's lips as he tried to pull away from her, but she had him in a tight embrace. A certain traitorous part of his anatomy very quickly rose to the occasion of him being kissed by his very beautiful and very nude girlfriend.
"Aw, come on, don't be that way, lover," Maya almost purred as she pulled Johnny over to the couch. He noticed her top was where it had been the last time they'd been here together, now joined by her skirt. He was still so surprised at her lack of clothes that he didn't fight her.
"I've made sure we won't be interrupted this time," Maya explained, as she stopped Johnny right in front of the couch and pushed him, causing him to plop down on it. He had no time to react as she assumed the position she'd been in before.
"What do you… ughhhhh… mean?" Johnny asked, stopping briefly in mid-sentence with a groan as Maya began grinding herself against his pelvis. He felt his resolve slipping. It was so tough trying not to give in as she looked so amazing, but he knew it'd be a bad idea.
"I talked to your Mom and asked her to divert any Alpha Squadron business away from needing to call on you," Maya began, "She knew what she'd interrupted the other day and felt bad about it so she couldn't agree quick enough. I even got Rocky to take Pam out for lunch.
"After that, let's just say I found a way to ensure that Scorpi-ass and his little brat know if they send any threats our way right now, I'd break off any important antennas they might have and shove them somewhere they'll find very… uncomfortable," Maya added with a grin.
"M-M-Maya st… ohhhh, shittttt," Johnny tried again but stopped with a shudder as Maya slid back down his thighs and began stroking his own "antenna" through his uniform pants with one hand, the other fumbling with the zipper.
Johnny finally broke through what almost seemed to be a spell and grabbed Maya's hands by the wrists and pulled them over her head a little harder than he meant to, but he had to stop her. "Ooh, someone likes it rough," she murmured, leaning in to kiss him more.
"Damn it, Maya, stop!" Johnny said, surging forward. He hadn't meant to, but he dumped Maya right off of his lap and onto the floor. "I'm sorry, beautiful, but I just didn't know how else to get you to stop."
"What happened to the guy who'd do just about anything for this just a few days ago?" Maya teased as she quickly sat back up. Johnny had to grab her hands again as she'd started reaching for his zipper again.
"He found out about the truth, that's what happened," Johnny murmured softly, giving Maya a pointed look and she turned very pale as his words sunk in. "Look, please just get dressed as we need to talk. I'll… be right back."
Johnny could feel his heart breaking as he saw the tears in his girlfriend's eyes as he headed for the bathroom. He hated to hear Maya crying softly behind him, but he needed a moment to cool off before he could continue this conversation.
Johnny stepped into the bathroom and splashed some cold water on his face before using some basic meditation techniques to get control of his lower anatomy. When he was able to do so, he turned and stepped back out of the bathroom.
Outside, Johnny found Maya quietly sobbing on the couch, now thankfully fully clothed. With a heavy sigh, he stepped back over and sat down next to her. "When did Kendrix tell you?" she asked, almost too softly for him to hear. She couldn't even look at him.
"She dropped by when I was setting up the other night," Johnny answered, "Don't get mad at her. She thought I knew and sister or not, she had every intention of tearing strips off me before she realized I had no idea. I had to beg her to tell me what was going on."
"I'm not mad at Kendrix or you for this," Maya denied, "The only one I can be angry at is myself. She's been trying to get me to tell you ever since I told her but…"
"You just didn't know how to approach the subject, yeah, we figured as much," Johnny finished, "It's all right. I just wish you'd have told me sooner as it might've saved us both a lot of frustration and heartache."
Finally able to get her crying under control, Maya nodded. 'He's taking it better than I thought he would,' she mused, knowing it had to be killing him to break up with her. "So, it's over between us romantically?" she asked softly.
"For now, yeah, I think so," Johnny said, "I would love to try for a relationship again one day but for now, it has to be. Please know this isn't just about your true age. I think we just rushed too much into this and we need some time apart romantically."
Maya couldn't help but let the tears start flowing uncontrollably again and Johnny gathered her up in his arms. "I'm so sorry Maya," he murmured against her thick hair.
"Please know that no matter what happens, I will always care for you," Johnny added, "I will always be here for you even if we don't see each other again romantically and I know you'll find some lucky guy one day."
"But I don't want another guy!" Maya wanted to protest, "I want you!" But she knew that this was for the best for now. It took several minutes before she was able to compose herself again. "So, we can still be friends?" she asked hopefully.
"I imagine it'll be weird for a while… breakups always tend to be, no matter how amicable they are, but never doubt that I will always be your friend," Johnny assured Maya.
"I think I need to go," Maya said, standing up. Johnny did the same and she couldn't resist giving him another kiss, this time a small peck on the cheek as she didn't quite trust herself for anything more. "Thank you for not letting me make a bigger fool of myself more than I did. I know it must have been tough."
"It was," Johnny admitted, "But now that I know the truth, I knew that it would've been a mistake for both of us to rush things." Maya hung her head at that. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have…"
"No, I needed to hear it," Maya interrupted, "You are the sweetest guy I could've ever hoped to date. I wish this didn't have to happen, but I understand why. I can only hope that I can still share in that somewhat as friends."
"Of course," Johnny said.
With that, Maya headed for the door. Johnny had turned away slightly and didn't notice as she looked back at him with a sad look right on the threshold before she left his quarters.

Kendrix let out a huge sigh of relief as Maya entered their quarters, her head low. She had been going crazy trying to get hold of her or otherwise find out where she had gone. "Oh, thank God, I was about to send the rescue squad for you," she teased but noticed her friend had obviously been crying, "What's wrong?"
"it's over," Maya murmured, almost too softly for Kendrix to hear.
"What's over?" Kendrix asked, stepping over to Maya to make sure she could hear her. Before the younger girl could answer it clicked. "Oh God, I'm so sorry, Maya. I know it has to be hard and I can't apologize enough for my part in it. I honestly thought you'd finally told him yourself."
"It's all right, Kendrix," Maya said, "I don't blame you or Johnny, only myself. You were just looking after both him as his sister and me as my best friend. He's just so sweet and I was so lucky… but I threw it and any other future relationships away by being such a selfish, stupid little girl."
"Maya, I wouldn't call your wish selfish or stupid and Johnny definitely wouldn't," Kendrix said, "You were just lonely and so young that you just didn't think it through." Maya nodded before she broke down crying again as her best friend wrapped her arms around her.
PRLG
Yoli hesitated as she stepped up to a door. Kendrix had sent her a text saying Johnny and Maya had broken up and she might want to go check on him. While her ears weren't nearly as good as the Yellow Galaxy Ranger's, she could make out a song playing inside though she couldn't place it.
Yoli waved her hand over the door plate. The door opened to reveal Johnny looking absolutely miserable. The girls had told her that he seemed to be taking the breakup well, but she knew better. He gestured for her to come in.
"I'm sorry to hear about you and Maya," Yoli said.
"Thanks," Johnny said.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened?" Yoli asked, "I'm just trying to understand it. From what you and her have told me, you two were planning to take it to the next level but now…"
"I'm sorry but I can't go into a lot of detail except we rushed things too much," Johnny replied, "It's really not my place to tell, it's Maya's. I will say she didn't cheat on me or anything like that, but I found out something that along with realizing we were rushing things made breaking up necessary."
Yoli nodded. She knew this was new territory for Johnny as all of his breakups had been on the part of his exes, mostly amicably with the exception of her. The fact that Michael Bolton's How am I supposed to live without you? was the song she heard playingwas very telling.
Yoli looked at Johnny and wasn't too surprised to see him crying quietly. "Oh, Johnny," she said, pulling her ex into her arms. She knew he'd always taken breakups to heart and could only imagine how he'd taken their own.
"It hurts so much," Johnny murmured.
"I know it does," Yoli said, "But you will work past this. If it was amicable, I'm sure you and Maya could work whatever the problem is and start seeing each other again eventually but even if you don't and only remain friends, you are the sweetest guy I've ever known. You won't have any trouble finding someone else."
Johnny nodded. "Thanks," he replied, gently squeezing Yoli. He knew she was right. She was there for a while as he clung to her, trying to help him pick up the pieces of his broken heart.
To be continued…
Footnotes: And so, ends the heartbreak hotel story arc as I like to call it… for now, anyway. I've been building this up from the beginning, with her innocent and sometimes immature behavior and thumb sucking pointing to her still having the mindset of a young girl.
I know readers will hate that I split up Johnny and Maya and even I hated to do it as I've invested a lot of time writing this series and their love, but it just popped into my mind. While this was always going to be about them failing to make love, my original plan was going to combine this with a story later in the series to accommodate them in the end.
However, the whole bit about Maya being a preteen mentally just popped into my mind and I just had to write it. Oh and, as you can now guess, the movie I borrowed from is Big and also kind of borrows from the movie 17 again except in reverse.
The song the title references is of course the one mentioned when Yoli went to check on Johnny. Some of the lyrics of the song doesn't quite fit as I believe it's about cheating ending a relationship, but I chose it more for the title of the song itself because it's what Johnny and Maya are both asking themselves.
I've got also got some bad news but also some good news. Bad news is I'm going to be taking a hiatus from the main part of this series. Don't worry, it won't be too long, at most 2 months, and it's only because I need to focus on some other stories like my HP fanfics, finishing my original PRLG series, at least one prequel to this series that will spotlight Tommy going on a journey of self-discovery… and starting a brand new PRLG series.
The new PRLG series of mine will be a completely separate universe with no ties to any other Power Rangers series, instead sharing its world with my new (in other words, it doesn't tie into HP and the last son of Krypton) version of the DC comics universe and where Leo isn't the Red Galaxy Ranger (or Magna Defender II for that matter) but something else altogether.
While many other Power Ranger characters that we love will show up at some point, they won't be exactly as we know them. Here's just a little taste of what will happen in the premier…
PRLG
"Do what you can to get those smaller creatures away from the villagers," Leo told the others, "I've got the big guy." The others nodded and they spread out.
"You've 'got me', huh?" the armored being said as him and Leo circled around each other, "I'm Furio, the mightiest of Scorpius' Generals, and you're nothing to me. Just who do you think you are?"
"Huh, that's funny," Leo said, "I was fighting a guy the other day that was about as delusional as you are and guess what, the battle consisted of two hits, one hit being me busting his teeth out and the other him hitting the ground. As for who I am, all you need to know is that I'm Trezo-El of Krypton and you're in big trouble."
Furio's eyes widened at that. 'Shit, a Kryptonian,' he thought and actually wavered for a moment. It was widely known how powerful Kryptonians were under a yellow sun, but they were supposed to be extinct! In the end, though, he growled and swung his sword.
Leo waited until the very last second before reaching up and to Furio's astonishment, he caught his sword easily between his thumb and forefinger and no matter how hard the monster tried continuing the swing or pulling it back, the sword wasn't budging. "So, the legends are true," he muttered.
"Told ya," Leo taunted.
There was an ultra-quick hand movement that Furio's eyes couldn't even follow because it was so fast. He was shocked to be sent flying backwards a good 20-30 feet backwards from by the sheer force of the hit with an Oomph. His armor was cracked a little from where Leo had hit him.
When Furio landed, Leo nonchalantly flipped the sword around then with a quick flick of the wrist sent it back to its wielder like a lawn dart, driving it halfway into the ground by the monster's feet as they slowly got back to its feet, already breathing hard and rubbing his sternum. He'd never been hit that hard, not even by a fully grown monster.

Sorry to cut it there but as I said, this was just a little teaser of what's to come in the 65-page beast of a premier to a series I call Power Rangers Galactic Justice, coming soon. By the end of the year at the latest.
And finally, as for what's in store for this series after the hiatus, the Lights of Orion, Hyuuga (the first Magna Defender for new readers that don't know, whom I've named after his and Mike's Super Sentai counterpart), and eventually Mike's return as Magna Defender II are all incoming as are many surprises that are completely non-canon. Until then, as always, Catch ya on the flipside.
