He'd wanted to get Freddy or Chica, hell, even Roxy or Sun, just so the kid sees a familiar, friendly face, but they had all gone into an automatic charge to finish updates. Not that they have a choice, their systems literally overpowers them and auto pilots them.

Monty remains where he is, not wanting to scare Gregory as he gains consciousness. The child whimpers and rubs the area where the needle had been inserted, and looks around.

"Freddy?" He'd heard footsteps approaching him and expected the animatronic bear, letting out a small scream at seeing Monty coming into view.

"Easy, easy, I ain't gonna hurt ya." Monty states, putting his hand on Gregory's shoulder to keep the child in bed.

He's still groggily, adding on confusion and despair, as he tries fighting off the gator. "No, I need to leave, I – Monty – Dale –"

"Ain't gonna hurt you no more. He's been sent off to chase greener pastures." Gregory's staring at him, like how Freddy did when he saw blood on Monty's torso, but there weren't any spots. It hadn't registered to Gregory that Dale was gone.

But slowly, he starts grasping it and once he fully understands, tears start coming. Now Monty really wished Freddy was around. He did not do well with waterworks.

"Monty, I, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry –"

"Uh-uh, don't you blame yourself for his actions."

"I'm sorry for what I did. I shouldn't have damaged you –"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, apologies accepted, it's over and done with. Now go back to sleep, you still look out of it."

"But I, you… you were so angry. I didn't think you would ever forgive me. I promise to do anything you need. I'll make it up to you, I swear."

"You can make it up to me by shutting up and going back to sleep, please." Monty says with a grin, pushing Gregory into bed. This time the boy didn't resist and sleep had reclaimed him in seconds.

The last thing he would hear would be Monty saying, "It ain't your fault Gregory, it was never your fault."

"Good news!" Vanessa shakes Gregory hours later. "They got in touch with your mom, she's on her way here!"

Monty raised an eyebrow, because of what he had been told, but then decided not to press the issue. All those accusations, he figured it to be another source of manipulation. They were all, in one form or another, manipulated. It is over and done now.

Vanessa showing a picture of his mom sparks a gasp from Chica. "I knew that you looked familiar to someone. It's hard to forget a guest like her. She was awesome in my Mazercise class! I didn't know she was your mom."

"Yeah," Gregory smiles. "She is pretty amazing."

They had delayed the opening of the PizzaPlex for a couple of hours. It is nearing that time and the animatronics can go back to their original schedules.

Dale is gone. Gregory can finally heal on his own terms once he's back home. Although Monty is going to miss the little runt.

Vanessa is heard talking as she walks alongside a younger woman, the latter seemingly nervous at the animatronics.

Gregory had cried before she started. "Mom!" He jets into her arms and she receives her child with tears of her own.

"Yay! I love family reunions!" Chica exclaimed, wanting to join in the hug but pouts Freddy stopped her, saying to let them have their space.

"Thank you." His mom now peers at the animatronics with gratitude. "Thank you all so much."

"It is our pleasure." Freddy comments and kneels before Gregory. "We are going to miss you very much, Gregory. I know that I will." Gregory hugs him.

"Yes! Don't be a stranger, please come back!" Chica exclaims, with Roxy and Sun joining in on the hug.

"Hey, don't crush him," Vanessa scolds, Gregory's mom laughing softly and the blonde hair woman gives a hug of her own. "Don't tell anyone but you two have access to unlimited VIP, free of charge. There's no excuse to not visit at any time."

"Thanks Vanessa." Gregory hugs her, noting Monty grinning from behind his band mates. As he approaches the gator, the latter kneels and holds out a fist.

"Take care of yourself, Gregory. And you betta come back. You owe me a couple of games in Gator Golf." He had joked, gaining a grin from Gregory before the latter had hugged him, throwing the gator off guard.

"Thank you Monty." He whispered, a few tear droplets fell on Monty's casing.

Monty receives smiles and support from the others. Roxy and Vanessa, for sure, will mock him for having a soft side. And this is why he isn't for the waterworks or the mushy stuff, especially in front of witnesses.

Eh, I'll allow it, for once. He ensured himself before giving Gregory his own genuine embrace.

"Anytime kid, anytime."
