It was around five in the morning when he woke to a scream, it belonged to his traveling companion. He rose and looked down at her she grasped at the sheets; blankets thrown off in her fit. Face was covered in sweat and she was clenching her teeth in some form of pain. He gently applied some salve to her head fearing it may be infected. It would be a long night indeed and he heard a knock at the door, it was the Innkeeper. Gandalf was quick with a response to explain the issue and he left in a grumble after seeing that the noise had stopped. Complaining at his guests as he left in a fit, about the screeching of another boarder.

Gandalf let her sleep, knowing she hadn't had a decent sleep in quite some time. It was around nine in the morning before she woke alone in the room. Her eyes scanned in search for the old man but when she didn't find him, she got up. Wishing she had a brush; her hair was tangled and knotted. She left the room in search of Gandalf, she could feel the stares of all the men, hobbit and even some women looked at her as she made her way through the Inn. Keeping her head down in hope that everyone would go back to their business. No such luck though she could see a man watching her from the bar which made Bryn shiver when she met his gaze and turned her head and rushed out the door.

Before she could step out that same man had approached her. Stopping in her path, he peered down at her smirking.

"You're a small one, aren't ya?"

"Please move."

"Not so fast, I've been watchin' you since last night when you and that Wizard arrived."

"I'm not interested in anything you have to say, so move." Bryn urged getting impatient.

"Fiesty, huh? I like that firey spunk, in my women."

"I'll say this one last time please remove your person from my sight."

"Not a chance see I've got a hankerin' beneath all those wounds is a beauty to behold and I'll have you." He chuckled as he ran his hand over her hair.

Bryn growing tiresome of the Lech stomps on the man's foot causing him to bend over, and she then head butt's him in the face. Hearing the crunch and seeing the blood splatter the man held his nose in pain. She smiled at his pain, feeling no remorse.

"You whore, you broke my nose!" He sputtered.

Nobody touched her hair. Bryn didn't bother to look back she simply walked away to find Gandalf and her horse, ready to put this behind her.

Long Gray robes caught her attention as she scurried over to Gandalf who was brushing her horse, Cloud. Smiling slightly at the horse her heart that was hammering before was returning to its regular beat. He looked at Bryn speculating why she was frightened but shook it off, she had been jumpy since he found her. Being curious as Gandalf was, he thought that she was just a small woman but it seemed that she was something more.

"My dear, I'm just curious but how old are you?" He looked down at the young lady.

"Seventy-eight." She mumbled.

"Ah, so I was right, you're dwarven but you have no beard, how curious."

"I'm half. But I'd rather you kept that between us. Please."

"Well alright, it's time to go."

"Where?"

"To the shire, Bag End, to be more precise."

"Okay." She agreed untying Cloud as he followed her freely.

"Your companion seems fond and fiercely loyal to you."

"Cloud?" she questioned looking behind her at the horse.

"Ah, so that's his name. Yes, he looks as if he could use a bath."

"I have no money." She repeated looking down at the dirt path in shame.

"No need, there's a river which we will be crossing, you should be able to rinse it off him there."

Instead of answering she simply nodded, the rest of the walk was silent between them. When they reached the river, she managed to rub the dirt and grime off in the water. Cloud appeared wary of the water but she didn't force him in too far in, which he seemed thankful. When they reached the ferry, Bryn wasn't sure if Cloud would be able to get on with them. When Gandalf offered walk around, Cloud then had managed to slowly get on the ferry, not wanting to be left behind.

Making it across the river Cloud was the first one off pushing the ferry away so they had to paddle closer to the dock once again. Bryn's legs were wobbly, being on the water she almost fell trying to get off, but Gandalf grabbed her already bruised arm, which she winced at the pain and he immediately let her go once she stood. Making their way into town, many turned their heads to stare, Gandalf smiled at them as Bryn once again kept her head down. They stopped at the stables again but Cloud seemed restless and didn't want to leave her side, so she let him stay.

They followed Gandalf until he put his hand out for them to stop. Looking at the strange older man Bryn decided to sit and wait. Picking at her fingernails, then playing with her hair trying to tame it. All the while listening for Gandalf. She could hear parts of their conversation, the hobbit was polite wishing Gandalf a good morning, offering him his pipe to smoke from. Then inviting the old wizard to tea, but only hearing a slamming of a door, then he returned after being gone for a short while.

"Down there that's the hobbit house of Mr. Baggins, go and knock tell him I sent you, and I'll take Cloud to the stables to eat."

"Alright then you'll be back, won't you?"

"Not for a while, I'll be here later tonight."

"If you say so." She said trusting him. Without answering her, he leads Cloud away, making his way to the stables.

Bryn made her way up to the hobbits home not looking at her surroundings, only noticing a round green door. Anxiously she knocked praying that she wasn't bothering the hobbit. He opened the door slowly, expecting to see Gandalf's face but his face lit up with surprise that he was looking at a woman.

"Hello."

"Umm, Hello Gandalf said that I should…"

"Oh?" He looked her up and down and realized he was being rude. "How may I help you?"

"If it's not too much trouble, I need somewhere to stay for the night." She could see him looking at her, but not in a lusting way. She started to squirm at his stare none the less. Surely, she looked terrible, her clothes torn and she was covered in cuts and bruises. She bit her lip which made her squeal, she forgot about her cut. He must've heard her, because he had stopped and apologized.

"Oh! Yes, I'm so sorry, come inside, you look like you could use a good meal." He said opening his door farther to invite her into his home. She walked in carefully looking around at the beautifully detailed home, it truly felt lived in and she loved it.

"I love your house; it truly feels like a home."

"Thank you, it's been in my family for years." He told her proudly his chest puffing up slightly. As he shut the door behind them.

Looking down at herself she felt out of place, and underdressed, rips and blood still stained her clothes. She felt tired and a bit woozy, the need to lay down overwhelmed her. Bilbo must've sensed this as he offered her a spare bedroom to lay down in. She followed him into the room sluggishly, her discomfort causing her lack of focus. Nodding her head every few minutes to not seem rude.

"Thank you, Mr. Baggins."

"You are welcome…" He trailed off not knowing her name.

"Bryn."

"I'm Bilbo." He nodded and shut the door seeing that she was falling asleep standing up.

Instantly after the door closed Bryn laid down on the bed, falling fast asleep leaving the covers undisturbed. Asleep Bryn had visions of a blonde dwarf who stood with a dark-haired brunette, they looked alike in ways and their mannerisms were similar. The blonde smiled and pulled her to his side, his fingers wrapping themselves at her waist. This made her blush who was this dwarf? He made her insides squirm in a way she was unfamiliar with. Looking to the brunette he smiled knowingly at them and turned away grinning. She had felt drawn to the blonde even though they both were attractive in their own way. In the distance was another Dwarf who looked to be older, he wore a crown. Running her fingers through her hair she stopped when she felt braids in them. She never wore anything in her hair, so how did they get there. Her mind reeled the next thing she noticed was a fire everywhere, and that people were screaming and crying. What had happened? Then she was pulled aside, only to see she was holding the same blonde dead, in her lap. He had a gaping hole in his torso. She started crying for him, holding him to her. After that everything was vague and blurry. She hadn't had pleasant dreams as of late, and the images she saw confused her. Her mind flashed and she saw a mountain that stood alone which was weird in itself. Why was he in her visions? Why was she holding him crying? Who were the dwarfs in her dream? And why did she wake up with tears in her eyes?
