Chapter 3 - Washington B.C.
And so, they're back on the road again. As Max drove the RV through the street, the kids decided to use the opportunity to get to know the blue hedgehog.
Gwen: "So you've been spying on us for years?" She asked the Blue Hedgehog after he explained how he had been hiding on Earth after his exile.
Sonic: "Well, I wouldn't call it spying. More like we were all hanging out, except I wasn't invited, and no one knew I was there." He explains while trying not to sound like he is a creepy stalker.
Iris raised an eyebrow towards Sonic.
Iris: "Sonic, that's the definition of spying." She stated.
Sonic laughed nervously as he rubbed the back of his head.
Ben: "I still can't believe Cash and JT were right." He said in disbelief.
Sonic: "You should give Stretch and Four Eyes some credit for being observant." He implied.
Ben nodded in agreement while Iris let out a little chuckle at the names Sonic gave JT and Cash.
Gwen: "So, how do you know our actual names?" she asked.
Sonic: "I read your mail or some of your photographs." He explained.
Iris: "Well, that would explain it." She implied.
While Ben and Gwen continue to chat with Sonic, Iris realizes that if he's been watching them, maybe he knows she is an alien and has powers. This made Iris's legs shake nervously.
Sparky: "Iris, calm down." He looked towards her.
Iris: "Calm down; how can I calm down, knowing that this Mobian probably has been watching me, you, and our family." She looked at Sparky while tapping her finger on the table.
Sparky: "Come on, Iris, if he knows you're an alien, I don't think he would rat you out like that." He wagged his tail.
Iris: "Well, you have a point, maybe for now, I should just trust that if he does know that I'm an alien, he'll keep it a secret." She rested her head on her hand.
The moment of silence didn't last long as Sonic looked out the window and gasped.
Sonic: "OH MY GOD! Stop the RV right now!" He said as he leaned out the window to get a better look.
Max: "What?! Why?!"
Sonic: "There's a gift shop; we gotta check it out!" He said excitedly.
Gwen: "Sonic, I don't think that's a good idea. There's someone in space who wants to dissect you! And they want the device Ben has." She said in a concerned tone.
Sonic doesn't listen to her as he is giving her a look and takes off but comes back a second later with a few balls and a cowboy hat.
Sonic: "Eh, you're right; nothing much to see there, but the souvenirs are kinda cool." He then pulled out three license plate name signs that said Gwen, Iris, and Ben.
Sonic: " Don't worry; I left some money before I left and got you guys some name signs. When are we going to get there?" He said quickly, as he pulled out a paddle ball and started hitting it fast repeatedly.
Gwen: "We'll get there when we get there." She said sternly. But Sonic just kept hitting the ball and staring at Gwen. Which made the kids laugh at Sonic's little joke.
Max let out a little chuckle.
Max: "Longclaw, I'll take care of your kid, promise." He thought.
Three hours later.
A fire occurred in an apartment building in Washington, D.C. A mother and son were running for the door only for flaming debris to fall around them. They opened their eyes and looked to see Heatblast holding the waste.
The son: "Who are you? He asked.
Heatblast: *grunts* "I'm here to help." He answered. He tossed the debris aside and proceeded to suck up the flames in the room into his body. He then led the family out the door.
They went out into the hallway to a staircase.
Heatblast: "This way!" He said.
As soon as he said that, the staircase caved in.
Heatblast: "Uh, on second thought, that way." He pointed to the hallway, and they looked to see a dead end with a window. He then fired a heat ray and blasted a hole into the wall, which fell, followed by a heat blast, along with the boy and his mother, surrounded by a fire tornado. They gasped at the sight of a flaming alien.
Heatblast: "I'm sure you want to thank me personally, but really, it's all in a day's work for no way! A Golden Sumo Slammer card!" He said in surprise.
He saw that the kid he just saved had three golden sumo slammer cards in his hand.
Heatblast: "Where did you get it? I've been searching all over for that!" He asked.
The boy: "It was a prize inside a box of Sumo Smacks cereal." He explained.
Heatblast: "Where did you get that?" He asked.
The boy: "The Mega-Mart." He answered.
That's when the RustBucket showed up, beeping at Heatblast.
Iris poked her head out of the window.
Iris: "Hey! We have to get going! The fire was a diversion to cover up a jewelry store robbery. The bad guys are getting away!" She informed him.
Heatblast: "What?!" He asked.
Heatblast looked at the cards and then back to Iris, who raised an eyebrow toward him.
Heatblast: "Uh, I knew that." He said.
Iris face-palmed and shook her head at his stupidity.
At an intersection of the city, a car driven by the robbers sped right by, ignoring the stoplights and with no regard for the lives of the civilians as they ran away to the sidewalk. As they looked in the rearview mirror, they saw the Rust Bucket on their tail.
As Max drove, he smelled something burning. He turned to see smoke coming from the seat Heatblast was on due to his molten skin.
Max: "I knew I should've bought those asbestos seat covers when I had the chance." He stated.
Heatblast: "Sorry, Grandpa. I can't help it; I'm hot." He said apologetically. But as he said that, Gwen blasted him with the fire extinguisher to put out the fire he set to the seat. It also put out the fire in his head that instantly reignited.
Gwen: "Ten heroes in that watch, and you pick the one with the flaming butt?" She asked.
Sonic: "Well, to be frank, it's not like he has any other alien that can deal with fire." He said with a sly smirk.
Heatblast: "Heh, jealous?" He asked as Gwen blasted his butt with the fire extinguisher again.
The two cars turned a corner, and Sonic was hanging out the window as Iris came closer to see what was about to happen.
Iris: "You do have a plan, right, Sonic?" She asked.
Sonic: "Don't worry, I got this." He said as he gave her a thumbs up; he then jumped out of the window and chased after the robbers. Once behind the car, he realized he didn't have a plan.
Sonic scratched his head with his index finger while he tried to think of something.
Sonic: "How am I supposed to stop a moving car? I know I'm not physically strong enough to stop it." He thought.
After several moments of thinking, he recalled a scene from the CW Flash series.
Sonic: "Oh, I'll just do what he did." He thought.
Sonic ran to a nearby store and borrowed a wrench from the facility.
Sonic: "Alright, time to boot this vehicle." He thought as he proceeded to unscrew the bolts from the wheels.
Once he did that, the car skidded down the road until it immediately stopped in front of a brick wall; Sonic opened the driver's door and leaned back against the door frame with his arms crossed.
Sonic: "Pop quiz hot shot, you two are up against a talking blue hedgehog who can run incredibly fast, who also removed the tires from your car. What are you going to do? What are you going to do? You'll put your hands against the wall if you know what's good for you." He ordered as the robbers obliged.
Sonic: "You guys seriously picked the wrong day to be bad guys." He said as he crossed his arms over his chest.
But then Sonic started to hear sirens making their way to his location.
Sonic: "Okay, I think that's my cue to vamoose. But first, I should leave a note for the cops." He thought.
Once Sonic placed the note on one of the robber's back, he left just before the cops showed up. When the cop cuffed the convicts, they noticed a message on one of their backs and decided to read it. It said: "They're all yours, officers, courtesy of the Blue blur." Leaving the cops to wonder who the Blue blur is.
Back at the RV.
Sonic and Ben were congratulating each other on a job well done.
Ben: "Way to go on taking care of robbers, buddy." He complimented.
Sonic: "I can say the same to you with the burning building when you saved all those people." He replied.
Iris smiled as she watched Ben and Sonic talk among each other, But she did have one thought on her mind.
Iris: "Well, at least we don't have to worry about any bad guys on earth." She thought.
The next morning.
Elsewhere, a man with a bald spot on his head in a suit was knocking on an apartment building with a sign hanging over the door that said "Dr. Animo."
The man: "Animo! I know you're in there; open up!" He ordered.
The man entered the apartment and heard a bunch of animal sounds and saw a bunch of cages with a bunch of animals in them. There were birds, reptiles, and mammals of all sorts.
He took a whiff of the air.
The man: "Ew. Smells like a zoo in here." He said in disgust
As he wandered, a shadow appeared behind him.
He looked into one of the cages; a bullfrog leaped out of a log with a rabbit, and a shadow walked up behind him, stepping into the light and startling him.
The shadow was revealed to be a man with almost green skin who hadn't seen sunlight in a few weeks. He had white hair in a ponytail, brown eyes, and crooked teeth. He wore a blue shirt with a brown vest, orange pants, and black gloves and boots. This is Dr. Animo.
Dr. Animo: "How did you get in!" He demanded.
The landlord: "Past key, I am still your landlord, remember? Probably not, since your rent is past six months due." He reminded.
Dr. Animo: "All my funds go into my research; now get out; you're disturbing me." He said as he went back to his animals.
The landlord: "It looks like you've been disturbed long before I arrived, pal. Listen, Doc, you and your furry friends are out on the streets unless you pony up the green." He explained.
Dr. Animo: "Pony up, interesting choice of… phrases." He said as he placed the frog on the table.
Dr. Animo: "You must be an animal lover, then you'll love this." He said as he placed a helmet on his head that looked made from a pasta strainer and other parts. It had two antennae-like protrusions on it and a strap on the bottom of it. He also placed a strap over his vest with some dial at the belt that connected it.
The landlord just laughed at how ridiculous Animo looked.
The landlord: "What's that? You're a member of the moose lodge or something?" He asked.
Dr. Animo: "This is my Transmodulator. Phase number one - It creates and accelerates mutations at the genetic level, observe." He said as he turned the dial on his chest, boosting the power.
Red sparks shot out of the Transmodulator and blasted the frog. Right before their eyes, the frog grew and mutated into something truly monstrous. It was now about ten times its standard size and now had four red eyes, multiple orange growths all along its body, some crests on its head, and it now had two horns sticking out of its temples, making it seem like a literal bullfrog.
The landlord screamed as the mutant frog chomped down on him and started chewing him. He continued screaming, but it was muffled inside the frog's mouth.
Dr. Animo: "I'm sorry, I can't hear you; it sounds like you have a frog in your throat. *laughs* Or is that the other way around!?" He asked as he laughed maniacally.
The frog then spits the landlord out, and he crashes against the wall, covered in gross green saliva. He groaned in pain before passing into unconsciousness.
Animo held up a photo and glared.
Dr. Animo: "So close to having what's rightfully mine. All I need is a few lousy components to finish my work!" He said as he clenched his fist angrily.
"So whatever you need from hairspray to state-of-the-art electronics. The advertiser on the TV behind Animo. "You'll find them under one roof at the grand opening of the district's newest mega mart."
Dr. Animo: "Ah… Just what the doctor ordered." He said sinisterly.
By sheer coincidence, the Tennysons, along with Iris, Sparky, and Sonic, who is wearing a cowboy hat, baggy blue pants, and a long-sleeved blue shirt. Are shopping at the same supermarket on the other side of town. Max led the children down an aisle with Sparky, Gwen, Iris, and Sonic following behind. Ben had other plans; as soon as his eyes caught the hall with cereal, he separated from the group and looked for one particular grain. But that didn't go unnoticed by Sonic as he followed Ben closely from behind.
Ben: "Sumo Slammer Cards, cool." He said eagerly and formed a devious plan.
Sonic: "You want that card, don't you?" He asked, and he got his answer when Ben activated the Omnitrix.
Meanwhile.
Max, Iris, Sparky, and Gwen stopped at a nearby aisle as the older man checked on a can of octopus chunks.
Max: "Hmm, Only canned octopus? I thought this store prided itself on a wide selection?" He said, disappointed.
Iris: "Uh, Max, no offense, but can't we have a normal dinner for once? You know, one that doesn't involve stir-fried tentacles." She said Hesitantly.
Max: "Heh, nonsense. Where do you suppose they keep the sheep's bladder?" He wondered.
At that, Iris groaned while Gwen looked like she was about to burst into tears until the girls saw a blast of green light and instantly knew what that meant.
Gwen: "Ben…?" She called suspiciously.
Gwen and Iris made it to the cereal aisle, to see five cereal boxes destroyed and Sonic phasing his hands through a cereal box and pulling out a blue Sumo Slammers card.
Sonic: "Darn, a blue card again." He said as he phased the card back into the cereal box.
Gwen: "Sonic, what are you doing?" She asked angrily.
Sonic's voice caused the hedgehog to jump and turn to the redhead.
Sonic: "I didn't destroy those cereal boxes; I was just helping." He said with a slightly worried expression.
Iris: "And who were you helping, exactly?" She asked
Sonic jerked his thumb to the shelf with five empty cereal boxes and saw one of the boxes shaking around.
Iris and Gwen approached it and nearly screamed as something popped out. Sitting in the box was a small gray-green alien with fished-eyed goggles and a black and white jumpsuit. And he was holding a red Sumo Slammer card.
Ben: "Ah, man, a red card!" He said disappointingly.
Gwen: "Ben!" She yelled.
Iris: "He turned into a Galvan. Good choice on his part; they're brilliant creatures." She smiled a little
Ben: "Oh, hello, Gwen. I was using GreyMatter to find the golden Sumo Slammer card." He said like it was no big deal.
Gwen: "Greymatter?" She questioned.
Ben: "Yes, this alien is brilliant, but I guess it couldn't figure out which box had the card I was looking for." He said in disappointment.
Gwen: "You're supposed to use your powers to help people, not find some stupid trading card. Not to mention, how much trouble you and Sonic will get!" She lectured.
Greymatter: "Come on, I deserve a reward for saving the day!" He said, a little upset.
Iris just shook her head a little hearing that.
Iris: "Allow me to do an impersonation of Spiderman. *clearing her throat* With great power comes great responsibility. And what you are doing is abusing your powers." She said, giving a look that said you're an idiot.
Unfortunately for the kids, one of the employees named Regis, as it said on his name tag, walked up behind them. He cleared his throat behind them; Gwen grimaced as she turned around, keeping Greymatter hidden behind her back.
Regis: "If you open a box, You bought them!" He said in irritation.
Gwen: "It wasn't us, it was my stupid cousin and-"
Regis: "I don't care who did it; someone has to pay for all of this!" He said, cutting her off.
Iris, Gwen, and Sonic groaned in frustration.
The family's shopping cart now had five cereal boxes; Iris face-palmed at Ben's antics, and Sonic decided to wait for the right moment to say something to Ben.
Max: "So, why are we buying this cereal?" Max asked.
Ben: "Well, we would only have bought the cereal box I found the golden Sumo Slammer card in if Gwen and Iris didn't butt in with their big butts!" He yelled, now back to normal.
Iris gasped at that and twitched her right eye in shock.
Iris: "Now, wait a second; you were trashing the cereal aisle to get a stupid card." She yelled back.
Sonic thought now would be a good time to try and reason with Ben, so he walked over and placed a hand on his back.
Sonic: "Ben, I can understand why you want this card cause I'm a fan of Sumo Slammers too, but don't you think you're getting a little obsessed?" He asked
Ben: "Maybe you're right, Sonic. I don't deserve a Gold Sumo Slammer card. I mean, it's not like I saved many people from a burning building or anything like that!" He said in frustration.
Sonic: "Hey, I helped by stopping those crooks, remember?" He asked.
Ben: "Oh yeah, I forgot." He answered as he rubbed the back of his head in slight embarrassment.
Iris: "Yeah, you don't see him complaining, do you." She implied.
Gwen: "And seriously, superhero guilt, that's pretty low." She said, slightly annoyed.
Ben: "Hey, Whatever it takes." He said back.
Iris: "*Sigh* He has much to learn about what it takes to be a superhero." She said with disappointment clear on her face as they walked on.
Moments later.
As they continued to the electronics aisle, Ben noticed a standee and a display case of Sumo Slammer's franchise. He paced over to the point gleefully, ignoring Gwen's glare.
Ben: "Wow, Sumo Slammer cards! The complete set!" He said gleefully.
Max: "Iris, Sonic, why don't you two stay here and keep Ben company."
Sonic: "You got it, Max," He said as he and Iris walked towards Ben.
That's when Gwen noticed how worn down Sonic's shoes were, down to where she could see some socks and paws. She couldn't help but feel bad for the blue hedgehog.
Gwen: "Uh, grandpa? Can we stop at the shoe aisle for a second?" She asked.
Max: "What for?" He asked.
Gwen: "Well.." She explained as they went into the pet department.
Iris watched them disappear and walked over to Ben and Sonic, who were staring at the complete set of Sumo Slammer cards. There were five cards: One red, one blue, one green, and an orange one, and the rarest of all the gold Sumo Slammer card.
Ben: "Someday, you'll be all mine." He said as the other cards faded from his view and the gold card shined brightly.
Iris let out a sigh as she slowly shook her head.
Iris: He wants that card, does he?" She asked.
Sonic was about to say something until the ground suddenly started shaking, which took Ben's mind off the card. A thud echoed moments before the earth quaked each time, knocking the items off the shelves. Sensing the tremors were getting closer, Iris tackled Ben out of the way before the wall caved in, and Dr. Animo appeared, riding on his mutant frog.
Ben & Sonic: "Whoa." They said in amazement.
The sickly-looking scientist looked down for what he wanted, jumping down from his seat on his frog, pulled out a dirty pillowcase, and started stuffing it with packaged machine parts. That was when Ben decided to be the hero and jumped out in the open before Iris could grab him. noticed the boy and leered through his red-lensed goggles.
Ben: "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" He asked.
Instead of answering the boy's question, Animo snapped his fingers, and his mutant frog lashed its tongue at Ben. He ducked his head out of the way in time, but the mutant's tongue whipped the display of boxes behind him and brought the whole thing tumbling down on him. Luckily, it was only empty boxes, so no harm was done. Ben crawled out of the cardboard box avalanche and looked up as looked at him threateningly.
: "Don't be a hero, kid, just run along and play. He said warningly.
Ben looked at the Omnitrix, which was still recharging after his stunt at the cereal aisle.
Ben: "You're so lucky I can't go hero right now." He muttered annoyingly.
chuckled at the amusing threat and hoisted himself back on his mutated amphibian just as the store security showed up.
Security officer: "Freeze." He said weakly, realizing there was a giant four-eyed horned frog in the middle of the electronics section.
Security officer: "Get down from that giant..frog…thing and put your hands in the air." He demanded.
scoffed and silently commanded his pet forward, leaping over the security guards and bouncing off to another store section. The security guard pulled out his walkie-talkie, watching the pair go in disbelief.
Security officer: "Uh…we have grab and dash at electronics. Five-foot-six riding on a giant frog, or trust me; you can't miss him." He informed.
Iris: "Ben, are you alright? You're not hurt, are you? She shouted as she and Sonic went up to the boy and hugged him.
Ben: "I'm fine, but right now, we need to find Grandpa and Gwen." He said as he hugged her back.
Sonic: "Definitely." He said with a nod.
The other two Tennysons were in the pet section on the other side of the store. Max was looking at his shopping list while Gwen was playing with a hamster and had a shoe box beside her.
Just then, arrived and used his transmodulator on the hamster and a parrot. Ben, Iris, and Sonic came and saw the new mutations. Gwen and Max ran as the giant hamster chased them and had them cornered soon after.
Sonic: "Whoa, what kind of Pet food do they sell here?" He asked as he quietly sneaked away.
: "Behold the genius of ; nothing can stop me from getting what I deserve. Today, I will make history, or should I say prehistory." He declared.
Iris: "I wished you hadn't gone alien to look for that card." She said, slightly worried.
Before Ben could say anything, he and Iris realized that Sonic wasn't with them; the duo looked around to find him, only to see him climbing up a shelf, getting ready to pounce on one of the animals. Iris frantically shook her head while Ben smirked at the hedgehog. Sonic gave them a reassuring nod with a thumbs up.
Sonic: "HIYA!" He said as he jumped off the shelf and landed a double kick on the giant hamster's head.
This caught the hamster's attention as it tried to claw and bite down on the hedgehog, but it kept missing because Sonic was too fast for the mutant.
Max and Gwen: "Sonic!" They yelled.
Sonic: "Don't worry, I got it right where I want it; come and get me, you overgrown gopher, I'm right here." He exclaimed as he continued to taunt the hamster.
But jumped off the amphibian and commanded the frog to attack the hedgehog; the mutant frog then whipped its tongue towards Sonic and caught him by surprise as it wrapped its tongue around him and threw him to a different shelf. Sonic crashed into the frame and quickly recovered from the landing to see that the frog and the hamster would attack him.
Iris and Ben can tell that Sonic is in trouble.
Iris: "Ben, we gotta help Sonic." She whispered.
Ben gave her a nod. And looked to the right and saw a couple of scooters and helmets
Ben: "I don't need to go hero, to stop an overgrown fur ball." He said as he and Iris went up to a couple of scooters, put on a helmet, and threw a ball at the giant hamster, which caught its attention.
Iris: "Come and get us, you oversized gerbil." She taunted while sticking her tongue out toward the hamster.
The two of them raced through the store's aisles before the hamster pounced, knocking over several jars of mustard. As the hamster almost bit Iris, but she ducked at the last second, making the giant hamster crash into a shelf, Ben gave Iris a few hand gestures, and she nodded in understanding. The duo split up into different aisles just as the hamster proceeded to chase after them. Seeing as they split up, it decided to go after Ben, but then he skated over the hamster and used the shelf as a ramp, and the hamster almost ate Ben like a piranha plant. Iris was beside another shelf, and she pushed it, making it tip over just as Ben landed the scooter beside her. Ben was surprised that she somehow managed to knock it over and trap the hamster underneath the two shelves as Iris scratched the back of her head in embarrassment.
Iris: "I ran up to the shelf before I pushed it." She quickly lied, while Ben took off his helmet.
Meanwhile.
Sonic was caught up dealing with the mutant frog, who was trying to devour the hedgehog, but he was too quick for the frog. But when Sonic wasn't looking, he bumped into a dead end; he turned around and saw the frog getting ready to attack Sonic.
Sonic: "Uh-oh." He said, a little worried.
The frog then jumps toward Sonic, extending its tongue toward him, ready to devour him until time freezes.
Sonic narrowed his eyes.
Sonic: "Really?" He asked.
There was no response from the mutant frog nor movement from anywhere else. Only Sonic can move around and speak freely. Which could only mean one thing for the blue blur:
'Time to have some fun!'
Sonic thought as he smirked and sped with his disguise coming off. He runs through the store, looking amazed to see that everything and everyone has stopped. A wide smirk starts to grow on his lips. He rushed over to the frog's tongue, grabbed it, stretched it as far as possible, and tied it around its legs. He ran off and came back with some rope and used it to tie up the rest of its body. For his last act, he ran off again and returned with a bucket of red paint and drew an X on the wall, marking where the frog was going to land. The hedgehog puts his shirt, pants, and hat back on, but not after grabbing a red towel, and does a bull tamer's pose as time resumes back to normal.
The frog fell towards Sonic, who moved out of the way just in time before the mutant slammed into a solid concrete wall, rendering it unconscious.
Sonic: "Olé," He cheered.
Gwen, Max, Iris, and Ben walked by to see that Sonic had taken care of the frog.
Ben: "Uh-huh! That's right, not even a giant hamster or frog can beat the three of us!" He cheered.
Iris: "Right back at ya, Ben," She said as Ben fist-bumped her and Sonic.
The manager: "Clean-up on aisle 6." He said over the intercom.
Then, Animo appeared on top of a shelf near them.
Dr. Animo: "Young fools, you cannot stop me, I'll turn Washington D.C into Washington B.C!" He declared.
Then the mutant parrot flew by, and Animo leaped onto it as it flew out of the skylight, destroying it.
Iris dusted off her shirt and pants and gave out a sigh.
Then, a couple of store employees walked to them.
Employee: "You saved the store; if there's anything I can do to repay you, just say so." He offered.
Ben smiled as he thought about the golden Sumo Slammer card, but before he could say anything he wanted, Max picked him up.
Ben: "Grandpa, I was finally about to score the Gold Sumo Slammer card." He complained.
Max: "No time for that now, Ben. We've got a giant parrot to follow." Said Max as he and Sparky went for the RV.
Gwen smirked as Ben looked disappointed and followed them. Iris, on the other hand, she felt bad for Ben, she didn't like the sad look in his eyes, so she went up to one of the store's employees.
Later, after night had fallen, the rust bucket was still chasing Animo, who was riding his parrot.
Ben was in the front seat, looking irritated that he couldn't get the gold Sumo Slammer card. Meanwhile, Iris was sitting beside Gwen, who was researching the team's foe on her laptop, but in Iris's pants pocket, she held the item Ben had been looking for: a gold Sumo Slammer card. And Sonic decides to relax until they find out where Animo is going.
Iris then noticed the shoe box in front of Gwen's laptop and decided to ask her about it.
Iris: "Gwen, what's in that box?" She asked.
Gwen stopped what she was doing and turned to face Iris as she whispered something in her ear.
Gwen: "It's for Sonic; I got him a new pair of shoes so he won't hurt his feet while running." She whispered.
Iris showed Gwen smiled at what she did for Sonic.
Iris: "That's a nice thing for you to do, Gwen; maybe you should give it to him now before something happens." She informed her.
Gwen nodded in agreement and she carefully patted Sonic's head to get his attention. Sonic turned to face the girls who were smiling at him.
Sonic: "Did you guys figure out where Dr. Animo is going." He asked.
Gwen & Iris: "No, not yet." they said in unison.
Sonic just slumped in disappointment.
Iris: "But that's not why we bothered you, Gwen." She cued her.
Gwen: "I got you something for you, here. Take a look." She said as she pushed the shoe box towards Sonic.
Sonic: "What is it?" He asked as he took the box and was about to open it.
He opened it to see a new pair of red and white shoes.
Gwen: "So you won't hurt your feet anymore." She said happily.
Sonic: "Really?" He asked.
Iris: "Mh-hmm." She nodded.
Sonic looks at it emotionally; no one in Sonic's life on earth had ever given him a gift. He felt… flattered.
Sonic: "No one has ever given me a gift before." He said as he smiled before he put on his new footwear. Sonic stands up and does a stationary run before doing a little dance. He spins around before placing both hands on his hips as the girls laugh.
Sonic: "Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho! All right, looking good!" He said proudly.
Max smiled at the chase that was going on.
Max: "Ah, just like the good old days before I retired." He said Reminiscently.
Gwen: "So, what kind of plumber were you, Grandpa?" She asked suspiciously.
Max: "I-uh- a darn good one." He sputtered evasively.
Iris and Sparky then got suspicious looks on their faces.
Iris: "Yeah, how can we chasing after a crazed scientist riding on a giant parrot remind you of fixing toilets?" She asked suspiciously.
Sonic: "A plumber, Longclaw, told me stories about her adventures with the plumbers, but there's no way he's that kind of plumber, But then again, Iris did bring up a good point." He contemplated, starting to feel suspicious about Max as well.
Max then noticed the disappointed look on Ben's face and quickly changed the subject.
Max: "Hey, Ben. Why are you looking so down." He asked.
Ben: "I save an entire Mega Mart from becoming a hamster's chew toy, and what do I get? Nothing, it's not fair!" He complained.
Max: "Being a hero isn't about getting a reward; it's about knowing you did something good. Being a hero is its reward." He explained.
Ben: "Were you reading the greeting cards at the Mega Mart?" He asked.
Max: "We'll, yes. But that's not where I got that from, an old friend of mine told me that a long time ago. " He answered.
Iris: "So Sonic… has fighting bad guys or defeating aliens part of your bucket list? Cuz you might want to check it off." She told him, but he was only confused.
Sonic: "What's a bucket list?" He asked.
Gwen and Iris glanced at each other but decided to tell him.
Gwen: "Uh… a bucket list is a list of things you wanna do before…. You, … you know…. Kick the bucket. " She told him, thinking he'd be upset, but they were surprised to see he was actually smiling.
Sonic: "I never kicked a bucket either, I gotta make my list." He said as he looked around for a pen and paper.
Gwen: "Focus, you can do that later, cause I just found something about this Dr. Animo guy. He was a promising researcher in veterinary science. But he was doing various twisted genetic experiments where he was mutating animals. And when he didn't win his big prize called the Verities Award, he flipped out." She then turned to her cousin with a smirk.
Gwen: "Anything about this sound familiar, Ben?" She asked.
Max looked out the window and saw the parrot make a left turn behind some buildings.
Max: "We've lost him, he could be anywhere in Washington D.C." He informed.
Iris: "Or Washington B.C." She stated.
Ben perked up at the 'B.C.' part.
Ben: "That's it, I know where he's going!" he announced.
Ben: "The National History Museum." He said as the six were standing in front of the declared monument.
Ben then leaned down and picked up a giant feather obviously from the giant parrot.
Max: "Something tells me we're on the right track, good thinking, Ben." He congratulated.
Gwen: "Guess even a doofus can surprise you once in a while." She complimented.
Ben: "And you should know." He shot back as they walked inside.
The group made their way into the B.C. section of the museum when Sparky picked up something with his mouth and brought it to Iris. When she took it from sparky it was from the Mega Mart.
Then they saw Animo by the mammoth figure. He then sensed them behind him.
Dr. Animo: "You are very persistent, and I hate persistent." He said annoyingly.
Iris: "We know all about you and your freakazoid experiments, Dr. Animo, it's over!" She stated.
Dr. Animo: "Oh, it's only just begun. See I only needed a few components to push my work into phase 2. Reanimation of dormant cells." He said maliciously.
Ben: "Uh, does this guy come with subtitles?" He asked.
Sonic just gave Ben a shrug at that question.
Dr. Animo: "Bringing back life into that which has been long since lifeless! Observe!" He adjusted the dial on his transmodulator and fired the beams at the mammoth, which came back to life with glowing red eyes and then stepped off the stand as Ben, Iris, Gwen, Sparky and Max stepped back in horror. But Sonic wasn't fazed, he just got into a fighting stance and prepared to fight.
: "Behold the genius of Doctor Animo!" He then ran away to another part of the museum.
Iris: "Please tell me the watch is recharged?" She asked hopefully to Ben.
Ben: "You bet it is." He answered as he looked to the Omnitrix and turned his attention to Iris, Gwen, Max and Sparky.
Ben: "You guys get Animo, We'll handle jumbo." He said as he slammed hourglass and was surrounded in green light as the transformation occurred.
The watch sinked into Ben's wrist and his blood vessels expanded rapidly before spreading across his entire body, which eventually reached his eyes, which he clenched shut and when he shot them open again, they were fully golden. A second pair of arms shot out just below his primary pair and his muscle mass grew exponentially. His feet morphed themselves to only have two toes and his skin turned red with a few black crests on his face and grew a second pair of eyes beneath the original ones. He wore a white and black one-piece jumpsuit before he shot a pose.
Ben looked at himself in awe.
Ben: "Woah." He said awestrucked.
Sonic: "Heh, heh, well, four arms are better than two. Hey that doesn't sound like a bad name for this one, Four Arms, what do you think" He asked.
Four Arms: "Hmm, it's not a bad name if you ask me, now let's take care of Dumbo." He said getting in his fighting stance.
Sonic: "Alright, Let's rumble biggie." He said before they both charged forward.
Four arms grabbed the mammoth's tusks, and brought it down to the ground while Sonic ran away.
Sparky, Gwen, Iris & Max went to stop Animo only to be stopped dead in their tracks by the mutant parrot. It glared at Iris.
The mutated bird charged towards Iris, but Gwen got in its way with a spear in hand. The redheaded Tennyson confidently approached the bird as she twirled the spear in her hands with great coordination, making the bird twitch uncomfortably. Once she had reached a good enough distance, Gwen gripped the spear's end and slammed it on the bird's head. The mutated bird squawked and stumbled deliriously, then Gwen went in for the finishing blow by spinning around and breaking the spear across the bird's face. In panic, the mutated bird ran away with its tail feathers literally between its legs.
Gwen: "Ben and Sonic aren't the only ones with skills." She said proudly.
Max stared open mouthed at his granddaughter.
Iris: "Thanks, Gwen." She said thankfully.
Gwen: "No problem, come on, let's get Dr. Freakazoid." She said as they ran down the hallway.
However, they arrived too late as Animo used his transmodulator on the Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton. It then regenerated flesh and blood as it stepped off of the exhibit. It was still missing some chunks of skin, showing the muscle.
Meanwhile.
Four Arms was tossed back into the wall, leaving a dent as he saw the mammoth charged him. Sonic saw this and jumped from the balcony as fast as he could and slammed down on the mammoth, who shrieked in pain and thrashed around wildly with Sonic hanging on for dear life. Four arms ran in and punched it in its trunk. Unfortunately, it wrapped it around him and tossed him into another dinosaur skeleton, leaving him dazed.
Four arms: "You are going down, Peanuts!" He declared.
Sonic was then thrown off of the mammoth and crashed into a stuffed saber tooth tiger.
Sonic: "Okay that's it, I just about had enough of this 2002, ice age reject!" He shouted. As he hopped onto Four Arm's upper left hand and started to spin dash.
Four arms: "I like the way you think, pal." He said as he tossed the hedgehog like a javelin and he slammed right into the mammoth, who then crashed into the pole and it collapsed on top of it.
Sonic stumbled out, woozy from spinning around so much.
Four arms: "Are you okay?" He asked.
Sonic: "Wake me up, when the pancakes are ready mommy." He said with a look as he then collapsed on the museum floor.
Four arms then ran over and picked up the dizzy hedgehog and ran towards where the others were.
Speaking of which, they ducked as the T-Rex's tail demolished the entryway they were standing by as Animo rode it to leave the museum.
Dr. Animo: "I'd love to stay, but I have to claim the award I so richly deserve!" He said as he jumped on the T-Rex.
The T-Rex crashed through the wall towards the hall where the award was being given out.
As Gwen, Iris, Sparky and Max stood there, stunned, the mutant parrot was back and it wasn't too happy to see Iris and Gwen again. The massive bird swooped down, grabbed the girls by the shoulders with its talons and flew out of the museum with its preys screaming in its claws. Max and Sparky wanted to chase after the bird, but the bird was too high so he went with the next big thing.
Max: "Ben, Sonic!" He called.
Four Arms ran out of the ruined wall, as Sonic who had recovered at this point, peeked out with a gasp as Four Arms leapt up using his strong legs to try to catch the parrot.
Max picked up a note that was left behind and pondered.
The parrot let out a yelp and looked back to see Four Arms gripping onto it, loosening a few of its feathers.
Four Arms: "No, 'bye bye' for you, Birdy!" He declared.
The birdy then shook him off for a few seconds as the watch timed out as he fell to the earth. Luckily for him, he was still transformed when he hit the ground, leaving behind a massive crater as the watch timed out in a flash of red light. Ben crawled out of the crater to see the parrot fly away with his cousin and friend in tow.
Ben: "Gwen, Iris!" He yelled.
Then, Max, Sonic and Sparky, came driving up in the Rust Bucket.
Max: "Somebody call for a taxi?" He asked as Ben got in.
Sonic: "Don't lose sight of it this time!" He ordered as the RV sped away.
Gwen: "Spend a summer with your grandpa, honey. It'll be an adventure." She mocked her mother with a deadpan look and her arms crossed as the bird flew away, grasping her backpack with its claws.
Iris: "Really Gwen, you're gonna mock your Mom over this, I just hope Ben is ok after a fall like that."She said in concern.
Gwen: "I'm sure he's fine." She said not too worried.
Meanwhile.
On the ground, the T-Rex roamed through the streets, throwing the civilians in panic as they ran away from it as it crushed a bus with its feet. Then, it let out a terrifying roar.
Dr. Animo: "I do love my work." He said from the beast's neck.
The mutant bird had moved Gwen from its talons to its beak, however, Iris was still in its talons.
Both girls were freaking out, but then Gwen came up with an idea. She pulled out her cell phone from her pocket. Iris stared at her in surprise.
Iris: "You had a cellphone, all along!" She said, sounding clearly upset.
Gwen gave Iris a nervous expression, while Iris glared at her.
Gwen: "Well, my mom said to only use it in case of an emergency. I guess this qualifies." She said as she dialed a number and held the phone to her ear.
The Rust Bucket sped through the streets as Ben, Sonic, Sparky and Max looked for the parrot.
Ben: "No sign of beak breath." He said looking from the window.
Max: "There can't be that many places for a parrot the size of an elephant to roost. Here, look at what Dr. Animo left behind." He said before handing them the note.
Sonic Took it and he and Ben looked at it.
Ben & Sonic: "Dr. Kelly accepts the Verities Award." They read in unison.
Ben: "He's gonna finally pick up his award, we've gotta stop him!" He declared.
Max: "First thing's first, we've gotta find Gwen and Iris." He informed them.
Then, the phone on the dashboard rang and it showed that Gwen was calling them.
Sonic, Ben and Max: "Gwen!" They exclaimed.
Ben: "Hang on, girls. We're coming." He yelled.
Iris and Gwen were hanging to the monument's flagpole for dear life.
Gwen: "I can't hold on much longer." She said as she lost her grip on the phone, which came pummeling down to the earth.
The RV came to a screeching halt in the shadow of the monument, Sonic, Ben, Sparky and Max rushed out of the Rust Bucket to see the phone smashing into pieces.
Max: "Oh no, Gwen and Iris are next." He said worried.
Ben and Sonic looked at the Omnitrix and felt relief when the watch's faceplated glowed green. Ben wasted no time in raising the core and cycled through the aliens until he found the right one.
Ben: "Not if we can help it." He declared.
Sonic: "It's hero time!" He shouted.
Ben slammed the hourglass and was surrouded in bright green light. The watch sank into his arm as the skin hardened and turned into a green exoskeleton with the hand Becoming black with three clawed fingers. His head morphed, growing four golden insectoid eyes that blinked vertically and his face turned black. His body reshaped, becoming insectoid, as six green insect legs grew from his back, and his abdomen grew a large black stinger. The watch symbol appeared on his forehead as he flapped his wings in a pose.
Max: "Ugh, I haven't smelled something that bad in a while." He said as he covered his nose in disgust.
Sonic: "Ugh, you and I both Max, talk about a stinkfly." He said as he mirrored what Max was doing in disgust.
Sparky just stared in surprise as he also covered his nose with his right paw.
Sparky: "I can't believe it, he turned into a Lepidopterran. They have a natural odor-like stink that comes from the oil that keeps their exoskeleton joints moving, but what they use to defend themselves is their extremely sharp tail and that green, slimy liquid they can shoot from out of their eyestalks and mouth." He thought.
Ben: "Just what I wanted, let's go Sonic." He said happily to him as Sonic hopped on Ben's back and stood on it before he flapped his wings and flew up towards the monument.
Gwen and Iris finally lost their grip on the flagpole and started falling down, only to be saved by Ben and Sonic.
The girls looked at each other and then at what had caught them, and saw the insectoid alien.
Gwen: "Butterfly?" She asked
Ben and Sonic: "That's stinkfly." they said in unison.
Iris: "INCOMING!" She shouted.
Stinkfly turned around as the mutated bird swooped down from behind and snapped its beak at stinkfly's tail, but the lepidopterran pulled up and dodged at the last second. The mutant parrot curved around the air, flying in a direct course for Stinkfly. The Lepidopterran pulled up sharply at a vertical angle, which scared the living daylights out of Gwen, but Iris and Sonic were screaming in excitement which surprised the redhead.
Gwen: "You two are actually enjoying this?!" She yelled in shock.
Iris & Sonic: "Yeah!" They said in unison.
Iris: "It's like a rollercoaster without the rails." She said in excitement.
Sonic: "And this is pretty fun to me." He said giving the girls a thumbs up.
Stinkfly: "Hold on." He warned.
As he looped back around behind the Washington Monument with Animo's flying pet close behind.
Stinkfly did a quick barrel roll and let go of Gwen and Iris, while Sonic wrapped his arms around stinkfly's neck. After a few moments he stopped spinning to let the girls land safely on his back with Gwen landing behind Iris, while Sonic stood back up on Stinkfly's back. The mutated bird glided in from the side and snapped its talon at the four of them, only just missing when Stinkfly did a quick dive out of its reach.
Sonic: "Whoa, Hey, WATCH IT, YOU OVER SIZED WOODPECKER!" He yelled.
The flying beast screeched and flapped harder to increase its speed; Stinkfly doing the same. But unfortunately Gwen was not feeling so well as the high speed was making her stomach very uncomfortable.
Gwen: "Ooh, I think I'm gonna be sick." She said queasily.
Stinkfly: "Spew on me and you better learn how to fly quick." He said before pulling a sharp turn and headed back to the monument.
Iris: "This is the best ride I've ever been on." she said excitedly.
Sonic: "I can agree with that Iris, Whoo-hoo!" He cheered.
Stinkfly: "At least you two are enjoying this. He said with a smile.
Meanwhile.
Max and Sparky had made their way to the top floor of the Washington Monument
Max: "Like it would've killed the founding fathers to install an elevator." He said, gasping for breath in exhaustion.
He then heard Sparky barking towards Max to get his attention, he looked towards the dog to see the fight from the window.
Stinkfly and Sonic saw his grandfather leaning out of the window signaling him.
Sonic whispered something to Stinkfly, after a few moments he gave Sonic a nod before he turned his head to face the girls.
Sonic: "Ok here's the thing, we can't shake Cracker Breath, we got a plan, but you two are going to have to trust us!" He told Gwen and Iris.
Gwen: "Trust you two?" She said incredulously.
Iris rolled her eyes at what Gwen said before giving Sonic a quick hug and rubbed the back of Stinkfly's neck with her right hand.
Iris: "I trust you, guys." She told Ben and Sonic.
Sonic: "At least someone treats us nicely." He said as he gave Gwen a look that said 'seriously.'
Then, Stinkfly stopped in the air and let Iris and Gwen fall forward off his back while Sonic wrapped his arms around Stinkfly's neck. Stinkfly snatched them by their shoulders before they could fall too far before looping up into the air and going for a sharp dive on the side of the monument. The Lepidopterran saw Max holding out his arms waiting to catch them and dropped off Iris and Gwen in the split second when they crossed each other. Max held the two girls with all his strength. Gwen felt relieved for the first time since the incident at the museum…until the mutant bird started flying towards them.
Dr. Animo's pet opened its beak to devour them, but Stinkfly used its tail to launch Sonic towards the giant bird.
Sonic: "POLLY WANT A SMACKER!" He shouted as spin-dashed and slammed it against the wall and the giant bird crashed hard on the ground.
Sonic was about to fall until Stinkfly caught the hedgehog by the shoulders and helped him get back on his back.
Stinkfly: "You guys ok?" He asked.
Max: "Go, stop Animo before he hurts anyone else." He shouted.
Iris: "We'll be fine, don't worry about us." She informed them.
Gwen: "Speak for yourself." Gwen told Iris, who was feeling a little better.
The duo silently nodded in agreement and flew off into the night sky.
At Kelly Industries, Dr. Kelly was giving a tour to two visitors. They were at the trophy case where he was presenting the Verities Award that he won.
Kelly: "Of course it was an honor just to be nominated along with a group of distinguished scientists." He said to the visitors.
Suddenly the room shook violently like an earthquake. And then, Dr. Animo and his T-Rex burst through the window, shattering it to pieces. The Tyrannosaurs stopped as Animo glared down at his rival.
Dr. Animo: "Kelly, I believe you have something of mine." He said as he jumped down from the dinosaur and seized the award.
Dr. Animo: "I'd like to thank the committee for this honor!" He announced.
Then, when the T-Rex was about to eat Kelly alive, Stinkfly tossed Sonic at the dinosaur and the hedgehog kicked it across the face. The giant beast retaliated by slamming him with its tail and Sonic collided with the wall and slumped to the ground, dazed.
Sonic: Dang, now I know how that elephant felt." He emphasized.
Stinkfly then noticed the T-Rex picking up Kelly by the jacket of his suit as the other scientists stood back helpless.
Kelly: "Somebody help me." He screamed.
Stinkfly: "Just when I thought this hero stuff will be easy." He said as he took off.
The T-Rex tossed Kelly up and opened its jaws to eat him, but just before Kelly landed in them, Stinkfly flew by and caught him.
Dr. Animo: "What are you pests? He asked as he glared at the Lepidopterran and the mobian.
Stinkfly: "I am Stinkfly! He announced.
Sonic: "And I'm Sonic, Sonic the hedgehog!" He announced.
Stinkfly: "And we're here to kick some tail." He said as he set Kelly down.
Dr. Animo: "I'd like to see you try!" He shouted.
Sonic: "Bring it!" He shouted back.
Animo angrily fired his Transmodulator beam at them as the duo went in opposite directions to avoid it.
Stinkfly fired streams of green slime from his eyestalks that hit him in the side of the face. Sonic used this as an opportunity to attack the distracted scientist, he sped towards Animo and punched him in the face which sent Animo stumbling back as he dropped the trophy.
Dr. Animo: "No!" He shouted helplessly as it shattered on impact with the ground.
Sonic: "Yoink!" He mocked as he snatched the device from his head and tossed it to Stinkfly.
Dr. Animo: "My Transmodulator!" He yelled.
Stinkfly then tossed it against the ground, causing it to send out a wave that reversed its effects. Sonic quickly got off The T-Rex before it slowly decomposed back into a skeleton and it broke apart on top of Animo.
Sonic: "You think we should get out of here?" He asked.
Stinkfly: "Well, considering the circumstances, yeah, we should get out of here." He answered.
Sonic gave Stinkfly a nod.
Sonic: "Right behind you, Stinkfly." He said as he jumped back on Stinkfly's back and the duo flew away.
Back at the Washington Monument, Max, Iris, Sparky and Gwen backed up helplessly as the mutant parrot cornered them. But suddenly, the wave hit it and it reverted back to a normal parrot that perched on Gwen's arm.
Gwen: "Don't even try to kiss up to me now." She said while glaring at the bird.
In the morning.
Ben, Iris, Sparky, Gwen and Max stood with a smirk as the cops took Animo away.
Dr. Animo: "Let me go, I deserve that award, I've got it coming to me, I want it!" He shouted as he was loaded into the cop car.
Ben: "For some reason, that sounds kind of familiar." He said, recalling how he was.
As the Rust Bucket rode away, the kids and Sonic were discussing their adventure in Washington D.C. with Sonic sitting beside Gwen on one side and Iris sitting beside Ben as Sparky curled up beside her.
Ben: "I didn't get that Gold Sumo Slammer card, but at least I snagged a trophy from Animo. Besides, saving the city from Doctor Wacko is its own award." He said as he placed a piece of the Transmodulator into a cardboard box, which he was now going to use as a trophy box.
Gwen: "Don't forget you two saved Iris and I, thanks." She said smiling
Sonic just smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up.
Iris: "Speaking of which, where were you Sonic, I thought you would've looked forward to seeing the cops take Dr. Animo away?" She asked.
Sonic: "Trust me, I would've loved to see, senior psychopath get taken away, but I was running all over the city searching for my rings." He informed them.
Ben, Gwen and Iris almost forgot about that, but they were a little sad at knowing that sooner or later when they find his rings that he'll be leaving earth.
Iris: "H-*Clears her throat*Have you found them?" She asked, trying not to sound sad.
Sonic just shook his head a little.
Sonic: "Sadly no, I looked everywhere and couldn't find them, I guess my rings are not in Washington D.C." He said as he pulled out his list of states to look for the rings and X'ed out Washington state.
Gwen, Ben, and Iris smiled just a little bit so Sonic wouldn't notice, they were happy to know that they would get to spend a little more time with their blue alien friend, but then Gwen remembered something and decided to remind Sonic about it.
Gwen: "Sonic, aren't you forgetting something?" She asked.
Sonic raised an eyebrow while Ben and Iris just watched them talk to each other.
Sonic: "Like what?" He asked.
Gwen: "You know, the list I told you that you'll have to do later." She implied.
Sonic thought about it for a few moments, but then it clicked.
Sonic: "Oh yeah, my bucket list. I was so caught up with all the excitement last night that I completely forgot about it. I'm going to get started on it right now." He said before quickly running around the RV for a second before returning with a pencil and a notebook.
He begins to write some stuff down while murmuring to himself.
Sonic: "Uh-huh, hmm-mmm. Oh-ho-ho-ho, Sonic! Uh-huh, Uh-huh…"
Sonic's face quickly changed from happiness and excitement to sad. He was now, remembering about leaving Earth forever. The kids took notice of his change of expression.
Iris: "What's the matter?" She asked.
Sonic: "There's so much stuff I haven't done…and now that I'm leaving Earth forever…I guess I'll miss my chance. He explained while it looked like he was about to shed a tear.
Ben: "Hey, it's ok." He told Sonic. And that's when Gwen got an idea.
Gwen: "Tell you what…wherever we stop at, we'll do three things from on your list." She told him, to which he brightened up.
Sonic: "Really, you guys are gonna bucket list with me?" He asked, to which Gwen turned to face Ben and Iris.
Iris and Ben looked at each other and nodded in agreement.
Ben: "Definitely." He said, smiling.
Iris gave him a nod as she smiled at Sonic.
Iris: "I'm just surprised Gwen's gonna do this with us." She said as she shrugged her shoulders.
Gwen: "Well, we're still on summer vacation, and he did save my life twice since he's been with us, so I owe him that much." She told Iris, and Sonic smiled and hugged her.
Sonic: "You won't regret it" He told her, to which she smiled and hugged him back.
Then Sparky barked and ran over to Sonic and started licking his face to cheer him up.
Sonic: "Stop boy, that is very gross!" He exclaimed while laughing, and Ben, Gwen, and Iris at how the two were getting along.
Iris: "By the way, Ben. I have something for you." She said as she showed Ben a Gold Sumo Slammer card, much to the boy's shock as he took it.
Ben: "Where'd you get it?" He asked
Iris: "Well, I-" She started but was interrupted by Ben.
Ben: "You know, don't answer that. It doesn't matter, You're the best friend in the world!" He said as he gave Iris a huge hug.
Iris: "And you're the best friend I've ever had." She said as she hugged Ben back, smiling.
