A/N: Here is Chapter 17!

Canalave City: A port city that is connected to a canal, which is great for the boating industry of Eastern Sinnoh. Even though there is a Pokémon Gym, the city is well known for exotic and foreign culture. For Byron, the Canalave City Gym Leader, he was so excited to be doing this expedition that reflected the city, besides giving the Mine Badge to fellow trainers that passed on by.
Byron learned a few weeks ago about another fossil site off of Iron Island. He was super excited that he even talked to his son, Roark, who did an excavation like this a few weeks ago in Oreburgh. Excited, he was looking forward to seeing trainers, beginning or advanced, on the ship. His black eyes looked at the group as his maroon spiky hair was illuminated by the sun. He also wore a white tank top with grey pants as he carried his shuttle.
"Yes!" he said, "I LOVE FOSSIL HUNTING!"
As he raised his shovel, his Bastiodon grinned in response. Byron turned around, noticing his Bastiodon was on the ship. It was a silver and blue ship that was the size of a large craft, but not the size of a cruise ship. Grinning, Byron managed to climb the rope attached to it as he got on the ship, avoiding the crowds of people. As he got on, he turned around as he saw someone familiar. He had green eyes with black hair that had spiked ends. He had a scruffy facial complexion with a red shirt and black jeans. He had black and silver sneakers as he walked over.
"Mr. Cartwright! How are you?"
"I am doing good Byron," he said, revealing to be Adam Cartwright, "How's your son?"
"My son is doing great! Running the museum and just following his good old dad. How are your brothers?" he asked.
"Well," said Adam, raising an eyebrow, "Pa is fine. Eric finished getting his Sinnoh League badges, so we will see him at the stadium in a month. Joe has been missing lately."
"Isn't the younger brother that went away to train in Hoenn?" he asked.
"Yeah," said Adam, "He came back to the ranch and then decided to leave on his own. He resides in Orebrugh now."
"Aw, shucks. I was hoping that if Eric was able to beat me… I hoped to face young Joe!" shouted Byron, "After all… I LOVE FAMILY BATTLES!"
Adam raised his hands as he looked at Byron, "We get it. I am just glad to take the day off and go on this fossil dig. Thanks for organizing this!"
Ding-Ding!
"Attention, Fossil Diggers. We are setting sail for Iron Island, please keep all exits as we disembark. Have fun!"
Within minutes, the anchor shrunk back into the ship and the ropes were untied. The engines started to go as the ship started to back away from the port. Adam turned around to watch Canalave City in the distance. He turned around as he was looking at Byron, who was being greeted by Pokémon Trainers. Adam turned to notice a black platform with speakers, a keyboard, a drum set and a few people dressed in black, except for one. One was wearing a pink fur coat with red and white pants and black boots. She also had a pink fluffy T-shirt. She had yellow fluffy hair down her shoulders that was blowing in the wind. She turned around as she looked at Byron, who walked over.
"Are you ready to provide us entertainment?" he asked, turning to see the woman trying to put her microphone on.
"Yes I am," she said, "Sorry, I was setting things up."
"Ah," said Byron, "I love that we get to have some entertainment. We all need to feel alive!"
The artist looked at him as she put her hand on his shoulder, "Give me five minutes."
Byron stepped off the stage as she turned around, looking at the others. The others, dressed in black, nodded as they grabbed guitars or hopped on keys. There was another person that was sitting there. He had a black and purple t-shirt with grey pants and brown shoes. He had black hair and brown eyes with green earrings.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
"Yes," he said, getting his drum sticks, "Let's make some music, dear."
"What about YOU?" she asked, looking at another guy. He had black spiky hair with brown eyes as he wore a green vest over it. He had blue jeans and white shoes. He also had a piece of wheat sticking out of his mouth. He placed his in-ear headphones in his head as he grabbed his guitar.
"This better work," he said, "You haven't led anything in a long time."
"Relax, cactus-breath," she said, putting her in-ears in to her head. She walked over as she snapped her fingers. The microphone system and all of the other instruments were turned on with the help of some of her friends. Everyone turned around as the woman stepped forward.
"Hi everyone!" she said, "My name is Carly and welcome to my band! Yeah, we're a band hired by our amazing Canalave City Gym Leader and we wanted to provide some entertainment. We do have a tip jar… Mack?"
Mack, the guy in the green vest, raised the glass jar, "It is a commandment, not a suggestion."
"Yes," Carly said, "Let's do it!"
Mack turned around as he opened his laptop, pressing the track. Immediately, the music started going on. Everyone turned around as they were standing and dancing, impressed by what Carly was doing. Mack was playing a few chords on the guitar, turning to see the guy on the drum set, nodding his head.
Half past twelve
And I'm watching the late show in my flat all alone,
Wondering how to destroy Jubilife City.
The audience turned around, confused, as the dancing stopped. Carly and Mack continued the song as she continued. Byron was also confused as the other trainers were angrily looking. Adam raised an eyebrow as she continued singing.
Sneeze, please as I look at my best friend, who infects everything.
And it makes me happy to see cringing (Crying, too)
There's not a soul out there,

Immediately, the drummer began to increase his drumstick patterns, channeling it into the speakers. Purple and black blasts of energy surrounded the boat as everyone cringed.

As the trainers were knocked out, Carly and Mack turned around as flashes of light surrounded them. Carly turned into Cremelia as she turned around, "That was excellent!"
Mack, who turned into Maracturne, looked at her, "You need a new single. Sinitis is dead, remember?"
"Yeah, but that's the only song that makes things groovy," Creamelia said, sighing as she turned to the drummer. The drummer began to glow in a black aura as he transformed into a mega-sized MisMagi Miner with Graveler legs and arms. He also had a silver pickaxe. The shadow hat was actually made from stone as he turned around to look. He also had a gold tooth in his mouth, "We will work on a new song later, honey. I am sure we can figure it out… after we carry out Ferro Fett's plan."
"True!"
Cremelia and Maracturne turned around as Turnchou arrived with a tube around his waist, "You left me behind! Those Tentacruel wanted me… I had to shock the whole entire river system and make them faint!"
"Great… the last thing we need is a news headline," said Cremelia, grabbing Turnchou, "Did Shockhound get the excavation site set?"
"Yes…," said Turnchou, "The Mooks are there to help facilitate."
"Excellent: Magi Miner, the Fossil Reaper… we are ready."
Magi Miner laughed as he looked at all of them. He turned around as he looked at all of them, knocked out, including Byron and Adam. He laughed as he saw Iron Island ahead, "Time for some fun."
Chapter 17: Cartwright Maneuvers
It was a quiet day at the Oreburgh Fitness Center for the rangers, dressed in their own workout clothes. Joe and Grayson were doing leg day at the Fitness Center, doing front stepping and static lunges while Grayson's Ampharos and Joe's Zebstrika started doing endurance training. As the two of them continued to do their workout, Lisa and Leona were doing yoga with their Pokémon. Leona's Cinderace was trying to follow what Lisa's Scyther was trying to do. Scyther laughed as Cinderace was stuck in a pretzel like formation.
"Aw, Cinderace!" said Leona, looking over as she was trying to do a baby cobra, "Flexibility takes time my dear."
Lisa turned around as she looked at Scyther as he placed his blades on something soft, not piercing the floor. He then went to do a split as he went to stretch, Scyther screamed in joy as Cinderace was stuck trying to do a split. The mantis Pokémon had some flexibility.
Atticus was pumping iron on the bench, doing chest presses. As he finished his set, he turned around as he walked over. He gave his Pokémon a rest day as he walked toward the team. Joe and Grayson finished their set as they turned to the blue ranger.
"So, what's going on, bros?" asked Atticus.
"Nothing really," said Grayson, turning to Joe, who was also giving a huge response, "Just lunging."
"I get it," said Atticus, folding his arms, "So, Joe… when can we go over to the ranch?"
Joe turned around as he looked at Atticus, "You want to come to the ranch?"
"Yeah!" he said, "It's not every day we get to go to Solaceon Town and your father is like… one of the top ranchers in the world."
Joe sighed as he looked at Atticus. He shrugged as he turned around to grab his backpack, "Well, if my family and I were on good terms, sure."
"Good terms?" asked Grayson, turning around as he looked at the black ranger. Joe sighed as he turned to them, getting a bottle of water. Joe shrugged as he went to continue, "Well, before all of this happened… meaning Ferro Fett, I was going to go to Hoenn originally to help fight whatever was going on. So, I snuck out and did not tell pa where I was. He then called me and I told him I was residing in Oreburgh City doing an internship on fossils while 'studying' with Roark. He chewed me out and told me to not return and I was a disgrace to the family name."
"Oof," Grayson responded as he placed his hand on his shoulder, "What about Eric and Adam?"
"Adam and Eric… well I haven't spoken to them," said Joe, sighing, raising an eyebrow, "The last thing I want them to know is that I am actually involved in this war against bounty hunters."
"Well, trying to protect family is important," Atticus responded calmly, "Especially when your dad is the top rancher. Ferro Fett would make him an easy target."
"Pretty much," said Joe, looking at the blue ranger with agreement. Grayson, curious, looked over as he turned around, "You should've moved to Johto. They would've never known."
Joe shrugged his shoulders as he turned around to speak to them, "Yeah, true."
The three rangers went to grab their stuff, finishing for the day and recalling their Pokémon, only for their Dino Coms to activate. Atticus raised his smart watch over as Lisa and Leona huddled with them, "We read you."
"Rangers, there's a disturbance on Iron Island. I need you to investigate," said Drake.
"We're on our way," said Leona, looking at Atticus, "Iron Island?"
"Iron Island is off the coast of Canalave," Joe said, "It is a highly attracted place for finding fossils. Granted it's part of three islands, two that are a mystery."
"Well," said Atticus, turning around, "It could only mean one thing… they are on the hunt for the last two fossils."
"Speaking of fossils… where's Kyland and Mack?" asked Lisa, looking at Leona and the others. Leona shrugged, "Mack is with Roark learning about Pokémon Training. Kyland is searching to find Thomas… because he thinks he took the Skull Fossil. So, it's just the five of us like old times."
"Wonderful," said Joe, turning around as he was running out the door, the other rangers followed as they pushed the exit doors.
Ten minutes later…
A flash of light appeared as the rangers landed on Iron Island, courtesy of using Dino Paradise as a teleportation device. The rangers, still sore from their workout, hid behind rocks as they were observing what was going on. Joe raised a pair of binoculars as he was watching what was going on. He could see humans with pickaxes digging for fossils. As everyone was digging, he could see a few Mooks, yelling at them.
"Wow, team," said Joe, looking at the Mooks, "Looks like Ferro Fett has made a camp to dig for fossils."
"What?" asked Leona, looking at the binoculars. She turned around as she was looking, "Wow… and they don't even know. They don't look like their resisting."
Lisa turned around as she looked at the binoculars, "It looks like… wait…"
As she zoomed in closer, she could see a cage close by. Zooming in, she could see a Bronzor, Steelix and a Bastiodon crying in pain. She turned around as she looked at them, "If I'm not mistaken, why is there a Bastiodon in pain?"
"Bastiodon?" asked Atticus, asking for the binoculars. As he received them, he looked at the binoculars, "Oh… Byron's Pokémon."
"Byron?" asked Joe, "Roark's dad?"
"Yeah," said Atticus, "Looks like we have to save Byron."
Grayson turned around as he went to examine the area. As he turned around, he crept around to touch something hot and metallic. Grayson backed up as he saw Turnchou, crouching with them.
"Having fun, rangers?"
"That was so creepy!" Grayson said loudly.
Immediately, the rangers turned around as Turnchou grinned as he looked at them. Leona struck a fighting pose as she looked at Turnchou. Turnchou grinned as he looked at them, "This is going to be fun!"
He then eyed at the jewelry Leona was wearing, "Interesting… I think I may have seen something like that before."
"Enough with the chatter," Joe said, before he could finish his thought. He turned to see someone familiar walking with a bag of fossils. He froze as his face looked at Joe. His eyes were bright purple as he looked at him. He brought his pickaxe and turned around. Joe turned around as he looked at Turnchou, "You snake…"
"You know him?" he asked.
Joe turned around as he stretched out his Fossil Blaster, "Let my brother go…"
The rangers turned around, noticing Joe's older brother, continuing his excavation. Turnchou laughed as he looked at them. Snapping his fingers, Cremelia and Maracturne also arrived with the Mooks.
"You want your brother back? You have to stop us first!" said Maracturne, aiming his cactus gun directly at Joe's face, "Or your Energy Crystals."
Without thinking, Joe pulled the trigger, knocking Maracturne off balance. Maracturne released green waves of needles. The five of them dodged the attack. As Joe went to dodge, Maracturne shot him in the arm. Joe turned around as he saw a needle in his left arm. Pulling it out, he turned around as he looked at the rangers.
"Rangers, let's Poké Battle!"
"Fossil Chargers, Energize!"
Pressing the buttons on the Fossil Chargers, the rangers did a little dance, spinning around as they had their Fossil Blasters in hand. Opening them, the rangers placed their Fossil Chargers in the Fossil Blasters.
Tyrantrum Charger, Energize!
Armaldo Charger, Energize!
Carracosta Charger, Energize!
Kabutops Charger, Energize!
Bastiodon Charger, Energize!
The rangers spun the blasters. A golden aura surrounded each blaster as they struck their blasters in the air, "Unleash the Power!"
Pulling the trigger, the Prehistoric Pokémon were unleashed as they landed on the rangers. A white glow surrounded them as their suits arrived. The Mooks hopped down as they went to strike. The rangers all split into five different areas, fighting the Mooks. Leona used her Fossil Blaster to shoot down the Mooks. Flipping backwards, she destroyed a few more as they landed on the ground. Joe combined his Fossil Saber and Fossil Blaster into his Fossil Gun. Joe pulled the trigger as a blast of black bullets struck out, piercing the Mooks. He turned around as Maracturne went to pull the trigger, only for Joe to shoot him down. Maracturne yelled as his cactus submachine gun flew toward the ground. Maracturne screamed as he went to go pick it up. Joe dashed forward as he went to shoot his weapon down. Maracturne turned around as he threw his fist. A green aura struck Joe as a Needle Arm attack smacked Joe to the ground.
Atticus and Grayson flipped forward with their Fossil Sabers, slashing the Mooks down. Atticus turned around as he went to slash the field of them. Grayson turned around as he flipped over, slashing the Mooks as well. Both rangers turned around as they also used their Fossil Blasters.
"Dino Armor, engage!"
"Carracosta Shield!"
"Kabutops Slasher!"
Immediately, blue and green energy surrounded their weapons as they destroyed a whole field of Mooks.
Lisa used her Fossil Gun to eliminate the Mooks in her area. She kicked a few of them as she shot more of them. As they all landed on the ground, Cremelia released her cake blaster, shooting pink and white frosting like bullets. Lisa dodged the attack as she turned around as she went to shoot her. Cremelia dodged it as she changed the setting, "Cake Bomber!"
A pink and white cake was released, causing explosions. Lisa flipped forward as she her Bastiodon Drill appeared in her hand. She dug into the ground, heading toward Cremelia. Cremelia screamed as she was hit by the attack. Cremelia screamed as she landed on the ground.
"Good riddance!" she said, "And anything else I can call you…"
She turned around as she took out her Bastiodon Drill. Digging through, she headed straight toward the direction of the captured Pokémon. As the drill exploded through the cage, Steelix, Bronzor and Bastiodon stood in shock as Lisa arrived, "Let's go guys!"
Bronzor floated down to the path. Steelix roared as he used his iron tail to make a bigger hole to dig underground. Bastiodon looked up at Lisa, mesmerized as he was snuggling up to her.
"Surprised to see a Bastiodon-like ranger, aren't you? Come on, let's get you out!" said Lisa.
As they followed the path back to the surface, Lisa arrived just in time to see Magi Miner, "Shadow Pick!"
A black aura of his pickaxe swung across as Lisa used her Bastiodon Drill to block. Magi Miner floated across as he slashed her across the stomach. Landing on the ground, Lisa turned around as she had her Bastiodon Drill. Pressing the button, the drill turned into a blaster, "Flash Cannon!"
A silver blast of energy struck, only for Magi Miner to dig into the ground. A tomb-like tablet appeared as the attack went back toward Lisa's armor. Sparks flew as Lisa fell to the ground. Joe turned around as he looked to see what was going on.
"Lisa!" shouted Joe, only to see Turnchou in his presence. Turnchou grinned as he used his magnet blaster, "You're not going anywhere."
"Get out of my way, junkie. I have a ranger to help," said Joe.
"Hmm… well, seeing that our boss almost killed your friends… they are going to need all the help you can get," said Turnchou.
Joe clenched his fists, "What do you mean?"
Turnchou laughed as he turned around, "Oh, dude. That attack in Slateport City… I found out it wasn't a mystery. Your Hoenn friends are lucky to be alive. Don't know about their… zords, but let's just say once we're done with you. Hoenn is defenseless and your friends will die."
Turnchou grinned as he raised an amber crystal, "They even left this behind. From what I heard, it has secret powers. I'm going to be looking for these… they seem to be more valuable."
"I am not going to let you harm anyone else… nor your boss," said Joe, raising his Fossil Blaster, "Now, get out of my way!"
As he pulled the trigger, a tomb like tablet appeared again, reflecting the blast back. Joe was hit as he landed on the ground. The rangers turned around as Joe went over to fight Magi Miner himself. Magi Miner released a shadow like shovel to smack Joe in the face. Joe blocked it as he went to strike, only for a shadow attack to appear. However, as he dodged it, the attack was going straight to Adam and Byron, who were still in a trance. Leona jumped up as she blocked the attack with her Tyrantrum Fang, causing explosions. Adam and Byron yelled as they landed on the ground, snapping out of their trance.
"What in the world?" asked Byron, turning to see Magi Miner, "Ugh… Why?! Why are you here?"
He turned around to see his three Pokémon run toward him. Without hesitation, he returned them to their Poké Balls. Adam stood there in disbelief, watching the whole battle unfold. How they broke out of the spell was unknown.
"Oh man," said Adam, turning around to see Magi Miner strike Leona again, only this time the attack was heading straight for Adam. Joe jumped up as he took the hit. Joe yelled as purple and black energy surrounded him as he was knocked to the ground. The others arrived to help him as Joe managed to get up.
"So.. just a tiny bump in the road," said Joe, getting up as he went to fight. The other rangers nodded as they all went to strike. Leona turned around as she saw Turnchou, who had the jewel, "By the way, once I defeat you… I am taking that pendant."
"You are going to have to do more than that if you want it so badly!" Leona shouted.
Magi Miner released black and red shadow coins that hit the six rangers, causing them to explode. The rangers landed on the ground upon impact. Grayson flipped up as he took out his Fossil Saber, only for a slab to erupt in front of him, knocking him down. As he did, he looked up to see Leona slashed by Turnchou. Turnchou laughed as he went to charge his blue and yellow magnet blaster. Leona's Tyrantrum Fang began to charge. She jumped up as she went to strike. Immediately, Magi Miner released a slab, causing Leona to land on the ground. Upon landing on the ground, Turnchou turned the dial to maximum on his blaster.
"Electrode Blaster!"
Yellow and purple beams struck out as Leona was electrocuted by the attack. Landing on the ground, explosions surrounded her as a red aura surrounded her. Unmorphed, Mack and Lisa arrived to help.
"Now… let the fun begin!" he said, "Do it!"
Magi Miner grinned, "Ultimate Shadow Slab!"
Striking the ground, a purplish-grayish slab formed from the sky. Purple and black flames surrounded it as it slammed on top of Leona, Mack and Lisa. The three rangers screamed as they were thrown deep underground.
"Leona!" shouted Joe, walking over there.
As he noticed the slab, the rangers turned around as Magi Miner and Turnchou walked away. Maracturne laughed as he shook his head, noticing the other two trainers who were knocked out from the attack. Joe threw his blaster to the ground, causing a black aura to surround him, morphing him out.
"Great…," he said, looking around. He noticed the other trainers were still working on the fossils. Turning around, Atticus and Grayson looked over as he turned to them, "Well, we are going to have to rescue them again."
"How is the question….," said Joe, looking at the pavement.
"So, little brother…"
Joe froze as his eyes grew. He turned around as he looked to see someone familiar. Adam had his across his chest as he eyed the other rangers. He had a bruise on the back of his head, "Why the hell are you here?"
Joe turned around as he went to walk away. He turned to him as Byron grinned, "Because he LOVES Fossils."
The three rangers turned to him, "Well… right now…"
"Wait," said Byron, looking at the three of you, "Aren't you my son's employees?"
Atticus hesitated as Byron walked closer to him. Gulping, he nodded as Byron began to grin. Atticus looked up as Byron spun around, "YES! THAT'S PERFECT! "
Atticus, Grayson and Joe landed on the ground in reaction to it. Joe turned around as he noticed Cremelia, who was looking down at the top of the mountain. She quickly reached for her device, "Hey, Maracturne and Turnchou! Two humans are talking with the rangers. How did they snap out of it?"
"Well," said Atticus, looking up, noticing Cremelia, "We need to get you two off the island."
"Why? We are excavating!" said Byron, looking at him, "And this is fun!"
"… Yeah… you are excavating for that woman up there!" said Joe, grabbing Byron's shoulders and pointing to Cremelia, who aimed her cake blaster at them. Pink and white beams shot out as the team started dashing. Explosions surrounded them as Byron and Adam made it to the ship. Joe, Atticus and Grayson followed as explosions surrounded them. Getting on the ship, Joe was the last one as he landed on the ship. As they got to the bridge, they managed to finally disembark before the Mooks showed up. Turnchou, who was leading them, stood there as he watched them walk.
"They'll come back to save everyone… and Joseph Cartwright… hee hee hee… this isn't over."
On the ship...
Joe was sitting down on the bench as he looked up to see his own older brother, staring at him across. How was he going to break this to him? He turned around as he noticed the other three rangers helping Byron out on navigating, heading back to Canalave. Joe looked up as his older brother looked at him.
"So, you're fossil digging?" asked Adam, "Not training, fossil digging?"
"In a way," said Joe, looking at him, gulping, "I learned a lot from Roark. He's very good at maintaining things both in the museum and at Oreburgh Gym."
Adam looked at him as he reached into his pocket. Joe looked up as he noticed a white boarding pass. Joe looked up as he noticed what Adam was showing. It was his boarding pass to go to Hoenn from months ago. Adam looked up as he turned to him, "Well, brother. Why did you accidentally drop this on your desk at home? Why were you going to Hoenn, knowing that the region was highly dangerous from what happened a few months ago."
Joe turned around as he looked at his brother, "That is none of your concern."
"None of your concern? It is when my youngest brother is putting his life there on the line. Not to mention, seeing you fight those things today," said Adam.
Joe chuckled, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"When I was out of whatever it was, my head landed on the ground and I saw you fighting some monster… the jig is up Joe. I know it," he said, looking at his right hip, seeing the Fossil Blaster. Joe turned around as he realized that his blaster was exposed. Atticus and Grayson overheard their conversation as they turned to Joe. Joe looked up as he saw Adam's surprised face. The look was surprising, "Wait 'till pa hears about this."
"No," said Joe, coldly, "Absolutely not."
"May I interject?" asked Grayson, looking over, "Adam, it's best that the whole family doesn't know. Doing that will put your family in jeopardy. Not to mention that seeing that your family is popular, Ferro Fett would destroy it."
"It's the only way," said Atticus.
"I'm not letting my little brother go fight these guys. His responsibilities besides being a Pokémon Trainer is helping us on the ranch," said Adam, turning to Joe, "End of story. None of this Poké Ranger crap. You can't play superhero forever."
Joe stepped forward, "Adam, this isn't a game! I have been saving people's lives. I have fought villains that are worse than your average wild Pokémon! And right now, I have three of my closest friends currently underground right now and we never had a chance to break that spell that both you and Byron were under… we have people to save and I don't need your lecture on 'responsibilities'."
Adam looked at him with coldness in his eyes. Joe stood there silently as Grayson went to pull him back. Adam turned around as he looked at Joe, "Really? You think you can handle this."
"Rangers, come in!"
The sound of Drake's voice on the Dino Com sounded urgent as Grayson went to pick up the Dino Com, "Yes sir."
"Report to Dino Paradise immediately. I think Roark found a way to make it work. We will also need Kyland. I'll call for him," said Drake, looking at the screen.
"We're on it," said Joe.
Byron turned around, hearing his son's name. Byron pressed the stop button as the ship stopped. Byron turned around as he walked down the steps, "My son is in on this?"
The three rangers sighed as he looked at them. Atticus nodded as he turned to Byron, "But, he's not fighting. He's been a real help to us when it came to finding fossils. Your son is amazing and he's good at what he does. He even helped create some of our weapons, which reminds me… we should probably see him."
Grayson, Atticus and Joe nodded as they took out their Fossil Blasters. Pressing the buttons, the three rangers aimed for the floor. Pulling the trigger, black, blue and green energy swirled around as they disappeared. Adam shook his head as he turned to Byron, "My brother is a Poké Ranger?"
"My son is helping the rangers… he didn't bring it up in our Gym Leader Meeting with Cynthia," said Byron, sighing, "Welp, I'm not going to mention it."
"Wait… WHAT?" asked Adam.
Meanwhile…
Lisa, Mack and Leona were looking at each other as they noticed the slab that was underneath. Leona turned around as she looked at them, "Great… how do we get out of here?"
"Drill ourselves out," said Lisa, "It's worth a try."
Leona nodded as she took out her Fossil Charger, "Tyrantrum Charger, Energize!"
As she did, she went to press the button. Nothing was going on. She turned around as she looked at the others, "I can't morph."
"We must be so deep down that we can't connect to Dino Paradise," said Mack, turning to Lisa. Lisa shrugged as she used her Fossil Blaster, "Dino Armor, engage!"
As a pink aura surrounded her right arm, the Bastiodon Drill arrived. Mack shrugged as he covered Leona's head. Lisa turned around as the drill began to activate. A pink aura surrounded it as she went to break the slab. No debris was forming as she looked at it.
"Well this is going to be interesting…," said Lisa, turning to Leona, who looked half asleep. Lisa turned around as she looked at her helmet. She was analyzing what was going on, "Oh boy… there's only 20 percent of oxygen here and it's dwindling."
"What about us?" asked Mack, looking at Lisa.
"We are able to at least have another 10… but if we can't get Leona out in a few hours, she's dead," said Lisa.
Mack went to reach for his morpher, "Dino Paradise… Dino Paradise respond."
On the other end, all Mack could hear were static sounds coming from the other end. It was obvious that Magi Miner threw them down to the point of where they were separated from life itself and it was only a matter of time until they were lifeless.
Back at Dino Paradise…
Kyland grinned as he was scanning the new Fossil Chargers with Roark's scanner. Roark grinned as he was looking at the Relicanth hands that were shaped like claws. They were silver on the ends, but with Relicanth material. The aqua ranger turned around as he went into looking at the wonderful Fossil Charger. It was an orange charger with the number 12 on it. Turning to Roark, he went to do inventory.
"So Fossil Charger 11: Cyclizar, Fossil Charger 13: Dino Spiker, Fossil Charger 14: Attract, Fossil Charger: 15 Flamethrower, Fossil Charger 16: Hypnosis and Fossil Charger 17: Blizzard… Now, Fossil Charger 12: Relic Claws!"
"You forgot about the Poison Gas and Minimize chargers," said Roark, looking up to see flashes of three lights. Grayson, Atticus and Joe stopped by as they went to chat. Joe turned around as he looked at them, depressed, "So, what's the big surprise?"
"We found a way to break Magi Miner's slabs… and save the others," said Roark, turning to Kyland. Kyland nodded as he revealed the Relic Claws, "These guys…"
"What in the world is that?" asked Grayson.
"Relic Claws. When combined, you can create the ultimate Drill Run," said Kyland, "Charging enough energy, you will be able to break all barriers. Granted, we didn't do a test yet."
Roark turned around as he looked at Joe, grabbing the charger. He turned around as he looked at them, "I'll be more than ready to test it."
Drake, overhearing this, marched forward as he looked at all of them. He shook his head as he turned to them, "And we don't have time to test. Lisa, Leona and Mack are buried underground, and we need to save them and the trainers."
The rangers turned around as they were looking at the screen. The screen showed three humans who were underneath, trying to breathe. Zooming in, the rangers noticed Lisa and Mack, morphed underground. Leona was heavily breathing as she turned to look at the other rangers. Kyland turned around as he had his scanner with him, "Looking at the breathing rates, they are losing oxygen very slowly. Mack and Lisa are able to maintain it for a little longer. But, as for Leona, she will have three hours max."
"Why can't she morph?" asked Grayson, looking at Kyland. Kyland turned around as he showed the screen. Grayson groaned as he looked at the aqua ranger, "You mean to tell me because of the slab, it severed the connection between the morphers and Dino Paradise?"
"Yes," said Kyland, looking at Grayson, grabbing the charger, "But, we are going to test it first before we use it. We don't have that much time."
Joe nodded as he grabbed the charger, "And I plan on using it."
"Cool. Let's use the Oreburgh Gym," Roark said, "No gym battles are today, so I am sure my Graveler and Rampardos can help build those slabs."
"Great," said Kyland, picking up an amber scale with it. Joe turned around as he looked at it, "What is that?"
"Relicanth's ancient scale that I was able to derive the power from," said Kyland, turning to the team. As he picked up the item and weapon, the four rangers went toward the exit with Roark. As Roark and the others went to teleport, Drake turned around as he stretched his hand, freezing Joe.
"Joe, I need you. Everyone else, go," said Drake.
Following orders, flashes of blue, green, aqua and white energy surrounded them as they left. Joe turned around as Drake walked closer with his staff.
"Something is on your mind…," he said.
"Yeah," said Joe, sitting in the chair, "My brother was in that attack, and he caught me fighting Turnchou. He broke out of the spell through some explosive disturbance. He knows I am a ranger. What's worse is that Turnchou and the others were involved in that attack in the Hoenn Region. Drake, not also do I have to deal with this, but now that I know that Gircannon was behind this with Turnchou, I can't just sit here."
Drake sighed as he turned to the black ranger, "Well, you are now. I am not letting one who bonded with Armaldo fight just for personal vendettas. Or did you remember why you became a ranger in the first place?"
Joe stopped talking as Drake continued speaking, "Your brother will understand in due time. In terms of Turnchou, he will pay for his deeds. But, all of this for Gircannon?"
Joe took a deep breath as Drake continued, "Joseph, Gircannon would expect that from you. Ferro Fett would expect that from you."
"Expect what?" asked Joe.
"That you would go fight them single handedly. You don't know Gircannon and Ferro Fett as well as I do," he said, looking at the black ranger with intensity, "You only have a limited experience of what you saw, even when you were with the Hoenn Rangers."
Joe raised an eyebrow as he looked at Drake. Joe knew better than to fight and rebuttal. Drake turned around as he looked at the table, "Remember… Armaldo didn't choose you to fight for vengeance. You were chosen because you showed selfless bravery for saving Zander and Rachel, am I wrong?"
Joe looked up as he heard those two names, "How did you know?"
Drake raised his arms. A blue aura surrounded him as he looked at him, "Remember, I go through time and space as the protector of the crystals. I knew that each one of you would be chosen. And what you did that day, you saved them from being destroyed and without you, they wouldn't have had their Battleship."
"That is true, they did find the blueprints of an artifact," said Joe, looking up. He managed to get up as he looked at Drake, "Thanks, Drake. You really helped me understand why I am the way I am."
Drake grinned as he nodded slowly, "Now, don't forget that."
Joe nodded silently as he walked toward the exit. As he went to step on the platform, Joe's Dino Com started to ring, "Hey, Joe! It worked! We managed to get it to work. Now, let's get back to Iron Island."
"Good luck, Joe," said Drake.
"Thanks, Drake," said Joe, grabbing his Fossil Blaster. A black aura surrounded him as he teleported out.
Later that afternoon…
Joe, Grayson, Atticus and Kyland dashed over as they snuck behind a rock formation. They turned to see more people carrying wheelbarrows of fossils and items to Cremelia and Turnchou. Turnchou laughed as he was looking at the fossil collection. Atticus turned around as he looked at Joe, "Okay… so, what's the plan?"
"Simple… if an explosion was able to knock Byron and Adam out," said Joe, looking at the binoculars, "Then, those speakers that Cremelia has should cause an explosive disturbance."
"So, destroy them?" asked Kyland.
"Not necessarily…," said Joe, pointing to his Zebstrika. Zebstrika grinned as Joe was rubbing his forehead, "I am going to have my Zebstrika be able to short circuit the wiring, so it makes a shockwave. The shockwave will be able to knock the trainers out of the spell."
"And how are they are going to get off the island?" asked Grayson, looking at him.
Roark grinned as he snuck over, "Me."
"You?" asked Atticus, looking at Roark. Roark sighed as he crossed his arms, "Look, it's enough that my dad knows what's going on… thanks to your brother, Joe. But, I did ask dad to borrow the ship. It's on the south side of the island."
"Good… you take them to safety," said Joe, "Grayson and Atticus, you will create a distraction. I will take down the system."
"And what about Leona and the others?" asked Kyland.
"Once we get the island clear of civilians and Pokémon, we will then use that charger to rescue them," said Joe, turning to the others.
Grayson grinned as he rubbed his chin, looking at Joe, "Not bad, second-in command."
Joe grumbled as he looked at Grayson. Grayson chuckled as he turned to Atticus and Kyland. Kyland turned around as Joe went to speak, "Kyland, your job is to finish prepping the claws. Join me when I am done."
"Got it," said Kyland.
"Let's do it team!" Joe nodded.
"I think you are going to need a backup plan, Joseph!"
Joe turned around. Joe and the others stood in surprise as Turnchou, Maracturne and Magi Miner arrived with their weapons. Maracturne laughed as he looked at him, "Well, its nice to know that you have a plan."
"And its nice to know that you are the most annoying henchman I have ever met," Joe said.
Maracturne turned around as he released green beams. Joe, Grayson and Atticus took out their Fossil Chargers and Blasters. Quickly, placing them in the blaster, they spun the blasters.
"Unleash the Power!"
Green, black and blue auras surrounded them, just in time for the explosions to appear. Roark turned around as he looked up to see Magi Miner swing at attack. Roark performed a shoulder roll as he started dodging. Kyland grabbed the Relic Claws as he started dashing out of the way. Turning around, the Mooks arrived as he turned around to fight.
"Guess this will have to wait! Omastar Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the button, he pressed the Fossil Charger into the Fossil Blaster, "Unleash the Power!"
Releasing aqua energy, Kyland transformed into his ranger suit, ready to fight. Fighting the Mooks, he turned around as he released his Fossil Blaster, shooting them down. Light blue beams came across, striking the Mooks. The Mooks fell like dominoes, one falling after the other. He turned around as he shot another creature. He turned around as he swung a spinning hook kick at another Mook. Turning around, he grabbed a silver device as he placed it on the claws. Pressing the button, an orange glow surrounded it as it transformed back into the Fossil Charger. Grabbing it, he turned to Joe, "Joe, catch!"
Joe turned around as he grabbed the Fossil Charger. The black ranger was struck by Magi Miner as he landed, rock solid on the ground. Joe grumbled as he grabbed his Fossil Charger, "Let's try it! Relic Claws, energize!"
Pressing the button, an orange glow surrounded his hands as the Relic Claws arrived. He turned around as he went to strike Magi Miner, knocking the weapon down. Magi Miner laughed as he looked at him.
"You think you can stop me with your new weapon?" he asked.
"Yes…," said Joe. Placing his hands out, a red electrical surge surrounded his claws. Joe yelled as an explosion surrounded him. Magi Miner's face was gleaming with happiness as an explosion appeared in front of Joe. Joe yelled as a black aura of energy surrounded him, landing on the ground. Knocking his head on the ground, Magi Miner laughed heavily as he looked at him. Joe grumbled as he tried to get up.
"You think you can handle me?" he asked, kicking Joe in the stomach. Joe cringed as he landed on the rocky ground. He turned around as Zebstrika arrived, digging his feet.
"Oh, that must be your Pokémon…," he said, laughing.
"Zebstrika… get away," he shouted.
Zebstrika shook his head as his lightning bolt began to charge with electricity. White electricity surrounded it as he roared. Opening his mouth, a yellow shockwave appeared releasing thunder bolts. Turnchou and Maracturne turned around as they were somewhat shocked by the attack. Magi Miner blocked with his shovel. Joe's Zebstrika was using Discharge to stop them. Immediately, Magi Miner turned around as he grabbed his shovel, knocking Zebstrika to the ground. Zebstrika cried as he landed next to Joe. Joe looked up as he turned around, "Are you insane?"
Zebstrika shook his head as he turned around, seeing Turnchou. Turnchou looked up as he grabbed his magnet blaster, "Now, who am I going to kill… the horse or you?"
Suddenly, a shadow attack arrived in front of Turnchou. Turnchou leapt back as he noticed an Obstagoon grabbing Joe and Zebstrika. Instantly, a black shadow disappeared. Turning around, Kyland looked over.
"Where did he go?"
"Just when we were about to check on him," said Grayson, turning to the two of them. Magi Miner laughed as he looked at them, "Well, I don't know where they are… but it's time for you to finish it!"
Kyland turned around as he looked at Atticus and Grayson. Atticus turned around as he looked at Kyland. Roark was trying his best to fend the Mooks with Rampardos and Graveler. Kyland walked over as he turned to them, "I am going to help Roark and head back to fix. Can you handle?"
"Yeah…," said Atticus, groaning, "I can't believe that attack didn't work."
"We'll find Joe when we settle with this fiend," said Grayson, grabbing his Fossil Saber.
As Kyland went to go help Roark fight off the monsters, Turnchou and Maracturne charged through with their weapons. The rangers followed through with their battle, using their weapons to strike.
Meanwhile…
"Ugh…," Joe said, waking up.
He turned around to notice that he was looking at a cave. The cave had red and silver canisters as he looked up. He was in bandages as he turned around, noticing Zebstrika on the ground. Joe managed to get up, almost seeing an Obstagoon in front of him. Joe jumped up as he turned around, noticing his older brother, watching them.
"Easy, Joe," Adam said, looking at him.
"How did you know?" asked Joe.
"Byron told me that you would come back. So I waited," he said, "You have people to save right?"
Joe sighed as he looked at him. Remembering what Drake said, Joe turned around as he went to speak, "Yes, I do. Until Magi Miner decided to make it a free for all. That new attack didn't work either."
Adam looked up as Joe went to face the wall. He walked over as he placed his hand on his shoulder, "Little brother. I was wrong."
Joe's eyes looked up as he turned around. Adam looked at him as he turned to his younger brother, "I didn't realize that what you were doing was so important. I honestly thought you were playing around. But, seeing what you have been doing… it makes sense."
"Well…," said Joe, looking at his bandaged arm, "I guess I can accept your apology. But, this is a secret that Pa doesn't know. This includes Eric!"
"I am sure he will ask eventually," said Adam.
"Well, now is not the time," Joe continued on to say, looking at Zebstrika. Zebstrika winced in pain as Joe knelt down, petting it, "I am going to get you to a Pokémon Center as soon as I destroy that monster… and save the trainers."
He turned around as he looked at Adam. Adam turned around as he looked at the cavern. Adam looked up as he saw a crevice with light piercing through. As he opened his eyes, he turned to notice Grayson and Atticus fighting the creature. In the far right, there was a cave entrance with Cremelia and her megaphone.
"I think I have an idea," said Adam, looking at Joe.
"What idea?" asked Joe.
"How to save everybody…," Adam replied, "There is a cave tunnel entrance that leads to that upper level."
"Yeah… but Zebstrika is unable to discharge a shockwave through the speaker," said Joe, looking at Adam, then turning to Obstagoon, who had his arms crossed with a smile on his face, the tongue was sticking out, "Unless…"
"Obstagoon uses Lash Out… but not physically…," said Adam, petting Obstagoon. Joe laughed as he looked at him, "So basically, everybody's ears will go-."
"Precisely," said Adam, "Plus, that candy puff villain needs to stop singing that song. It's getting old…"
Joe reached for his Dino Com as he went to speak, "Kyland, did you make it to the gym?"
"No…," said Kyland over the intercom, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah… I am okay. Are the Relic Claws almost repaired?" asked Joe.
Kyland cleared his throat as he went to speak, "Roark and I are on the ship fixing them now. We may have missed something when we did the test, so I should have something very soon."
"How is Leona, Lisa and Mack's life signatures?" asked Joe, wondering how much time has passed as its desperation at its best.
"Not good…," said Kyland over the intercom, "We need to act fast. Where are you?"
"I'm inside the caverns of Iron Island. I've been rescued. We're heading up to the mountaintop to stop Cremelia's sound," said Joe.
"And how are you going to do it without Zebstrika?" asked Roark, overhearing the conversation. Joe grinned as he turned to Adam and then turned to his Dino Com, "Simple, my brother."
"Your brother?" asked Roark.
"I call it… The Cartwright Maneuver… when you mess with one, you mess with the fam… keep in touch. Hopefully, Grayson and Atticus can hold Maracturne and Turnchou down," said Joe, placing his Dino Com down. Joe walked over as he grabbed his Fossil Blaster that was on the ledge. Wrapping the belt around his waist with the Fossil Charger, he picked it up as he turned to Zebstrika. He grabbed his Poké Ball and aimed it. A red streak of light hit Zebstrika as Joe collected him, "Shall we, older brother?"
"Let's go little brother," Adam said, "Obstagoon!"
Obstagoon nodded as the three of them headed through the cave walls. As they were going through, Mooks were surrounding the area. Pulling the trigger, black beams were shot, piercing them as they scurried through. Flipping through, Joe turned around as he used more beams to strike them. Obstagoon slashed them down as they continued. Adam and the others went to the top of the mountain, where Cremelia stood there.
"How did you manage to get up here?" asked Cremelia.
Joe aimed his Fossil Blaster, "That's none of your concern, cake-puff."
Pulling the trigger, Cremelia screamed as she landed on the ground. Cremelia went to use her cake blaster, only for Obstagoon to jump up and grab it. Obstagoon bit into it, breaking and throwing it out.
"You little disgusting… racoon!" yelled Cremelia.
"It's Obstagoon to you…," said Adam, turning to his Pokémon, "Verbal Lash Out!"
Obstagoon grabbed the microphone took a breath and stretched his arms out. Screaming, purple soundwaves appeared as trainers and Pokémon were affected by a loud explosion and shockwave. Cremelia's speakers exploded as Adam turned around with Obstagoon. Cremelia looked at Obstagoon as she turned to him, "You ruined our plan again."
The trainers started running, fleeing toward the exit as Atticus and Grayson were being pummeled by the three creatures. Joe turned around as he grabbed his Fossil Charger, "Armaldo Charger, Energize!"
Pushing the charger down, a black energy formed from his crystal as it went into the morpher. Placing the charger in his blaster, he did his tiny dance and spun around, spinning the blaster, "Unleash the Power!"
A black aura surrounded him as he transformed into his suit.
"Armaldo! Dino Charge Black!"
He turned around as he looked over, seeing a few Mooks arriving over. Adam turned around as he looked at him, "What are you planning?"
"Return Obsatagoon," said Joe.
Gulping, Adam withdrew his Poké Ball, returning to Obstagoon. Immediately, Joe withdrew a yellow charger that had the number 11 on it, "Cyclizar, Energize!"
A Cyclizar emerged out as it landed on the ground. A black aura surrounded it as it transformed into a motorcycle with Cyclizar's head. It had Armaldo features around the sides and its face in front with silver claws and blasters. Getting on the motorcycle, Adam held on to him as Joe pushed through. Flying off the cliff, Joe turned around as he released a blast from his Fossil Blaster, aiming at one of the silver and red garbage cans. A chain of explosions appeared as the Mooks screamed. Turning around, he managed to land the bike as he turned to see Magi Miner ready to finish off Grayson and Atticus. Running Magi Miner over with his bike, Joe arrived as he turned to the others.
"Are you okay?" asked Joe.
"Where the -… oh, is that your brother?" asked Atticus.
Adam grinned as he punched Joe in the arm, still bruised, "I told you… Cartwright Maneuvers."
"JOE!"
The sound of Kyland's voice echoed as Kyland rushed over, morphed, turning to the other rangers, "I am an idiot… you're not going to believe what I learned."
"What?" asked Joe, "Quickly."
"You need the Dino Armor to maintain the power in the Relic Claws… I wish I saw it earlier," said Kyland, looking at the monster.
"You're not an idiot, Kyland. You just didn't see it… and that's okay," said Joe, looking at him, "That's what being a ranger is all about… growing and learning from each other."
"Shut up!"
The two rangers turned around as Magi Miner, Turnchou, Maracturne and an injured Cremelia arrived to fight, "Are we done with the kids lecture?"
"I'm not a kid…," said Joe, laughing, "Granted some of you do act like you are toddlers."
"EXCUSE ME!?" asked Maracturne and Cremelia.
Joe laughed as he activated his Fossil Blaster, rolling it down his arm, "Dino Armor, engage!"
Immediately, a silver streak of armor appeared around Joe. His Armaldo Blaster was placed on the ground as he revealed the orange Fossil Charger.
"Relic Claws, Energize!"
Pressing the button, an orange glow surrounded his hands as the Relic Claws arrived. The Relic Claws began to energize through Joe as a purple aura surrounded the energy field. He turned around as he saw the slab mound that was in the area. He jumped up as a purple aura surrounded him, swirling into a drill. Digging into the slab, he dug through pieces and debris as he opened a hole, releasing Lisa, Leona and Mack.
"Are you okay?" asked Joe.
"… You saved me," said Leona, looking at the claws, "What in the-?"
"Don't ask questions. We have a miner to destroy," said Joe.
Instantly, the rangers jumped up from the hole, landing on the ground. The villains screamed in awe as Leona arrived. Turnchou grumbled as Leona looked at him, "Trying to steal our Energy Crystals? Think again! Tyrantrum Charger, energize!"
Pressing the button, she placed the Tyrantrum Charger in her Fossil Blaster, spinning the blaster, "Unleash the Power!"
Transforming into her ranger suit, a red aura surrounded her as her suit appeared. The seven rangers stood together as they went to strike. Leona turned around as she took out her porcelain blue or light blue Fossil Charger, "Dino Spiker, Energize!"
As Leona pressed it, she threw the charger in the air. The weapons were thrown up in the air as well. The Tyrantrum Fang stood as the base. The Carracosta Shield was placed on top of the Tyrantrum Fang. The Armaldo Claw and Kabutos Slasher connected to either side of the blaster. The Basitodon Drill connected to the end. The Dino Spiker charger went inside the front of the blaster. A golden energy surge surrounded it as Leona grabbed it.
"Dino Spiker, Horn Drill!"
As the spiker was thrown, it turned into a horn as it started spinning. Tyrantrum, Armaldo, Carracosta, Kabutops and Bastiodon emerged as it was heading toward the monster. Magi Miner shoved his shovel into the ground as a slab appeared. The drill exploded as the rangers were sent flying. Joe turned around as he looked at the creature, "Well, let's try this on for size!"
Black aura surrounded his claws an Armaldo surrounded him. Stretching the Relic Claws, Joe jumped up as he began to spin. A purplish-blackish aura surrounded him as a spiral wave was forming.
"Crush Claw!"
Black and purple claws combined as he dug through, breaking through the slab, digging into Magi Miner. Magi Miner screamed as explosions occurred. Joe turned around as the creature exploded on site. The rangers turned around in surprise as the Relic Claws disappeared.
"That was an epic win!" shouted Atticus, "Great job!"
Kyland grinned as he turned to shake hands, "Great job, Joe!"
"Thank you, Kyland," said Joe, punching him in the arm. Looking over to see Adam, who was surprised, Joe rushed over as Adam went over to shake hands. Adam then changed his mind, hugging him, "I'm proud of you little brother."
"I am not done with you yet!"
The sound of Turnchou's voice was filled with anger as Joe turned around. Turnchou turned to Maracturne, "Do it!"
Maracturne took out his green smart watch, pressing a red app that had the letter M on it. Instantly, a green beam struck down as Magi Miner grew ten times bigger than normal. Joe turned to Adam as he saw a look of terror in his face.
"This is the part where you need to run," said Joe.
Adam nodded as he quickly dashed toward the edge. The rangers met up as Atticus, Lisa and Leona grabbed their chargers.
"I think it's time for some payback… shall we?"
"Tyrantrum…"
"Carracosta…"
"Bastiodon… I choose you!"
The three rangers threw their Fossil Chargers in the air, enlarging as three robotic Pokémon emerged. Tyrantrum, Carracosta and Bastiodon started charging toward the area.
"Tri-Fossil Fusion!"
Immediately, Tyrantrum opened its mouth. Blue and pink energy surrounded Bastiodon and Carracosta as Tyrantrum ingested the energy. A red aura surrounded the Tyrantrum as the legs began to rise higher, seeing robotic feet. The Tyrantrum Zord roared as the upper body rotated, leaving the tail to be the left side and the head of the zord on the right. The Carracosta and Bastiodon jumped up. Carracosta shrunk its head, arms, legs into the shell. The tail transformed into the right hand of the Megazord. The Bastiodon raised its tail as it connected to the left side with its legs and arms shrinking, forming the left hand and arm of the Megazord. A human head popped out of the body. It was a silver head with a red helmet that looked like a Tyrantrum helmet. Green eyes glowed as it started jumping.
"Dino Charge Megazord, Battle Ready!"
With the exception of Mack, the six rangers arrived and placed their Fossil Blasters in their holsters. Immediately, Magi Miner released tablets and threw them across. Purple auras surrounded them as they turned around, piercing the armor. The rangers held on as they were struck by the attack.
"Let's finish him," said Grayson, "Quickly."
"Exactly," said Joe, withdrawing his Fossil Saber. A black aura surrounded his saber as the others followed suit. As each ranger removed the saber, Leona's saber began to glow in a bright red aura as the saber began to glow in a greyish-gold saber with five energy crystals of their ranger color. With each crystal, there was an engravement of the Jaw, Claw, Cover, Dome and Armor Fossils.
A blue aura surrounded the Dino Charge Megazord as an exact replica of the sword materialized, but bigger.
"Dino Charge Saber, Fossil Strike!"
Raising the saber, a golden circle was formed as replicas of Tyrantrum, Armaldo, Carracosta, Kabutops and Bastiodon arrive. As the saber reached the top, a golden energy beam surrounded the whole blade as it went down on the slab. Upon contact, a black and violet aura was unleashed as explosions surrounded the Megazord. The slabs covered them in a mound.
"You're not going to win this time," Mack shouted, withdrawing his Fossil Charger, "Aerodactyl, I choose you!"
"Aerodynamic Change! Aero Amber Megazord!"
The Aerodactyl screamed as it swooped down. A golden aura surrounded the zord as it landed on the ground. The legs went from being bent to straight as the body was lifted. The wings folded into either side of its body as the body was now standing as a human body. The hands detached from the wings as golden arms grew out. The hands connected to the body as the head moved down to the chest. A human head appeared with a silver and black helmet that had an Amber Fossil on top. The head had green eyes.
"Aero Amber Megazord, Battle Ready!"
Using its wings, the Megazord flew across as it destroyed the mound. A golden edge cracked open the slab as the Dino Charge Megazord exploded out of it. Magi Miner went to stab a slab down to cover the Aero Amber Megazord, only to fly up. A Hyper Beam attack emerged as the monster was hit.
"Now!" Mack shouted, "Let's do it!"
"Right!" Leona responded, "Great Fossil Fusion!"
The Aero Amber Megazord began to glow in a golden aura, transforming back into Aerodactyl. Swooping around, the Aerodactyl attached to the back of the Megazord. The feet shrunk in as its whole body combined to the back of the Dino Charge Megazord. The Tyrantrum head was combined with an Aerodactyl head. Golden lightning bolts surrounded the Megazord. Mack landed in the cockpit with the others.
"Aero Charge Megazord, Battle Ready!"
As more slabs were being thrown, the Megazord flew across, shooting down each one. The starboard wing slashed into the monster. The Aero Charge Saber slashed the creature down, knocking it off balance. Each ranger in the cockpit withdrew their saber. The tail connected to the blade as a golden aura surrounded it. A golden aura surrounded it as seven Prehistoric Pokémon images were behind them.
"Aero Charge Saber! Stone Edge!"
The golden saber struck the dirt on the ground. Rocks turned into sharp stones as it combined into a cluster of stones, creating a saber. The saber of stones went through Magi Miner's body. Magi Miner fell to the ground, exploding into pieces. The Aero Charge Megazord landed on the ground, watching the flames burn. Down on the coastline, you could hear the sounds of trainers shouting in excitement as the Aero Charge Megazord landed on the ground. Adam looked up in response as he was looking at the Megazord.
"Way to go!" shouted Adam, turning to his Obstagoon, who was sitting there with his arms crossed and looking up in happiness.
"See? Your brother is pretty cool at what he does!"
Adam turned around, noticing Roark and Byron who were walking toward them. Byron turned around as he looked at the Megazord, "Wow!"
Roark went to pull him by the shirt, only for Byron to start running toward it, "This thing is SO cool. I wonder if it can dig for fossils or better yet, could be a great place for the Canalave Gym! I LOVE PREHISTORIC POKEMON!"
"… Here we go..," said Roark, sighing, looking at Adam. Adam chuckled as he turned to Roark, "Family is family…"
Roark nodded slowly, "You can say that again, bud."
Later that afternoon…
Joe was sitting down in his apartment, cleaning as he was watching his semi-injured Zebstrika, trying to make sure he didn't flinch or do anything life threatening. As he was about to watch a movie, he heard the door open. Opening the door, it was Adam, who was amazed at what he saw, "May I come in?"
"Yeah," said Joe, "I was about to go watch a movie. Heading back?"
"Yeah," Adam responded, "Pa asked when I was coming home. I told him I paid you a visit."
Joe raised an eyebrow. Adam grinned as he looked at him, "He doesn't know, but he did ask me when you were coming home to visit?"
Joe took a deep breath as he turned around. He shrugged as he looked at him, scratching his chin, "Maybe in a few weeks… that is if we don't have another attack."
Adam chuckled as he agreed with him. As he turned around to walk away, he looked over as he turned to him, "You did good out there. I'm proud of you. You… really grew."
Joe grinned as he nodded in response. Adam grinned as he raised his hand to say good-bye, only for Joe to hug him. After their embrace, Adam grinned as he closed the door to the apartment. Joe turned around as he went to sit down on the couch, ready to press a button… only for another knock.
"Adam… what's up?"
"It's not Adam, dude!"
Joe turned around as Kyland swung open the door. Joe turned around as Kyland marched in. Joe looked up, "Kyland, I'm trying to wind down."
"I know. I tried to call everybody," said Kyland, looking at him with anxiety. Joe looked up as he placed his hand on the couch. Kyland sat down as he went to speak, "Anyway, I was cleaning the Oreburgh Gym when I heard a beeping noise. It came from Lisa and Grayson's Fossil Chaser. I was able to pinpoint the fossil."
"The Skull Fossil we've been trying to find?" asked Joe.
"Yes!" said Kyland, "I think what happened to it… and we need to pay him a visit."
Joe looked at Kyland in response as he went to speak, "You mean…?"
Valor Lakefront…
Thomas was coming home from his meeting as he was walking through the mansion doors. As he went into the main hallway, he noticed a few robotic Lucarios giving him a schedule. Turning around, he walked up the stairs as he headed into his own master bedroom. Opening the door, it was a bright bedroom with a blue king size bed and golden poles. He also had a red desk with silver and black items. As he walked toward the desk, he sat down as he saw a grey aura coming out of it. Looking at it, he pulled the top drawer, seeing the Skull Fossil. As Thomas touched it, a grey aura surrounded it as he looked over, feeling a blue hush of wind. Thomas turned around, seeing Drake.
"Who are you?" asked Thomas.
"Prince Thomas IV of the Lucario Kingdom," said Drake, "I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. My name is Drake, Keeper of the Crystals."
"Cool. So, that means I'm on the team?" asked Thomas, excitedly.
"Well, yes… but I don't Rampardos chose you. You are a little… shallow. But, I guess with how things ended up in the Oreburgh Museum, it seems you have a lot to learn and seeing that you are part of the Lucario Kingdom, a kingdom devoted to using aura power. I figured choosing you would be wise to help the rangers out."
"What do you mean help them out, they are experienced…," said Thomas.
"In weapons… yes… but, with Ferro Fett getting stronger… and almost losing three rangers today. I need your help now more than ever to train them," Drake said.
Thomas turned around as he looked at Drake, "Drake, the Lucario Power is not used like that."
"I know. But, you can test them…," said Drake, looking at Thomas. Thomas turned around as he looked at him. Thomas nodded slowly as he walked forward, "Alright… so, what do you want me to do?"

Kyland runs into a new ranger, who we know as Thomas! Learning that the rangers are willing to work with the ranger, Thomas puts the seven rangers to a test. Can the rangers take on the test and pass?
Poké Rangers Dino Charge Chapter 18: Rise of a New Ranger
A/N: What a phenomenal chapter in my opinion! Joe gets his brother back, they use a new weapon. Byron is also saved… and I apologize if he was OOC… I haven't really kept up with the anime or games, so I only used a 30 second blurb on YouTube to figure it out. As you guessed it, Thomas will be the grey ranger. However, Drake is going to put them on a little test to see if Rampardos can work with them. We went to a new area of Sinnoh… so its pretty awesome. Alright, let's see who unlocks the power of Rampardos!
I also wanted to make sure you guys got a weekly update. This past week has been super, super busy. I do have some breathing room coming soon... but as of right now, I've been running on fumes since Labor Day. It will all ease in soon where I can get into a routine and actually get writing, but the past two weeks it has been rough. I do have chapters written up until the week of Thanksgiving, but I need to work on the December/January chapters. I hope to meet my season finale deadline.
Also, around early November, I will be announcing Season 2 of the Sinnoh Saga. If you are a member of the discord, it will be announced sometime in early October.
