Stimulating Anne Part 1
Charlie, the rest of his children, and Chu Chu went into Anne's room in the recovery ward to find Anne lying in a hospital bed still in her comatose state.
"Please, Anne," Nancy said. "you've got to come back to us, don't give up!"
There were murmurs of agreement from the others.
Then, Henry stepped up to the bed.
"Come on, Sis," Henry said. "I know you're in there, the clan just wouldn't be the same without you."
Mimi came up next it looked like she had been crying.
"Please wake up, Anne," Mimi said. "I want us to play again."
Tom stepped up.
"Anne," Tom said. "it would make me grieve most deeply, to be deprived of the continuation of your actuality."
Henry rolled his eyes.
"What Tom is trying to say is, he'd miss you too, so keep fighting and come back to us," he said squeezing his sister's hand. "we've got a lot more cases to solve and memories to make and we want to make them with you, our water-balloon fights in summer and snowball wars in winter just wouldn't be the same without you."
Stanley stepped up.
"Hey, Sis," Stanley said. "remember that disguise of mine where I wore an eyepatch and a feather cape? You laughed and said I looked like a cross between a pirate and a peacock!"
"Goofball older brothers." Alan sighed.
Stanley chuckled a little half hoping his sister would wake up and laugh with him, then he took a breath and continued.
"You were right," Stanley said. "that wasn't one of my better disguise ideas, but that's why you've got to beat this, Sis, without you, who's going to save me from my own crazy ideas?"
Scooter stepped up, he looked up nervously, like he didn't know what to say, finally, he patted his sister's hand.
"Get better, Anne." Scooter said sincerely.
Flip walked up and squeezed his sister's hand and smiled weakly, "You've gotta get better, Sis, I kinda miss having you try to boss me around." he said.
Charlie drew a ragged breath as his kids filed out of the room and headed back to the waiting area, he sat down on the edge of the bed and just held his daughter's hand for a long moment.
When the doctor came in, "Visiting hours will be over shortly." he said.
Alan turned to face the doctor, "Could you please let my father have his moment with my sister?" he asked.
"Be quick, Mister Chan." the doctor said.
"Anne... I'm sorry I let your brothers do more than you... I should not let your brothers have all the fun," Charlie said. "I now know that women and girls can do anything men and boys can, I won't deprive you of your joys in life any longer."
Charlie kissed Anne gently on the forehead before he quietly left.
