Chapter 23: Painful Reunion
2 months later….
Sam and his group were heading towards a planet for a mission.
There was Imperial activity in the area.
Eda and Padme were a bit nervous, this was their first official mission.
Padme almost felt like a Separatist, minus the corrupted assholes.
"There's nothing to worry about Mom, I'm sure you and Eda will do great", Sam said.
Eda said, "let's hope so."
"We're about land", One-One said.
Sam said, "thanks buddy."
The ship then landed on the planet.
Everyone grabbed their weapons.
Sam had his sabers at the ready.
Sam asked "One-One, you know the backup plan?"
"Sure do master Sam, if anything were to go wrong, Alastor, Lucifer and Hordak will come to the rescue", One-One said.
"Yep, since they are slime aliens, they are masters of disguise", Sam said.
Ahsoka said, "good. At least we have a plan for if things go south."
"Okay everyone, let's head out", Eda said.
The group consisting of Sam, Eda, Padme, Ahsoka, HK-47, Bendy and Verosika set out.
Sam and Ahsoka led the group.
Sam kept his eyes and ears open for a specific person….
"Man, if I see a single stormtrooper, I'm going to turn them into stone", Eda said.
Verosika asked, "can you even do that?"
"Yeah I can", Eda said.
Eda pointed at a nearby tree. She fired a spell from her hand and it hit the tree. It turned to stone in seconds!
The others went wide eyed.
Eda said, "told ya."
"Now that is cool", Bendy said.
Eda chuckled.
"Statement: I agree with Bendy", HK-47 said.
Eda smirked pridefully.
The group kept walking.
Bendy asked, "so what's the mission again?"
"There are rumors that there is an Imperial base with equipment that can be helpful to the rebels", Sam said.
Ahsoka said, "so we gotta get our hands on all of it."
"Right", Bendy said.
Sam said, "let's hurry then."
The group then made it to the base.
"I don't see any stormtroopers", Ahsoka said
Sam said, "be cautious. They might be hiding."
Sam and Ahsoka held their lightsabers steady.
They glanced around at everything.
"I don't like this", Bendy said.
The others nodded in agreement.
Eda stayed close to her wife.
HK-47 watched their backs.
Verosika held her blaster close.
The group carefully entered the base.
Sam and Ahsoka checked the surroundings. They didn't spot anything yet.
"Follow us", Sam said.
The others nodded.
"I tell ya something ain't right…. It feels like….", Eda said.
"FREEZE!"
Everyone froze in shock.
Stormtroopers appeared and surrounded them.
Bendy groaned, "oh no…."
"We fell into a trap", Verosika groaned.
HK-47 said, "query: shall I start shooting these meatbags, master?"
"That would be a big mistake to make."
Everyone froze in utter fear.
Sam felt himself shaking as he heard that voice.
Vader's voice….
Ahsoka quickly stepped in front of Sam.
She would protect him at all costs.
The group then saw Vader. He stood among his troops.
"Vader", Ahsoka said in anger.
Vader said, "Tano…."
Sam shaked in fear at hearing Vader's voice.
He was petrified.
Vader got closer to the group.
Ahsoka, Eda and Padme growled.
Padme got in front of Sam.
She growled, "you…."
Vader froze as he heard Padme's voice.
It really was her!
"Do not come near…. My son", Padme growled
Vader whispered, "it really is you…. Padme."
Padme kept glaring at Vader.
She didn't move an inch away from her son.
She swore she wouldn't let Vader harm Sam again. That was a promise she more than intended to keep.
Ahsoka and Eda stood close to the two as they swore to protect them and the group.
They had no idea how Vader was gonna react.
"Do not come closer, you monster", Padme growled.
Vader didn't move an inch.
"Take them to their cells", Vader said.
The troopers moved forward, but stopped as Eda yelled, "how did my wife ever love a guy like you?"
Vader froze.
The stormtroopers gulped in fear.
They knew shit was about to hit the fan.
Sam stood in front of Eda to protect her.
As did Padme.
Padme growled, "don't you dare touch her, you bastard."
Vader felt jealous.
Extremely jealous.
"I'm sorry", Vader whispered.
Everyone, even Sam and Padme, were shocked to hear Vader…. Apologizing….
Padme asked, "what?"
Vader whispered, "I'm…. Sorry…."
Ahsoka said, "sorry for what?"
Vader's body language made it clear what he meant.
Padme stepped towards Vader.
"Mom, no", Sam said.
Padme whispered, "it's okay, Sam."
Padme gave her youngest son a hug.
Sam didn't wanna let go.
But he had to….
After breaking the hug with Padme, Sam hugged Ahsoka.
Ahsoka held him close.
Padme walked towards Vader.
The troopers kept their blasters at the ready.
"Padme", Vader said softly.
Padme held her hand up.
Vader looked confused, until Padme threw her fist towards Vader's face.
It crashed against his mask and sent him flying to the ground.
Everyone gasped!
Especially the troopers.
Vader then sat up and saw Padme's angry look on her face.
She looked positively pissed.
"You deserved that", Padme growled.
Everyone in Sam's group nodded.
Vader then began to slowly stand up.
Padme shook her hand lightly.
"Padme….", Vader tried to say, but Padme cut him off.
"Save it, Vader", she growled.
"Angel…. Please…. Just-", Vader said.
Padme growled, "listen about what? About all the horrible things you have done? All the innocent people you have killed? Enslaved? And that you killed Obi Wan?"
Everyone glanced back and forth between the two.
"You have gone too far Vader…. You went too far when you hurt Sam…. He told me about how you killed Obi Wan right in front of him", Padme growled.
Sam looked down in sorrow.
Padme yelled, "how could you do that to Sam? Your own son!?"
Vader suddenly yelled, "you think I don't regret it?!"
The others froze at Vader's yelling.
Sam was in shock at what he heard.
Vader…. Regretted killing Obi Wan?
Sam didn't know what to think or say.
Neither did anyone else.
Vader then glanced towards Sam.
Sam hugged Ahsoka as he looked away from Vader.
Vader felt pure shame.
"Sam…. Please…. I just….", Vader said.
"Don't come close to my son Vader…. Even if it is true you feel regret for what you did…. You broke Sam's heart. And I will never forgive you for doing that to our child", Padme growled.
Everyone once again eyes Vader.
Ahsoka could feel Vader's sadness.
He was telling the truth for once.
Padme turned to walk back to the others when Vader grabbed her hand.
She hissed, "let me go!"
"Padme, please don't leave me", Vader pleaded.
Padme growled, "if there's even an ounce of love left in you…. You'll let me go."
Vader shook his head as he refused to let Padme go.
Padme kept trying to pull her hand away.
"Get your hands off my wife", Eda shouted.
Eda quickly pointed at Vader, but her shot missed him and turned a trooper into stone!
The other troopers looked in fear at what they saw.
"LET MOM GO", Sam shouted as he ran towards Vader.
Sam had his sabers activated in a second.
Vader used the force to freeze Sam in place.
Ahsoka yelled, "Sam!"
"Let him go", Padme shouted.
Padme sent a kick into Vader's chest.
This caused Vader to lose his grip on Padme and Sam.
Sam then quickly turned into his deer beast form.
He roared and ran at the troopers.
The troopers tried to fire at Sam, but they were quickly knocked off to the side.
HK-47 and Verosika started firing off shots as Bendy turned into his larger form.
He helped Sam fight off the stormtroopers.
Eda and Ahsoka ran over to Padme.
Eda asked, "you okay, baby?"
"I'm okay, honey", Padme said.
Ahsoka said, "we gotta get out of here."
"NO! I WON'T LET YOU LEAVE ME AGAIN!"
Vader started running towards them.
Padme quickly slammed her hand down to the ground, forming a giant rock in front of Vader's path.
Vader ran right into it!
The three women winced.
"Ooh! That's gotta hurt", Eda said.
Padme said, "we better start running."
The three women began to run.
Verosika and HK-47 got onto Sam's back as he and Bendy followed the others.
Sam yelled, "back to the ship!"
Vader shouted, "AFTER THEM!"
The tropers began chasing after the heroes.
"I knew your ex was crazy! But woo! He's even crazier than I thought", Eda shouted
Padme yelled, "just keep running, sweety!"
The Ebon Hawk was then seen in the sky flying towards the group.
"Everyone get on my back", Sam shouted.
Everyone jumped onto Sam's back.
"Hold on tight", Sam shouted as he jumped towards the Ebon Hawk's ramp.
He managed to stick the landing.
Sam and the others went inside the ship quickly.
Sam yelled, "One-One! TeeThree! Get us outta here!"
"Roger", One-One said.
The Ebon Hawk flew as fast as it could.
Sam turned back to normal and he quickly hugged Padme.
Padme hugged her son close.
Sam asked, "Mom, are you okay?"
Padme said, "I've been better…."
Sam hugged his mother even more.
She enjoyed the hug.
"I didn't think he would react like this…. Now we know for sure Vader will be determined to capture you, Padme", Ahsoka said.
Padme growled, "I'd like to see him try."
"I'll be there to protect you honey", Eda said.
Padme smiled at her wife.
Bendy asked, "could Vader have meant that he truly regretted…. Killing Obi Wan?"
Verosika said, "it's too early to determine."
"Well we just need to be more careful from now on…. Vader will probably keep setting traps like this", Sam said.
The others nodded.
The Ebon Hawk then entered Hyperspace as it flew back to the Rebel Base….
….
Later, on Hoth….
This was after making the report that the mission was a trap set by Vader.
Sam and his lovers head to their room.
They were starting to make plans for their wedding.
They hoped to have it very soon.
And they wanted to have their wedding on Naboo.
It was the perfect place to have it.
Padme offered to create Verosika's wedding dress and the men's tuxedos.
They happily accepted the offer.
Right now the lovers were in their room planning on what else they wanted to include in the wedding.
They wanted Bendy to be the ring bearer.
Satine and Steela would be the flower girls.
Luke would be the best man.
Eda and Lilith would be in charge of making the food.
Mon Mothma would officiate.
Ahsoka, Leia and Luz would be the bridesmaids.
Han, Chewie and Hunter would be the groomsman.
Padme would be the one to walk Sam down the hall.
Sam was thankful for that.
"I can't wait for our wedding", Sam said.
His beloved's all nodded in agreement.
"We can't wait to see you with that wedding dress on", Hordak said.
Sam smiled with a blush.
"You are going to look so hot in it", Alastor said.
Sam gave a small giggle.
Adam and Prime kissed Sam's cheeks.
Sam smiled from ear to ear.
"We're Still getting used to your new features", Adam said as he points to Sam's antlers.
Sam said, "I plan on filing them down."
Verosika asked, "won't that hurt you?"
Sam said, "not really. The antlers are more akin to horns, with no feeling in them except at the very base near my forehead."
"Okay", Verosika said.
Sam smiled at her concern.
The lovers continued to make plans for their wedding. Well into the night….
….
We then see Padme in her room.
She was holding a certain momento.
The Jappor necklace.
She had had it for a very long time.
Everytime she held it or looked at it, it made her think of the person her ex husband used to be.
The good man he once was.
Padme held the Jappor necklace close.
She closed her eyes.
Now she didn't know if there was any good left in Vader.
He had caused so much pain….
Especially to his own son, Sam.
Padme teared up slightly.
She still kept asking to herself how Vader could have hurt their son so much.
And the words he said to her that day….
"I'm sorry."
Tears fell down Padme's cheeks.
That's when Eda knocked at the door.
"Come in", Padme said.
Eda entered the room.
Eda saw her wife's teary face.
She quickly went to comfort her.
Padme laid her head on Eda's shoulder.
Eda patted her head.
"There, there", Eda said softly.
Padme smiled at her wife.
"Can't believe your ex was so crazy and willing to do this", Eda said.
Padme said, "neither can I."
"But no matter what happens honey, I'll always protect you and our family", Eda said.
Padme smiled at her wife lovingly.
"I love you Eda", Padme said
Eda said, "I love you too, Padme."
The two shared a kiss.
They held one another lovingly.
After breaking the kiss, the two sat down on their bed.
They kept smiling at one another.
Padme now had her head on Eda's chest.
She listened to her heartbeat.
Eda smiled and held her wife closer.
Padme giggled lightly.
Eda smiled.
….
Meanwhile….
We see Darth Vader.
He sat alone in his room.
He couldn't stop thinking about what had happened a few hours ago.
He could still see the disdain in Padme's eyes.
And he could still feel her anger and sadness.
It haunted him.
He could still see Sam turning away and refusing to look at him.
It was now that Vader realized something….
He was promised that the dark side would help him save the people he loved…. But all it caused him…. Was misery….
And his family wanted nothing to do with him.
Vader had…. Nothing.
Tears fell down Vader's face.
He wished he could make things right.
How he wished he could alter the past.
How he wished…. Kenobi had killed him instead.
Tears kept falling down Vader's face.
He held so much regret.
Now all he hoped was that he could find a way to fix all this.
Little did he know…. He'd get his chance.
….
Sometime later….
Padme was showing off to Sam's lovers the designs for their wedding outfits.
"I just need your opinion on which one you like best for each of you", Padme said.
Sam's lovers all nodded.
Padme then showed Verosika the designs for her wedding dress.
Verosika loved the designs.
She then chose the black and white wedding dress.
Padme smiled and then she showed the men their tuxedos.
Alastor's was deep red.
Hordak's was dark blue.
Prime's was white.
Lucifer's was light red.
And Adam's was purple.
"Okay, now I know which suits and dress to make", Padme said as she closed her sketchbook.
"Thank you so much Padme", Verosika said.
Padme said, "it's no problem. We are gonna be family, afterall."
Sam's lovers smiled.
"And you are all going to be left awestruck once you see your outfits in person", Padme said.
On that, they could all agree.
….
"We have to make sure by the time the wedding comes there is enough security and that the Empire…. Ahem…. Vader, doesn't find out about it", Leia said to Luke and Sam.
Luke and Sam nodded in agreement.
"I agree with you Leia, I do not want that monster to ruin my little brother's big day", Luke said.
Sam was grateful for how protective Luke was.
Luke really looked out for him.
Sam hugged his big brother.
Luke smiled as he hugged back.
"I love you Luke", Sam said.
Luke said, "I love you too, bro."
Sam giggled as Luke ruffled his hair.
Leia smiled at all this.
Luke and Sam's bond was strong.
Stronger than ever.
Sam's bow fell to the ground.
"Don't worry, I'll put it back on your head on Sam", Leia said.
Sam said, "thanks Leia."
Leia smiled as she placed the bow back on Sam's head.
Sam smiled at his sister.
How he wished he could tell her the truth about them being related.
But he sensed that it still wasn't the time to reveal that.
He hoped the time would be soon.
The three siblings kept talking about plans on how to make sure the wedding day would be perfect and safe for everyone…. It was gonna take a lot of work.
But it would all pay off in the end….
