Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been on this website and my friend, Autobot0001, has been talking about a different take on the famous "Swan Princess" movie. I loved it so much that I agreed to write it! There will be some changes to the original story but others will remain the same.

Enjoy!

Swan Princess does NOT belong to me, and the idea for this story is from Autobot0001!

Once upon a time, there was a king named William...who ruled a large and mighty kingdom...and yet, he was sad...for he was growing old and had no child to inherit the throne. Then, happily, a daughter was born...a princess...and she was given the name Odette. Kings and queens came from all around to offer the gifts to the child. Among them was the widow Uberta and her young son Prince Derek.

The four year old boy looked at the baby princess in curiosity, than smiled as he held the swan locket above her, a gift he and his mother prepared for her. The baby princess looked on with glee as she reached for it, and Derek dropped it into her tiny hands.

Their parents watched on at the scene. It was then that William and Uberta happened upon the same idea. Derek and Odette will be brought together each summer in hopes that they will fall in love... and join their kingdoms forever.

But unknown to all was another plan... that of the evil enchanter Rothbart. Odette's birth was of little concern to him... for he was preparing to take William's kingdom, by means of the forbidden arts. On the eve of his assault, William attacked... and Rothbart's powers were plunged into darkness.

Despite calls for his death... the enchanter was only banished. As the soldiers were unchaining him, he violently pushed them away and glared up at William.

"I'm not finished with you yet, William," He hissed, "Someday, I'll get my power back. And when I do, everything you own... everything you love, will be mine."

William angrily pointed at Rothbart to leave, and with that the evil enchanter left. Many feared King William too kind for what he did, but the King wanted to be a good example for his people, especially his daughter the princess for when she becomes queen and wanted her to learn to be a just and fair ruler when she grows up.

As Rothbart walked, the bushes shook and out came an old woman, his apprentice Bridget, the hag. Both had a sinister grin on their faces, and Rothbart gave her a nod of approval. Little did William know, that his mercy on Rothbart was about to have dire consequences that will haunt him forever.

As nightfall fell upon William's kingdom, and everyone had turn in for the night. Except the guards as they walked through the halls, not knowing a small cloaked figure was sneaking behind, trying not to make a sound as it was heading towards an important room. The figure found the door and looked around to see if anyone was coming, thankfully no one was in sight. The figure gently opened the door, inside was a room full of toys, stuffed animals and a sleeping wet nurse who was beside a crib.

The figure went over and saw the sleeping baby princess Odette, and the figure removed their hood, revealing to be Bridget.

She grinned as she gently took the baby into her arms, not knowing the wet nurse was waking up. She quickly became wide awake as her eyes widened in alarm and horror.

"Hey! How did you get in here?! What are you doing with the princess?!" She yelled out.

Only for Bridget to push her out of the way and headed towards the halls, with Odette now awake and crying alarming the guards.

"What was that?!" one guard asked.

They were interuppted as the wet nurse ran towards them, and what she told them made their blood run cold.

"Sound the alarm! The princess is being kidnapped!"

The palace was in full chaos now as the guards and servants frantically ran to find the princess. William was awakened by the frantic guards, and when they told him what had happened, he immediately barked orders to find the his beloved daughter and the kidnapper.

Meanwhile, Bridget ran through the streets as the villagers were awakened by the bell. As the guards rushed through the village to question the people, Odette was crying and Bridget tried to quiet her down.

"No no! Shhhh!" she ordered the infant.

Soon a villager spotted her, "Hey! There they are!"

Bridget's eyes widened and Odette wailed louder, she began to run as the guards began to chase after her. Than more guards arrived, this time on horses, with a very irate William leading the cavalry, desperately trying to get to his child, meanwhile Bridget was trying to get across the drawbridge.

The guards working there saw the scene and were informed of what was happening. They knew what they had to do.

One of them leaned down and roared, "CLOSE THE BRIDE! DON'T LET HER ESCAPE WITH THE PRINCESS!"

The soldiers began to turn the wheel, bringing the bridge up. Bridget started to panic, what if she can't get over it on time? Than the whole plan will fail, and judging by William's anger she might not be spared like Rothbart.

Just as Bridget thought her fate was sealed and William was about to get close, a horrendous roar thundered in the air. The guards on top of the drawbridge looked on in horror as a giant terryfying creature was flying towards them and used it's bottom talons to stop the bridge from closing.

The soldiers at the bottom were halted by the sudden pull, they looked up.

"What's happening?! Why won't the drawbridge close?!"

"KEEP GOING! DON'T STOP!"

They did as they were told, and William and his men were fast approaching. William looked at Bridget in pure rage, he knew who she was and who she worked for, and it didn't take him long to find out who was behind all of this.

"GIVE ME BACK MY DAUGHTER, WITCH!"

Odette's wailing continued as Bridget looked around. Suddenly, the drawbridge broke open and the guards at the top fell over. William and the guards stopped as they looked on in shock and terror, before them was a bat like creature larger than any animal.

It let out another roar, causing everyone to scream and William gasped in disbelief. His fear was interuppted when he saw the creature grab Bridget and flew into the air.

With Odette still in her arms crying.

Pure horror filled William and yelled out as his horse went after the creature. Suddenly, the creature turned its head, a wicked grin spread on its face and flew down, causing the wind to slice through the trees and they began to collapse, causing the old king to nearly fall off his horse. He looked up to see Bridget blowing raspberry at him, and his daughter's cries getting fainter and fainter, with his heart breaking louder and louder, tears began to stream down his face.

His daughter was gone.

The whole kingdom went into lockdown the next morning, guards were questioning every villager as to who took the princess and if there was any other suspects involved. Unfortunately, no one had any answers, and it wasn't long until the large and mighty kingdom fell into a deep depression, the happiness in the land was gone.

Word spread to other kingdoms, and all of the kings and queens were shocked and sad for William, including Uberta as not only did her dear friend endured every parents worst nightmare, their hopes to have Odette and Derek meet in hopes of having them fall in love and marry to unite their kingdoms have ended.

King William went into mourning. His grief was far greater than what he felt when his wife, queen Aubri, passed away soon after childbirth, and now Odette, his precious child who he wanted for so long, the beloved princess who the kingdom had been waiting for and the future of their kingdom, is gone.

Soon his sorrow turned into anger, at Rothbart for being the culprit behind his daughter's kidnapping and causing his kingdon chaos and his people great suffering, and at himself for showing him mercy when he knew what Rothbart was planning to do and take his kingdom, starting this horrible moment in his kingdoms history and failing to protect his only daughter and heir.

On that day, he vowed to keep looking for his daughter, and vowed to get revenge on Rothbart for what he had done. No matter what it took or how long it'll be, William swore that if he ever finds Rothbart, the penalty will be death.

Or worse if Odette was not alive.
