Three years after the adventures of the digidestined. Most of the kids moved on to do their own things and others stayed friends. but in the digital world the digimon were being taken over by a person that calls himself the digimon kaiser.
Meanwhile in the real world, Tk is leaving for school and On his way he meets a girl named yolei and a kid named Cody. They all decide to go to school together.
During class tk is introduced by his teacher to his class and sits down next to kari who he was friends with when they were kids so they started talking and joking about their teacher looking like an ogermon.a kid who was friends with kari named davis was getting a bit upset because he thought that tk liked her so davis was upset at tk.
Meanwhile in the digital world tai is in the digital world looking for agumon and when he finds agumon. He is told that the digimon can not digivolve and realising this he emails his sister to try and help him. which is found by yolei who is using the school computer and she recognizes tai's last name to be the same as kari's. She quickly finds Kari and tells her about the message.
In the digital world the digimon leads Tai into a cave where he finds a weird stone with the crest of courage marked into it and when he tries to touch it three lights come out and fly away from the cave.
Back in the real world yolei is telling kari about what her brother sent in the text and yolei askes" oh and by the way what is the digital world is it some kind of game" kari who was trying to come up with a lie says "a its a game but it really hard to get so not a lot of people know about it" and yolei replies " oh that explains it" and after yolei leaders kari and tk to the computer room she leaves and starts talking to cody. while kari and tk where about to enter the digital world davis barged in saying "what are you to doing in here and what's a digital world and if our going I'm coming to" tk replies "we are hanging out and the digital world is a place not just anybody can entre you need a digivice" showing davice his digivice and as he does that three lights come out of one of the computers and one of the lights goes to davis the other two we see go to yolei and cody. Davis looks at his hands and in them is a device and he looks a tk and show the device asking" like this one" and both tk and kari are speechless and kari then says "well looks like he is coming to" while snickering as tk is dumbfounded then they enter the digital world
In the digital world davis is in aw then he sees gatomon and patamon yelling hi to kari and tk and the kari and tk explain that these are digimon and they live in the digital world and these two are the partners and then davis gets excited to meet his partner if he gets one they then go to where tai was and tk and tai say hi to each other because they haven't seen each other in while and tai then notice davis is there and tai proclaims "wait how are you here" while pointing at davis. Davis pulls out his digivice and says "apparently digidestined like you" tai the replies "well damn didn't think there were anymore" then kari says" of sins we got the greetings out of the way how about you tell us why you wanted us to be here" tai then gestures for them to follow as they go in the cave they all see the egg and tai says" i already tried to pick it up but all that happened was that some lights came out so i wanted to see if one of you could lift it" then kari and tk both try to no results then tai says" well looks like there is one last person left to try" as they all look at davis he then approaches the egg and picks it up and says "i don't understand why you guys had trouble it pretty light" as he said that a light flashes and a blue creature come out from where the egg once stood the creature then hopes around and says "hi a davis I'm veemon your digimon partner i have been so excited to meet you for all this time" davis changes from scared in a second as he says" wait you my digimon part" davis is cut of by a loud crash out side of the cave so they all run out and see a monochromon.
tk try's to make padamon digivolve and it did not work they found out the hard way that they can not digivolve and as they are try to dodge the attacks vee mon tell davis "davis hold out the digiegg and say digiarmor enegise" and davis dose as told holding out his are and saying" digiarmor enegise" as he dose that veemon starts digivolving into flamedramon and proceeds to start fighting monochromon and destroying the dark ring that was taking control of the digimon letting it go and returning to the real world and they then notice that patomon, gatomon, and veemon returned but veemon dedigivolved into demiveemon as they all head home going to sleep and getting ready for the next day
