The memories trickled back slowly and then all at once. Like the pitter patter of rain that transforms into an onslaught of deadly showers. It swept over him like a tornado descending upon the earth, whipping him into the atmosphere away from all that made him human.
He didn't try to fight against them. Try as he might, the memories struck him one after another like the lightning that his Father wielded.
Remember son of Iovis.
Remember who you are.
Iason.
The Healer.
Borne to Beryl and Iuppiter to heal her fragile psyche.
Gifted to Iuno by Iuppiter to heal their marriage.
And now to utilized by Iuno to heal the rift between the Greeks and the Romans.
Their Saving Grace.
He was the sky. He was born from tempered winds of a storm. Mortal as he may be; to push him well beyond his limits was to ask for the rage of nature. He was what he ate; born from the same celestial dust of the creatures within his father's kingdom. He was his Father's son and bit by bit he took hold of the fragile pieces of his psyche and pulled them together.
And oh, that was right.
He remembered being suckled by Lupa until he was able to hunt on his own. He remembered the soothing hands of Iuno, and she ran her fingers through his hair.
"My little champion," she used to say with a bright smile.
She trained with him. Swords to daggers to staffs to scepters. She taught him them all. She stood with Lupa watching as he trained with the pack, quickening his reflexes.
"My little feral boy," she would laugh at the small growls he gave.
He had told Piper that his memories were not good for any of them. He had not even realized that they would not be good for them either.
And as he lied, in a pool of his own blood, as his half-brother gaze over him, he knew it to be true. Just as he knew that his brother recognized exactly what was happening to him.
Because he wasn't dying.
The moment Caligula stabbed him he felt it instantly.
The divine half of his soul pushing out his mortality through the point of his shoulders. He could feel the way the wind circling around him like the leaves dancing through the sky. Above him, he could see her... his Mother... his real Mother... Iuno awaiting him with open arms. He was her son even if he had not behaved like one.
"You cannot control your parents," Notus had told him. "But you can choose your legacy."
"Cover..." Jason murmured. His friends leaned closer to hear his voice. "Cover... eyes."
His brother cursed before repeating his word.
And it was so similar to that quest so long ago, when he went to free her... free his Mother. It stole the air from his lungs and blinded him quickly like looking at the true form of Iuno.
"Jason," his brother called after a moment, cradling his face in his hands. "Follow your own advice. Remember what it is like to be human."
But he wasn't human anymore, was he?
Divinity rippled out of him so similar to when he lost Ivlivs.
Ivlivs, he had the sword for years.
And... and... he could hear it calling for him. It had been destroyed, didn't it? Like a clap of thunder, it exploded so long ago. Like thunder. His Father's power. His power. He could see Ivlivs flipping within the air, and each turn a clap of thunder and a strike of lightning followed. He reached for it.
"Iason, son of Iovis, champion of Iuno," his Brother demanded his attention. Jason looked to him and their eyes met. He could see lifetimes of knowledge hidden within those eyes. "Remember what it is like to be human and heal!"
Like an oath to keep with a final breath.

1) I'm not really happy with how this turned out, but here it is.
2) Juno mourned Jason and was mad that Jupiter didn't save him. Nico thinks that Jason was somewhere better but couldn't tell if he was in Elysium or the Isle of the Blessed when he could either go there or ask his Dad. Jason has ascended and no one can convince me otherwise.
3) Out of the Seven, Jason and Leo are my favorites.
3A) That's not to say that Percy isn't my favorite of them all though. The OG.
3B) Out of all the characters in HoO; Percy, Jason, Leo, Octavian, and Drew are my favorites.
4) I personally believe that Jason deserves more fics outside of the Seven though.
4A) I really wished explored New Rome more. I wish he gave us more of Jason's backstory instead of trying to let us piece it together through other people.
4B) Amnesia is convenient tool and excuse though so I can make him as unhinged as I want to.
4C) I also don't like that Ivlivs was destroyed just about all the other protaganist get to keep their main weapons, but Jay loses his?
5) I'm just trying to understand that if Jason was supposed to be Percy's equal then why did we not see more of Jason's power?
5A) Another reason as to why Jason was easily Percy's equal and I wish we knew more about him. Like "Gaea hates you above all others...except perhaps for that upstart Jason Grace." Like let's be fucking fr.
5B) Lmfaooo. Both of them stood up against the King of her children and won AND they both went up against what could be considered the second strongest and won. (Jason and Krios, Percy and Hyperion. Percy also had Iapetus and since it wasn't mentioned where he was, it came be assumed that Jason faced Koios also.)
6) I'm really not trying to hear that bs line about the Roman gods being weaker than the Greek gods when the Romans had their own gods before they hellenized with the greeks. They are different deities that only look alike at the surface level.
6A) One of these days I will put the roman myths into some semblance of order and understanding, dammit!
6B) Like did you know in some of their myths, Sāturnus was the Father of Jove, Neptūnus, Dīs, Cerēs, Vesta, and Juno but in other myths, Vulcanus is said to be the Father of Jove and Juno. Honestly!
6C) Jove and Juno are twins in the Roman myths.
6D) Mercurius is sometimes not even considered a son of Jove, but a son of Dies and Caelus. (Hemera and Ouranos)
6E) Venus is considered a primordial deity.
6F) Cupid is Venus' son. Érōs is not Aphrodite's son. Érōs is the primordial god that was her friend and companion. Cupid was the son of Venus and Mārs.
6G) Mārs is the one that's not considered to be Jove's son and instead Juno's alone. Like, come on.
6H) In early roman mythogy, there were no parents for Dīāna. She had no twin brother. She minded her business.
6I) Also, Dīāna has kids in Roman myths. A daughter named Aradia and she was also the mother to one of the Cupids. (Get this, the Father to that cupid is apparently Mercurius.)
