Chapter 48.

Today was the day everyone had been waiting for. Olivia and the twins Carlotta and Emillia were going to be released today and finally go home.

As they walked through the hospital hallways. Olivia couldn't believe how much life had changed in the last few months. She had gone from being a single mother to now being a mother of three. She never could have imagined the level of joy and love she would feel for the three kids.

Noah was full of excitement as he paced the apartment in anticipation of his mother's return. He joined Aunt Amanda in decorating a welcome home banner. And after that he helped setting up a small celebration in the living room.

"Aunt Amanda, how long do you think it will be before they arrive?" Noah asked, his voice shaking from excitement.

Amanda turned to Noah with a warm smile and replied "I'm not sure exactly, but the doctor said they would be released today."

"I hope it won't be much longer." Fin smiled as he hung balloons on the ceiling. "I'm sure your mother will be thrilled to see the effort you've put into welcoming them home."

"I can hardly wait." Noah grumbled as he stared out the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of his mother's car.

"I hope you will be so excited when the twins wake you up in the night." Aunt Amanda chuckled.

Olivia looks at Carlotta and Emillia through the rearview mirror. Her heart swells with love. She cannot believe these beautiful babies are hers. Olivia is happy to finally be home. She's been waiting for this day for what seems like forever and now it's finally here.

Olivia feels a sense of relief as they come to a red light. She looks over at Carisi, who is focused on the road, and can't help but feel grateful to have him by her side. He's been a rock throughout her pregnancy. She knows they're going to make an amazing team raising their two miracle babies.

As they drive Olivia can't help but replay the events of the past few days in her mind. She recalls the surge of emotion she felt when the twins were born. The overwhelming feeling of love she felt when she first looked down at them. She knows it's a memory she'll hold onto forever.

"They're coming. They are finally here." Noah's face lit up with a smile as the car arrived. As he watched his mother and Sonny each take a baby out of the car, his joy was palpable.

"Everyone quick...they are coming." Noah gestured for everyone to gather in one place. As he awaited eagerly his mother's arrival through the open door. "Welcome home, Mom, Sonny. Carlotta, and Emilia."

Olivia and Sonny were surprised by the large crowd and a warm welcome.

Noah jumped into his mother's arms and gave her a gentle hug being careful not to squeeze the baby.

Overwhelmed with love and gratitude for the warm welcome. Olivia smiled as she hugged him and kissed his head as tears of joy streamed down her face.

"Mom, I missed you so much." Noah whispered, his voice filled with emotion. As he buried his face in his mother's shoulder, Olivia could feel his longing for her during their time apart.

"I missed you too, my sweet boy," Olivia choked back tears of her own as she held Noah close.

As Noah pulled away from the hug, he surveyed the room filled with smiling faces. Everyone greeted Olivia and Sonny warmly, expressing their joy at their return. The atmosphere was one of love and happiness. As Olivia led the twins into the nursery, Stabler followed close behind.

"I'm so happy for you both." Stabler couldn't help but be overjoyed as he watched Benson's face light up with happiness. He watched with delight as she gently rocked one of the newborns in the nursery crib. Carisi did the same with the other twin. Stabler felt a deep sense of joy and happiness for Benson. As he watched them care for the two newborns in the nursery.

"I'll give you some space." Carisi said, placing a reassuring hand on Liv's back before starting to leave the room. Benson watched as Sonny started to leave and said , "No, you don't have to go." She held onto his arm, determined not to let him go. Carisi meant so much to her, there was no doubt about her feelings for him. And he needed to hear what Stabler had to say.

Carisi's surprise was evident as he watched her for a moment. Stabler approached them both and offered his heartfelt congratulations. "I couldn't be happier for you both. You have been blessed with two beautiful girls." he said .

Liv's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Stabler, her voice filled with deep emotion. "Thank you, Elliot."

"I have always had complete faith in your ability to be an exceptional mother." Stabler said, feeling a wave of relief wash over him.

Olivia and Sonny are both exhausted after the party and they decide to relax together on the couch in the evening. They turn off the TV and sit there, enjoying each other's company. As they talk, Olivia leans in and Sonny meets her halfway and their lips meet in a gentle kiss. It's slow and sweet. They continue to kiss, lost in the moment.
