This is practice for better fight scenes in my books. Suggestions and comments are always welcomed! Seriously. I have a habit of being excessively detailed at times. Any suggestions to shorten my wording are greatly appreciated.
A Frozarburst Original
The bodies of both humanoid machines and alien troops littered the tight halls of the quiet asteroid Outpost 113. Alarms went off across the ruined station as the lights turned red and all the prison cells had been emptied. Including one that was specially designed with layers of energy doors and turrets pointed toward the interior for one being. The only area that hadn't been worn from the fighting was the command deck, built at the center of a large open pit where every floor was connected via an access lift and platforms. On one of these platforms, the 1218th gold-clad Semi Human android, Carvahn, slid backward across the metal floor on her feet from a scorched shot to her plated chest. Her wingspan folded forward to shield her face from another plasma bolt, then she brought arm sabers up to counter a chop from two flaming blades! This familiar foe, adorned in a stolen command suit, stared Carvahn down with their expressionless eyes and ran their dome into the android's helmet. It shattered and 1218 grabbed both arms and swung the fighter back towards the lift, then kicked them off onto the lower floor!
The invader rose from the surface. "Did you think this pathetic excuse for a prison could hold me?"
Carvahn straightened her stance and prepared her fists. "It held you long enough, Genova."
She launched a gauntlet, which Genova smacked away and retaliated with a cannon blast to the balcony. The android jumped to even footing, sprinting for cover as more shots came her way. That was until the 1219th Semi Human engineer, Dirge, descending from a floor above Genova had them rotate to meet his buzzsaws with her swords. They blocked three more swings from the android and seized an opening, sending Dirge sliding across the floor from a beam to the stomach. But he immediately recovered to launch the tethers in his shoulders into the gun, exploding it the second Genova fired again. They were badly burned and thrown into a terminal behind her and off the level.
"The Triumvirate will never surrender to traitors," Dirge said as he ran in the opposite direction. He climbed up the ladder to the large security terminal and supplies where he met Carvahn grabbing a spear from the closet. While she stood guard behind her brother, he typed code on the keypad accessing a setting for "CODE DESTRUCTO 1." He accepted it. Just then, Genova returned, ascending from the lift. And behind them was a swarm of creatures, humanoid in shape. Some crawled like spiders on the walls. Others walked normally, carrying guns from the weapons cache around the facility. But each one had a distinctly distorted grimace, technology grafted to their bodies, and frequent muscle spasms from heads twitching to arms pulsing.
"Your Triumvirate is no more," Genova exclaimed. "Can't you see? No matter what they say they are, the universe will remember the stains they marked on every star. You can change your security or call whoever you want for a rescue. They won't come."
1219 answered, "I wasn't expecting them to."
He wrapped his arms around Carvahn's gauntlet and was launched to the upper floors, both lunging into the nearest shooter and rolling to blast two of the others beside him. Dirge continued his run into the narrow hallway, shooting behind him with his needle gun, while his sister met Genova head-on with her spear. Genova was fast, meeting every swerve with a guarding motion of their gauntlet blades. Eventually, though, they were struck in the head by the butt of the staff and spun-kicked into the computer. But Carvahn was cut off by the sounds of multiple abominations coming in her direction! Quickly, the android rotated to lunge her blade through a spiderling's skull, tossing him into another wielding a gun. She impaled another next to her and kicked the weapon deeper before turning back to grab a raging monster, kicking its metal jaw off. When suddenly…
SLIING!
The silicon skin on the left of Carvahn's mouth was torn from Genova slashing at her! Both met each other's hands and held on before Genova slammed the android's back against one of the poles of the lift. Seeing it snap, Carvahn pried the broken piece into her enemy's shoulder!
"AGH," Genova screamed and punched the sentinel. One other strike led to Carvahn's wingspan unfolding and ejecting, launching the prisoner straight through several balconies!
As she ran for the large elevator and descended to the lower floors, all while being swarmed by more cyborgs, the android radioed her brother. "Dirge, I'm going after the final terminal. Have that second one ready."
"Acknowledged."
From Dirge's end of the base, getting into more tight corridors, he was met by several creatures stealing weapons from the corpses in the room. They began shooting at him the second he entered the terminal chamber where he slid onto his knees behind a server rack. He shot through the gaps between computers, nailing multiple attackers and turning both sides, ejecting his saw blades into their skulls! With his hooks, he launched two tethers through the openings onto the racks behind the soldiers shooting from the front. And with a tug, the machines collapsed onto them! All the noise and sparks flying startled the monsters long enough for Dirge to run along the walls and rapid-fire more nails before his tools were empty. He grabbed his saw blade on the way to the terminal, slicing the last spiderling charging for him in half from the stomach up as he began to type on the keyboard. "CODE DESTRUCTO 2."
With his back turned, he was struck by a heavy shot to the backpack! He turned and spun to the side from more shotgun shells from three troops flooding the room. The magnets on his gloves allowed him to pry a large panel on the floor upward for cover. In his luck, he did so beside a downed monster with his blaster tucked next to him. In only three shots, he perfectly drilled a hole through the cyborgs without looking, picked up his saws, and made a sprint for the hallway.
Deep in the caverns, Carvahn rushed to the small security system in the wide hangar bay, aligned by rows of dropships. She hastily keyed in the inputs with he back turned, finishing when she overheard the descent of Genova from the ceiling. They slammed down in front of her, crushing the controls and lunging their blade through the Sentinel's stomach!
For a moment, Genova smirked with their teeth over it until she was grabbed by the head and headbutted against the steel wall behind her! Carvahn grasped the blade and pulled herself forward, punching Genova several times, enough to expose the metal underneath her fist before she was finally kicked out of her bind. That, however, gave Carvahn room to use the blaster in her staff to shoot Genova through the barrier!
At that moment, several of the misshapen creatures from above poured from the halls and crawled from the ceiling beams toward the Semi Human. The closest ones had their limbs atomized by the staff gun. Some were hacked by several consecutive slashes. But when Genova returned to fight, Carvahn was forced to use her only weapon for defense. It snapped but she was saved from being stabbed again thanks to Dirge throwing his saw deep into the gauntlet saber! Genova tore the blade out and shot at the android running for her. Or so they thought.
As Dirge got closer, he spun aside and ducked under the gun of the shuttle behind him. One press of a button on his cuff shot the turret and barely missed the villain but ripped through other creatures like a warm knife through butter. Another button was pressed and the ship automatically released itself from the hinges of the racks and gravitated out of the air shield to space. Carvahn tossed one-half of her staff to her brother before Genova could bring their last saber down on him. He bobbed and weaved aside from each blow, then struck their forehead with the staff. Genova was pushed onto the floor by Carvahn bringing both feet into their stomach as she leaped upright. But this was met by a spin kick tripping the Sentinel. Dirge pushed against the vessel beside him, forced behind cover when more minions arrived guns blazing. Carvahn rolled from Genova lunging her spear to the floor, getting up and weaving to get to them and throwing them across the room!
Again, Dirge fired the gun of the nearest ship. This time badly burning the left of Genova's body! They roared and went on a frenzy against Carvahn, who without her spear, used whatever cyborg limbs were scattered about to block and occasionally strike. She tore through the remaining monsters coming her way and punched a hole straight through another's head while sprinting for Genova to meet their neck with a kick! It sent the humanoid flying through one of the shuttles from the front to the back!
"There should be a room tight enough to withstand the ensuing explosion," Dirge relayed to Carvahn.
He sent a message of raw code to his sister's feed and made his way behind more cover as more of the corrupted misshapen soldiers arrived. From his vantage, he reloaded his nail gun and downed whoever came Carvahn's way from a distance. She, on the other hand, got up close and tore more of the horde to pieces with every possible obstacle in her path, using the floor panels as shields and then shooting the control panel operating the air shields, causing the contents of the hangar to be sucked out and frozen in space! Once the emergency hatch doors shut, it was left to just the humanoid robots and an enraged Genova who sprung back for Carvahn, front first. Though the Semi Human swiftly countered each blow, eventually, she was caught off by her saber being smashed off her arm! She immediately switched to using her right fist to shatter Genova's nose bone and was met with a heavy knee to the gut! Blow after blow, the two were dismantling each other until Carvahn was elbowed down to one knee. Dirge intervened with a snipe to Genova's hand before it could meet Carvahn's dome. The enemy's eyes flashed red as they launched their saber at the android who swerved for cover. This didn't help his shooting arm, which had been severed while getting behind another shuttle. But he continued to steady himself. This bought Carvahn time to flee to the top catwalks using her booster boots while Genova searched for Dirge directly. He grappled himself up to the platform his sibling was on, seeing his foe hopping up the racks to reach him. A mistake he quickly exploited by releasing the locks holding the fighter ships in place. One by one, they collapsed onto each other; one crushing Genova underneath, though it did little to stop them. As Dirge kept running towards the room Carvahn was in, she yelled "BROTHER!" Their foe began to sever the scaffolding, collapsing the floors in the android's rush to reach his sister.
He held onto the end of the broken walkway with his one arm, launching a tether and leaning from Genova's blade, breaking his shoulder. This didn't stop him from stunning them with another shot from his other grapple gun and Carvahn retrieving him. They both ran for the hidden room when the tall one quickly returned up one of the cranes. They sliced at the two, only for 1219 to slide under the first swipe and 1218 leaning back. She grabbed onto the hot knife with her bare metal hands. And though the burns were searing, she tossed the weapon aside and headbutt Genova while heading to the exit.
Irritated, they shot back at the Semi Human, but it was too late as she and Dirge had already activated the shield door of the small room.
"Do you honestly believe either of you can escape," Genova snarled. "No one leaves my sight and lives!"
"That's precisely what we're counting on," said Dirge.
CODE DESTRUCTO FINALIZED. SELF DETONATION IN 5…
In a frenzy, the alien humanoid began to slam their fists into the shields, desperately trying to break in somehow. They blew holes into the sides of the doorway, but none of it helped. Both Semi Humans stood silently, glaring blankly as the countdown reached 3…then 2…then 1.
What came after took the form of what resembled a supernova. In an explosion of such magnitude, the monsters floating lifelessly outside were instantly vaporized. Out of the chaos, Dirge and Carvahn went flying out of their safe zone, severely damaged and adrift along with what little debris was left of the facility. Thanks to the grapple hooks, they remained close. Though as they slowed down, they noted that they weren't alone. Now without legs, missing an arm, and half their face, Genova floated aimlessly, and seemingly slain from the blast. And just above them, their getaway shuttle returned. Both machines brought themselves closer to the body along with the ship to examine.
When suddenly…
"HAAAAAAAAGH!"
BANG!
The moment the warlord sprung from near death, they were brought back to the cold from a single shot to the skull. One more time, Carvahn fired and Dirge adjusted the hidden splicer embedded in his arm, transforming it into a makeshift flamethrower to burn what was left of the former prisoner…
