Season 4 - Episode 5 - after 'Snitch'
July 5, 2015
Sharon walked into Interview 1. Andrea looked back to her and then back to 'Big Hazard', who was writing out his statement. Andrea then looked back at Sharon. Something was up. She stood and motioned for the Captain to follow out into the hallway.
"What's going on?"
Sharon shook her head quickly.
"You are blushing like crazy, Sharon, what-"
"He did it."
Andrea just stared.
"He did it." It seemed to Andrea that Sharon couldn't form any other words.
"Twizz?"
"No."
"Hazard? Big Hazard?"
Sharon gave her an odd look. "No?"
"What the hell are you talking about? Who the hell-"
"Andy-"
It took Andrea a moment.
"Oh shit."
Sharon's smile grew.
"Holy shit, well?"
Sharon felt like a teenager. "He just … asked me out, for tomorrow, Serve, oh my god, Andrea …"
Andrea looked at her as if she were insane, "You can't be nervous."
Sharon's eyes widened, "Of course I'm nerv-"
Andrea rolled her eyes, "That's just silly, Sharon … you're what, nervous about kissing him? Sex? Because that's all that's left for you two to do, and you know you can't disappoint that man … he's crazy about you … and, you've been dating for a whole year. You know everything about each other … over a year, Sharon."
"We have not been dating for over a year …" she did not sound convincing.
"... and you two have never kissed, fooled around? Even a little?"
"Never. A kiss on the cheek twice, maybe three times …" her heart was racing. What the hell?! She didn't think she'd react this way. "What exactly is a 'little' fooling around, Andrea?"
"Look," Andrea ignored her question and shifted on her feet, "try not to be nervous … the only thing that'll be different from all of your other dinners is maybe holding hands and adding the goodnight kiss, or more, whatever … like I said … you have nothing to worry about on his end …"
"Hmmm," she couldn't help the nerves.
"Or just grab him first thing and make out with him … before dinner … get all the nerves out of the way …"
Sharon stared at her brilliant friend. What an excellent idea.
"Yes, Flynn? How did it go?" Provenza knew that his idiotic partner would ask their boss out on a date tonight. He just wanted it all over with. Nonsense, all of it.
"She said 'fine'."
"Fine?"
"That's a yes … holy fuck," his heart was racing.
"Okay, great, so you asked her out. She said 'yes'."
"Fine," Andy corrected.
Provenza rolled his eyes. "She said 'fine', which means 'yes'."
"Yes, holy fuck."
"We're on a loop, Flynn. Why did you call me?"
Andy didn't really know. "What do I wear?"
"Ye gods, Flynn, I don't give a shit … you're the one with eighteen thousand ties …"
"I'm nervous."
"Well I won't help that. You should be nervous as hell."
"What?! Why?"
"I'm kidding. Ye gods, you're pathetic. You've been on hundreds of dates … now you just need to kiss her."
"Well, she's running that show…"
"Ugh, you won't kiss for a year."
"Shut the hell up."
"Oh my god, can I hang up?"
"Sure, bye … holy fuck."
Provenza nodded, "Good luck, Flynn, you're gonna need it."
Andy stared at his phone, less nervous because even though his partner was an ass, he was right, they'd been out for over a year together … he could do this … he had to do this. Holy fuck.
Season 5 - Episode 1 - after 'Present Tense'

"I know it feels like it's been a long time coming, but before you, um," she took in a nervous breath, "put a for-sale sign on your house and move into someplace in Silverlake, maybe we should discuss, uh … alternatives?"
"Well, you'll get no argument from me on that."
"Okay."
"Is um, one of those 'alternatives' moving in together right away?"
"Well, why don't we discuss it over dinner? I mean, I-I'm only asking you to wait another hour."
"But uh, after we order?"
"Oh I think before."
He held her for a while, needing to feel her in his arms for a bit. Would this be the first time she'd let him have his way? Discuss something before ordering.
He squeezed her quickly and stepped back, holding both of her hands in his. "Can I ask you one thing?"
She narrowed her eyes. "Don't you dare propose to me right now, Andrew Flynn."
He laughed. Kissing her softly, "I wouldn't think of it."
"What's the 'one thing'?" She breathed in.
"Why are you nervous right now?"
She took in another deep breath … a nervous breath.
"Hey," he squeezed her back close to him, "What's going on?"
"Nothing. I don't know why I'm-"
"Babe, if you aren't ready to move in together …"
"I am."
He stared.
"I mean," she swatted his shoulder, "we'll talk before dinner." She smiled.
"Sharon-"
"Okay, fine … I want to move in together! But I still have paperwork to do here-"
He gave her a look.
She finished, "... and of course I'm nervous about it and over-thinking and … have you met me?"
"We basically live together already, babe." He kissed her and then just stared at her perfect face as she thought about it. "You're so beautiful."
"Hmmmm," she hummed into another kiss. "Thank you, Andy. I'm sorry. I'm not having doubts, I'm just … worried."
"Well stop it."
She shook her head, smiling, "Easier said than done."
"What are you so worried about? Surely you don't think you'd get sick of me… I'm great." He squeezed her closer.
"Mmmmm," she wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him for another long moment. "You are great, and no, I'd never get sick of you."
"Well, what's worrying you?"
"Andy, I don't know, everything, nothing, Rusty, Emily, Ricky, your kids …"
"My kids love you. Well, Nicole anyway …"
She'd never really held a conversation with his son, but his daughter loved the change she saw in her father because of Sharon. That was made clear years ago. They also spoke weekly on the phone now … and Nicole and Emily had become fast friends.
"Andy, I love you. I want to be with you nearly every second of the day … and I trust you, but this is big … this is it, just … I need a minute. I want to talk to you about everything over dinner, like I said and you refused to allow."
He smiled. "I'm sorry, I'll wait, I'm not meaning to … rush … I just love you," he wrapped his arms around her again, "so much, Sharon, and want … want to start the next …"
"I know," she interrupted. "I know. Me too, and I don't mean to make you wait all the time."
"I'd wait forever."
She pulled back to have his eyes on hers and said carefully, "Don't wait too long, though."
He grinned down to her, "On the whole proposal thing?"
She swallowed, glaring into his eyes.
"I promise that I will only ask you when I just can't wait anymore …"
She leaned up and kissed him slowly, knowing that the blinds were still open. She hugged his neck after and whispered, "Don't wait forever."
He pulled back from her. He really wanted to get down on one knee.
"Get back to work …"
"I'm done."
"Oh, well, leave me alone so that I can be done."
"Okay, hurry … you know where to find me." He widened his constant grin.
She smiled after him as he closed her door and sat at his desk, now tapping on his phone.
Forget moving in, they were pretty much now engaged. Dinner was going to be interesting and she thinks she's going to wait now until after they order …
Season 4 - Episode 5 - four days after 'Snitch'
July 9, 2015
"Thank you for finally bringing me to Serve." She wrapped her arm around him as they started walking to the restaurant.
He squeezed her closer. "Our first real date," he leaned down, still walking slowly, and kissed her. In public. Granted, it was the parking lot and there were hardly any people around, but still. When he pulled back, he checked with her to see how okay that was. She was just smiling happily up to him. So he stopped them and kissed her again.
After a moment or three, she pulled back and patted his shoulder, "Okay, let's not go crazy."
"I wanna go back to bed."
"Andy," she kissed him and gave him a pointed look, "that's all we've done for three days …"
"I know. You're so fucking beautiful," he kissed her neck.
"I'm so ... hungry."
"Hush, drama queen, we ate four hours ago," he kissed her once more and then they continued their way through the parking lot.
Once in and seated in a small booth, they scooted together as close as possible, closer than any dinner before, of course, because this time, they shared the same side of the table. She took his hand, smiled, and held it in her lap. "Andy, this is romantic. It's gorgeous in here," she looked around.
"Mmmhmm, hey, Sharon?"
She looked over, a questioning expression.
"You are gorgeous."
She smiled at his sweet words and leaned over to kiss him. He couldn't believe that they were here, right now, kissing, in front of people, like … a lot of people. The place was packed.
It wasn't a long kiss, of course, but he'd take anything. They'd been out to dinner hundreds of nights, he felt, and here, in the last few months, he'd been hoping so much for this, for her to feel at least a little what he felt, because he had been all in for quite some time and daydreaming of this exact moment.
He kissed her once more and squeezed her hand, smiling.
"I love you," she whispered, keeping her eyes on his.
He was still getting used to hearing it. He could almost hear his heart pounding, too. "I love you, now let's order."
"Mmmm, okay." She didn't want to get too carried away, and honestly was a little worried about all of the public displays of affection but was working on not caring about it as much. Something was different. She was different now. The last three days had altered an entire section of her life that she had placed nicely in a box and stored away for, she assumed, forever.
He was just so, profoundly loving, adoring, and he couldn't keep his hands off of her, this being their first date after their first try for one a few days ago.
They sat for a while after ordering, just looking at each other, holding hands, smiling like idiots.
"How ya feeling?" He asked, smiling.
"In love."
He glanced around the room. "Not embarrassed?"
She chuckled, "Not yet." She glanced around, too. "Everyone is too wrapped up in their own little world. It's nice."
He leaned in, kissed her cheek, "I wanna be wrapped up in you some more." He pulled her hand into his lap after kissing it.
"We had to leave your bedroom, Andy."
"Hmmm," he laughed. "We absolutely did not."
Their food arrived and they ate, navigating how to while sitting so closely and him trying to hold her hand constantly. She loved it.
"Let's eat here only from now on …"
"I'd go broke, babe," he joked.
"Mmmm, so good." She moaned as she closed her eyes, savoring her salmon.
He cleared his throat. She shouldn't make noises like that.
"Andy?"
"Mmmhmm?"
She leaned further into him and moaned softly close to his ear, "So good."
"You're killing me."
She grinned wickedly.
"On purpose." He kissed her fully on the lips. When she pulled back, he kept her with him and deepened the kiss.
She whimpered into the kiss as he pulled back finally, looking down to her with so much adoration. Her eyes opened slowly and she just took him in.
"You're amazing," he whispered.
She shook her head slowly, "You're not so bad yourself."
"That does taste good," he smirked and kissed her again.
They ate for a while longer, again, smiling and touching like idiots, Provenza would say. Andy was soaking it all up. Every second was exciting, new, wonderful.
"Dessert?"
"Mmmhmm," she answered, grinning wider.
After they'd finished their first dinner date, he took her to the beach to walk. They'd done this before a few times, but not like this. He couldn't wait.
"I can't stop touching you," he whispered after she spun into him in the sand and hugged him tightly.
"I never want you to," she kissed him softly, her hands on his cheeks. "Promise me you'll never get tired of touching me."
"Done." He kept her close. "Easiest promise I've ever made."
They walked for a while, hand in hand, but that wasn't enough, so they wrapped their arms around each other for a while, stopping every once in a while, just to kiss. He'd never been happier. Never before felt this.
She felt drunk. Only she'd had no alcohol tonight. What a cliche, but … it fit. She'd never felt this … light. Just happy.
Of course they hadn't spent three full days in bed. They had work, nothing dramatic, no murder, just paperwork and finishing up some loose ends on several cases. She had to sleep at home, but she got home late all three nights and rarely saw Rusty at home … he came to her office to visit, but she didn't think he cared one bit … he was used to her having long hours.
How was he to know that she left work and went straight to Andy's bed, shower, kitchen counter, on top of his dryer, couch, desk … she smiled. The desk.
"Lieutenant?" She mumbled into his ear after their last make-out session. She was tired of being in public and she wasn't ready quite yet to have sex on the beach.
"Hmmm?" He hardened a bit more against her, his hands traveled down to her ass.
"Take me home."
"Mmmhmm. Yes, Captain."
