Salvation
In Edmonton, Alberta, there is a hotel called the Cantera off of Jasper Avenue on 109th Street. During the night, Blaze the Cat would go to Cantera and ring the doorbell. Should she be let in, she'd look to see who the guard was on shift. If the man looks in his mid-20s, yet the hair on his head and face are both white as snow, Blaze would take a seat beside the security desk. If it was any other guard on shift, she'd have to leave and return in a week's time. However, because she has the right guard to see on shift, she would remain seated until the right time.
Blaze would wait inside the hotel and wouldn't bother to say a single word, as the guard would not respond to any words or questions she asked. He does hear her, but he will not respond to her. If anything, the guard would give her a depressed look, as if he knew something terrible was on the horizon. When the time becomes 2:52 AM, the guard will rise to perform a patrol of the building. Blaze followed the guard on the very patrol the guard was on. If Blaze followed him at any other time before 2:52 AM, she'd be forcefully removed from the hotel and lose her chance. She'd not say a word as she walked down the halls behind the guard.
The guard would check that all the rooms had been locked as well as patrol the stairwells. When Blaze and the guard reach the 5th floor, Blaze will notice that it is remarkably higher than the last four floors. The 5th floor was silent, but that's normal regardless. When the guard secured all the rooms on the floor, Blaze and the guard would stop to see a door that was much older than any of the other doors in the hotel. This is Room 512. Only the particular guard Blaze was following has access to this room. Blaze would take note of the key that the guard uses to unlock the door, which will be important later.
At this point, the guard will open the room for Blaze and allow her to pass through. The room is pitch black, and yet Blaze would not be afraid, as the worst has yet to come. Blaze would take a deep breath, close her eyes, and step through the doorway. Blaze would not open her eyes until she heard the door close behind her, for seeing the transition can be insanity-inducing.
Now, before we continue on with this story, why is Blaze doing any of the things she's done so far?
Well, fellow reader. All of this started because Blaze the Cat herself heard of a prophecy of a world-ending event. Or should I say, "Dimension-Ending" event? This prophecy has been known to Blaze the Cat and the inhabitants of the Sol Dimension for quite some time, and the Sol Emeralds themselves are the catalyst for this stage of Armageddon. The very gems of unlimited power that Blaze the Cat used to defend the Sol Dimension are now the catalyst for Armageddon to arise. And this event would occur in two years, with Blaze the Cat being unable to delay or even prevent such Armageddon from occurring and feeling she wasted most of her life being the guardian of the Sol Dimension for nothing. Blaze has given up as a Hero of the Sol Dimension, and now seeks refuge in Sonic's Dimension.
Can you blame her for any of this, though? Can she truly be blamed for leaving the dimension she called home, which has no more hope of being saved? If you asked me the same question, I wouldn't ever blame her in the slightest, despite how selfish her actions would be
Blaze felt an almost unbearable burst of heat hit her whole body. Blaze finds herself in a long hallway with numerous turns. She would see 13 doors lining this hallway, with Blaze knowing not to open any of the doors. She would also take note of which door would have a splash of white paint, as it would be critical to her survival soon. When Blaze reached the end of the hallway, she would find herself in the living room of the suite.
In each corner of the room, she sees tall figures with burnt flesh, all of them sitting on the floor, hugging their legs with their heads upon their knees, and facing their respective corners. Their fingers will be chewed away until their tips are nothing but sharp, bony talons. Blaze would not address any of the figures she sees. Understandably so, as their appearance would make anyone's stomach turn. Blaze would also know not to touch any of them as they are "her" guardians.
In the center of the room, "she" would present. She would be sitting in an old, ragged reclining chair. Blaze would not say that it's impossible to say how she will look, for her appearance changes for everyone that encounters her. In Blaze's case specifically, she would be a tall woman with smooth gray skin and long black hair touching her shoulders. Her eyes would be a demonic black with the most attractive eyelashes, with no irises or pupils to see, with no other facial features to see. Her body had a slender and curvy figure, and she wore a black dress resembling a wedding dress. Blaze would blush somewhat, seeing how She could look so attractive and now aware of how Her appearance can change for any person.
Should She, like her guardians, be asleep, Blaze knows better not to awaken Her from her slumber. For now, Blaze has time to rest and recollect herself from the fear welling in her being. Blaze would see food and drinks set out on the coffee table in front of Her. Blaze would smile a little, finding it humorous how a being beyond mortal understanding welcomes her to partake in whatever food and drinks are given to her. All her favorite foods and drinks are there, as Blaze slowly ate most of the food and consumed all the drinks so as not to awaken Her or her guardians. Blaze would see a pie and was about to reach for it, but she realized at the last second that if she partake in any of the pie, it would numb her legs.
Since Blaze is known for being bold among her people, she would pause in her solo feast and take a look outside the window. Blaze would have a look of horror as the outside world resembled a hellish version of the Avenue, on which the hotel is located. The buildings are burnt-out husks of their former selves; the river valley has dried and cracked; fire is appearing on the horizon; and the ever-burning sun will resemble blood set ablaze. Blaze knows if she stays here for hours on end, she will find no relief from the heat that still hits her like a truck slamming into her, and there is no night present in this reality.
Blaze would be bold enough to look at the streets and see the same figures as the ones in the living room. They, however, are awake, shuffling, screaming, and wailing from their black maws. They have no eyes in their sockets, but by some twisted means, they can still see clearly. Blaze would care enough not to attract any of the figures' attention, for they will follow her back to the Sol Dimension, and the venture she's going through will be for naught. Blaze would return to the table and eat the leftovers of the food and gulp down what was left of the drinks, having almost lost her appetite and remembering not to partake of the leg-numbing pie.
Having satisfied her appetite, Blaze would stand before Her and speak clearly with the words:
"Save me, Mother, please..."
Blaze would say nothing and wait to hear Her breathing. At this point, one of two things will happen: Blaze remembers the key the guard used to open the room with. Should She place that exact key on the table in front of her, she might as well count herself lucky. Should She, however, give a different key upon a different key upon the table, Blaze would be forced to give Her an offering.
Her horrors would come true when She gave her a different key.
A knife that wasn't previously on the table was now present. The blade is rusted and bloodied. Knowing what must be done, Blaze would walk over to the table and take the knife, and when she readies herself, she severs one of her fingers, resulting in a cracking sound and making her shake and grit her teeth in sheer pain. Blaze would place the severed finger beside the key and wait. Blaze would see her hand regenerate her lost finger due to her powers from the Sol Emeralds.
However, Blaze had to suffer further as She kept giving her the wrong key. Blaze would have to sever another finger with the knife, causing herself much agony, and offer her finger to her. This would only have to occur a maximum of four times before the right key would be produced. Having her lost finger regenerated by Blaze, with her using her middle, ring, and little fingers as a way to make different offerings to Her, Blaze would give Her one final offering before She gave her the right key. Once the right key is in Blaze's possession, She will once again return to Her haunted slumber.
However, this is when the manure truly hits the fan, as Her guardians are now stirring. Blaze immediately dashed out of the living room, as staying in the living room would result in Her guardians slowly rising from their slumber and turning towards the room to face her. Even if she runs, if they see Blaze, they will slaughter her. Blaze has only 10 seconds before the guardians fully turn from their corners. Blaze remembers the door with the splash of white paint, as that will be the door to remove herself from this hell she's in. Blaze hears the guardians screaming, knowing they are fully awake and are chasing her down. Not having much time left, Blaze sees the door with the white splash of paint, unlocks the door, and passes through it.
Blaze now finds herself outside of her own palace, exactly a week after you entered the hotel. Blaze would remind herself to keep the key on her at all times, wherever she went. Thankfully, she had her most trusted guards watch her palace while she was away on her "vacation." So ultimately, the palace remained untouched by anyone or anything. Blaze, remembering the prophecy of the Sol Dimension collapsing, would make the most of her time remaining there with her friends, most notably Marine the Raccoon.
One year would pass, and Blaze would see a ragged old door with the number "777" appearing wherever she might be. Knowing the Sol Dimension's time is almost over, Blaze would walk over to the door, unlock it, and open it immediately. Blaze would take a moment to appreciate all the times she had with the people she loved and cared about before leaving the Sol Dimension to its final fate, unaware that Marine the Raccoon also did the reality-warping ritual after she left and will follow Blaze wherever she ends up...
Whether the door leads to Sonic's Dimension or otherwise, it will be far better than what is about to happen to the Sol Dimension...
